Chapter Text
“Death is not the end; it’s the beginning of return.”
This was Two Time’s entire principle. The Spawn’s principle. Their salvation. Even after their big mistake. When The Spawn had come up to them with a promising opportunity to test his faith, why would they not? After all, he was a high disciple. It was a trial of seeing how he would fare exposed to non-believers, as the members The Spawn had said. There was no outcome he would succumb to the pressure of the non-initiated. Only the people of The Spawn knew the truth and they would succeed and show their true devotion to The Spawn.
They were told they were also tasked with aiding a close companion of The Spawn he hadn't recalled being in any scriptures. “The Spectre” as they would learn it was. Upon gaining this information and mission he was swiftly guided out of the sanctuary to the nightshade field by their leader. Something about their leader telling him how he was thankful for them, mentioning how they’d miss them but “deals were deals”. The correlation between the bux the leader was counting and this deal with the Spectre still stumped Two Time. They had figured the money was just from The Spawn before the memories got blurry from there.
-------------------------------
Wake up
Two Time had woken up with two things. Determination to prove themself, and this… The way to describe it was difficult. A voice that was telling him stuff? No… It was nowhere similar to the revelation of The Spawn. Implanting thoughts in his mind was a more accurate description.
They were in a woodland cabin, covered up to halfway above their head in a blanket and laid across a small sectional sofa. Shifting to look around and extending their legs straight caused their lower legs to dangle off of the small sofa.
“Oh good,” a scruffy voice he didn't recognize called out, “You’re awake.” Removing the blanket off themself letting it drip off the couch they sat up. A man with blue hair in military attire was leaning against the wall beside them. “Name's Guest 1337,” he pushed up to a stand addressing himself. “Stay calm, kid. You're probably confused and scared,” Two Time had no reason to be afraid, this was all part of The Spawn’s plan, “There are others just beside the room. We awoke here a while ago with no memory as to how and have been trying to figure out where we are ever since. You’re actually the last one awake.”
They had noticed the other voices just right on the other side of the wall now that Guest mentioned it. Tense, slightly panicked and awkward. Forced to cooperate with each other to figure out what was going on. They were already starting to miss the sanctuary, as well as the presence of… No. They had achieved respawn, even with the guilt gnawing away at their heart. The members had said The Spawn had been pleased at their devotion. It wasn't a mistake.
A large rough hand was placed on his shoulder when he noticed they were spacing out, “You alright, kid? All of us here want to make sure we've got each other's backs. We’ll get you home, promise. What’s your name?”
“....Two Time,” They hadn't gotten used to the name rolling off their tongue, even after all this time. They wouldn’t trust this non-initiated. Other members had warned him about outsiders' closed-mindedness when it came to the truth. They just needed to be a bit more open to the word of The Spawn. It was always watching afterall.
“Quiet one, I see. Well.. Nice to meet you, Two Time. Join us at the table, maybe you can shed a new perspective with your ideas.” Guest grinned at him once again turning and meeting up with the other voices. Two Time getting up and following quickly after, he turns to make sure they're following him before noticing a small detail. “Do you not have any shoes?”
…
Two Time supposes they’ve almost never been bothered by their lack of footwear.
“There is no need for concern. It is simply a test of The Spawn!” The other voices chatting seem to have faltered and the heads of other non-initiated peek out into the living room to listen to their conversation.
Guest raised his brow, “The Spawn?”
“Oh yes, The Spawn! He is the salvation to everyone who believes. His love endures in our hearts forever. It simply is a reminder to help our souls cling to the Earth. A cling to the soil to implant our rebirth.” Perhaps Two Time could take a step up from his mission and convert these non-believers? The elders might even praise them for adding new additions to their congregation.
“Interesting, so it’s a religious thing, unlike Shedletsky. You sure you’ll be alright though?” They give an affirmative hum before Guest turns to address the new people in the living room. “Hey guys, kid’s woken up now. This is Two Time, they're not much of a talker. Hey Noob, maybe you two could get along.” He chuckles as a person in the back, seemingly young, maybe even younger than him, gives a small nervous laugh back.
