(Quick headcannon warning. I have two or so headcannons that I am going to show during my Soukoku married AU story. So here they are. One is wholesome and one is kinda weird but I feel it kinda makes sense??)

(First, the wholesome headcannon is that Chuuya cross dresses. He prefers to wear women’s clothes because they fit his body shape [And size] better. He would wear male clothes because he didn’t feel comfortable expressing himself as much. But once he started dating Dazai, Dazai encouraged Chuuya to not be afraid to express himself[He also made a joke about Chuuya dressing like that to get Dazai horny if he wanted to] and Chuuya eventually gave in, now he cross dresses when at home, but still wears male clothing when at work or leaving the house to go anywhere but maybe the mall.)

(Second, the kinda weird one, but I’m putting this because it is relevant in my AU. Chuuya, when being a lab rat[ 😭 ], the scientists didn’t want to risk succeeding, only for them not to find another person strong enough for them to succeed with again. And (in my own personal belief) the mother is more likely to pass on the strength and resilience, than the father. So some surgeries happened and the scientists made Chuuya capable of female and male reproduction [don’t think to much into it]. Chuuya does get periods, but it’s not as bad as a normal woman’s periods, and he’s often able to just put in a tampon for the day and ignore it. Sometimes he gets a mood, but nothing to bad. Also, a warning for this collection of days or whatever. I will us ‘C’ instead of the actual C word when describing stuff in smut scenes, because I don’t know if I’m allowed to say the C word. But I will only say it to help describe how Dazai is fucking Chuuya[never thought I’d say those words]. Or just Chuuya is trans, born fem but he/him.)

(Those are my two important head cannons for this AU. Now to the sneak peak)

Before the kids (they’ve currently been dating for about a year or so.) Smut Warning

“Chibi! I’m home!” Dazai called as he entered the house. He hung up his coat, as Chuuya usually berated him to do, and walked through the house to the kitchen. He found Chuuya wearing one of his casual shirts, and a skirt.

Dazai smirked, walking up behind Chuuya and wrapping his arms around his waist from behind.

“Is Chibi trying to seduce me?” He teased. Chuuya sighed, stabbing the knife he was holding, into the steak he had been preparing, the knife stood up and Dazai silently regretted teasing his boyfriend, but quickly shook it off as Chuuya turned to him and rubbed his hands over Dazai’s chest, moving up to Dazai’s shoulders and massaging them softly, squeezing at certain points just to be a pain.

“I don’t need a skirt to seduce you, Dazai Osamu.” He whispered. Dazai laughed softly, his hands on Chuuya’s waist, he squeezed softly.

“That’s what I like best about you, my love.” He whispered, nuzzling into Chuuya’s neck. Chuuya blushed slightly.

“What are you doing?” He huffed.

“Loving you.” Dazai answered, pulling Chuuya away from the counter and towards the other room.

“I’m making dinner, Samu.” Chuuya mumbled, Dazai grinned, kissing Chuuya on the cheek.

“Dinner can wait.” He whispered, leading Chuuya to the bedroom. Chuuya quieted his protests, deciding to just go along with it.

Once in the bedroom, he and Dazai stripped before getting into bed. Chuuya finished stripping first, watching as Dazai removed his bandages as well. Dazai then sat down next to Chuuya. Dazai grabbed Chuuya’s hips and pulled the older onto his lap.

“We’ll make this quick. Okay?” Chuuya whispered, his hands cupping Dazai’s face.

“Yup.” He agreed, kissing Chuuya on the lips, Chuuya kissed back, feeling as one of Dazai’s hands moved to his ass, squeezing, he tensed slightly, but just focused on the kiss.

Dazai pulled Chuuya down, pushing into Chuuya slowly without stretching him out before.

“Ah!~” Chuuya moaned, his hands slipping to Dazai’s back and starting to scratch as he felt Dazai’s cock push into his tight sex

“Chuuya’s so tight.” Dazai said, his voice rough.

“That’s cause you didn’t prepare me.” Chuuya hissed after a moan. Dazai smirked softly, picking Chuuya up till just the tip was still in his boyfriend, before pulling Chuuya back down, burying himself to the hilt.

Chuuya let out a gutturale moan, his eyes rolling back in his head as his hands scratched along Dazai’s back for a grip. Dazai groaned, rocking his hips against Chuuya.

“Your so addicting, baby.” Dazai whispered, Chuuya moaned again, leaning against Dazai, his cock twitching against Dazai’s stomach.

Dazai smirked softly, one hand starting to stroke Chuuya’s cock. “Are you close?” He asked, Chuuya moaned weakly, unable to form words from the pleasure.

Dazai smirked, squeezing Chuuya’s cock one last time before Chuuya came onto his hands and stomach. Dazai stroked Chuuya’s cock through his climax, till Chuuya calmed down. And with that, he picked Chuuya up, pulling out of Chuuya and setting him on the ground, on his knees, between Dazai’s legs.

“Chu Chu~” Dazai hummed teasing, looking down at Chuuya. Chuuya didn’t hesitate as he crawled closer, setting his hands on Dazai’s thighs and licking the pre-cum off Dazai’s tip, before taking a bit of Dazai’s cock in his mouth.

Dazai moaned, his hand tangling in Chuuya’s hair and pushing Chuuya farther down.

Chuuya choked as Dazai’s cock hit the back of his mouth, tears in his eyes. It didn’t take much longer for Dazai to cum in Chuuya’s mouth, a bit of saliva and cum slipping from Chuuya’s lips, but he swallowed most of it. Dazai bucked his hips forward, fucking Chuuya’s face through his climax.

Once his climax calmed down, Chuuya pulled away from Dazai’s cock, the now softened length slipping from his mouth with a pop. Chuuya rested the side of his head against Dazai’s thigh. He closed his eyes feeling Dazai’s hand cup his chin, Chuuya opened his eyes as Dazai wiped Chuuya’s lip with his thumb and brought his thumb to his own mouth, licking it clean.

“I love you, Chuuya.” Dazai whispered, picking Chuuya up in his arms and taking him to the bathroom, setting him down on the edge of the bathtub and starting the water going as he started to clean Chuuya up with a washcloth and some soap.

With the kids(Married for over at least 17 years):

“Chibi! Nat! Rei! Mila! I’m home!” Dazai called as he entered the house. He removed his shoes and coat, hanging his coat up next to the others, and setting his shoes next to the other pairs. He held the bag in his hand and walked through the house, stopping in the living room to see Natasha.

The eldest, a 16 year old girl. Blue eyes like Chuuya, and brown hair like Dazai. Her hair reached her waist. She sat on the couch, wrapped in blankets and watching one of her comfort shows.

Dazai sighed and walked into the room, sitting down next to her, setting the bag on the ground.

“You feeling any better?” He whispered, wrapping an arm around her. Natasha huffed.

“Barely. What do you want.” She scowled. Dazai frowned, looking back and noticing Chuuya standing in the doorway, wearing an oversized shirt and jean shorts. His hair in a ponytail. His hat was missing, so Mila had probably ‘stolen’ it.

The look on Chuuya’s face told Dazai that Natasha had been like this all day. Missing school to period cramps was never fun for Natasha.

Dazai grabbed the bag and held out a bag of chocolates to Natasha.

“Would this help?” Dazai looked over at Natasha. She looked at the bag before snatching it and opening it, starting to eat. Dazai laughed softly. Picking up the bag and standing up.

“I’ll put the other stuff in the bathroom.” He said, Natasha ignored him.

Dazai excepted that, walking past Chuuya to the bathroom. Chuuya followed.

“She’s been struggling all day. Thanks Samu.” Chuuya mumbled, Dazai smiled.

“I’m amazing like that.”

“Don’t get a big head.” Chuuya laughed. Dazai put away the rest of the supplies he had gotten for Natasha, and him and Chuuya fell into conversation until someone shouted from behind Dazai.

“Look Mila!!! It’s the evil villain trying to steal Fathers attention from us!!” It was Rei. Dazai turned around, looking at the 12 year old boy, with brown eyes and brown hair, almost an exact copy of Dazai. Aside from his choice of copying Chuuya and keeping his hair long enough for a ponytail.

Next to Rei stood Mila. The seven year old girl. Their youngest. With ginger hair like Chuuya’s, just a bit darker, in a braid down her back, and blue eyes.

She laughed at Rei’s words.

“We’ll save you Mama!” She squealed. Chuuya laughed, smiling as he set his arm over his forehead.

“Oh! Mighty heroes! You’ve come to save me from this evil villain trying to steal away my attention!” He laughed, playing along, Dazai smirked, blocking the path between Rei and Mila, and Chuuya.

“Hahaha! It is I! The villain! No one can save Chuuya from my grasp! I’ll win his attention from you two and be the true ruler of the house!” He played along. Mila laughed and Rei grinned.

“Not on my watch! Foul creature!” He called, charging at Dazai. Dazai quickly dodged, pretending to be to distracted by Rei to notice Mila running over to Chuuya. Chuuya picked her up and spun her around.

“I’m saved!” He cried, laughing with Mila as he set her down. Dazai fell to his knees.

“Noooo! I’ve been defeated!” He called out. Rei smirked, walking over to Chuuya and giving him a high five. Mila walked up to Dazai and pat him on the shoulder.

“Better luck next time.”

(How do you like it? Kinda long, but I won’t have all the days this long. I just wrote his after school, for my sneak peak chapter. Tell me what you think! Thanks!)

Chapter 2: 1

Summary:

Part 1

Chapter Text

Chuuya walked through the halls of the Port Mafia base.

“Boss.” A subordinate bows as he passes, Chuuya nods back, continuing to walk. He fixes his hat before opening the door and stepping into his office, he knew something was going to happen.

“Happy Anniversary!” Q called, running up to him and hugging his waist.

“Surprise.” Kouyou smiles, walking up to Chuuya, with Natasha at her side.

Gin and Akutagawa stand next to each other behind the two women.

“What’s this?” Chuuya sets his hand up on Q’s head. Q let’s go and steps back.

“Anniversary of when you became the leader of the Port Mafia.” Kouyou smirks.

“Three years. How does it feel?” Akutagawa asked, his arms crossed. Chuuya let himself smile.

“Overwhelming. But it’s been better with help from you guys.” Chuuya responded, messing up his own hair.

“We are pretty awesome.” Q smiled, Chuuya grinned.

“Don’t get a big head.” He teased.

Gin smiles, holding out a card. Chuuya takes the card and opens it.

The card said “Happy Anniversary” and was signed by all five of them.

“Thank you.” He smiled.

The rest of the day, Gin had decided to do Chuuya’s paperwork for him, and Akutagawa, Kouyou, Q and Natasha joined Chuuya as he visited subordinates in the Port Mafia.

At the end of the day, Natasha and Chuuya walked home, talking absently together. Chuuya unlocked and opened the door to their house, stepping inside and finding Dazai standing there with a cake.

He grinned. “Happy Anniversary of Killing Mori!” He smiled. Chuuya laughed to himself, watching Mila run past Dazai and clinging to Chuuya.

“Happy anniversary of killing Mori-Guy!” She smiled, Chuuya picked her up in his arms and smiled.

“I’m honored.” He laughed. Rei walked up behind Dazai, phone in hand.

“Father didn’t make cake. He poisoned the first one on accident, burnt the second one and undercooked the third one. So me and Mila kicked him out of the kitchen and made the cake ourselves.” He smirked, clearly texting someone.

“You didn’t have to say that.” Dazai complained, Rei shrugged. Natasha walked up to Dazai and pat his shoulder.

“Better luck next time.” She walked past him to get plates for the cake.

“Seriously?!” Dazai shouted after her. Chuuya walked up to Dazai, Mila in one arm as he kissed Dazai on the cheek.

“Thank you.” He smiled genuinely. Dazai’s expression brightened and Rei quickly took the cake before he dropped it.

“Anything for you, Chibiko.” Dazai responded teasingly, Chuuya rolled his eyes.

“Ya, go fu-…” Chuuya looked back down at Mila for a moment before looking back at Dazai. “… Go fuzzle yourself.” He corrected himself before swearing in front of his child.

Dazai smirked. “With pleasure-”

“-Don’t. Let’s go have cake.” Chuuya grabbed Dazai’s arm with his free hand and dragged him to the dinning room, finding Rei and Natasha cutting the cake up into slices for each of them.

Chuuya smiled, watching as Rei teased Natasha and Natasha barely reacted.

“Cake!” Mila called, dropping from Chuuya’s arm and running over to her siblings, grabbing a cake and running to the small round table in the kitchen outlook, Rei called out to her to be careful with the cake and Natasha just watched cautiously.

Chapter Text

“It’s great to see you again, Nakahara-Kun.” The boy sat across from Chuuya, Chuuya smirked, pouring the boy some ice water and holding it out to him.

“It’s been some time since we’ve had a meeting, hasn’t it?” Chuuya agreed, the boy took the water and drank a bit.

“How has the Port Mafia been?” The boy asked.

“Akutagawa and Marigold haven’t told you?” Chuuya questioned, the other sighed.

“Sadly, the two keep me in the dark on the Port Mafia’s business. Probably don’t want to make you angry.” The other sighed. Chuuya chuckled.

“Am I really that scary?”

“Please, Nakahara-Kun. Your not that (blind?).” The other responded, Chuuya smirked.

“Well, to answer your question, the Port Mafia has been doing quite well. With the help of the Armed Detectives Agency, of course. Both of our groups have really grown from the full time partnership we’ve built.” Chuuya smiled.

“I’m happy for you, Nakahara-Kun.” The boy nodded, taking another sip of the water. Chuuya leaned back, grinning at the boy.

“I remember when you were just a young 18 year old boy, new to the Armed Detectives Agency yet smart enough to know what needed to be done. No wonder the Agency’s Linchpin (talking about Ranpo) decided to make you President after he got ‘bored’ of the role.” Chuuya complimented. The boy laughed, ruffling the hair on the back of his head.

“Thanks, Nakahara-Kun. You flatter me.”

“I’m only telling the truth, Man-tiger.” Chuuya responded calmly.

(Time skip sponsored by Atsushi’s gayness)

“President, how did the meeting go?” Juniper stopped in front of Atsushi after he entered.

“Huh? Oh, it went well-” He started, Rei walked up behind Juniper.

“Don’t crowd him, June.” He rolled his eyes.

“Stop being such a jerk! I can do whatever I want to my dad!” Juniper snapped back, turning to face Rei.

“At least when Akutagawa isn’t around.” Rei teased, wiggling his eyebrows. Juniper was about to snap again but Atsushi set a hand on her head.

“Juni(pronounced June-ie). Let it go.” He smiled softly, Juniper huffed and crossed her arms.

“He started it.” She mumbled.

“I know, I know.” Atsushi sighed. “Rei, go help Nathanial, he’s probably still trying to get some papers. Juni, go meet up with Kyouka and Kenji and join them on their mission. Dazai and Kunikida will take over you three’s mission, since you two clearly can’t get along right now.”

“What! But I’ve been looking forward to that commission since we got it!” Rei shouted, Atsushi shot him a look and Rei quickly retreating to the room Nathanial had entered about half an hour earlier.

Atsushi turned to Juniper, his fingers moving through her boy-short white hair, which had pink highlights in it that she had gotten before returning to the agency after a certain mission she had gone on with Rei and Nathanial.

“Juni. Look it me, Sweetie.” He sighed. Juniper huffed before looking up at Atsushi. Juniper was short for a 14 year old. Despite being the oldest of her triplet of friends, Rei, Nathanial and her, she was shorter than Rei, who was turning 13 that month, and just two inches taller than Nathanial, who had turned 13 two months previously.

“I don’t get it. You always make me join Uncle Kenji and Auntie Kyouka.” She scowled. Atsushi sighed.

“I know. But when you get argumentative, I always need to prioritize your own and everyone else’s safety. I’m sorry.” Atsushi responded, kneeling down to one knee in front of her, now looking up at her. He moved his hand to her shoulder.

“You know I care about you, right?” He whispered. She sighed and nodded.

“Ya…”

“Good. Do you want a hug?” Atsushi smiled hopefully. Juniper looked at him before hugging him and then pulling away.

“I’ll go join Kenji and Kyouka.” She turned and started to leave.

“Be safe.” Atsushi called. Juniper didn’t respond as she left.

(Meanwhile with Rei and Nathanial. This feels like a longer day today, but hang with me Pookies)

“Need help?” Rei smirked as he entered the room, finding Nathanial standing atop a chair, balancing on one foot, trying to reach the top shelf to get a stack of papers.

