Chapter Text
-PROLOGUE-
It was a beautiful day. The birds were singing, flowers bloomed in the light of the sun and a slight breeze made trees rustle in the wind.
The perfect weather for a picnic, was what the six girls had decided between each-other.
But this wasn’t just any picnic. This was the annual picnic that the six ponies held every year this time of the season.
However, this time was different for multiple reasons.
Not only did it take place after they defeated Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow, sentencing them to be turned into stone indefinitely.
But it had also been months since the girls had all hung out together like this.
For those reasons, this was understandably a very special day for the mares who had just settled on the patterned blanked on the grass.
All alone in the lovely meadow, just outside of Ponyville, the chatter and laughter from the girls couldn’t be heard by any other pony than the group themself.
In the meadow where the mares had just begun catching up on what they had all been doing is where our story begins…
~ The Main Six ~
”And THAT’S how I made the most Awesome Super Incredible birthday party EVER!” Pinkie exclaimed as she ended her story, panting from the rapid storytelling.
Her friends all looked at her with joy to see her happy and thankful that the story had finally come to an end.
”What a story!” Rarity cheered. “And to think you had the honor to host princess Flurry Hearts second birthday party ever. That is quite an achievement. Say, you must have been quite busy in the last couple months. I can imagine many have wanted to celebrate the end of those vile villains mayhem.”
Rarity looked at Pinkie with intrigue and anticipation waiting for her answer while she took another bite of the pink colored cupcake.
”Oh, yes! It has been super busy at the Sugar Cube Corner! But Cheese Sandwich has been plenty of help!” Pinkie Pie answered gleefully, settling down on the blanked again after her vivid storytelling.
”Hey, that’s the second time you’ve talked about working with Cheese.” Rainbow Dash noted. “Why are you talking about him so much? Something happened?”
”Oh, well, not really. He has just been helping me a lot and we have been talking about starting our own Party Making Business. But we wanted the workload the ease a little of of Ms. and Mr. Cake first.” Pinkie replied shyly.
”Pinkie, that’s huge!” Twilight exclaimed.
”Oh, it’s nothing… Just kidding, I’M SO EXCITED! It was SO hard to hide this from you guys!” Pinkie rejoiced, practically jumping from excitement.
”I can imagine, especially knowing you. I’m surprised you managed to keep it a secret for this long.” Rarity said as Pinkie giggled. “Anyway, business has been a plentiful for me too. But it has all paid off, as I’ve just opened my first store outside of Equestria. It’s in Hippogriffia, if anyone was wondering.” Rarity smirked in pride as she waited for the praise from her friends.
”That’s incredible, Rarity!”, “Congratulations!”, came the replies from the other girls.
”Everyone seems to have made great achievements since the defeat of the villain trio.” Twilight suddenly noted.
”I wouldn’t say that.” Came Applejack’s voice. “Not a lot has changed on the farm. I mean some things have changed… Big Mac an’ Applebloom have been busy doing their own things recently, and Granny Smith has been getting more tired than usual. So I’ve had to bring in some help from some of my other relatives. Otherwise, not much has happened on my end.” She told the now worried group.
”Are you okay? It seems like you have a lot on your shoulders right now. You know you can always rely on us for help if you’re having a difficult time, right?” Fluttershy states with a worried expression.
”Oh, it’s all right, thank you fer carin’ . It’s just a hard time now. Soon it’ll all pass, just you see.” Applejack reassures. “Besides, I ain’t the only one with a lot on their hooves. If I’d be so bold, I’d assume princess here has had a lot of royal duties to handle. Much more than a simple earth pony who’s spend all her life on the farm can imagine, anyway.”
She says the last part looking straight at Twilight, attempting to take the attention away from herself.
”Of course it’s a lot. But Applejack, I have servants and workers who help me. One single pony cannot care for an entire kingdom on her own, just like one pony cannot care for an entire farm on her own. My troubles are not worse that yours just because it may seem like more. Don’t forget that your troubles matter too, and that you have friends here who will help you if you need it.” Twilight states with a serious expression, but with care in her voice.
”That’s… Ya’ll don’t have to do all that… You have other things to worry about…” Applejack stuttered, surprised by the consideration.
”Come on, Applejack, as if we’d just leave you hanging!” Rainbow suddenly shouted, which was followed by similar statements, such as: “No way we would leave you on your own!” and “We’re friends, remember?” coming from the other girls.
Applejack, touched by the support from her friends said “Girls… That is so kind of ya’ll… thank you.”
Hat clutched to her chest, wiping away tears from her eyes. She once again took away the attention from herself, but this time while also thinking about her own struggles.
She said: “What about you, Fluttershy? You’ve been quiet. How have you been?”
