Chapter Text
Inna’s always been a very extroverted person, able to easily start a conversation with many of his peers at the garden. He’d like to say he is pretty well known, pretty well liked if he was less humble. After all there might be one person who dislikes him, but that one person also doesn’t know him too well so he doesn’t count her.
But he had to speak on the people he both liked and disliked, it’d be. Difficult. To say the least. Especially after the. Recent development.
He could easily explain how his relationship with Toki started. After all, to any outsider, it was only a matter of time before their relationship would begin, rather than if it would. It was almost as if it was destined from their first meeting, the both of them being immediately charmed and interested in each other.
It got harder to explain with the others. Such as Macbeth. It’s not as if Inna has anything bad to say about Macbeth, if anything the opposite, Inna has always thought highly of Macbeth. But the actual idea of their relationship going from platonic to… more, Inna couldn’t help but agree it was pretty out of left field.
And then Yael.
He’s actually really unsure how it happened. He just remembered waking up and seeing Yael’s intimidating eyes as the first thing he sees. Since then Yael announced them as dating.
“We slept together! That’s how all couples get together!”
He still remembers the weird stares and even Yumi asking if he was ok and if he needed help.
‘Maybe help killing myself that might be nice.’ But of course he told Yumi he was… fine.
Inna might be a little bit unhappy in this situation, after all he really only wanted to date Toki, and Macbeth and Yael kind of just somehow burst their way into their happy relationship. But it’s ok, after all he could just imagine its him, his partner, his friend, and Yael.
It’s all ok has basically turned into Inna’s daily mantra, forcing himself to ignore how much he fucking hates Yael but it’s ok. It’ll be all ok. It’s fine that he imagines smothering Yael’s face with a pillow everyday he wakes up and sees that fucking thing in his bed, its all fine.
”Hey uh, Inna… Are you ok? You’ve been ripping that flower to shreds, it’s almost just… machinery? Inna what the fuck did you do?” Macbeth stares at Inna and the ripped apart flower in his hands. He throws it to the side, not too worried about it and redirects his attention.
“Oh yeah I’m fine aha, I’m just… thinking!”
”…okkkkkkk…”
”I hope he was thinking about me.” That stupid aggravating voice Inna has grown to despise and wish he could never hear again appears as Yael walks up to the both of them, wearing a stupid shit eating grin on his face. Inna imagines a situation that ends with Yael dead on the ground and it makes him feel a little bit better. Only a little bit though.
“Oh hey Yael. Did you get what I asked you to get?” Macbeth speaks up, piquing Inna’s interest.
“Yeah yeah! I had to grab it from Monica though, the teachers have been looking a bit hard in my stuff so she held onto it for me, god bless Monica.” Yael does a motion as if he himself is blessing her. ‘A blessing from Yael is more like a curse’
“What is my lovely boyfriend and the other things doing here together?” Toki walks up to the three of them as Yael pulls out a bag that smells quite strong. “Doing drugs.” Yael answers nonchalantly.
”WHAT DRUGS?”
”…Can I have some?”
”TOKI?” He turns towards Inna and shrugs. “It’s not often you can get drugs here. You gotta get what you can get.”
”WHY WOULD YOU WANT DRU-“ Inna’s yelling is interrupted when Macbeth covers his mouth.
”SHHHH! Do you WANT to get us in trouble? If we get caught, we might ALL get expelled, so SHUT UP!” He’s still panicking, after all appearently his partners all really want to get high, and one of his friends helped Yael get the drugs, WHICH IS ILLEGAL! He thinks. He’s not actually sure about the rules surrounding it but he just doesn’t want to be involved.
“Look, it’ll be fineee honey,” Toki kneels down and gets close to Inna, placing an arm over his shoulder. “It’ll be really fucking funny.”
“Is that your way of actually trying to convince me?”
”I also really need this, daddy’s not going to lie to kitten, daddy might kill himself soon. I have to call Macbeth and Yael my partners too and if I have to deal with remembering we are technically in a relationship with the two of them, I’m going to do it on drugs.”