Nathanial jumped, falling off the chair and Rei used his ability, causing Nathanial to land on a shadow that lowered him to the ground. Nathanial quickly stood up, turning to Rei.

“I- Tha- Uh- thanks.” He mumbled, looking away. Rei smirked, stepping forward and holding his pointer finger out, tilting Nathanial’s chin up.

“Just a thank you?” He teased, Nathanial’s face flushed red but he give a quick kiss to Rei’s cheek.

Rei smiled, pulling away and stepping past Nathanial, getting onto the chair and grabbing the paper’s he was trying to get.

“Your welcome, Nathan.” He smirked as he grab some of the papers the other had already gotten and waited for Nathanial to grab the rest before the two left the room, Nathanial still blushing slightly.

Rei noticed Ranpo looking at them and smirked, he elbowed Nathanial slightly.

“Your dads looking.” He whispered.

“Don’t remind me.” Nathanial whispered back.

Chapter Text

“How has the Armed Detective Agency been without me?” The older man asked calmly, sipping on some tea, it was to early for alcohol.

“You ask this every time I visit.” Ranpo sighed, half laying on the table, his head sideways on his arm.

“And?”

Ranpo huffed, sitting up straight and looking at the older. “Well, what do I have to say? Nakajima is doing a great job as president. Kyouka and Kenji are good together, their thinking of adoption. Kunikida and Dazai are still… Kunikida and Dazai. And the New Gen is doing good.” Ranpo responded, flicking a random marble and catching it before it slid of the table.

“Good. How are Nathan and Poe?” The older questioned, unbothered by Ranpo’s distraction.

“Poe is being Poe, and Nathan is being his shy self. Nothing new. But Kid Dazai is flirting more openly with him. Really pissing me off.” Ranpo furrowed his brow as he snatched the marble again, his cheek resting against his other fisted hand. “Next thing I know I’m gonna be finding hints that Nathan’s sneaking out to meet up with the boy at night.”

“Kids grow up so fast, don’t they.” The older nodded.

“They sure do.” Ranpo huffed as one of the older’s cats got onto his lap and layed down. He rolled his eyes and refocused on flicking and catching the marble.

“You’re not ready for him to grow up yet?” The older questioned, Ranpo sighed.

“I just… I thought I’d have more time with him as a kid. He only just recently turned 13 and he has a boyfriend, already.” Ranpo huffed.

“Growing up is a part of life.”

“I know that! But why can’t he be a kid for longer??” Ranpo snapped, half laying in the table again.

“Maybe you should try to spend more time with him while you can…” The older responded. Ranpo studied him for a moment before he grinned.

“You’re a genius! Thanks Fukuzawa-San!” Ranpo stood up and rushed out of the room, the older caught the cat as it jumped from Ranpo’s lap in a desperate attempt to not fall off.

“Anytime, kid. Come back next weekend.” Fukuzawa called back, letting the cat settle into his arms as he watched Ranpo leave.

(Time skip brought to you by… Ranpo still being childish even after adopting a son)

“Kids? Seriously? The Armed Detectives Agency sent us kids to help? This is a murder case.” The older man crossed his arms. Juniper huffed.

“Just because we’re kids doesn’t mean we aren’t trustworthy!” She snapped, Rei nodded behind her, Nathanial shuffled a bit closer to Rei. Rei noticed and smirked before refocusing on the man.

“But of course, if you don’t want our help, we could always leave and tell Atsushi-Dono that you clearly don’t need help from the Armed Detectives Agency.” Rei smirked, the man was silent before huffing.

“Fine, follow me.”

“That’s what a thought.” Juniper smirked, Rei grinned, walking past her and shoving her slightly out of the way.

“Idiot.” She rolled her eyes but followed behind, Nathanial trailed the two.

The man lead them to a dead body, Juniper crouched down, looking it over.

“Nathanial. Can you solve this?” She looked up at him. Nathanial stepped forward, looking over the body and then around the area. He smirked softly and turned to her.

“You can’t? It’s pretty obvious to me.”

“Don’t get a big head. Just solve the case.” Juniper huffed back, Nathanial sighed and pointed to one of the officers.

“He did it. He’s nervous, shaky, and he’s standing pretty far away, trying to avoid close inspection from us. Plus, his gun is in the wrong pocket. Every officer puts their gun in their right pocket at the start of the day, even left handers. Left handed officers often put their gun back into the left hold after using it and he had no reason to use it but to kill. And the body still looks new.” Nathanial said calmly. Everyone was silent before Rei and Juniper smirked.

“There, case solved.” Rei smirked.

The man turned to the officer. “Is this true?”

The officer started to run, but Rei used his ability, the second the man was near a shadow, Rei used the shadow to wrap around his ankle.

“That was easy.” Juniper smirked, standing up.

“It always is.” Rei responded. Nathanial looked between the two, shuffling closer to Rei.

Chapter Text

“I hate homework.” Rei huffed as he walked with Natasha, the two making their way to Mila’s elementary school to pick her up and then wait for Dazai to get them.

“Maybe ask Chuuya to do it for you, it’s your birthday, he might do it.” Natasha shrugged, an absent look on her face.

“You really think so?” Rei’s face lit up.

“No. But he’ll probably help.” Natasha responded duly.

“He always helps!”

“Huh… guess you aren’t getting special treatment for your birthday then.” Natasha shrugged. Despite her seemingly emotionless façade, Rei could just feel the sarcasm emitting from her words.

“Ha ha. Very funny.” Rei rolled his eyes, pulling out his phone.

Rei: What u up to?

“I know. I’m hilarious.” Natasha responded sarcastically, ignoring Rei on his phone as the two turned the block and picked up their pace to make it to the elementary school.

Rei scrolled through his phone as he waited for a response.

Natasha and Rei stopped in front of Mila’s school, waiting for the bell to ring. Natasha pulled out a book and started to read while Rei continued to scroll through his phone.

Finally, he got a response. And right before the bell rang, two.

Nathan-ial: Home school. You?

Rei: Waiting for Mila to get out of school and then for dad to pick us up.

Nathan-ial: Tell Mila I said hi

Rei: I will

Nathan-ial: gtg. Back to school

Rei: love you

Nathan-ial: Love you two

“Who are you texting?” Mila walked up to Rei and Natasha.

“Huh? Just Nathan. He says hi, btw.” Rei responded, looking down at Mila.

“Oh, tell him I said hi back!” Mila laughed.

Rei smirked and quickly texted Nathanial a “Mila says hi back” before putting his phone away.

“Hey, you kids wanna get in my car?” Someone walked up to him, Rei turned and huffed, Natasha spoke first.

“Don’t act like a creep, dad.” She walked past Dazai and opened the front passenger door, getting in the car.

“Was it really that weird?” Dazai mumbled, Rei walked past with Mila.

“Ya.” He shrugged. Dazai sighed and walked around to the drivers side, getting in and waiting for Mila and Rei to strap in before starting to drive home.

(At home)

“Happy birthday, Kid.” Chuuya ruffled Rei’s hair when he walked inside. Rei laughed.

“Thanks” He grinned.

Dazai helped Mila hang her backpack and Mila hugged Rei. “Happy Birthday!”

“I was waiting.” Rei teased.

They preceded with a cake and some gifts. Chuuya somehow managed to convince Rei to do his math homework and everyone went to sleep.

Chapter Text

“I win! Ha! Skill issue!” Rei shouted triumphantly, jumping up and laughing at Chuuya. Chuuya looked up at Rei silently. The boy quickly sat back down and refocused on the TV, avoiding Chuuya’s gaze.

“Rei, you won 1 out of 3 so far, and you have three more to go. You have to win the next three in order to win.” Natasha spoke from the couch, laying on her back and reading a book of hers.

Rei rolled his eyes, refocusing on the screen and picking the next three race courses from Mario Kart(only because I play it and I feel like from my interpretation of Rei he would definitely play it).

Mila stood behind Chuuya, a bunch of different colored sharpies in her hand as she drew designs along Chuuya’s shoulder.

Chuuya was wearing jean shorts, tall fishnet socks(totally just to tease Dazai, lol), and a cardigan that Mila had pulled off one shoulder so she could draw on that part of Chuuya.

Chuuya ignored Mila’s doodling as he let Rei pick the next three courses and then him and Rei picked their characters before starting the race.

Chuuya won all three.

“Hey Rei.” Chuuya spoke up softly as Rei stood up to turn the Nintendo connected to the TV off.

“Ya Ma?”(Rei calls Chuuya Ma. So cute🥰. I love Chuuya with his kids) Rei looked back at Chuuya.

“Me beating you 1 to 5… is kind of a skill issue.” He smirked. Rei stared at Chuuya before laughing.

“Okay, okay. You got me.” Rei rolled his eyes and Chuuya grinned.

“I’m going to bed, hopefully I can fall asleep before Father and dad start at it.” Natasha started to walk to her room before returning and picking Mila up. “And I’m bringing her with me.” She added.

Mila pouted, but waved goodbye to Chuuya and Rei as Natasha carried her away.

Chuuya frowned. “Are me and Dazai really that loud?” He asked Rei, picking up the sharpies and putting them away.

“Huh? Oh, no. Dad’s not loud. Your loud.” Rei responded, smirking. Chuuya paused before turning back to look at Rei. Rei laughed awkwardly. “I was joking-” Chuuya smacked him(lightly) in the back of the head.

Chuuya dusted off his hand and walked away. “I recommend you get to sleep. I won.” He said calmly. Rei sighed and went to his room. Hiding his head under his pillow.

Chuuya, on the other hand, made it to his and Dazai’s room and opened the door, slipping inside. “The kids are asleep-” he started, he saw Dazai, eyes closed on the bed. Chuuya sighed and closed the door, walking over and crawling into bed, cuddling close to Dazai, slipping into Dazai’s limp arms. “Bastard.” Chuuya whispered as he kissed Dazai’s neck lightly, closing his eyes.

Dazai was still for a moment before slowly wrapping his arms around Chuuya and kissing one of the doodles on Chuuya’s shoulder. “Mila?” Dazai checked.

“Mila.” Chuuya confirmed, tensing slightly when Dazai wrapped his arms around him.

“Did you really think I was asleep?” Dazai smirked, looking up at Chuuya(Dazai had leaned down to kiss Chuuya’s shoulder and had remained leaning down to look up at Chuuya. Dazai is not short in this AU).

“Shut up.” Chuuya responded, running a hand through Dazai’s hair and kissing his forehead softly. Dazai hummed, nuzzling his face against Chuuya’s neck.

(Smut warning; skip if you want. I might be using the C word and other words like that in smut scene from now on, but only because I’m pretty sure I can use it. Idk. It’s technically just another swear word, right? My mom's just really serious about it so idk.)

Dazai nipped at Chuuya’s neck softly, eyes closed, before pulling back and opening his eyes, looking down at Chuuya and kissing him on the lips, closing his eyes once again.

Chuuya kissed Dazai back, hand moving to Dazai’s cheek as the two made out.

Dazai rolled over so Chuuya was beneath him, straddling the other as his hands moved along Chuuya’s sides, squeezing a weak point on Chuuya’s waist, causing Chuuya’s back to arch slightly.

Dazai smirked, his lips continuing to move against Chuuya’s as his hands stopped squeezing Chuuya’s waist and they moved up, his thumbs gently caressing the skin right below Chuuya’s breasts.

Dazai pulled away, looking down at Chuuya with a smirk before capturing Chuuya’s lips in another kiss as his hands moved back down, squeezing Chuuya’s hips before slipping down to his thighs and then slipping up under Chuuya’s shorts, gripping his ass.

Chuuya’s hands moved up and his fingers tangled into Dazai’s hair, Dazai moved his hands out from Chuuya’s shorts and instead moved to Chuuya’s front, slowly palming Chuuya through his shorts. Chuuya groaned against Dazai’s lips, his legs spreading slightly as he tugged at Dazai’s hair.

“I love you so much.” Dazai whispered as he pulled away from the kiss, moving his lips down and kissing down Chuuya’s neck as his hands undid Chuuya’s shorts, pulling them down and off, tossing them to the side as Dazai sucked and bit at Chuuya’s neck.

“Nygh~ greedy bastard~” Chuuya moaned softly, not stopping his insults, even in the bedroom. Dazai smirked, his hands slipping into Chuuya’s boxers and wrapping around his length, stroking slowly.

“Your so cute~ Chibi” Dazai responded, pulling away to look down at Chuuya as he moaned softly. Dazai felt his own cock hardening, his pants growing tight.

Dazai slipped one hand away from Chuuya’s cock and slid it farther down to circle Chuuya’s sex. He slipped one finger in, and then two. Starting to scissor Chuuya slowly as he captured Chuuya’s lips in another kiss, which Chuuya quickly reciprocated.

(My teacher walked by and I decided to stop for the day. Basically, they finished having sex, they took a bath together and then went to sleep and Chuuya woke up the next day with sore legs 😊)

Chapter Text

“Mila, you ready?” Chuuya walked into the girls room, Mila pulled her shoes on and ran over, grabbing Chuuya’s hand. She was wearing a white shirt, blue skirt and jean jacket. Her ginger hair was in a braid, same as Chuuya’s. Chuuya, wore blue jeans and an oversized black shirt.

“Yup!” She smiled, Chuuya squeezed the girls hand and the two left the room, down the hall and to the living room.

“Me and mama will be back!” Mila called, trying to drag Chuuya out the door, which he easily resisted.

Dazai walked over and set his chin atop Chuuya’s head, hands on his waist. “Love you Chibi~” He whispered.

“I’ll be gone for like, two hours.” Chuuya responded, he was silent before huffing. “But… love you two, idiot.” Chuuya then pulled away, waving bye to Natasha and Rei before letting Mila drag him out of the house, he quickly grabbed his hat on the way out.

“So, what do you want to do today?” Chuuya looked down at the girl, she looked back up at him, stars in her eyes.

“Ice cream” she grinned, Chuuya ruffled her hair.

“Ice cream, sure.” He smirked as she pulled him along to the closet ice cream place, which she coincidentally knew the way to.

“One chocolate! Two scoop-” Mila proclaimed confidently, but Chuuya interrupted.

“Kids scoop for her, please.” He corrected, she huffed as Chuuya took out his wallet.

The man behind the counter laughed and got her the kids scoop of chocolate, she took it. (The way it looked to be spelled in my notebook made it look like “too kit”😭)

“And anything for you?” The man asked Chuuya.

“No thank you, nothing for me.” Chuuya shook his head, holding his card out. The man took it, giving it back. “Thank you.” Chuuya looked around for Mila, she was gone.

Chuuya sighed, waving goodbye to the man and leaving, standing outside, hands in his pockets.

“Oh~, I’d love to take my daughter shopping, but she seems to have disappeared… I guess I’ll just head home.” He sighed, turning and starting to walk home.

“NO! I wanna go shopping!” Mila cried, running up behind Chuuya, ice cream in hand.

“There you are.” Chuuya turned back, setting his hand in Mila’s hair.

“Liar.” Mila huffed, Chuuya smiled.

“Come on, let’s go shopping.” He turned and started walking again, Mila followed.

“Mama! I want that skirt!” Mila called, pointing at a teal skirt.

“Sure, if there’s one your size.” Chuuya responded, walking up to it and looking for one Mila’s size, he found it and picked it up, holding it in the same hand as the rest of the things the girl had asked for.

Kouyou had once told Chuuya he spoiled Mila to much, but she wasn’t to bratty… yet.

Chuuya paid for everything, putting it all in a bag and let Mila carry it.

“Okay, now that we have everything for you, mama had to get something.” Chuuya looked down at Mila, she side eyed him, raising an eyebrow. “Uh… Mama needs to get a new pair of earrings.” Chuuya added.

“Can I get my ears pierced?” Mila asked, her eyes widening as she forgot about her earlier suspicion.

“Maybe when your older.” Chuuya answered, Mila huffed.

“Fine.” She glared at the ground, Chuuya sighed, ruffling her hair.

The two entered the jewelry place, walking over to one of the displays and looking over the earrings there.

“What’s the occasion?” Mila questioned after a while, eyes wide with awe as she examined the earrings through the glass.

“Don’t touch the glass.” Chuuya reminded before answering her. “Mama and Papa are going on a date this weekend, so mama wants to look extra pretty.”

“But mama’s always pretty.” Mila shot back, looking up at Chuuya, Chuuya looked back down at her with a soft smile.

“Thank you Mila.” He thanked, Mila smiled back.

The two finished the shopping day, getting Chuuya his earrings and returning home.

Chapter Text

“We’ll be back late, so don’t stay up for us.” Chuuya told the three kids.