A gray skinned man wearing a hard hat steps aside Guest and places a hand on their shoulder. “Hey buddy. I’m Builderman. We know you're confused and you're not alone. We all woke up here with no idea where we were. But as I’ve stated with everyone else here, let's not panic right now, okay? Promise we'll do our best to figure out how to get you home.” Builderman gives them a reassuring smile, turning back to continue discussing possible ideas to get out of here.
Two Time finds it odd. They came here out of their own free will. Weren't these others also here for something too? Granted, not for the reason they were obviously not being believers of the Spawn but how come they were the only one who knew what was going on?
Before they could even open their mouth to inquire about it, a thought implanted itself into their head.
Don't
Their mouth wouldn't budge, not allowing them to ask the question. Is this the Spectre the Elder’s told them about? Despite not being able to say the words they tuned back into the conversation. “—No need to say that about them. Anyways.. Do you have anything on you, kid?” Guest asks. Two Time didn't need to know what one of the others previously said before Guest defended them. The newly-initiated always found them unnerving. It never bothered them.
They pat themselves down, sure they don't have any on them but double checking just in case.
No, nothing.
Shaking their head in denial, Guest nods. “Welp, you and I are on the same boat. Only ones that got nothing. Alright, we can probably work something out with what we have.” The military soldier shrugs it off.
“Ha, Lady Luck’s not on your guys’ side huh?” A fancy looking man with shades and fedora teases both of them. He rolls a coin around his fingers idly playing with it.
“I don't think now's not the time for that, Chance.” Some guy in a red uniform chided him before Guest assured that he didn't mind and it's all in good fun.
The roar of conversation continued. Everyone was brainstorming and trying to lift up the mood despite the situation. Two Time had to admit, they're a little scared. Being the first time they've been out of the sanctuary in a long while, around these strangers alone by themself.
It’s no matter though. The Spawn is here for their support. They will still make the elders proud. They just had to be unaffected by these outsiders for…
.
They weren't sure how long. Will the Sanctuary get him back? No! How dare they question the Sanctuary! They're to not sleep for two days for this crime.
Ba-dum
It feels like something is squeezing at their heart. Almost like somethings grabbing it
Ba-dum…
The compression gets tighter and tighter-
!
They’re filled with a phantom sensation. The feeling of their heart being pulled out but nothing is hurting them before one blink and they're standing in front of a graveyard.
Jason Voorhees
..What? What’s that supposed to mean?
The sounds of a chainsaw erupts through the air.
Notes:
Hey guys
Wanted to point this out now incase you didn't understand it
The Spawn is a hoax, the cult is simply manipulating Two Time and they sold him off to the Spectre for some quick cash but they just thought this whole "stay with non-initiated as a test" was a coverup to calm Two Time down
At least Two Time got to actually meet "The Spawn"?
You'll NEVER see Two Time refer to The Spawn as a cult tho
Chapter 2: Flesh and Bone
Summary:

Two Time Rework not a thing yet! This timeline is pretty close to when I started playing Forsaken, which was- like 3 months ago in January
This also means survivors like Dusekkar and Taph are not there yet
They will be and than after Two Time will earn his dagger
Yeah!

Chapter Text
Had the Spawn been convinced that they’ve done a good job around the outsiders and granted safe passage out of wherever they were? Are the members of the sanctuary picking them up soon?
“KID! GET OUT OF HERE!” Was that.. Guest? Oh. Well looks like The Spawn hadn't transported them back. Where were they then?
Two Time is hoisted up like a sack of rice over Guest’s shoulder. They're ready to kick and flail when they noticed a man sporting a dirty hockey mask over his face with a machete and chainsaw was chasing them. The military soldier was an astonishing runner, must be the training.