”Oh, me? W-well, after the battle, a lot of animals have had their homes destroyed, or are scared something bad might happen again. So it’s been very busy at the Sweet Feather Sanctuary. B-but it’s alright, Discord has been very helpful.” Fluttershy’s words was met with the surprised look of her friends.
”Did you just say that Discord has been helpful, like, you’re not joking?” Rainbow questions.
”Oh, yeah, he’s been a huge help. We’ve spent a lot of time outside of animal care, too. He’s invited me to the chaos realm a few time now. It’s been a… What do you call it? A blast?” Fluttershy ends her recount of the last couple of months with a satisfied expression.
“Is that everyone? Has everyone finished their stories now?” Rainbow impatiently asked, looking at all the girls for confirmation.
”Yes, Rainbow, everyone is finished, you can talk now.” Applejack confirmed, already knowing where this was going.
”Great! Now the real fun begin. I can’t believe I had to keep silent through all of that just to save the best for last.” Rainbow confidently stated, stoic as ever.
Nobody interrupting her, she continued: “So, I’ve been practicing my sonic Rainboom and you are all gonna have the honor to see it from front row seats! No, no, you don’t need to thank me. I’m starting in… right now!”
Darting off into the sky before anypony could say anything, she begins to speed up to impossible speeds.
On the ground five faces show varying expressions. Some exited, some tired, some annoyed, others worried and of course the look of recognition from years of friendship. If you knew these girls, you would probably be able to guess which reaction each of the girls held.
However, as the performance reached its climax and the sonic rainboom painted the sky with all the colors of the rainbow, the only look painted on the girls faces was a face of astonishment and wonder.
That expression was mutual to all beings located on the planet of Equis when placing their eyes on the spectacle.
However, today, there was an outsider who was there to see the spectacle aswell…

Raspite wasn’t supposed to be here.
Has was supposed to fly trough the emptiness of space, aiming for his designated planet.
Why? Well to gather information on the planet for the upcoming invasion, of course!
Instead of doing that though, he was flying through the atmosphere of some unnamed planet while feeding the advanced irken translation program data of this planet’s inhabitants language.
Yes, while he was flying in his Voot. Multitasking is possible.
So why was he here, talking to himself while he should be elsewhere? Why was he risking execution if the Tallest found out what he was doing?
The answer is simple: he was bored.
You see, space is very… empty.
So. Very. Empty.
There was nothing to do and nothing to see for thousands of light years (if not more).
So, as to not go insane, he allowed himself the luxury of defying orders. Just for a while he was going to fly through the atmosphere of this planet so he wouldn’t go insane from boredom.
But why would they execute him for something so innocent?
Another simple answer: if the native inhabitants saw him, or, Irk forbid, got ahold of some information that could make the inhabitants aware of their future demise, they might want to fight back.
That wasn’t really an issue though. The Irken Empire was incredibly strong. If they fought back they could just blow up their planet.
So why would they care?
A war is inconvenient, that’s all. Irk has better things to do. Like blowing up entire solar systems, and conquering what they don’t blow up.
The reason he was gathering language data from a planet he wasn’t even assigned to was simple.
To ease the anxiety that comes from risking your life for something stupid.
Also for the fact that maybe, just maybe, the Brains would spare him if they knew he had helped the empire, somewhat.
Not that it would save him. People had been executed for less.
Non of that mattered though, because nothing bad was going to happen.
He was going to fly through the atmosphere of this planet, and then, he was going to continue aiming for his assigned planet.
Finished talking to himself, Raspite layed his green eyes upon the landscape below him.
It was a colorful one, this planet. Bright green fields, plenty of nature and a hot, big star that allowed all the features of the landscape to come into view.
He didn’t like it.
Too bright, hurt his eyes.
He was happy with the fact that this planet was going to be rebuilt to look like Irk in the distant future. Like every other planet in this universe. Unless they decided to blow it up of course.
Didn’t matter, both options were good in his eyes.
Before he has a chance to continue wishing for the demise of this planet, though, he heard a loud boom.
All his attention changing to the noice, he saw the body of the sonic rainboom come into view. Growing on the blue sky in all it’s glorious hues.
His reaction was both of wonder and fear.
Wonder because it was beautiful. Not that he would ever admit it. The phenomenon was something he had seen before. It contained colors that he hadn’t seen in a good while, if ever.
At the same time, he was scared.
What was it? Some kind of weather phenomenon? Did the inhabitants find him out? Was he in danger? Why was it getting bigger, and closer?
The fear quickly outgrew the wonder as the sonic rainboom caught up to his Voot, knocking the spaceship out of its route, immobilizing it.
As the sirens blared and the Voot began to rapidly descend to the ground, he began to scream.
He was going to crash, and if he didn’t die from the impact, he would be killed by the people living here. If not them, it would be his own.
His life was over, he thought as the ground came closer and closer into view.
Clutching his seat, tears in his tight-shut eyes, he brazed for impact.