“Fine.” Mila huffingly(New word guys. Fr, when I wrote this at school I thought it was a real word… IT IS NOW!!!) agreed.

“Sure.” Rei shrugged, typing a response to something on his phone.

“Don’t worry, we won’t.” Natasha agreed.

Chuuya hugged Natasha, “Keep them safe if anything happens.” He whispered, Natasha nodded.

“You can trust me, Father.”

Chuuya stepped back, Dazai took his hand and the two left.

“They’ll be fine, Chu Chu.” Dazai comforted, opening the back door of the car and letting Chuuya get in first before following and closing the door behind him.

“I know, I know” Chuuya sighed, not bothering to strap in as the car started moving.

(If it wasn’t obvious, there’s a driver. Bc of Chuuya’s rich ass)

“Relax, we have a mission to focus on.” Dazai added, leaning back in the seat and looking over Chuuya, who was wearing. Red dress that was fit to his frame and hung loosely at the collar, along with the black high heels.

“‘Relax’ and ‘mission’ do not belong in the same sentence. Osamu Dazai.” Chuuya crossed his arms over his chest and crossed his legs, his foot kicking forward impatiently.

Dazai smirked, his gaze lingering on Chuuya’s thighs(POV: when your husband is being a pervert towards you). “I was saying relax about the kids and focus on the mission. Chuuya Nakahara.” He finally teased back.

Chuuya rolled his eyes, looking out the window, Dazai relaxed, leaning back and closing his eyes, his posture softening.

After a moment, he opened one eye and looked at Chuuya again. “Mila told me you bought those earrings for the occasion.”

Chuuya looked over at Dazai. Chuuya lifted a hand to one of the gold, hanging earrings.

“Too much?” He questioned, Dazai smiled softly, leaning over to Chuuya.

“No, perfect.” He responded, Chuuya’s face flushed slightly and he looked away, Dazai continued, shrugging, “but Mila did tell me to tell you that you don’t need earrings to be beautiful.”

“There he is.” Dazai whispered, looking at the man at the bar, dressed in a tux.

“Don’t get to jealous.” Chuuya whispered, walking over to the man Dazai watched from the side of the room.

“How’s your night?” Chuuya smirked as he walked up to the man, leaning against the bar, the skirt of his tight dress hitched up slightly.

The man looked over at Chuuya, checking him out and smirking. “It just got a lot better. What’s a pretty lady like you doing here?”

Chuuya stepped closer to the man. “I’m living for something, might you know where I might find it?”

The man eyed Chuuya. “Depends, what are you looking for?”

Chuuya leaned forward and whispered to the man, the man smirked.

“Well, I’m certain I can help you with that.” The man moved closer, pinning Chuuya against the bar.

Dazai was fuming on the other side of the room. he had known the plan, but never got used to seeing other men touch his Chuuya.

Chuuya slid a hand into the man’s hair as the man started to kiss him. Chuuya closed his eyes and his free hand moved to the man’s chest, feeling around and slipping his hand under the suits jacket,

The man only smirked, suspecting nothing as Chuuya’s hand slipped out as he hooked his arm over the man’s shoulder, hand in a fast.

Dazai was quick to move, walking over to them and bumping into the man, catching the small object Chuuya had dropped.

The man pulled away from the kiss, turning to Dazai, annoyed. Chuuya slipped away into the crowd.

“Great, you scared her away.” He scowled at Dazai, who smiled innocently.

“Sorry, didn’t see you there.” Dazai quickly left, walking out of the building and up to Chuuya.

“I could feel your glare from across the room.” Chuuya commented. Dazai huffed, shoving his hand into his pocket before pulling it out and grabbing Chuuya by his shoulders, pressing their lips together.

Chuuya was shocked for a moment before kissing back, and then pulling away. “Jealous?” He teased, Dazai ran a hand through his hair, sighing.

“Let’s get a drink” He looked at Chuuya.

“Works for me.” Chuuya agreed and the two left, quickly finding a quiet place for Chuuya to change into some black jeans, one of Dazai’s hoodies, and his own usual hat, before the two left for Lupin Bar.

Chapter Text

“Cheers to another mission.” Chuuya held the glass of alcohol up and Dazai bumped there’s together before the two took a drink. Chuuya downed the glass at once and the bartender refilled it, Dazai only drank half.

“You planning on getting drunk?” Dazai teased, smiling at his husband as Chuuya drank another glass.

“Please, Samu. My alcohol tolerance is high.” Chuuya responded.

“Sure, Chibi,” Dazai sighed, watching the ice sphere bob in his drink.

Chuuya downed two more glasses before pausing and looking over at Dazai, noticing the distant face in his eyes.

“Does it ever pain you to drink here?” Chuuya asked, Dazai refocused on Chuuya, he smirked.

“What do you mean?” He drank the rest of the glass and requested a refill, Chuuya’s lips slanted in a frown.

“You know what I mean, Dazai.” He watched Dazai drink two more glasses.

“I might, care to elaborate?” Dazai smiled, getting another refill. Chuuya sighed.

“Ango and Odosaku, is it painful to drink here without them?” Chuuya clarified, Dazai fell silent and Chuuya felt a pit in his throat as he started to doubt bringing them up.

Dazai was still for a moment before drinking another glass and getting it refilled. “Nope! Don’t feel that” Dazai finally spoke before drinking the refill.

It didn’t take long for Dazai to get drunk, Chuuya watched carefully, sighing when he noticed Dazai getting a bit to tipsy.

“Samu, let’s head home.” Chuuya stood up, finishing his fifth glass before turning to Dazai.

“I’m not… drunk~” Dazai slurred, Chuuya leaned over.

“Yes, you are.” He responded.

“No, I’m not.” Dazai argued back, downing another glass before Chuuya snatched the glass from his hand and set it to the side.

“Can you tell the time?” Chuuya retorted.

Dazai looked down at his sleeve, pulling it up and looking at his watch. “I’m not, drunk” he snapped, Chuuya snorted slightly, hand over his mouth.

“Let’s go home he set the glass down and took Dazai’s arm, pulling him up before picking him up bridle style.

“Heeeyyy” Dazai huffed, Chuuya rolled his eyes and carried Dazai outside and started to walk home.

Once home, Chuuya got Dazai some water, checked that the kids were asleep, there were, and brought Dazai to the bathroom where he gave Dazai and bath and then cuddled close to his husband as the two fell asleep in bed.

Chapter Text

“Kouyou is here!” Mila called, running to the door and opening it. Kouyou picked Mila up and smiled.

“How have you been, angel?” She asked as she set Mila down, the young girl smiled

“Great! Me and mama went shopping a while ago! Do you like my outfit?” Mila did a little twirl, showing off her pink and white shirt with stars on it and her purple skirt.

“It’s beautiful.” Kouyou complimented, standing up as Dazai and Rei made it to the door.

Rei waved. “Hey Auntie Kouyou.”

She smiled and nodded back. Dazai and Kouyou exchanged glances of greeting, not bothering to engage in conversation.

Natasha walked to the door, pulling her shoes on over her knee-high socks before looking back at Kouyou.

“Where’s Chuuya?” Kouyou questioned, Natasha sighed.

“Father is finishing getting ready. Spent to much time planning the meet up with Juniper and Marigold.” She answered.

“Of course he did” Kouyou shook her head.

“I’ll go-” Dazai turned but Kouyou walked past.

“No. I’ll go. You can’t be trusted to stay on time.” She walked through the house.

Dazai huffed. “This is not true.”

“It kind of is.” Natasha responded, Dazai stuck his tongue out at her. Natasha rolled her eyes at his childish behavior.

Chuuya and Kouyou returned and Chuuya pulled his shoes on.

“We’ll see you two later.” Chuuya waved goodbye to Dazai and Rei. Mila waved bye to them as well, leaving after Chuuya. Natasha and Kouyou followed.

The four of them walked to the park, walking around till they found Marigold and Juniper.

The two girls, as per usual, were arguing. That was, until Marigold noticed Natasha. She walked away from Juniper and up to Natasha.

“It’s nice to see you so casually.” She smiled, stuffing her hands in her jacket pockets.

“It is.” Natasha agreed calmly.

“What are we planning to do again?” Juniper walked up behind Marigold, elbowing her sister.

“There’s an animal shelter nearby. Me, Nat and Mila thought we could all volunteer for dog walking. There’s a hiking trail nearby that we could use.” Chuuya responded, beaming.

“That sounds fun!” Junpier smiled, Chuuya nodded.

They then proceeded to dog walk, once done, Juniper and Marigold returned home, Kouyou had dinner with Rei, Chuuya, Mila, Natasha and Dazai before she went home.

Rei huffed, standing in the music store, arms crossed. “Why did I have to come with you?” Rei rolled his eyes, watching Natasha try out an acoustic guitar.

“Because Father is already at work and you didn’t want to join dad in dropping Mila off at her friends place, and you know the rule. No one is allowed home alone, just in case.” Natasha responded, not looking up from the guitar.

“I know, I know” Rei sighed, sitting down and watching his older sister.

Rei watched Natasha move over to a small drum set.

“We literally have all of this shit at one of Ma’s penthouses. Why do you always insist on coming here?” Rei rolled his eyes.

“Because it’s fun here.” Natasha responded, turning to face Rei, the boy’s expression softened.

The glimmer in his sisters eyes, the smile on her lips. Even the glow of her skin seemed more emotional than normal.

Rei sighed, smiling back at Natasha, who returned to focusing on the instruments.

The bell at the door rang and Rei looked back. Seeing Dazai walk in.

“Finally, how’s Mila?” Rei smirked.

“She’s good, her friends parents expect me to pick her up around six.” Dazai responded, watching Natasha awe over the instruments.

Rei nodded silently. He was silent before speaking up. “Natasha, let’s get going.”

Natasha looked up from a violin, the glimmer and smile faded as she stood and walked over to them.

“Let’s go.” She agreed.

The three left the store and made their way to the Armed Detectives Agency office where Dazai quickly got to work, searching through some files, Rei fell into conversation with Juniper while Natasha helped Dazai look through the files.

Not many more people were there, since most were out on their own missions.

“Here.” Natasha snatched a paper from the desk and read it before folding and pocketing it. “I’ll get this to father, good luck.” Natasha turned away, starting to leave.

“I don’t need luck.” Dazai retorted, Rei quickly met up with Natasha at the door, Juniper rolled her eyes as he left mid conversation.

“I’m coming with.” Rei insisted, following behind Natasha.

“Fine, I won’t stop you.” Natasha rolled her eyes, Rei froze for a second, his eyes widening before he sped up to catch up.

“Your not going to stop me?” He confirmed.

“Do you want me to?” Natasha responded, the two entered the elevator, it closed behind them.

“No… you just… agreed…” Rei looked over at Natasha with a quizzical look. “Where did you put my sister??” He pointed at her with an accusatory finger.

“Very funny, kid.” She rolled her eyes, hands in her black, jean short pockets as she exited the elevator and left the building, Rei ran after.

“I’m not a kid!” He shouted after her as he caught up.

“Sure kid.”

~

“Thanks kids.” Chuuya took the paper from Natasha.

“Any time.” Natasha nodded, Rei grumbled.

“Rei, why don’t you join Nat? She’s going on a mission with Marigold, you could be useful.” Chuuya offered, Rei grinned.

“Of course I’ll be useful!” He smirked, Natasha rolled her eyes, grabbing Rei by his shirt and dragging him out of the room, Chuuya watched them silently, looking down at the paper with a grim look on his face.

Chapter Text

It wasn’t every day Rei joined his sister on a mission, but today was one of those rare days.

“Are you in position?” Natasha asked through the com.

“Yup, three men were guarding the room, took them out.” Rei responded, standing next to the closed door.

“Just took out two, took down four along the way.” Marigold answered.

“Good, wait for my signal.” Natasha turned off her com as she moved through the building, her steps feather light.

She peaked over the corner, all clear-

“Why hello there.” Someone spoke, Natasha froze, turning around to look at the person behind her.

He had brown eyes and messy black hair, a relaxed posture to the untrained eye, but Natasha could see the slight tension in his shoulders.

Natasha stood straight, he seemed about her age, 18 at most. She walked over to him, noticing the red strings on his fingers, she focused on the one connected to her.

The sound wave the string made would translate to, dating. Natasha froze.

Dating.

No, not, ‘attracted’. Not, ‘crush’. Dating.

“Hey” Natasha finally responded, stopping before him? He was taller than her by an inch or two, but still probably shorter than Dazai.

“Who are you?” He asked, Natasha stepped even closer.

“Names Natasha, you?” She smirked up at him.

“Zepher.” He answered.

“Hm, you knew here?” Natasha questioned.

“Uh, ya. You?”

“Ya, me and a friend are new here. We were planning to get into the computer room, but we both forgot the code, so you remember it?” Natasha smiled, Zepher smirked.

“I actually do, it’s 2406” He offered a confident smile, Natasha laughed softly.

“Wow, thanks. I hope I’ll see you around.” Natasha waved, turning and running off, Zepher watched her go, a small frown on his lips.

Natasha ran down the halls, avoiding other people before she got to the door Rei was waiting for her at.

“Took you long enough.” Rei rolled his eyes, Natasha ignored his comment, stepping past and putting in the code the boy had given her.

The door beeped and she tried the nob, it opened. Rei and Natasha slipped inside, Natasha moved to the computer, taking out a chip.

“Get ready to leave.” Natasha called to Rei, Rei nodded, standing at the door.

Natasha turned her com back on as she searched for the files she needed. “You there Marigold?”

“Yup, I’m still here.” Marigold responded.

“Great. Get ready. You need to turn everything off right when I say it.” Natasha found what she needed and stuck the chip in, watching it load.

The second it got to 100%, Natasha took the chip out. “Now.” Natasha turned, running to the door, all the computers shut down, as did the lights and the room fell into darkness.

Natasha and Rei ran from the room, bolting down the hallway and escaping through a vent.

They landed in an alleyway, the escape vent above them as they caught their breath, Rei more obviously than Natasha.

Marigold entered the alleyway from the street, hands in her jacket. “We got it?” She checked, Natasha held up the chip.

“What is it anyway?” Rei questioned.

“It’s information on this organization, just in case they become a threat to the Port Mafia.” Natasha explained.

“Huh” Rei fell silent.

Chapter Text

“Thank you for agreeing to meet with me today. Mr. Anhar.” Chuuya spoke calmly, looking at the man sitting across from him.

“Thank you for the request, I look forward to making a deal with you.” The man responded.

“Yes, I two hope we can profit from an arrangement.” Chuuya nodded.

“Well, what do you need?”

“Guns. This is a one-time deal.” Chuuya answered, the man thought for a second.

“How many?”

“50. I’ll give you $500 (goggle says that’s 74,662.50 yen).” Chuuya answered. The man was silent.

“Seriously? 500 dollars for 50 guns? My weapons are top tier.” The man crossed his arms.

“And? I’m giving you ten dollars a gun.” Chuuya rested his chin in his hand.

“That is unreasonable. I’m selling them 50 dollars each at least” Mr. Anhar snapped.

Chuuya closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, he spoke again. “I am the leader of the Port Mafia, you are a simple seller of guns. That being said… I’ll settle on 25 dollars a gun.” Chuuya opened his eyes, meeting the man’s gaze. Mr. Anhar stared at Chuuya.

“D- deal…” He stammered, Chuuya smiled.

“Great. I look forward to the trade off later.”

The man nodded hesitantly.

Someone knocked on the door, Chuuya looked up and past the man. “Enter” Chuuya spoke.

The door opened and Natasha walked in. She stepped up and stood behind and next to Chuuya.

“Rei and Mila are home, father.” She informed, Chuuya nodded.

“Thank you.” Chuuya spoke to her before looking back at the man. “You can go.”

Mr. Anhar looked at Natasha, before standing and leaving. Natasha watched him go before turning and looking down at Chuuya.

Chapter Text

“Funny meeting you here.” Someone spoke from the shadows, Natasha froze. Shit.

“Yes, very humorous.” Natasha turned to the darkness.

“You really are a mystery, Natasha Nakahara. Or is it Natasha Dazai? Your family is quite confusing.” He stepped out of the shadows, hands in his Jean pockets, wearing a leather jacket, hair just as messy as before.

“Natasha Nakahara. I prefer my fathers last name.” Natasha responded, posture tight.

“Natasha Nakahara… I must say, it does have a certain ring to it.”

“Cut the bullshit, what do you want Zepher? If that is your real name.” Natasha snapped, Zepher smirked,

“So mean.” He sighed, stopping in front of her. “My name is in fact Zepher, and I want to get to know you.”

Those words… Natasha peaked down at the red string.