”…When you put it like that, kitten might also want a piece.”
”Good boy!”
”I might kill myself that was actually gross,” Macbeth wears a grimace, but Inna can’t actually bring himself to care. After all Macbeth doesn’t seem to mind Yael and that might actually be more judgement worthy than them using kitten and daddy terminology.
Toki rolls his eyes at Macbeth’s comment and stands back up, “Ok, well since we’re talking about drugs I feel like I should confess I’ve been stealing Macbeth’s antidepressant-“ “What.” “And I think this might be the perfect time to pull them out.”
He leans on a close by tree and pulls off his shoes, pulling out a packet of smashed medication before turning back to them.
”I- WHY DO YOU HAVE THOSE?”
”Because. Anyways, Yael what do you have in that bag?”
”This.” He opens the bag and an absolute FOUL smell leaks out. Inna retches and covers his nose while Macbeth collapses back onto the ground. Toki simply takes the bag and takes a look inside.
“This is just a rotting orange.”
”Like me for real…”
”You smell like one, aren’t I right Inna?” Inna responds with coughing.
“No no like, ok guys you’re going to need to just hear me out.” Yael opens the bag even more so, reaching one of his hands in and gently holding a piece of the rotting orange out. “Heh, watch this.” He opens his mouth and throws it in there.
Just complete silence as the three of them stare at Yael, the air tense. Inna can’t even begin to think of words to say until Macbeth speaks up.
“…What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Please don’t tell me that’s the drugs we’re supposed to use.”
”Drug? This orange? What, are you stupid?” Yael rolls his eyes at Toki’s comment, pulling out another bag from… nowhere? Where is he keeping these bags?
”These are the drugs. I don’t know where you got the idea of my snack being our drug-“
“Your snack?”
”But these are the actual deal. Like I said, Monica helped hide these and actually even helped me make them look as nice as they do.” The pills in the bag do look very… professional… it makes Inna wonder for a second how Monica was even able to help, as well as how long the two of them have been doing this, but he feels like this might be a thing to let go.
“Ok well I don’t know why you had to. Bring the orange. I asked just for the drugs.”
“I was hungry.”
Macbeth gives a glance towards Inna, who’s currently debating if he should bother trying to stop Yael from eating the orange, before snatching the drugs out of Yael’s hands.
”I’ll let you have some if you give me back my fucking antidepressants.” Toki groans, dragging his hands across his face before slowly and hesitantly handing back Macbeth the meds, whispering under his voice “Ts pmo ong 🥀”
”Shut the fuck up, no one even likes you. Inna don’t fucking say anything.” He throws some of the pills at Toki, not really caring much about if he catches it or not. Honestly at that point, Inna’s no longer focusing or worried about some of the things the others are saying, more worried about the lax attitude the three of them have, almost as if they aren’t actively about to take drugs.
“I’m starting to think eating this orange was a bad idea, to be honest.”
”Really? What gave you that idea?” Toki sarcastically comments.
“I mean well, Wren told me it was ok and that I should.” No one speaks up about the obvious lie Wren told Yael. “Do you guys think I should put some of that in here?” He points towards the pills and back towards the orange.
“I think it’s worth a try, might make it taste good.” ’God I hope the mix kills him.’
Macbeth offers Yael some of the pills, although hesitantly, and watches in a mix of horror and disgust as Yael crushes them in his fingers and coat the orange with them. He chooses to glance at Inna, locking eyes with him while Yael begins to devour the orange.
A silent agreement come between them, promising to not mention this at Yael’s funeral.
”Hey, hey, hey babe, baby, babe.” Toki tries to grab Inna’s attention, ignoring the mess that is Yael who answers anyways. “You mean me?”
”…No.”
”Aw man.”
”Inna, darling, babe.” He sits down in front of him, grabbing him by his shoulder in one hand and the pills in the other. “Wouldn’t it be so sexy if like, I took some and we kissed, winky face.”