Suddenly he stopped, lurching Two Time in the process but able to keep them on his shoulder. Guest pivoted a foot to turn around and raised his arms up in a cross-like position. Hockey mask guy swung his machete up before slashing down striking Guest’s arms. “Ggh.. Damn!” Guest whispered under his breath deflecting the attack. He grabbed a hold of the killer’s wrist before thrusting his fist into his face, causing him to stumble back to recover from the punch. He repositioned Two Time comfortably on his shoulder again and ran over a bridge, through an array of walls to a mansion up a hill.
Once arriving at the front of the mansion Guest set them down after he double checked the man wasn't behind them. “Whew! Close one, kid. Have you been eating properly? You're concerningly light.”
The elders had said food had to be fasted constantly to help ease the weight on their bodies allowing an easier respawn. They said this was the reason The Spawn gave them poor harvests. It was a reminder to refrain from food. When food supplies were shorter than last year it was a sign of The Spawn’s wrath with their indulgence. Everyone would ration even more as punishment.
“It's simply another thing for The Spawn!” Two Time's grin grew wider than before.
The soldier’s brow furrowed in concern, “You seem to sacrifice a lot for this ‘Spawn’ of yours. I shouldn't be judging what you believe in but remember to take care of yourself, yeah?”
“Sacrifice” is an interesting word for it. Don't you think?
That jab was uncalled for. That grave mistake seems to haunt them forever, even in this place. Besides, it's not like they can't remember them, they’d never forget them. It's just that they don't want to. It's no matter though. The Spawn requires sacrifice and loss. His death was good for both of them. He will come back as both of them have proved nothing is holding them down. All of them were meant to die and be reborn better.
The Spectre apparently likes playing with their mind. A faint sound, almost like a chuckle is implanted in their brain. It was laughing at their thoughts. They thought The Spawn and Spectre were friends like the elders said. Why would it make fun of The Spawn? Two Time was conflicted. The Spectre seemed to disrespect The Spawn and that was clearly not something to support. Defying it would defy the elder’s wishes though.
At that thought it seemed like The Spectre's laughter got louder.
Oh dear Two Time… I have a feeling you will be quite entertaining indeed. I mean no harm to your precious “Spawn”. In fact, I heard “The Spawn” has given you a gift for your devotion. You’ll see what it is soon.
Really? The Spawn? Had acknowledged them and granted them a blessing?! Had they been granted a respawn?! All ill-feelings towards The Spectre had been long forgotten as Two Time’s face lit up with the realization that The Spawn had noticed them.
“—Ohh yeah, they're out of it.”
Snapping back out of their thoughts a chubbily built man with brown curly hair was waving his hand in their face. He also was stuffing his face with a chicken drumstick. Grease and crumbs on his shirt that Two Time instinctively backed away from. “There you are, kiddo! Stop zooming out on us, okay?” The greasy man gave them a grin.
“Why are you guys so calm about this?!” Red uniform guy yelled out. Looking around where they were it looked like all of the people previously in the cabin were here. Except.. Guest was at the base of the hill fighting that hockey mask guy. Actually, didn't The Spectre mention a name? Jason.. Vore-hees? Something like that. That's probably who the hockey guy is. “We just got teleported to the middle of nowhere with some psycho masked guy with a machete and chainsaw trying to kill us and you guys are un phased!”
“It's mostly just Shedletsky, Builderman and Guest though…” A man in an odd looking blue shirt and burger hat pointed out. Everyone seemed to ignore what he said.
Suddenly, screams pierced the air as survivors ducked away and scattered. Jason had quit attacking the soldier that was following behind him and went for the group of people. Guest clutched at his forearm as blood seeped through onto his fingers sucking in a breath. Red uniform guy handed him a pizza which Guest was thankful for as he ate it and looked slightly better. Two Time hasn't tried pizza much. “Watch out, I can't block,” Guest warned.
One of Jason’s eyes glow red through his mask flashing violently. Chicken man runs forward and swings out a sword, slashing Jason. He's unphased, like it didn't even scratch him. “What?!”
“Did you miss your sword?” Builderman panicked out as Jason looked around for his next target.