Dating

Their fate was still dating.

“Why?” Natasha narrowed her eyes.

“Why not? Your pretty, talented, strong. I want to get to know you.” Zepher smiled.

Natasha was silent. She couldn’t trust him. She knew she shouldn’t trust him.

“Nat!” Chuuya called from around the corner.

All logic went out the window, Natasha slipped a card into Zepher’s hand, and ran to find Chuuya.

Zepher watched silently, hand closed around the card. One he was almost certain, held a string of numbers.

Chapter Text

When Chuuya had to stay late at work for a single day, he did not expect what ended up happening. It had been simple enough.

None of the kids had any after school activities that day, so clearly, it was Chuuya’s job to pick them up. The only problem was Chuuya needed to stay late for a meeting with his executives, minus Natasha due to school.

So after that, the second choice was for Dazai to pick the kids up. Only Dazai also had work, and although he hates it, he had a report to write on the most recent commission he completed.

SO! After both Chuuya and Dazai couldn’t pick them up, the next best option was for the kids, Natasha, Rei and Mila, to walk home alone. It’s fine, Rei had a fighting ability, Chuuya had taught Natasha how to protect herself.

So, imagine the surprise Chuuya felt, when fifteen minutes after Dazai got home, he called Chuuya, who was reading through a report that he quickly had to finish before he could head home, with a single, horrifying question;

“Have any of the kids texted or called you Chibi?”

Chuuya had frozen at that single question. “No… why?” Chuuya had responded.

“None of them are home. I tried to call Nat and Rei, but neither answered.” Dazai responded. And Chuuya had fallen silent, and into thought, until Dazai spoke up again. “Chibi? You still there?”

“Ya… I’m here.” Chuuya had turned his phone on audio and started pacing the room.

“What do you think happened?” Dazai had questioned. Chuuya only had one idea.

“They were kidnapped.” He answered.

“By who? And how? Rei and Natasha-” Dazai had doubted.

“Sneak attack, most likely. And who? Well… there was this person I made a deal with recently, he wasn’t exactly pleased with the end result of the deal, and saw Natasha as she informed me of Rei and Mila.”

This time. It was Dazai’s turn to fall silent. “Shit, Chibi.” Dazai sighed.

“I know” Chuuya responded, continuing his pacing.

“Chibi, what do we do?”

“I don’t know damnit! Shut up and let me think!” Chuuya snapped back, Dazai had listened, and after a few minutes, Chuuya spoke again.

“I have a tracker on Mila’s backpack, just in case she ever went missing. We can follow that, it was most likely left at the scene they were kidnapped, so we can narrow down where, and then I can have someone look through the security cameras in the area to find the vehicle they were taken by, if we can get a clear shot of the plate number, we can track that and find where it went.” Chuuya finally spoke.

“Sounds good, Chibi. I’ll check the tracker and meet you at the scene.” Dazai spoke, Chuuya agreed and hung up.

The second the call ended, Chuuya fell to his knees, heart beating in his ears as he gripped the desk to the point the desk was splintering a bit.

Damnit Chuuya. Damnit damnit damnit. How could you be so dumb? Their gone, missing, over 17 years of your life, 17 hard won years, 6209 days of your fucking life, spent raising them and you fucking lost them. Damnit Chuuya. How can you be so-

“-Chuuya?” A voice spoke. Chuuya’s breath hitched and he looked up at Kouyou, who stood in the doorway.

“Their gone. I lost them.” Chuuya whispered, voice shaky, tears threatening to boil over, Kouyou walked over to Chuuya, crouching down and pulling him into a hug, Chuuya didn’t fight it, but didn’t melt into it either.

“Calm down, Chuuya. What do you mean? Who did you lose?” Kouyou whispered calmly.

“The kids. The kids. Their gone. They were kidnapped and it’s all my fault.” Chuuya breathed shakily, his tears starting to slide down his face.

Kouyou looked down at Chuuya. “It’s not your fault; you’re doing the best you can do.” She comforted. Chuuya was silent, Kouyou spoke again. “Do you have a plan to find them? A plan is always a good first step.”

“Ya…” Chuuya answered shakily. “S- Samu is going to meet me where Mila’s school bag is… and then we’ll use cameras to find who took them.”

“Smart, go, no need to wait. I’m here if you need me.” Chuuya stood up, pulling Chuuya up with her. Chuuya sighed, looking up at Kouyou, who wiped his tears before pushing him towards the exit. “Go” she encouraged, Kouyou’s push caused Chuuya to a walk, which he quickly sped up to a run, as he grabbed his phone and left the room.

Chapter Text

“They didn’t wait very long.” Chuuya commented, standing next to Dazai. They were only a block or so away from Mila’s school.

“Impatient? Or maybe they didn’t know if the kids would meet up with someone or not” Dazai responded, Chuuya nodded.

“Probably the second. There’s no way they could know neither of us would meet with them, unless one of us have traitors, or they have spies. Which I highly doubt.” Chuuya responded.

“And why do you doubt that?” Dazai questioned, picking up Mila’s backpack.

“Because Mr. Anhar seemed very concerned with getting good money, with a bit more research, I found that his company has been financially struggling a bit, they don’t have the money to bribe a member of the Port Mafia or pay for a good spy.” Chuuya answered, Dazai grinned.

“Smart” He looked over Chuuya, noticing the others fidgeting. Dazai stepped closer, taking one of Chuuya’s hands in his, slipping the glove off and messing with the ring on Chuuya’s finger. “Babe, this isn’t your fault, we’ll find them.” He comforted, dropping the bag and reaching his other hand up to Chuuya’s cheek, tilting Chuuya’s head to face him.

Chuuya set his hand on Dazai’s wrist, tears in his eyes, he closed his eyes and leaned his head into Dazai’s hand. “What if something bad happens to them? Mila just got her ability a few years ago, she hasn’t learned how to use it properly” Chuuya whispered, Dazai sighed, pulling Chuuya closer and wrapping an arm around Chuuya’s waist.

“They’ll be fine, Chuuya. I believe in them.” Dazai responded. Chuuya sighed, letting Dazai hold him, his lips pursing in a line as he hummed quietly to himself, Dazai smiled softly.

A port mafia subordinate rushed up to them. “Boss, we found something on the cameras.” The man said, Chuuya turned to face him, pulling away from Dazai.

“Let me see.” He followed the man, Dazai picked up Mila’s bag and followed.

The man got into the van, sitting down in the chair, Chuuya watched the computer screen, it showed the three walking down the street, when Natasha suddenly froze. She pulled Mila closer to her. Rei started looking around.

Before any of them could do anything, someone shot Natasha in the arm, she stumbled back, clutching her shoulder, Mila stared in fear as a dart hit Rei, he stumbled, but remained awake, his senses seemed dulled though, as someone ran up and kneed him in the stomach. Mila ran over, but someone else grabbed her by her backpack, she fell back, but quickly took her backpack off, the person grabbed her shirt instead, Natasha ran over, kicking the person who had grabbed Mila.

Natasha clutched her shoulder as she looked around, keeping Mila close, Rei collapsed from whatever poison was in the dart, and Natasha rushed over, pulling Rei close. She pulled Mila over as well, and when a dart was shot at Mila, Natasha pulled Mila out of the way, the dart hit Natasha instead.

And seconds later, a third hit Mila. A van drove up, two people ran out and hauled the three kids into the back, before the van drove away.

The man froze the video and zoomed in on the car plate number.

“Find that van.” Chuuya snapped, storming out of the back, Dazai quickly followed after him. Chuuya was fuming. How could someone have the guts to hurt his children? He was going to completely kill the person who had done that.

Chapter Text

“You know, for a kidnapper, your really bad at this.” Rei spoke up, tied to a chair, the room had been silent. Mila stared at Rei, horrified at his courage. Natasha simple watched Rei’s audacity.

“What? Kid, I have you at fucking gun point.” One of the men responded, holding their gun.

“Language” Natasha motioned to Mila sitting between the two older kids.

The man looked between the two older kids. “What? You have literally been kidnapped!”

“And?” Natasha shrugged.

“Ma’s going to save us.” Rei added.

“How are you so sure?” The man questioned.

“Because you’re an idiot.” Rei answered.

“I can kill kill you whenever I want. Watch your mouth.”

“You won’t.” Natasha replied confidently.

“And how do you know that?” The man crossed his arms.

“You need us alive- oh, hey Ma” Rei looked past the man, the man froze, and turned around, a bullet shot through one of the other guys and they collapsed too the ground, limp.

Mila screamed, looking away and closing her eyes. Natasha watched Mila.

“Millie, calm down. It’s fine.” Natasha spoke up, Mila looked over at Natasha, uncertain.

Chuuya, hands in his pockets, landed behind one of the men, turning to face them and quickly round house kicking them. Chuuya then took out a gun and turned to the last two.

“Fucking useless.” He snarled before shooting the last two. Without a second thought, he ran to Natasha, taking out a knife and cutting her free, then Rei, and finally Mila, dropping his knife and pulling Mila into a hug.

Mila cried against Chuuya. “Mama! I was so scared! Why did they take us?” She cried, Chuuya held Mila close, silently comforting her, even as he cried himself.

“Your safe, thank god you three are safe.”

Natasha walked up to Chuuya and Mila, while Rei ran over and joined in the hug, Chuuya quickly excepted Rei into the hug.

“I want to go home.” Mila cried, Chuuya held her close.

“Ya, let’s go home.” He whispered, standing up with her in his arms. Rei stood as well, and Natasha looked around. After a second, a few men in suits burst in, Chuuya turned to them.

“Your late.” He scuffed, walking past them, Rei and Natasha rushed behind. “Clean up the scene.” Chuuya added, the subordinates got to work and Chuuya held Mila closer, giving her a kiss on the forehead.

“Your okay” he whispered, letting Mila cling to his coat.

Rei ran forward, hugging Dazai. “You three are never walking home alone again.” Dazai held Rei close. Natasha watched, walking up to and past Dazai. Dazai didn’t ignore her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into a hug.

Natasha was silent for a moment, before her hands made their way to Dazai’s back and she hugged him back.

Chuuya watched, still holding Mila close.

At least they were okay… Chuuya looked back for a moment before looking forward again and taking Rei’s hand, leading him too the car. The second Rei noticed who was standing there, he broke from Chuuya’s grip, rushing over and pulling Juniper and Nathanial into a hug.

“I’ve never been so happy to see you two.” Rei confessed, Juniper smirked.

“Never been kidnapped before?” She teased, even as she hugged him back, Nathanial set a hand on Rei’s back.

“Neither have you.” Rei responded.

“True, I do the kidnapping.”

Chuuya walked up behind them, with Dazai and Natasha. “Juniper, Nathanial, how bout you two join us for dinner tonight.” He offered.

“You sure about that? Mila seems pretty scared, and we need to tell her-” Dazai started to object, but Chuuya shot him a glare.

“Shut up, we’re inviting them for dinner.” He snapped, Dazai raised his hands in surrender, backing off, he stuck his tongue out anyway.

“We’d love that.” Juniper excepted, Nathanial nodded, clinging to Rei.

“Sounds great.” Chuuya held Mila closer as the girl finally started running out of tears to cry.

“Mila, it’s been a week, how are you feeling?” Chuuya held Mila on his lap, his chin on her shoulder.

“I… I’ve been feeling better.” She whispered back, Dazai sat next to Chuuya.

“Good,” Dazai nodded slowly, shifting awkwardly. Chuuya rubbed Mila’s arm comfortingly.

“So, Mila, we wanted to talk to you about me job.” Chuuya started, Mila looked at Chuuya before speaking.

“What?” She looked between Dazai and Chuuya.

Chuuya sighed. “I… I’m the boss of the Port Mafia, that’s most likely why you and your siblings got kidnapped, I’m sorry I put you in that scary situation.” Chuuya explained, pulling her to lean against his chest. Mila froze, eyes wide at Chuuya’s reveal.

“You…” She trailed off, not knowing what to say. Mila could be a quiet child when it came to situations like this. You wouldn’t even be able to tell she was the same person who would play hide and seek while getting ice cream.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were the boss of the Port Mafia?” She finally whispered, Chuuya sighed.

“I didn’t want to overwhelm you too soon. I’m sorry.” Chuuya kissed Mila on the forehead, smoothing her hair slightly.

Mila was shaking slightly, fiddling with her clumsy hands Chuuya took her two hands in one of his. “Hey, Mila. How about we get a family dog?” Chuuya offered hopefully. Dazai narrowed his eyes.

“Chuuya” Dazai warned, but Rei appeared in the room, forming at the call of ‘dog’, he leaned against the back of the couch.

“Did someone say we were getting a dog?” He questioned loudly; Natasha peaked into the room.

“What about getting a dog?” She followed up, Mila looked between the two, and then Chuuya and lastly Dazai, wide eyed at the thought. Dazai stood up.

“No one said anything about getting a dog.” He quickly objected. Mila, meanwhile, pulled Chuuya’s hand closer to her chest.

“I’d like a dog.” She whispered, looking Chuuya straight in the eyes, though lacking her former confidence.

Dazai hesitated, “Well, I guess if the dog is well trained, and for protection purposes…” He mumbled, ruffling his hair.

“Let’s go!” Rei cheered and held out a hand to Mila, she high-fived him, she then leaned back against Chuuya as she looked up at Dazai, eyes wide with hope.

“Does this mean we can get a doggy?” She asked. Dazai stared at Mila for a moment before sighing, sitting down and leaning sideways against Chuuya, setting a hand in Mila’s lap and squeezing her hand, while also grabbing Chuuya’s arm and squeezing it.

“Fine, fine.” Dazai relented, Chuuya leaned against Dazai back, and Rei and Natasha joined the three on the couch.

(Time skip for the Doggy)

“Kids! We’re back!” Chuuya called, walking into the house, the fluffy dog by his side on a leash. Mila ran through the house, followed by Rei and Natasha, Dazai closed the houses door behind him and Chuuya.

“It’s a doggy!” Mila squealed, starting to get her confidence back, after only two weeks. She ran up to the dog as it sat, panting. Mila stopped in front of it. “Can I pet it?” She asked.

Chuuya kneeled down. “Her name is Nola, and yes, you can.” He smiled brightly. Mila reached a handout, setting it atop the dog's head, the dog barked, sniffing her. Mila smiled and laughed, wrapping her arms around Nola.

“I love her!” She joyfully proclaimed.

“Over 17 years and we finally have a dog! Who knew all it took was a kidnapping.” Rei laughed as he crouched down next to Mila and pet the dog.

“Ya, we’re not getting a dog for every time you get kidnapped.” Dazai argued, crossing his arms.

Chuuya unleashed Nola, the Mila pulled away, running back through the house, Nola looked up at Chuuya for confirmation, Chuuya clicked his tongue and the fluffy brown and red tinted dog bounded after Mila.

Natasha watched, a small smile on her lips.

(I guess I can add this note. So, this specific part I wrote is kinda special to me. Because I actually had a dog named Nola. She was a very old dog, who was actually in my family before I was born. And she was 16, a Labrador/Chow mix I think is what the vets said. But since she was so old, we had to lay her down about two years ago. So I just wanted to add a note that that’s where I got my inspiration for the new addition to the Soukoku family. Thank you, I hoped everyone enjoyed.)

“How long ago was it now?” Nathanial asked after a bit of silent.

“Huh? The kidnapping? About two weeks.” Rei responded, looking down at the boy leaning against his side, Nathanial held a churro.

“No, I mean, how long have we known each other now.” Nathanial corrected, he looked up at Rei.

“I guess… two or three years.” Rei finally answered.

Nathanial fell silent and Rei slowly let himself lean against his boyfriend, watching the sunset over the water.

(Flashback)

Guess it was about three years ago now, Dad and Ma had just told me about Ma’s job, at that point, Ma was still only an executive, I was about ten or so. Nat revealed she worked with Ma in the Port Mafia. I got to follow Nat around for one day and help around the Agency the other. And then I could choose if I wanted to work in either place.

Going around with Nat was amazing. But the guy in charge, Mori, creeped me out. It wasn’t that he was scary or anything. I just didn’t like his vibes, he didn’t look at me weird, just looked at that other girl, his ability, Elise, it just weirds me out.

But then I went to Dad’s job the next day, it was pretty chill. Atsushi-Dono was really welcoming, and it was satisfying to see someone other than Ma yell at dad. But other than the shouted, Kunikida-kun was really welcoming to me, showing me around a bit.

I remember when he had been telling me about the everyday commissions that Agency gets, when this boy turned the corner and bumped into me, he fell to the ground, but I hadn’t, so I held my hand out to him.

