"Lex, Lexieee wake up..." Jack exclaimed excitedly.
Alex shifted in bed and groaned, turning over to see what had got his boyfriend in such a good mood whilst it was still dark outside.
"What time is it?" Alex spoke, his voice gruff with sleep.
"It's 3:57, you're getting up, we're going on a sunrise adventure!" Jack almost bounced around the room throwing clothes at the tired boy.
Alex groaned once more and pulled the pillow over his head, hoping for just a little more sleep before being awoken.
Jack lifted the pillow and planted a gentle kiss onto his boyfriend's lips. "Come on Lex it'll be cute."
"Fineee" said Alex roughly, "give me five minutes, and meet me at the car."
The excited boy planted another more eager kiss onto Alex's lips and bounded away to get ready.
Five minutes later, Alex trudged down the stairs, still rubbing sleep out of his eyes. He pulled himself into the car which Jack had already started and warmed. He could hear "Rock show" by Blink blasting. Smiling to himself, he remembered how they always said that song was their song, even back when they were just "best friends".
"So where are we going for this sunrise adventure then?" Alex questioned, watching his boyfriend as he drove them out of town.
"You'll find out." a small smirk grew on Jack's face, indicating he had something planned.
Alex sunk down in his seat and watched as the quiet world rolled by, knowing there was no point in trying to get information out of his love.
Eventually, Jack pulled into a small car park. The world around them was beginning to light up. The sky was aglow with an orange hue, meaning they didn't have long before sunrise.
Jack jumped out of the car and ran round to pull Alex out the other side. "Come on it's through here".
Their hands fitted into each other's as Jack dragged Alex through a small wooded path until they reached a clearing. The boys stopped and stared. Jack beamed, looking between his boyfriend and the view over the city.
"Jay... How did you even find this place? It's beautiful."
They both curled up on the grass in the clearing. Jack carefully pulled his boyfriend towards him, engulfing him in a warm hug.
They sat in silence, enjoying the sounds of the morning birds in the trees, just watching the horizon where the sun began to rise.
The whole world began glowing an orange colour as light flooded into the clearing.
Eventually, Jack spoke, "So, was I right? Was our sunrise adventure worth the wake-up?
"If I'm getting to spend time with you Jay, it's always worth it."