”Ew gross dude.” Macbeth sticks out his tongue and his face wrinkles in disgust. “This alone is reason enough to escape reality.” He himself puts a few pills in his own mouth passing the rest of the pack to Toki, who turns back to face Inna with an excited look.
”…Well… I guess I wouldn’t mind… accepting if it meant I got a kiss out of it…”
“Get over here kitten 😼”
—
The room feels cold and damp, unlike the Garden. The strange and unfamiliar atmosphere was enough to snap Inna awake, not even realizing he passed out at all.
“Where the fuck am I?”
There was no sunshine, only the bright fluorescent lights hurting his eyes. The once beautiful Garden, seemingly turned into a strange room with tan walls and carpet all around. He takes a look around and notices that there doesn’t seem to be any evident way out, nor any of his partners with him, only making him more concerned.
He pushes himself up. His legs more wobbly than he would’ve expected, almost as if theres a weight on him bringing him down. Nonetheless he manages to pull himself up, and start walking around.
”I, is there no, where is the exit?” He goes from room to room, each other rooms looking almost the exact same as the others, with only slight differences.
“TOKI? MACBETH? IS ANYONE HERE?”
—
“Ok so I thought you brought drugs, I didn’t realize you brought only sleep meds.” Macbeth remarks bitterly, glaring at an out of it Yael. It seems that adding the sleeping meds to the rotten orange would give a high to Yael, most likely due to the toxic mix of the mold and the meds. Macbeth would honestly follow in his footsteps with how desperate he is to get away from the reality that is his, but Yael ate the entire orange, peels and all, and promptly fell into his high.
And then despite only getting one thing of it, Inna fell into a deep sleep. His body just limp and a little cold, almost like a dead body. He’s nervous to actually try testing out his heartbeat out of fear that Inna is actually dead.
And then Toki is just in the crouched on the ground, mourning how he didn’t actually get drugs and just sleeping meds.
”That GODDAMN bastard… he couldn’t even get drugs right!” Toki punches the ground, making a big deal of it.
“Ugh. Dude calm dow-”
“HOW CAN I BE CALM! I HATE IT HERE WHY IS IT THAT SICK BASTARD THE ONE THAT GOT HIGH WHEN HE COULDN’T EVEN GET US HIGH!?” Macbeth can hear a sob, almost as if Toki is crying, which he could understand, but he refuses to admit that.
”I mean, look at that orange he had, he probably has other stuff in his room we could use.” He suggests, trying to think what things Yael could have in there. Knowing him and the mess he is, if Toki and him were dangerous enough in his room and mixed together enough things, they could potentially get high. Or die but he’s pretty sure neither of them would mind that too much.
”I’m not going to eat a rotting orange. That’s probably a more YOU thing to do…” He remarks unnecessarily, Macbeth just rolling his eyes.
“What if like… Jesus kinda liked being crucified… what if it felt like a spa day for him…?” Macbeth almost forgot about the high Yael laying on the ground behind him. How fun.
”We could crucify you and you could get a firsthand experience!”
“I mean I would… I wouldn’t mind… But I don’t think it’d work that well… I’m not exactly a good Jesus…”
”You’re telling me.”
”I think Inna would be a good fit… Let’s crucify him instead…” Toki sits up fast and glares at Yael, whose attention has redirected to the comatose Inna on the ground. “Oh he’s already dead, that’s no fun…”
Macbeth takes a deep sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose, before taking a look at both Yael and Toki.
“Ughhh, Toki c’mon, sit up, Yael, can you like, stay right there and keep an eye on Inna?”
“Don’t have to ask me twice!” He grins a bit too widely and immediately goes to staring at the Schrödinger’s Inna. “You think he’s having a good dream or no?”
Just Yael speaks, Inna lets out a slight “Help me…”
“…I’m sure the dreams are great. Give me the key to your room.” He snatches the keys from Yael’s body and turns to grab Toki, who lets out some complaints, but gets up either way.