Then he looked up at me…

I’d be lying if I said my heart hadn’t missed a beat. The boy was short, he looked about my age, so ten or so, but he also looked really nice. He had these shimmering emerald, green eyes, or maybe it was just the light. He also had brown hair; it was in a low ponytail.

I had quickly noticed he had dropped some papers, so I grabbed them and helped him up with my other hand.

Kunikida-kun had introduced them as Nathanial, the son of Ranpo and Poe, he worked mostly with filing paperwork at the time

I had introduced myself, Rei Nakahara-Dazai. I preferred both last names back then, and still do. He had smiled nervously, before any real conversation could happen, Juniper jump scared me from behind, causing Nathanial to some how jump a bit as well.

Juniper and I had known each other before I joined the Agency. The Nakajima’s often visited for dinner back then. And Juniper was much easier to talk to than Marigold.

It had only been when I visited the Port Mafia that I learned Akutagawa wasn’t Akutagawa’s first name. Apparently, he had convinced Atsushi-Dono to make their family name Nakajima, but he just continued to go by Akutagawa, He apparently felt more comfortable going by that, over Ryūnosuke, when I had also learned recently was his actual real name.

If you had asked me, before I did those visits, who I wanted to join, I probably would’ve said Ma, but after the visit to the Armed Detectives Agency, and how welcoming they were(not that the Port Mafia was unwelcoming), I had made up my mind. And just the next day at dinner, I broke the answer.

“I want to work at the Armed Detectives Agency.” I had said, Natasha hadn’t looked up from her book, Ma and Dad share a look, and I grew nervous. Had I said the wrong thing? Or maybe at the wrong time? But only seconds after that thought, Ma had smiled and congratulated me on my choice.

Dad immediately started talking about how happy the others would be to learn I had chosen the Agency, and the thought of disappointing them was gone as if it had never existed at all.

Only a month after, I had learned Ma killed Mori and became the boss, it didn’t effect me much, personally, but I was happy for Ma.

Chapter Text

“Who thought all it took to get you to work would be an upcoming break.” Kunikida stood in front of Dazai.

Dazai whined, his head falling into his hands. “There’s to much work. Kill me.”

“I would, but my ideals don’t say I want to die soon, nor do they say I want to die at the hands of Chuuya Nakahara. You just have a week left. I’m going home. Close the place up when your done.” Kunikida grabbed his coat and left. Dazai watched, before continuing his writing.

Dazai hated working. If it wasn’t for Chuuya, he wouldn’t be doing this.

Now that he thought about it, he should probably text his boyfriend to let him know he was working overtime.

Dazai pulled out his phone, spinning in his chair as he texted; “Hey babe Working late Be home soon Luv u” Dazai stared at his phone for a second, before sighing and returning to work.

About two hours later, Dazai finally made it home.

“Chibi! I’m home!” Dazai called, taking off his shoes and tossing his coat onto a chair. Dazai stared at the coat for a second, before grabbing it and hanging it up next to Chuuya’s coat and hat.

“Babe?” Dazai called again, stepping into the kitchen. Dazai spotted a dinner, cold now. He sighed, instantly feeling worse about being late.

Dazai walked past the bathroom on his way to cheek their room, but paused. The door was closed… and… what did he smell?

It smelled like… a mix of vomit and smoke?

Dazai stared at the door. Shit.He opened the door, it was unlocked, and stepped inside.

Chuuya floated in the air, curled up, knees to chest and one arm wrapped around his legs. Chuuya wore one of Dazai’s hoodies. His other hand held a cigarette.

Dazai glanced at the toilet. Goddamnit Chuuya.

“Chibi. Come down here.” Dazai crossed his arms, Chuuya glanced down at Dazai.

“Fuck off.” He snapped and took another drag of the cigarette. Dazai scowled.

“Chuuya, I texted you I’d be working late. And stop smoking, it’s bad for your lungs and it’s bad for Rei.” Dazai glared.

Chuuya gritted his teeth. “She’s gonna be a Natasha! Goddamnit!” He snapped.

This is what we’re arguing about? Your smoking at four weeks pregnant and we’re arguing over the baby’s gender?” Dazai tried to keep a calm tone, but he couldn’t keep the irritation out of his tone.

Chuuya definitely took it the wrong way. He took another drag. “Oh, so now your calling me stupid?” He snapped.

“I’m not calling you stupid. I’m telling you not to change the subject.”

Chuuya frowned, he raised the cigarette to take another drag, but Dazai reached up, grabbing Chuuya’s ankle, Chuuya instantly fell, waving his arms.

Dazai caught him, snatching the cigarette, putting it out on the counter and throwing it in the garbage.

“Come on, Chibi. We’re both tired.” Dazai sighed, watching Chuuya stand up.

Chuuya crossed his arms, he huffed. “I’m sorry…” He mumbled, back to Dazai.

Dazai smiled, hugging Chuuya from behind, setting his chin on Chuuya’s shoulder and resting his hands over Chuuya’s stomach.

“Can you promise me you won’t smoke anymore?”

“I can try.”

“Thank you.” Dazai moved a hand up, pulling some of Chuuya’s hair to the side and kissing his neck.

“What about throwing up? It’s not healthy for the baby.” Dazai whispered. Chuuya was silent. Dazai sighed, kissing the back of Chuuya’s neck, the older shivered.

“Your beautiful, babe. Your size is a part of the process. Please, you need to eat, and you can’t throw everything up.” Dazai continued.

Chuuya finally spoke again. “Fine.” He sighed, Dazai pressed a kiss to Chuuya’s cheek.

“Thank you. Let’s go make some food. I know you aren’t full and I haven’t eaten yet. You can teach me how to make your favorite meal.” Dazai took Chuuya’s hand, leading his boyfriend to the kitchen, Chuuya followed, smiling softly.

The older sped up, elbowing Dazai in the side. “Only if you can keep up.” He teased, Dazai laughed softly.

Summary:

Part 2

Chapter Text

“DAD!!” Juniper shouted, slamming the door to the ADA’s office open, Atsushi looked up from some papers he was looking through.

Over the years, Atsushi had changed drastically from when he had first joined the ADA. His bangs had grown out and changed, falling into a more messy style yet less painful than his old ones.

His hair in general had also grown out, and his white hair was in a straight ponytail about halfway down his back. Atsushi’s gaze had become more serious, though he could still be silly at times.

Atsushi’s outfit, had also changed. It had remained mostly the same, up until Ranpo made him the new director of the Detectives Agency. After that, Atsushi had adapted an outfit similar to what Fukuzawa’s had been wearing, only he kept his fingerless gloves

Atsushi still wore a suit when at conferences and wore casual clothes when off work, but when on missions or on work, he wore the outfit similar to Fukuzawa’s.

“Ya Juni?” He raised an eyebrow. Juniper walked up to Atsushi, Marigold following behind.

“Marigold said you and Pa adopted me out of pity!” Juniper snapped, pointing an accusatory finger at Marigold.

Atsushi raised an eyebrow and looked past Juniper to Marigold. “Why would you say that Mari?”

“Juni said my hair looked ugly today!” Marigold responded, crossing her arms. Atsushi sighed, Juniper huffed.

“You asked for my opinion. Why would you ask if you didn’t want an honest answer?” She rolled her eyes.

“You didn’t even look up from your phone before calling me ugly!” Marigold snapped back.

“I didn’t call you ugly. I called your hair ugly.” Juniper responded, hand on her hip.

“Same thing bitch!” Marigold snapped back.

“Hey! What did I say about swearing!” Atsushi cut in. Juniper and Marigold both fell silent, glaring at each other.

Atsushi sighed. “What am I going to do with you two?” He asked himself.

At that moment, Kenji walked up, smiling. Kenji hadn’t changed much. He had grown older(obvi), and his blond hair was still messy and mostly short, just long enough for a half of it to be in a man-bun, and the other half to still be down at around his shoulders, which it was currently in. His smile still bright, he still wore blue jean overalls but had started to leave his hat at home most days, but not today, as it rested on his neck.

“Let me” He offered, Atsushi sighed and waved a hand for him to proceed. Kenji stood in front of them.

“Marigold, apologize to Juniper for saying she was adopted out of pity. And Juniper, apologize to Marigold for calling her hair ugly.” Kenji smiled, a hand on either of the two girls shoulders.

“I’m… Sorry… I guess.” Marigold huffed, crossing her arms.

“Ya… Me two.” Juniper mumbled.

“Great! Now hug it out!” Kenji prompted. The two sisters hugged and Kenji smiled. “Friends again.”

“I don’t think it’s that easy…” Atsushi mumbled.

“Don’t worry. Kenji is great with kids.” Kyouka basically appeared next to Kenji, a calm look on her face, slipping her hand to hold Kenji’s, Atsushi jumped when she spoke.

Kyouka had also grown older, though she had kept her cool and calm mood, she smiled more, and she had grown taller.

Her hair was no longer in two pigtails with two flower clips. Instead, one flower chip held back her bangs on one side of her face, while the other connected to the rubber band that held most of her hair in a braid down her back, stopping at about her waist.

Kyouka’s outfit, had changed slightly. Her kimono had changed design, remaining red, but her sleeves were longer, hiding weapons better, and instead of plain red, her kimono was now a red base color with pink and white flower petals decorated across the fabric. The lining of the kimono, the edges of the sleeves and such, were white. Around her waist, wrapped a yellow piece of fabric, held together on the side by a small gold pin in the design of a katana, the pin was a gift from Kouyou that Kyouka got when the older finally excepted that Kyouka was okay with the ADA. Some of the extra of the fabric left a short trail behind.

Kenji smiled at the compliment. Atsushi sighed, turning back to Juniper and Marigold. “Okay you two, it’s late, get to school before first attendance, and Aku gets notified you skipped.” Atsushi instructed.

The two girls turned and ran out, Atsushi sat down on one of the desks. “How am I the president of the Armed Detectives Agency, but can’t even parent those two.” He asked aloud.

Kyouka sat up next to him. “We listen to you. Those two are teenagers, they don’t know what the word ‘listen’ means.” She responded.

“You know more than me about kids.”

“I’m four years closer to their age.”

“I guess…” Atsushi sighed, standing up.

“Anyway, I have another assignment for you two to take care of.”

Chapter Text

Akutagawa stood outside Chuuya’s office, leaning against the wall, wearing black dress pants and a white dress shirt. He never bothered to tighten the tie, and since giving Marigold his black coat, he wore a simple, slightly shorter, leather black coat over his shoulders.

A short black chain earring hung from one ear, his other ear had nothing. His hair had grown out and was in a ponytail, reaching about his shoulders in the ponytail, though he had kept his bangs the same.

He got a text while waiting and pulled out his phone.

Husband: “Kids almost missed school. Juni said Mari’s hair was ugly and Mari said we adopted Juni out of pity”

Akutagawa smirked, typing back.

Aku: “They good now?”

Husband: “Kenji helped”

Aku: “Surprised those two don’t have kids yet. Their made for it.”

Husband: “You know they’ll never have kids”

Aku: “adopted babe, adopted”

“Akutagawa!” Chuuya called.

Aku: “Bye. Love you babe.”

Husband: “Love you”

Akutagawa pushed off the wall, opening the door and walking into the room, setting his phone on a desk next to the door, and getting on one knee in front of Chuuya’s desk.

Today, Chuuya’s hair was in a messy bun, and he wore a bit of makeup, not very noticeable lipstick, but black eyeliner and a bit of red eyeshadow. If Akutagawa had to guess, Mila had helped Chuuya get ready.

“Yes Boss?”

“I have an assignment for you.” Chuuya started, calmly. Akutagawa stood up, hands behind his back. “One of my more useful agents has been captured. I can’t risk losing them. Your job is to infiltrate the base and get them back.”

Akutagawa nodded. “Understood, Boss. Will this be a solo mission?”

“No.” Chuuya glanced past Akutagawa, Akutagawa turned around to see Gin standing in the doorway.

She had her mask on, and most of her hair was cut pixy short, but her bangs were same as they had been years ago, a curtain bang on one side and a collection of hair messily between her eyes.

She wore a black suit, with pants and pockets. She had black boots as well.

“Gin will be joining you, I had her memorize the layout, she will lead you too my agent and you will get them out. Gin will then take a separate way out, you will take the original way out. Alright?” Chuuya explained as Gin walked to stand at Akutagawa‘s side.

Akutagawa bowed, as did Gin.

“We understand. We will complete the mission.” Akutagawa spoke, Chuuya nodded, watching as Akutagawa and Gin left.

(On the mission)

Akutagawa ran through the halls, following after Gin as she swiftly made her way down ahead.

Gin had changed her outfit a bit for the mission, her suit jacket was completely unbuttoned, and her suit pants had changed to black cargo pants with plenty of pockets.

She stopped at a corner, Akutagawa crouched next to her, both noticed the guard.

Gin nodded to Akutagawa, Akutagawa stood and slid into the hallway, aiming Rashōmon at the man, stabbing him through the chest. Rashōmon returned to Akutagawa’s coat and the man slumped to the ground. Akutagawa turned to face Gin again as she ran to the hall and turned to run past the now dead man.

Akutagawa followed after her, for a moment, he relaxed, following his sister as she led him down the halls. He couldn’t help but think of how far the two of them had come.

Gin has risen in the ranks even before Chuuya took control of the Port Mafia. When Hirotsu had died, Gin had risen to the leader of Black Lizard. And at that point, she had grown close to Chuuya.

Mori had seen this and changed Black Lizard to work as a group directly under Chuuya’s command, thinking it would lead to a stronger group. And it had, Gin had also started spying for Chuuya at that time.

Becoming Chuuya’s most reliable source of information within the Port Mafia. Sure, he had other spies, but Gin had quickly risen to his most trusted. And just like that, Gin had been the reason for Chuuya’s rise to power.

It had been Gin who had concluded that Mori had grown weaker and more paranoid with age. And it was Gin who had realized that Elise had become less powerful an ability. It was Gin who had found people in the mafia who were ready for a change of leadership. It was Gin who had reported this all back to Chuuya, helping him build the confidence to kill Mori.

And it had been Gin, who had been Chuuya’s witness so he could take over as the Port Mafia boss.

And now it was Gin, who was one of the five executives of the Port Mafia. Of course, alongside Q, Kouyou, Natasha and Akutagawa himself. But an accomplishment no doubt.

Akutagawa slowed as he and Gin came to the cell. Finding the agent they had been sent to collect.

Gin stood guard as Akutagawa broke the lock, and stepped inside, picking the unconscious man up.

Gin and Akutagawa nodded, parting ways to leave.

Akutagawa ran out, while Gin slipped through the facility to get what she needed before she would leave.

(Back with Chuuya)

Akutagawa had written up and given his report to Chuuya, Chuuya was looking it over when Gin slipped into the room. She opened the door, letting it close without a sound, and she sat down on the couch to the side of the room, folded up papers in hand as she waited, and back in her complete suit.

Chuuya eventually looked up, standing from his desk and walking over to Gin, sitting down next to her, she handed him the papers, he unfolded them, glancing over the empty pages. She whispered, almost inaudible.

“Invisible ink and cypher 8x.” She whispered, Chuuya nodded silently, folding the paper again and looking over at her.

“Flawless?” He checked.

She nodded, meeting his gaze.

“Good. Did you get hurt?” He added.

“Flawless.” She whispered back. Chuuya smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear.

“You’d tell me if you were ever hurt, right kid?”

“I’m not a kid.” She whispered.

“You are to me.” Chuuya teased back. She smiled, standing up, Chuuya watched as she left, he sighed, grabbing the papers and walking to his desk, packing them into his bag and leaving his office, locking the door behind him.

He walked down to the garage, getting on his motorcycle and riding home. He had dinner to make, and then he’d check her notes before going to bed.

Chapter Text

The loud, annoying beeping of an alarm awoke Kouyou from her dream. She rolled onto her side, pressing the sleep button on her phone and sitting up.

Kouyou sighed, standing up and stretching, yawning as she grabbed her phone and walked to her kitchen, starting up some coffee.

After her first sip, she got a text. Kouyou looked down. It was from Chuuya.

Chuuya: Hey Ane-San

Ane-San: yes Chuuya?

Chuuya: I scheduled to lead a transaction today and can’t bail out cause everyone else is busy. Dazai and Rei are at work and Nat bailed out of watching over Mila today cause she needed to meet up with someone. Can u come over at midday and hang with Mila and Nola till someone gets home? All her friends are busy.

Ane-San: of course I will Chuuya. I’ll be there midday. Don’t worry dear

Chuuya: Thx Ane-San. I really owe u this time.

