Today was a special event in Yokohama. A music festival called Coachella , which happens every year in Yokoma. A lot of famous singers would perform over the week, which made the event pretty popular.
But it was also the last day of the festival. Most people were sad that it would already end today. Others were very excited because of today's guest.
Osamu Dazai was performing this evening with his new album. His first solo album after the music duo Double Black have seperated. The circumstances surrounding their break up were still mysterious. Why did they decide to split up 4 years ago? Were they on good terms?
When asked in an interview, both would only respond that there was no bad blood between them. But it was obviously an answer given to stop people from asking further questions. Both aren’t even seen together in paparazzi photos since their split up. It’s like they completely disappeared from each other’s lives!
This caused everyone to wonder what happened. Some people declared that Dazai and Chuuya also deserve privacy and don’t have to tell their fans anything. Others theorised that Double Black used to be lovers and broke up and therefore also ended their careers as a duo.
Everyone was curious, but after 4 years of no new information about their sudden break up, their fans figured they probably wouldn’t ever get an answer.
But both continued to do music.
Chuuya Nakahara stayed at the label Port Music and continued his career as a solo artist. And just because he was doing music now alone, doesn’t mean that he had any less talent, fans or success. A year after the separation, he dropped a new album which won 2 Grammys. A lot of fans tried to find more information about Double Blacks break up in his lyrics but failed. His fans could only speculate about certain lyrics.
After 2 years, Osamu Dazai made an appearance again. With a new record label and everything. He worked with the Audio Dance Agency and seemed happier overall, much to his fans' joy.
Over the time he published some singles, but never more. Then came the surprise. Two months ago, he revealed he’d drop a new album soon. And he did. The album is only out for a week, but has already hit number one in the charts.
When it became public that Osamu Dazai would perform at Coachella with his new album, everybody was excited. There they could hear this masterpeace live for the first time in history!
Everybody wanted to see it live. And for those who couldn’t, there would be a live stream of the event on the internet. It may not be the same experience as being physically there, but it was better than nothing. Besides, the view would probably be better on the stream.
The show would officially start in an hour, but most people arrived early to have a good view of the concert. It was an open air concert with a big stage. There were also some screens so people in the back could see the artist.
Soon the area was full of people who were here to see the concert. Many thousands of people were here.
The stream was also already set up and people began joining.

The light turned dark and everybody quietened down. The first song began to play and all of the light from the spotlights were directed to a single position on the stage.
There was a figure slowly coming out of the ground and onto the stage, as the box rose from the ground. The figure was of course Osamu Dazai.
He smiled and waved at the audience and began to sing his first song of the album. The fan screamed and also began to sing along.

After the first two songs, Dazai had a short break where he drank something and talked to the crowd a bit.
“Hello Yokohama!” The crowd screamed back at him. He chuckled. “How are you?” His question got answered with cheers again.
“I really really missed performing for you guys. It’s been so long since my last concert.” As Double Black , was left unsaid. He never performed since he was at the ADA. Singing Double Black songs was a no-go and before his album, he had only two singles. And two singles are not enough for a concert.
“If you can behave during this concert, maybe I’ll have a surprise for you.” At that everybody cheered loudly.
“I promise you won’t be disappointed.” He chuckled.

Dazai put his water bottle down and continued with the show. He loved singing his songs in front of a crowd that was screaming along with his lyrics. Normally he hates working out, but when he’s on stage, he’s jumping and running around like it would physically hurt him to stay still. There is something ecstatic about performing on a huge state. Moments like these made him feel truly alive.

Dazai breathed heavily. He performed nearly his whole album already. He really missed this. Now there was only one song left. Guess. He was very excited, especially because of his surprise.
“Thank you, Yokohama!” He shouts. “You all were a wonderful crowd tonight! Sadly we have to part ways after this song” Everyone booed. He smiled.
“I know, I know. I don’t want to go either, but I did promise you something special so bear with me.” He made his way to the middle of the stage.
“This is the last song Guess!” He shouted and the crowd cheered. The spotlights were creating a light show with green light. The music started again
“You wanna guess…” he started to sing.

Then they slowly came to the end of the first part of the song. The lights slowly turned in the middle of the stage, where Dazai first got transported onto the stage with a little platform that went up and down. The platform was down at the moment, so it looked like the stage had a square-shaped hole in the stage.

Chuuya smirks. He was wearing jorts and a baggy t-shirt. The eyeliner and the light made his ocean eyes really stand out. His red curly hair looked gorgeous and his bangs fell into his face, framing it beautifully.
The crowd screamed so loud, it was deafening. Everyone was so shocked and excited. Chuuya Nakahara was the fucking special guest?! Who would’ve guessed that? After years of radio silence between them publicly, a music duo break up.
Most Double Black fans were heartbroken after their separation, thinking they would never see them play together live again.
But now? Dazai and Chuuya are performing together again. Not as Double Black, but as two solo artists. It was very different but also very familiar at the same time.

He put his mice towards his lips and began to sing his part. A part that was different from the part that would now normally come in the song now. A part that he wrote for this collaboration.

“...Dazai likes girls, but he knows I’d hid it.” He smirked when he sang that part, looking at Dazai who was also grinning like an idiot.
The crowd screamed so loud that his ears were starting to hurt. I guess that can happen when you publicly had no contact with each other, only to sing such a suggestive part about your partner to the whole world.
Well, the public didn’t know that all these years they were living together and secretly married.

Chuuya and Dazai continued the song while the crowd was screaming. They were back to back and singing the guess, guess part. The light was flickering and green lasers created a beautiful light show that fit perfectly to the party vibe of the song.

Finally, the song ended. Both Dazai and Chuuya were breathing hard from jumping around the stage while singing. The crowd cheered loudly and it seemed like it wouldn’t stop.
“Thank you, Yokohama!” Dazai shouted. “I hope you guys weren’t disappointed with my surprise.” The crowd cheered again. Guess that means no.
“Wow, it’s been so long since the chibi and I last performed together. I certainly missed that.” Dazai turned his head to look at Chuuya.
“Yeah me too.” replied Chuuya.

“I’m afraid we’ve reached the end of this concert. Everyone please give another round of applause for Chuuya Nakahara!”
As the crowd cheered again for Chuuya, Dazai made his way towards him. He pulled him into a side hug and told him (not into the microphone so his fans couldn’t hear him) “Chuuya should come to all of my shows now, so we can sing together all the time.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes playfully at Dazai “In case you forgot, I also have a job that I can’t just throw away because of your whims. Besides, at one point you would surely get sick of me if we would be together 24/7.”
“I would never get sick of my Chuuya.” Dazai said while smiling lovely at Chuuya.
Idiot, Chuuya thought, looking away from Dazai. Trying to act all unbothered by Dazai’s statement, even though he was blushing. He wanted to get off of the stage now, before he’ll get even more flustered or embarrassed.
Dazai just chuckled. “Well I guess I’ll see you later, chibiko.” He leaned down to give his partner a kiss on the cheek.
Chuuya was shocked for a moment (not expecting his partner to kiss him in public), before he walked off the stage while flipping Dazai off.
Dazai just began laughing loudly. It was funny seeing his partner try and fail to keep acting unbothered by his antics.