“No, Dave! You obviously saw that I didn't!” Sweat drips down Chicken man’s face as his hands twitch around his sword unable to grab it again. “Kiddo! Watch out!” Noob’s limbs are twitching as freeze has won in the fight or flight battle. Jason was ready to strike.
Guest gets in front of Noob taking the hit for him. Two strikes of his machete hit. Jason reaches behind his back revving his chainsaw to life to deal another slash with it before driving it straight into Guest’s stomach. A wave of blood is vomited out of the soldier's mouth as Jason does one last kick to him for good measure and Guest’s limp body lies on the ground.
Two Time was no stranger to blood nor death. They watched the puddle spread out under the soldier’s body. The body was slowly becoming more transparent, almost like it was fading away. Was this The Spectre’s doing?
All the other survivors had fled like birds flying away when you got too close. Jason was looking directly at them. They couldn't help but grin. “Two Time! Get out of there!” Builderman had yelled from a bridge right down the hill.
A chuckle wormed itself out of their throat. They're legs moved to sprint past Jason as uncontrollable laughter bellowed out of them into the air. They ran down the hill on the opposite side of the lake to where most of the other survivors had fled. Crossing the bridge they felt the cold mental rush against their back. Are they bleeding? The stinging burn of the cut ran down their back from their shoulder to their lower abdomen.
Hit one.
Their laughter grew from the pain giving them a sense of thrill as they headed towards a cliff with a small temple at the top. Opting to run around it they got halfway around before they realised Jason had run from the other side to cut them off. A swing was aimed right at their throat. Missing, but still landing right across their collar bones.
Hit two.
Oh dear, Spawn. They're going to die. When they went back around they spotted the other survivors waving their arms around telling Two Time to come to them.
Chance raised their arm holding a flintlock before he pulled the trigger. A sweat dripped down his cheek before a small boom sound was heard and sparks were sent flying. “Tsk- Dang it! Shed, you got this!” Chance shielded his face from the blast of his gun.
Bullets from a metallic machine started pelting Jason, slowing him down. Only thing was, Two Time couldn't run anymore. Their legs slowed down as they started panting.
Hit three.
White clouded their vision.
Oh, Spawn- It hurt- It hurt- IT HURTS!
It was hard to hear over the pain he was feeling but a slash rang through the air. “Look at me! Come and get me, weirdo!” Chicken man- Shedletsky? Shedletsky called out, dashing away with Jason’s loud footsteps following behind him.
Pressure was pressing all around their back. They couldn't tell if they were screaming or laughing. It almost felt like they were a balloon about to pop.
The pressure erupted from their back. Their vision cleared up as they could see their hands again. Fists and nails full of dirt as they were gripping at the ground. Dear Spawn, they were screaming. They were definitely screaming.
Slowly regaining consciousness their screaming had turned into hysterics. Spawn, the pain was terrible. But the pain was good. A reminder they were still alive. Was this what respawning felt like? This was what the elders had been preparing them for, and it was worth it.
“Oh my Telamon…” Whispers and voices gathered around. Looking around them they noticed things protruding out of their back. A pair of wings and a tail made out of flesh and bone. These must be the gift from The Spawn, plus the reason for their previous pain.
“Ahh.. uhh… Two Time?” They stood up as everyone stepped back from them. Afraid from the rather gruesome display they witnessed. “Do you want a pizza? It could heal you..” Oh! It was Red uniform pizza guy!
Pizza was something they haven't tried much but oddly enough healing isn't something they needed. “No, need! I am perfectly alright. The Spawn has helped me out indeed. Your pizza is unnecessary!”
“Are- Are you sure? You kind of uhm-” Red uniform pizza guy points to their wings, “You didn't have those before…”
“I assure you I feel adequate. Concern is not needed for The Spawn is on my side!” Their grin grows wider as they feel heard and accepted by The Spawn, who has granted them a respawn.
“Right… Whatever you say.”

You truly are an interesting one aren't you, Two Time? I have a feeling we'll get along well.
One blink and they're right back in the cabin. Sitting up from a table as if walking up from a mutual dream.
Guest rushes in from the living room. He’s alive.