Kouyou smiled and set her phone down, finishing her coffee and cleaning out the cup. Kouyou walked back to her room, and on the way, paused in the hallway, looking up at the wall of framed pictures. Kouyou smiled, nostalgic.

First, was a picture of her and Chuuya, when she was 19 and Chuuya was 15. Right after he had joined the PM. He scowled, hands shoved in his green jacket pockets and signature hat on his head.

The second, was one of Chuuya, Dazai and her. Chuuya, in his older look at about 17, had his arms crossed, standing right next to Kouyou. Dazai, had insisted he be in the photo as well, had his arms wrapped around Chuuya’s waist and chin atop Chuuya’s shoulder. Kouyou held Chuuya’s hat in her hands, and although she smiled in her picture, it was clear simply from the tilt of her head that she had been seconds away from killing Dazai.

The third, was a simple one of Kouyou, sitting in a red lounge chair.

The fourth, one of all the executives. When she was 22 and Chuuya and Dazai were 18. Chuuya and Dazai stood close to each other, but not in any way that would have told the other executives how close they really were.

And after that, were many pictures of just Chuuya and Kouyou, not professional in any way. After Dazai had left the PM… had left Chuuya. Kouyou had made it her mission to make Chuuya feel better.

There were pictures of them smiling and hanging out together. And years later in her picture timeline, was Chuuya’s wedding photo.

Chuuya, dressed in a white wedding dress and looking happy, stood beside Kouyou, with Dazai behind Chuuya, holding his new husband close.

And next, was the picture of young Natasha. She stood with Chuuya and Dazai on either side of her, smiling, and a 4-year-old Natasha, with her brown hair in a braid over her left shoulder, smiled proudly.

After that, one of Chuuya and Dazai, with a 7 year old Natasha standing in front of Dazai, a bland look on her face and her hair to about her waist. With Chuuya holding a three year old Rei, Rei clung to Chuuya’s shirt and looked back at the camera.

The most recent, was a picture of Rei standing next to Chuuya, Chuuya next to Dazai, Dazai next to Natasha, and Mila in front of them, smiling.

Kouyou smiled, returning to her room and grabbing a white shirt and blue jeans, she dressed in them, keeping a simple look for the day, and walked to her bathroom for her hair.

Kouyou had changed her hair much in the past years. She had originally had straight bangs on one side, covering her eye. But had cut that bang so it was shorter at the center and grew longer as it went over till it blended into the rest of her hair.

On her other side, since her hair stayed down now, she had a braid that went around that side of her head, making it to the back and pinning some of her hair there, while the rest blended into the rest of her hair. Kouyou’s hair now reached about her waist, a bit shorter.

Most workdays, she wore the same outfit she had years ago, but she had added a piece of fabric that hung off the back of one shoulder, that fabric was black on the top side, but on the bottom side had a bunch of marker drawings that Mila had drawn.

Kouyou finished her hair, and completed her makeup, keeping it the same as she had all those years ago. Kouyou clipped in the necklace that Chuuya had given her when younger, it had been a thank you for Kouyou organizing Chuuya’s wedding; and slipped on the bracelet that Natasha had made when Natasha was 6 or 7.

Kouyou checked herself in the mirror, before pushing away and returning to her room, picking up a book and walking to her living room, sitting down and starting to read.

(At midday)

Kouyou took out the key Chuuya had given her, unlocking and opening the door, Kouyou stepped in.

“Mila dear” Kouyou called, closing the door behind her and hanging the key up, taking off her shoes and walking inside.

“Kouyou!” Mila smiled, running up and hugging Kouyou, Kouyou smiled and hugged Mila back.

“Hello sweetie, how are you doing today?”

“Great! We should go to the park with Nola!” Mila grabbed Kouyou’s hand, Nola on a leash in her other, and got her shoes on, starting to try and drag Kouyou.

Kouyou laughed, putting her shoes back on and following Mila, taking the keys with her.

“If you insist, child.”

Chapter Text

Natasha and Zepher walked through the alleyway together. “I had to drop out of watching Mila last minute for this. Where are we going.” Natasha snapped, Zepher grinned, taking her hand and speeding up.

Natasha followed, slowing as they came to a stop at a door, Zepher knocked, and the door opened, her led Natasha inside.

“The fuck?” Natasha followed, slowing as they interred the bar. “It’s a bar.”

“It’s the bar. Everyone our age comes here.” Zepher led Natasha to the counter and sat down. “One beer and… a glass of wine?” Zepher grinned at Natasha.

“Ya, wine is fine.” Natasha shrugged, she watched Zepher as he payed and slid the wine over to her.

“Guess it counts as a date, huh?” He grinned, holding his beer out, Natasha picked up her glass of wine, she frowned, holding it up to cheers.

“I guess.” She blushed slightly. Zepher grinned, knocking his glass against hers and they both took a drink.

Zepher finished his glass and stood, holding his hand out to her. “A dance?” He offered. Natasha stared up at him. She finished her glass and took his hand, letting him pull her up.

Zepher smiled, leading her to a group of people dancing and starting to dance with her. Zepher laughed as he pulled her along, Natasha laughed as she followed his steps.

“You’re a great dancer” he complimented.

“You're not to bad yourself.” Natasha responded, he grinned.

“I’d say I’m an excellent dancer.” He argued back, and Natasha laughed. Suddenly, Zepher pulled her out of the crowd, leading her outside and climbing up a ladder at the side of the building.

“Come on!” He called, Natasha started up after him.

They made it to the top and Natasha sat down on the edge next to him. Zepher looked out at the view, the sun was rising still.

Natasha looked over at Zepher, he took out a pack of cigarettes and took one out, lighting it and taking it to his lips, taking a drag.

Natasha watched silently, Zepher glanced over at her, he held it out.

“Wanna try?” He offered, Natasha frowned.

“I… can’t. Father smoked a bit while pregnant with me, so I’m more prone to getting addicted.” Natasha shook her head, Zepher sighed, taking another drag and leaning back on his hand.

“I don’t get it.”

“I… Chuuya smoked, but not enough to get me addicted at birth-” Natasha explained another way, Zepher interrupted.

“No. I get that. But I don’t get what the problem with you getting addicted is. It’s just a cigarette and you’ll only do it once.” Zepher held the cigarette out again.

Natasha stared at it. “It causes lungs disease, and heart attacks.”

“Even for me, it’s only twice a week so there’s not much of a chance.” He grinned.

Natasha fell silent, she bit her lip, and took the cigarette, holding it in her hand.

“No, no. Don’t hold it like that, you wanna hold it between your pointer and middle finger.” Zepher grinned, taking her hand and fixing it.

“Why?”

“I don’t know. Looks cooler?” He chuckled, Natasha smiled slightly, lifting it to her lips and taking a drag, she started coughing, Zepher took it back and took his own drag.

“You’ll get used to it.” He smiled, Natasha’s coughing stopped, and she looked over at Zepher, he offered it over to her again. This time, Natasha took it with little hesitation.

Chapter Text

Marigold dodged, the knife cutting into her arm and through the coat. Rashōmon quickly stitched itself back up and Marigold shoved her hands in her pockets, sliding back, her foot hitting the wall.

Rashōmon flew at the man, pinning him to the wall opposite. Marigold felt the blood run down her hand and pulled that hand out of her pocket, she let Rashōmon suffocate the man, and he dropped to the ground.

Marigold sighed, pulling her sleeve up and looking at the cut. A subordinate to Double Blade, a more recently created group that was under Akutagawa’s command, and whom Marigold was working with today, ran up to her.

“Are you okay ma’am?” He asked, Marigold pulled the sleeve back down.

“I’m fine. Clean this all up.” She turned away and left the alleyway, the man was uncertain, but didn’t follow.

Marigold walked through the streets, arm dripping blood as she walked to the Armed Detectives Agency’s office. She walked up the stairs, opening the door and walking past everyone, including the door to her dad’s office.

She knocked on the door titled ‘Dr. Yosano’ and the Doctor called back.

“Who is it?”

“It’s me.” Marigold responded, the door opened and Marigold entered, sitting down on a chair, Yosano noticed her bleeding and grabbed a black towel, handing it to her. Marigold rolled her sleeve up and pressed the towel to the cut.

Yosano, wore a white blouse, a black bow tie and a black skirt to her knees, gloves, black heels and black leggings. She currently had her doctor's coat on as well.

Yosano’s more noticeable change from her younger self, was her hair growth. She still wore her butterfly pin, but her hair had grown to the length of which she put it up in a bun using a clip during work, her bangs had grown a bit, with some longer strands framing her face and the ones above her eyes remaining short and straight.

“What happened this time?” Yosano asked, sitting down at her chair and leaning back, her elbow hooking over the back, she crossed her leg.

“Some drunk psycho with a knife. He was supposed to have information about the growing threat of the ‘shadow organization’ but he drugged himself when I cornered him and went full psycho. Dude turned on me and slashed right through Rashōmon to my arm.” Marigold huffed. “I came to you because I could tell it was only deep enough to cause bleeding in the veins, long enough that it would seem deadly, but it didn’t get to anything fatal.”

Yosano hummed. “A drug that made him violent? He cut through Rashōmon?”

“The coat. Rashōmon wasn’t activated at that point.”

“But the coat still holds a part of Akutagawa’s ability. A normal person shouldn’t have been able to cut through it.”

“So… did the drug also increase his strength?” Marigold frowned.

Yosano was silent, thinking to herself. “Of course, that could have all just been a side effect. You said he had information. He probably drugged himself to kill himself so he wouldn’t risk sharing the information. I’ve heard of drugs that overstimulate your muscles. If a strong enough dose was given, it could have caused his lungs to over work and give out, he would’ve suffocated. Think about it, acting out violently might have just been him trying to damage you before he died. And his strength, if he was using a steroid of some sort, it could had strengthened more than just his lungs. He would have gained some form of strength before he died.”

Marigold glanced down at the cut, pulling the towel away, it had dried up mostly. She looked back up at Yosano, crisscross. “So, you're saying if he used some form of overdosing on a steroid to kill himself, it could have had a side effect of increasing his strength. It does make sense, a long-term overdose on steroids might cause heart attacks or muscle failure, overdosing in one go would just cause your muscles to completely give out.” Marigold crossed her arms.

“How did he die?”

“Rashōmon suffocated him…”

“Are you sure it was Rashōmon?”

Marigold fell silent. “I mean… With the pressure I used, Rashōmon would have suffocated him in a minute, depending on his capacity of… breathing!” Marigold stood up, Yosano smirked.

“Exactly. If his lungs were already failing, Rashōmon would’ve just sped up the process, but it wouldn’t have been the main cause because he would have died anyway.”

“And with the lungs failing he wouldn’t have been able to answer anyway…” Marigold sighed, Yosano stood up and set a hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t blame yourself, Girl. He would have died anyway; you put him out of his misery.” She comforted. Marigold sighed and nodded.

“I guess.” She turned to Yosano. “When can you teach me more!” She had stars in her eyes, Yosano laughed.

“How about… I have a check up with Kyouka and Kenji for a mission they had today, want to join and help? Intern in a way. If I have to use my ability, you’ll just leave.” Yosano offered. Marigold smiled wider and hugged her.

“Thank you!”

Yosano laughed and patted her back.

Chapter Text

(Note: I am shipping Higuchi and Gin, hope that doesn’t upset to many people. And in this, after Chuuya became the boss, Higuchi worked up the confidence to admit that she didn’t feel like the port mafia needed her, and Chuuya offered that he could speak to [Ranpo at the time, it was right before he gave Atsushi the position] if she could be transferred to the Armed Detectives Agency.)

“How was work today?” Atsushi asked, leaning against Akutagawa and reading a book, Akutagawa scrolled through his phone.

“Fine, boring for me, but I got informed that Marigold got hurt and refused to get help.” Akutagawa sighed.

“What happened?” Atsushi looked up.

“She can go ahead and tell you.” Akutagawa glanced over at Marigold, as she stood at the entrance to the room.

“I think I came in at the wrong time.” Marigold took a step back but Juniper grabbed her hand and dragged her in.

“No, I’m also very interested in hearing your excuse.” Juniper smirked, Marigold scowled, sitting down on the chair.

“So? What happened Marigold?” Atsushi set his book to the side.

“Well. I was chasing this guy for information, but he took a drug to kill himself, and before he died he attacked me and cut through the coat and my arm. Rashōmon fixed the sleeve and I went to Yosano to help me and we talked about the drug the guy took. So I’m fine.” Marigold huffed, crossing her arms.

Atsushi sighed, standing up. “Can I see the cut?” He asked, stepping forward, Marigold held her arm up, pulling  her sleeve up, Atsushi took her wrist and observed the scar. “Alright… just be more careful next time. Okay?” Atsushi smiled softly, Marigold nodded.

Atsushi returned to Akutagawa’s side, sitting down. “Well, Gin and Higuchi are coming over for the night, we ordered pizza and Gin and Higuchi will pick it up on their way here.

“Auntie’s Gin and Higuchi!” Juniper cheered, Atsushi laughed, Akutagawa smiled softly.

“It has been a while since I’ve seen Higuchi, ever since she got out of the Mafia. How has she been doing with you?” Akutagawa looked over at Atsushi, Atsushi smiled.

“She’s been doing great. She often goes on missions with Kyouka and Kenji, but when she doesn’t she’s working on paperwork, very helpful, and she seems more relaxed.” Atsushi nodded.

“We’re going to absolutely destroy her at Monopoly!” Juniper laughed, Marigold chuckled.

“But she’s going to destroy you at Skip-Bo and Uno.” Akutagawa responded, Juniper huffed.

“Well card games don’t count.” She argued.

“Since when?” Atsushi smirked.

“Ever since I realized Auntie Higuchi is amazing at every card game.” Juniper responded.

“How convenient” Akutagawa raised an eyebrow.

“I know, it’s truly odd how that works.” Juniper shrugged. Marigold yawned.

The doorbell rang and Marigold stood up. “I‘ve got it!” She called as she ran to the door.

“Gin! Higuchi!” Juniper shouted as Marigold dragged them both into the living room. Gin smiled sweetly, Higuchi grinned.

Her hair had grown out, she wore it in a ponytail still, but it was a low ponytail and her hair was about halfway down her back. She wore a white and blue suit these days.

Marigold let them go and sat down next to Akutagawa. Gin giggled softly, setting the pizza box down on the table, Higuchi quickly bowed to Atsushi.

“Director.” She greeted, Atsushi sighed.

“It’s fine, Higuchi. No need for formalities.” He smiled, Higuchi nodded.

“I’m insulted.” Akutagawa huffed, crossing his arms, Higuchi focused on him.

“Eh! Oh my god! Your hair looks so good down!” Higuchi shouted, Akutagawa made a face.

Atsushi had convinced him to keep his hair down while at home today, so he had his normal bangs and now the rest of his hair lay behind his shoulders a bit past them.

“Okay, now I’m no longer insulted.” He sighed. Higuchi laughed.

“Still the same Akutagawa-senpai.” She teased.

“He has no reason to change.” Atsushi responded, Gin smiled quietly.

Juniper grabbed a piece of pizza, raising her hand. “I call playing Monopoly first!” She shouted, Higuchi sighed.

“I’m gonna lose so bad.”

“Exactly!” Juniper laughed.

Akutagawa wiped a fake tear away. “They grow up so quickly.” He whispered, Atsushi elbowed Akutagawa in the stomach.

Gin smiled, “I’ll set up Monopoly.” She left the room to grab the game.

“Traitor!” Higuchi shouted.

“Hey Gin.” Juniper looked over at Gin.

“Hm?”

“Team up?” Juniper smirked.

“Sure.” Gin whispered.

Higuchi cried against the table and Marigold pat her on the back.

“My girlfriend is teaming up against me.” She whined. Akutagawa smirked, fist bumping Juniper.

“Good job kid.”

“I learned from the best.” Juniper responded. Atsushi sighed, feeling bad that Higuchi was getting bullied.

Chapter Text

Natasha looked out over the city, sitting silently. Someone walked up behind her and sat down to the right, legs hanging over the edge as well, he took out a cigarette and lit it, taking a drag and handing it to Natasha, she took her own drag.

“How was today?” Zepher asked, Natasha scowled, passing the cigarette back.

“Bullshit. I had a mission to retrieve information, I got the card I needed to get, and trying to get away, I told the man I was only 17, and he was like ‘age is just a number sweetie’.” Natasha scowled, taking the cigarette back and taking another drag.

“Damn, that’s disgusting. How old was he?”

“Late 30’s?” Natasha shrugged and sighed. “Still disgusting. I kicked him in the crotch and ran.” She added.

“He deserved it.” Zepher agreed calmly, Natasha leaned against him, and he smiled, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Anything else?”

“Father invited me to go shopping with him and some others. I probably will.” Natasha closed her eyes as she relaxed against him.

“Sounds fun, mall?”

“Ya, mall. Marigold, Juniper, Mila, Kouyou, Ms. Yosano and Father are going. It’s a big ‘girls trip’. It started with just me, Mila and Chuuya because dad is going on a mission with Ms. Higuchi and Kunikida, and Rei is meeting up with Nathanial. But then Mila wanted to bring Kouyou and I wanted to invite Marigold, and Marigold invited Juniper and Ms. Yosano.” Natasha explained, Zepher listened silently.

“Cool, tell me how it goes?”

“I will.” Natasha fell silent, she looked out over Yokohama. Something… didn’t feel right. She pushed the feeling aside.

She should have looked down at her hand, none of it would have happened if she had…

Chapter Text

“We got a new mission.” One of the men said, leaning against a wall and taking a drag.

“With your boss again?” The other asked, hands in their pockets and a worried look on their face.

“Ya, Mr. Nakahara refused everyone’s requests for a change of executive. Said our requests were all unwarranted, ‘it’s the port mafia’, he said.” The first sighed.

“But Mr. Nakahara is supposed to be super understanding.” A different man frowned.

“He’s still the Boss of the Port Mafia, and I guess I get it.” The first man took another drag and breathed out.

The door opened, someone walked in calmly, the atmosphere in the room tensed.

The person had short hair, that ended in a short, low ponytail, bangs over their face. Half of their hair was a white-ish color, and the other half was more of a dark brown. They wore black suit pants, but a dark blue buttoned up coat along with a red purse bag and a yellow scarf that loosely covered their mouth. They had yellow irises, one shaped as a star and the other just a circle.

The person stopped in the room, holding a doll that many would likely call disgusting, in one arm. “Mr. Kushiya.” They spoke up calmly, their other hand in the pocket of their pants.

The man that was smoking looked up and quickly bowed. “Yes, Executive Kyuusaku?” They were shaking slightly. The executive turned to face them completely, tilting their head so their mouth was visible, they smiled creepily.

“I don’t smoke, and don’t want your secondhand smoke. Keep that in mind.” They smiled and turned away, walking to a desk in the room and picking up a file that had their name on it, before leaving the room, mumbling something about messengers not being able to find their office.

The man who was smoking quickly put out their cigarette, letting out a breath.

“Your boss really seems to not like you.” One of the others sighed.

“They don’t seem to like any of us.” The first responded.

“Why not?” Another asked.

“None of us know, they only seem to smile a not creepy smile whenever they’re around other executives.”

“So, they just hate anyone below them?” Another huffed. “How stupid.”

[Meanwhile]

Kyuusaku walked into Akutagawa’s office, the older was wearing glasses as he read something.

“Hey Mr. Akutagawa~, how’s growing older suiting you?” They teased, sitting down on his desk and dropping their folder next to them.

Akutagawa looked up, sliding some of his papers to the side. “Your seven years younger than me, Q. You're not far behind.” Akutagawa sighed, Kyuusaku laughed.

“Your as funny as ever.” They slid their folder over to Akutagawa, Akutagawa looked at it and raised an eyebrow, Q just hummed calmly.

The older sighed, taking the folder and opening it, he took out a picture and held it up to Q. “Your next mission is to find this guy and bring him back alive so that Marigold can question him about some drug from his organization. There’s a note in here that if he kills himself, you won’t be blamed.” Akutagawa slid the folder back over.

Kyuusaku smiled and took the folder and picture. “Thanks Mr. Akutagawa! What would I do without you?” They stood up.

“You’d just read it, I know you learned how to read.” Akutagawa responded, they sighed.

“True… but reading is boring. I much prefer if you summarize my missions, bye Mr. Akutagawa.” They left without another word.

“See you kid.” Akutagawa looked back down at his own papers.

Chapter Text

Kyouka walked into the agency alone, sitting down at her desk and starting to work on her laptop, Dazai looked up from laying on the couch.

“Oh, Kyouka, hey. Where’s Kenji?” Dazai raised an eyebrow, Kyouka looked up calmly.

“Kenji is packing for our trip back to his village.” She responded, Dazai rolled into his stomach, swinging his legs.

“It’s that time of year again already? Time moves fast when your kids are growing up, huh?” Dazai laughed, Kyouka smiled softly.

“I suppose it probably does pass fast for you.” She refocused on her work.

“So… why aren’t you packing with Kenji?” Juniper pulled a chair over and sat next to Kyouka.

“I have a report I need to finish, then we can head out for the month, plus, Kenji normally does most of the packing anyway.” The older shrugged softly, Juniper nodded thoughtfully.

“Well… I wish you didn’t have to leave before our shopping trip.” She sighed.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll have fun without me.” Kyouka smiled.

“I’m sure I will.” Juniper huffed.

“Plus, me and Kenji always love the one month of the year that we get to head out to Kenji’s village and help around the farm. I love all the animals.” Kyouka sighed softly, Juniper laughed.

“Say hi to the farm animals for me.” She stood up and Kyouka nodded, refocusing on her work.

Once Kyouka finished, she turned it in to Kunikida, who sat at his desk, wearing the same glasses, he wore a white shirt, a black vest that was buttoned in the middle button, a black tie that was partly under the vest, and black pants. Kunikida had also cut his hair short, so he no longer had a ponytail. Much of the agency had shamed him the first week after his haircut.

Kunikida thanked her for her report and Kyouka said goodbye to everyone, hugged Atsushi goodbye for a month, and left, walking back to her and Kenji’s apartment. Kyouka saw Kenji sitting on the couch reading a book patiently.

Kenji looked up and smiled. “Welcome home, Flower.” He greeted, Kyouka smiled softly.

“How was packing?” She asked back, walking to their bedroom and starting to collect her clothes, she had bought some jeans and plain shirts that she could wear on the farm.

“Got everything but your clothes.” Kenji responded, standing up and following Kyouka, watching her finish packing. Kyouka finished and Kenji walked over as she closed the duffel bag.

Kenji pulled Kyouka into a hug, and she hesitated before hugging him back, messing with his hair as he pressed his face to her shoulder.

“I love you.” Kenji whispered.

“I love you two.” Kyouka responded. The two pulled apart, each taking one of the two bags(Kenji insisted on taking the heavier one) and intertwined their fingers.

Kenji and Kyouka left for the train station, Kenji checked his phone once they were at the station.

Mr. Chuuya: Have fun Li’l Punk, Dazai says good luck and laughed 🙄

Kenji laughed, showing the text to Kyouka, she chuckled softly, leaning against Kenji as they waited for the train.

Kenji: Thanks, Chuuya. I’ll keep Dazai’s laugh in mind.

Kenji shoved his phone in his pocket as he and Kyouka walked onto the train and found some seats, sitting down together.

Kyouka quickly fell asleep with her head on Kenji’s shoulder and Kenji was blushing slightly, listening to music.

The train stopped and Kenji gently woke Kyouka up, the two got up and out and walked the short, rest of the way to Kenji’s village.

As soon as they entered, a few kids ran up and clung to Kyouka’s arms and kimono.

“Welcome back!”

“We missed you Kyouka!”

“I made a cow friend while you were gone!”

Kyouka laughed softly. “One at a time, please.”

“What about me?” Kenji grinned. The kids looked over at him and one stuck a tongue out.

“We like Kyouka.”

They were clearly teasing, and Kenji laughed as he watched the kids drag his wife away.

“Shopping!” Mila cried, running ahead, Chuuya followed after, Kouyou smiled at Mila’s joy.

“Such an innocent girl.” Yosano sighed, Marigold walked next to her.

“Ya…” Marigold watched Chuuya run after Mila.

“Let’s go in this store first!” Mila shouted, pointing at a random store, Chuuya sighed, taking Mila’s hand.

“Alright, anyone want to join us?” Chuuya looked back at the others. Kouyou walked up and so did Natasha.

“We can go with you two, Yosano, Marigold, Juniper. You three can explore on your own and we’ll return here in two hours.” Kouyou answered.

“That won’t be enough time, but okay.” Yosano huffed and followed Juniper as she walked off.

“Kouyou! Look!” Mila pulled Kouyou along, pointing at a skirt, Chuuya and Natasha watched silently, following the two as Mila dragged Kouyou around the mall.

Chuuya noticed a soft pretzel place and dragged Natasha over, Natasha didn’t fight as the two both grabbed their own cup of mini soft pretzels, and walked back to Mila and Kouyou, eating.

“Oh, did you hear about one of Q’s generals?” Natasha spoke while they ate.

“No, what happened?” Chuuya raised an eyebrow.

“One of Q’s generals had killed someone that had information about the location of one of the people you assigned Q to find, Q got so mad that they had the man kill himself.” Natasha sighed, Chuuya hummed.

“Hm, Q always gets so obsessed with finishing the assignments I give them, I feel bad for the man, how do you know?” Chuuya responded.

“Q asked me to find out if the man had any relatives that would want to know about his passing, like most of the lower soldiers, parents are dead, no siblings and no partner.” Natasha shrugged.

“Huh, well, at least no one is too heavily affected by his passing.” Chuuya mumbled.

“Ya,” Natasha shrugged, the two ditched Mila and Kouyou again, heading to a trashcan and dropping their now empty cups.

Chuuya sighed, looking around and noticing a man rushing out of the store with something in his hand, he looked nervous.

“Hey Nat” Chuuya didn’t look away from the man, she looked over and noticed him as well.

“Great eye, says he’s stealing from someone in the store.” Natasha responded, Chuuya nodded slowly.

“Should we help or just leave it?” Chuuya grinned, Natasha shrugged.

“Depends, you in a heroic mood?” She looked over at Chuuya.

Chuuya sighed, starting to walk over. “Sadly, it seems I am.”

“Huh, I feel bad for you” Natasha responded, watching with a silent grin as Chuuya walked over to the man.

The man noticed Chuuya, already on edge, he took off running. One of the employees from the store he robbed from ran out of the store.

“Hey!” They shouted after him, Chuuya sighed and started to pick up his pace, he wouldn’t take any chances with his ability, although that would make it quicker, Chuuya quickly found his way into a run, chasing the man as he turned a corner, Chuuya slid, turning and continuing his chase.

The man ducked past some people and Chuuya slipped past them as well, gaining ground on the man.

Chuuya sped up, reaching his hand out and grasping the man’s arm, pulling him back and getting to a stop. The man fell, but Chuuya didn’t loosen his grip, holding the man as he looked around.

The person from the store caught up, along with someone from security. The officer, a woman, smiled. “Thank you, ma’am.” She thanked, assuming Chuuya was a woman due to Chuuya’s clothing.

Chuuya didn’t correct her as she took the man’s arm and pulled him up. “Just doing what I can.” Chuuya shrugged as Natasha walked to stand next to him.

The security woman nodded and pulled the man away, the person from the store thanked Chuuya before also leaving. Chuuya sighed.

“Good job, Father.” Natasha smiled softly.

“Ya, whatever, I was in a good mood.” Chuuya rolled his eyes and started walking back to the store Mila and Kouyou had been shopping at.

Natasha rolled her eyes, smirking and following.

Chapter Text

I can’t imagine my life without you anymore. Will you, ,€^^%_ !_¥_€_}_, give me the honor of being your groom and marry me?

I… |_._*… I… promise me… that if I die… you’ll stay alive. For our child.

I promise

Then I will

Earlier that day, Dazai had become increasingly clingy with Chuuya.

Chuuya had woken up to a call from Mori saying he had the day off, which in itself was weird. But then, Dazai just wouldn’t let him out of bed.

First, Dazai had clung to him like a child, then Dazai had made Chuuya breakfast and watched him to make sure he ate it in bed. And then Dazai held Chuuya close while they watched a show.

By lunch, Dazai got up and walked outside, Chuuya sighed, grabbing a book and reading it, knees to his chest as he yawned.

At now 2 months pregnant with Natasha, Chuuya only wore hoodies when at home, specifically, Dazai’s hoodies.

“Chuuya~!” Dazai called, skipping back into the room, he took the book and set it to the side. “Come on” Dazai held his hand out to Chuuya.

Chuuya took it, and stood up, following Dazai to the living room. Dazai sat Chuuya down on the couch and held out a bouquet.

“Dazai? What are you doing?” Chuuya raised an eyebrow, taking the bouquet.

He watched as Dazai got down on one knee and grabbed something from his pocket.

“Chuuya… I love you.” Dazai started, Chuuya blanked, staring at Dazai. “And… I don’t want to lose you.” He continued, Chuuya’s mind finally registered what Dazai was doing and his hand covered his mouth.

“I… Chuuya. Your beautiful. From the moment I saw you I knew you were an angel and I didn’t deserve you. Even when I left the Port Mafia, a day didn’t go by that I didn’t wish I had asked you to leave with me, even knowing it would be futile. I’m so… goddamn lucky… that you forgave me and gave me a second chance. And now… I can’t imagine my life without you anymore. Will you, Chuuya Nakahara, give me the honor of being your groom and marry me?” Dazai finished, taking a box out of his pocket and opening it, revealing a black ring with a small diamond gem inlayed in the ring. And in gold Japanese symbols, on one side of the gem said ‘Nakahara’ and the other side said ‘Dazai’.

Chuuya felt tears in his eyes. “I… Dazai… I… promise me… that if I die… you’ll stay alive… for our child.”

Dazai nodded. “I promise.” He stood up, and took the ring out of the box.

“Then I will.” Chuuya answered, Dazai took Chuuya’s left hand and slipped the ring onto his ring finger.

“I love you Chuuya.” Dazai whispered, bringing Chuuya’s hand to his lips and pressing a kiss to his ring finger.

“You’re a moron.” Chuuya whispered back, setting his hand on the back of Dazai’s head and kissing him on the lips.

Dazai closed his eyes and kissed back, cupping Chuuya’s face, he pulled away, resting his forehead against Chuuya’s and smiling. “Only for you.” He whispered and kissed Chuuya again.

Chapter 34: 33

Summary:

Starting part 3

Chapter Text

(Need to make a note here, the things I’m gonna have happen this chapter are not to downplay how powerful Kyouka is, I love her, or to add something to Fukuzawa’s ability that isn’t there. I simply made this because I think the dynamic and trust I have with what happens is really cute for KyouKenji. Thanks)

Kyouka walked up to the traditional house, walking past the cat in the garden. She knocked on the door.

“Fukuzawa? It’s me, Kyouka.” Kyouka called softly.

“Come on in.” Fukuzawa called back, Kyouka opened the door, letting the cat slip inside before walking in herself, closing the door behind her and walking over to Fukuzawa, moving down to her knees in front of the table he sat on the other side of.

“You wanted to speak to me?” Kyouka asked, Fukuzawa nodded. Kyouka was currently 21, with her hair short in a pixy cut, Fukuzawa had given his position to Ranpo about a year ago.

“Ranpo told me that you had been experiencing some struggles with your ability?” Fukuzawa sipped some tea, Kyouka swallowed.

“Well… I’m not really sure what it is. But Demon Snow has been more difficult to summon, I don’t know why. Once I summon demon snow, it’s easy to control it and such, but summoning it has been taking more time recently…” She explained slowly.

“Do you think it could be because my ability is no longer affecting you?” Fukuzawa questioned, Kyouka nodded slowly. “Well, if you can control Demon Snow just fine, perhaps have someone else summon it through the phone? Someone you trust.” He recommended.

Kyouka was quiet. “Do you have any thoughts?” Fukuzawa asked.

“Ya… I think I have an idea…” She responded softly. “Thank you, Fukuzawa.”

Kyouka walked through the streets of Yokohama, Kenji and Higuchi following behind.

“Sooo, how was your guys trip?” Higuchi asked, Kenji smiled.

“It was great! We had an amazing time back at my village.” He responded.

“It was an enjoyable time, the children were very happy to see me.” Kyouka added with a calm nod.

Kenji grinned, “They like her more than they like me.”

“Drama…” Higuchi grinned, following them.

Kyouka noticed some commotion in an alleyway, and rushed over, looking in. Some older guy was messing with a kid that was likely living in the slums. Kyouka didn’t hesitate to step in to intervene.

She walked forward and grabbed the guys shoulder. “Good sir, please step away-” Kyouka started, the man slapped her hand off him and turned to her.

“Don’t touch me, woman. Mind your own business.” He snapped, Kyouka’s look darkened and she stepped back.

“Kenji, call my phone.” She said coldly, Kenji entered the alleyway and nodded, taking out his phone and calling Kyouka, Kyouka’s old phone rang, and she took it out, the man seemed unimpressed, and Higuchi slipped past, turning the boy to face away.

Kyouka answered the call, “Demon Snow.” Kenji spoke, and Demon Snow appeared behind Kyouka, the man was surprised as Kyouka took control of Demon Snow, and the ability quickly sliced multiple cuts into the man, and he passed out.

Kyouka hung up and Kenji put his phone away as the two walked over to Higuchi and the kid.

“Are you okay?” Kyouka checked, the kid looked back and nodded, looking behind her, Kyouka tilted his head, so he focused on her. She took out her wallet and took out some money, “Here, take this and buy some food.” The kid took the money and ran off, Kyouka stood up.

“We should head to our mission.” Higuchi finally spoke again, Kyouka and Kenji nodded.

“Right.” Kyouka sighed and continued walking to their destination.

“You know, my parents used to go to arcades all the time when they were younger.” Natasha sighed, remembering the stories her parents had told her.

“Really? Huh.” Zepher smirked, walking into the arcade.

“They aren’t as popular these days, but still fun.” Natasha shrugged as she followed Zepher, watching him walk over to a game. She watched as he played.

“Wow, you lost…” Natasha blinked, Zepher scowled.

“I’ll win next time!” Zepher dug his hand into his pocket, nothing. “Uh…” He looked back at Natasha, who held out some money.

“Where are your financials?” She grumbled as Zepher took the money.

“Me and my friends aren’t exactly in the best position, okay?” He started playing the game again, Natasha watched, hands on her hips.

“Great, I’m dating a homeless 18-year-old.” She rolled her eyes.

“I’m not homeless, we still have a home, we just don’t have much spare money. But that’ll all change soon once my plan works!” Zepher grinned, beating the game.

“And are you going to tell me about this amazing plan?” Natasha turned away and walked over to the basketball throwing game, Zepher followed after her.

“Hell no, just wait and see. Trust me, it’ll work.” Zepher smirked. Natasha smirked and rolled her eyes, starting the game.

“Sure.” She started shooting baskets, missing a few but getting most of them.

“Damn, your good.” Zepher complimented.

“Hm? Ya, I guess, I played basketball for my school, but the school year ended a month ago so now I’m off school till I find a college I want to go to.” Natasha respond, the game ended and Natasha got some tickets as a reward.

“Off school? So, are you focusing more on your job for your dad now?” Zepher followed her as she walked to the next game she wanted to play.

“My father, but ya.” Natasha answered, there was a weird feeling in her chest, and it wasn’t just for Zepher, for some reason, she felt good when Zepher showed interest in her, she never really got to talk about herself, so this was nice.

“Okay, so what’s the difference between Father and dad?”

“Simple, I respect Chuuya more, so I call him father, and I call Dazai dad.” Natasha answered, Zepher laughed slightly, Natasha smiled. “Don’t get me wrong, I respect my dad… he’s just… more of a goofball then my father.”

“Fuck!” Rei shouted, rolling onto his back.

“Language.” Chuuya responded, annoyed, Rei stuck his tongue out, refocusing on the game that Chuuya had just won.

“You're too good at this.” Rei complained, standing up and taking Chuuya’s controller, starting to put everything away. Chuuya pulled his knees to his chest and watched, yawning and resting his cheek against his fist, elbow on the chair's armrest.

“I’ve been playing games with your dad for 26 years. Of course I’m good at it.” Chuuya responded, yawning again.

Rei stared at Chuuya blankly before shaking his head. “It’s crazy how quickly your energy levels change, ma.” Rei sighed, standing up and looking back at Chuuya. “I’m gonna go get dad, night Ma.”

“Night sweetie.” Chuuya responded, closing his eyes. Rei smiled, walking to Dazai and Chuuya’s room.

Rei knocked on the door before opening it, meeting Dazai’s gaze, his dad had been reading a book. “You and Chibi done for the night?” Dazai smirked.

Rei smirked back, walking inside the room. “Ya, Ma said that we should play a game together though.”

The older raised an eyebrow. “Really now? And where is your mother to confirm this?”

“Uh… in the living room, half asleep.” Rei frowned, crossing his arms.

“Ya, okay. Go to bed Rei, we can play a game together over the weekend.” Dazai stood up and walked around the bed, setting a hand on his son's shoulder, Rei huffed.

“Fine.” He looked away, Dazai smiled, ruffling his hair and leaving the room. Rei followed, before quickly walking upstairs to his room.

“Pst.” Rei looked to the door of Mila’s room, slightly open with the girl peaking out. “Who won?” She whispered.

“Ma.” Rei responded, before quickly entering his own room, he heard a quiet “Ya, that ‘fuck’ from earlier gave it away”, from Mila.

Back downstairs, Dazai had walked into the living room, finding Chuuya asleep, knees to his chest and head resting on his fist. Dazai smirked, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his husband's forehead before picking Chuuya up, one arm on his back and the other under his knees.

Dazai held Chuuya too his chest, carrying him back to their room.

He’s really light again. Dazai noted to himself, he’d start paying more attention to Chuuya’s food intake again. Then again, Dazai couldn’t really be talking. Both of them had problems with food.

Chuuya was self conscious of both his weight and size and would starve himself or start eating less on occasions. And Dazai himself had a fast metabolism but got full easily and never realize he was hungry until he started eating. It was always a struggle for both of them to keep a healthy weight.

But they had promised to look out for each other, and at the moment, Chuuya had been very strict on Dazai’s eating habits, making sure he ate breakfast and dinner, while also having made calls with the agency to make sure he ate lunch. It seemed that in all Chuuya’s pressuring, Dazai had laid off on making sure Chuuya was eating enough food himself.

“Stubborn Chibi.” Dazai sighed, closing the bedroom door with his foot and walking to their bed, setting Chuuya down and pressing a kiss to his cheek, the Chibi stirred and Dazai stepped back, pulling his shirt off as he walked around to the other side of the bed, pausing at the full-sized mirror, which Chuuya had insisted they have in their room, and making sure his bandages were tight and keeping his scars covered.

Dazai fell still as he stared at himself, looking over the bandages, mostly focused on his arms, which were also the most muscular part of himself, though not by much, at least at the moment, due to Chuuya’s focus on Dazai’s eating.

Dazai’s eyes ran over the bandages around his neck and moved to the ones around his chest and stomach. Dazai fidgeted with the bandages on his hands, staring at his face, he lifted one hand to his right eye, frowning at the barely visible scar there, it was old, but still present.

Hands wrapped around Dazai’s waist, and he looked down at Chuuya, whose arms had snaked around the others waist, eyes closed and the side of his head leaning against Dazai’s own side.

“Come to bed.” Chuuya whispered, opening his eyes and locking eyes with Dazai in the mirror.

Dazai smirked, “Does my chibi miss me?” Dazai teased, feeling Chuuya’s warm hands sliding under one of the bandages at his stomach Dazai tensed, but feeling the warmth over his scar allowed him to relax. Chuuya was still one of the only people he let see his scars, and the only person he let touch them.

“I miss my heater.” Chuuya responded calmly, smiling, Dazai smirked, turning to face Chuuya, feeling Chuuya’s hand slip out from under his bandages.

“Is that all you see me as? A heater? I’m insulted.” Dazai teased with a sparkle in his eyes, Chuuya rested his chin against Dazai’s chest, meeting Dazai’s sparkling eyes with his own tired ones.

Both of Dazai’s eyes were brown, while Chuuya’s own were a mix, one brown and one blue, both tired.

(I am adding the heterochromatic AU to this cause I think it’s beautiful, but Chuuya wears blue contacts most of the time)

“Shut up, the kids stole my internal heater, so now I need you.” Chuuya answered after a moment. Dazai smiled and leaned down, picking Chuuya up, one hand on the others ass, and carried him to bed. “Your hand is cold.” Chuuya grumbled, Dazai laughed softly, setting Chuuya down on the bed, before joining him, pulling the ginger close.

“Sleep well Chibi.” Dazai whispered, pressing a kiss to Chuuya’s forehead as he pulled the sheets over them.

“Ya, I will.” Chuuya mumbled tiredly, snuggling closer to Dazai, and to his warmth, Dazai wrapped his arms around Chuuya’s waist, holding his husband in his arms.

Chapter Text

“Now that Nathanial is in his room, how was work today dear?” Poe spoke quietly while putting the dishes away, Ranpo helped a bit, a lollipop in his mouth.

“It was fine, I solved a murder case, but other than that it was pretty boring.” Ranpo shrugged.

“And you tired dear?” Poe walked up behind Ranpo and wrapped his arms around the others waist, Ranpo looked up at his husband and smiled softly.

“Ya, I am kinda tired. Ed.” He sighed, leaning back onto Poe, who started putting away the dishes that Ranpo had given up on.

“Shall we go to bed then?” Poe offered, Ranpo grinned.

“Ya, I would like to go to bed… carry me, Ed.” He responded, Poe smiled softly, picking Ranpo up bridle style and walking to their room, past Nathanial’s room.

Ranpo closed his eyes, leaning against Poe’s chest. “I want more candy.” Ranpo whispered.

“I’m the morning dear.”  Poe responded, Ranpo sighed.

“Fine.” He frowned, finishing his lollipop and laying down in the bed next to Poe. The two held each other close, slowly falling asleep.

Meanwhile, in Nathanial’s room, once the boy heard his parents enter their room, he sat up and walked to the window, opening it and slipping out with his phone, texting Rei to meet at the usual park.

Nathanial nervously glanced up at the window in his parent's room, before running to the park, where Rei was waiting for him on a bench.

“Hm? Hey Nathan!” Rei looked up and waved to him, Nathanial smiled, slowing down as he got closer, and sitting down next to Rei, laying down and resting his head in Rei’s lap. Rei looked down at Nathanial surprised.

“Uh- I’m tired, okay?” Nathanial blushed, starting to sit back up but Rei pushed him down.

“No, I like it.” He smiled, Nathanial slowly smiled back, rolling to his side and closing his eyes, resting his head in Rei’s lap as he listened to Rei talk about the game of Mario Kart that him and his ‘Ma’, Chuuya, had played.

Chapter Text

Chuuya rolled onto his side, reaching his hand out to pull Dazai closer… nothing. Chuuya’s eyes snapped open, and he looked at the empty side of the bed.

“Bastard.” Chuuya scowled, sitting up and pulling the sheets off him, walking to the dresser and grabbing one of Dazai’s shirts, tugging it on. Chuuya stomped out of the room and to the kitchen.

“Morning Chibi~” Dazai smiled, making some pancakes. Chuuya paused.

“What… the… HOW DID YOU WAKE UP BEFORE ME!!” Chuuya shouted, Chuuya always woke up first, he was a light sleeper, so even Dazai’s alarm would wake him up, if Dazai cared enough to have an alarm.

“Look at the time Chibi, you slept in.” Dazai pointed at the time on the microwave.

9:37

“WHAAAAAT!!! HOW DID I SLEEP THROUGH MY ALARM??? I NEVER SLEEP THROUGH MY ALARM-” He froze, looking back at Dazai, who was holding back a laugh. “You… son of a bitch! You turned my alarm off!”

Dazai sighed, “Now, now Chibi, no need to swear.” He teased, Chuuya rolled his eyes, crossing his arms and walking over to Dazai.

“Since when could you cook without assistance?” Chuuya smirked, Dazai gasped, quickly turning his phone over so it was facing the counter.

“I’m hurt that you think-” Dazai started, but Chuuya slipped under him and grabbed the phone, checking it.

“Seriously? You’re an idiot Bastard.” Chuuya scowled, Dazai stepped back and the older looked up. “Osamu Nakahara-Dazai.” He snapped, Dazai froze. “Finish our breakfast, you fucking idiot.” Chuuya stormed out of the room with Dazai’s phone.

“Wait! Chibi! I need Rei’s instructions from my phone!” Dazai cried, Chuuya floated the others phone back and Dazai took it.

“Make me some coffee while you're at it? Chuuya snapped, Dazai huffed, returning to making pancakes.

“How mean~ I’m over here trying to make breakfast for my stressed Husband on our 17th anniversary, and my Chibi’s not even gonna thank me.” Dazai complained loudly, Chuuya ignored him.

Dazai finished the breakfast, bringing the two plates, stacked in one hand, and a coffee mug, held in the other, to the bedroom, setting the mug on Chuuya’s bedside table and holding one of the plates out to Chuuya.

Chuuya had been texting Natasha to make sure she, Rei and Mila were okay, apparently Mila was hanging out with the detectives agency today, Rei had took her that morning at Dazai’s request.

Chuuya set his phone aside and took the plate, and Dazai sat down next to him. The younger about to speak, before Chuuya pressed a kiss to his cheek.

“Thank you, Osa… happy anniversary.” Chuuya spoke sincerely and smiled, but Dazai’s face was on fire, Chuuya laughed and took a small box and card out of a drawer in his bedside table, holding it out to Dazai, who slowly took it.

Chuuya started eating his breakfast, watching Dazai’s flustered expression… pancakes weren’t half bad… what a surprise.

Dazai slowly set the box and card down and quickly ate his own breakfast, before settling it to the side, Chuuya was halfway through his breakfast and Dazai narrowed his eyes.

“Chuuya, finish your food.” Dazai’s tone hardened, Chuuya huffed.

“I’m not hungry.” He retorted.

“I’m not opening your gift until you eat. You remember the promise we made. We both watch out for each other, and I take my job of making you eat, very seriously.” Dazai responded, crossing his arms.

“Says the one who never eats his lunch unless someone reminds him.” Chuuya snapped back.

“Chibi, just eat the damn food.”  Dazai snapped, Chuuya rolled his eyes and slowly finished the breakfast.

“There, done.” Chuuya crossed his arms as Dazai took the plate and set it on his own.

“Thank you, see? That wasn’t very difficult.”

“Whatever, open the gift.” Chuuya huffed, Dazai smiled and picked up the card and box, opening the card first. “I had it custom made.” Chuuya grumbled.

The front of the card said “17-Fucking-Years of Torture!”, in big red text, Dazai smirked, opening the card, on the inside, to a black text in a cursive font which read, “Let’s try and make it 18, okay bastard husband?”

Then in Chuuya’s own writing, “I hate you, happy 17th anniversary, I’m probably the only person who could stand you for this long, so your welcome.”

A smile spread across Dazai’s face, and he laughed, looking at Chuuya. “Love you two, Chibi.” He smiled like an idiot and Chuuya couldn’t help but return it.

“Your lucky I love you.” He sighed, Dazai pulled Chuuya into a hug.

“I know~” He smiled.

“Now open the gift.” Chuuya added. Dazai held Chuuya by the waist with one arm as he opened the box.

Dazai already knew what it was, Chuuya got one for Dazai every year.

On their honeymoon, which they spent in Paris, Chuuya had given Dazai a golden chain for a necklace, because Dazai had been using a string to hold his wedding ring since he didn’t want to wear it on his finger.

But for their first anniversary, Chuuya got Dazai a charm that had a silver ‘1’ on it, and it could be attached to the necklace.

And since then Chuuya’s anniversary gift for Dazai had been the number of years they’ve been together. It sounded stupid, but it was meaningful for them.

In the box, as Dazai expected, was a charm with a silver ‘17’. Dazai took it out, grabbed his necklace from his bedside table and clicking the ‘17’ into the chain, before putting it on.

“Always with the tradition, Chibi.” Dazai smiled, pulling Chuuya into another hug, Chuuya hugged him back.

“I’m never gonna stop that.” He teased, Dazai laughed.

“Good.” Dazai pulled away, grabbing a card of his own, Chuuya took it.

“No gift?” He teased, Dazai smiled, his chin on Chuuya’s shoulder.

“Your gift is in the card.” Dazai hummed, Chuuya opened the card silently, leaning against Dazai.

The front had a simple, “Happy anniversary, your lucky to have me.” Chuuya scuffed in amusement at the words, his head leaning against Dazai’s as he opened the card and two tickets slipped out.

Chuuya paused, focusing on the card, struggling not to snatch the tickets up. “I love you Chibi, happy anniversary, second ticket is for anyone but me.” Chuuya looked down at the tickets and picked them up.

They were tickets to one of his favorite bands, Chuuya’s eyes sparkled and he quickly wrapped his arms around Dazai’s neck, giving him a kiss. “Thank you, Osa.” Chuuya smiled, Dazai smirked.

“Well, now I know I did a good job, you only call me ‘Osa’ when you're teasing me or you’re really happy.” Dazai laughed, kissing Chuuya back. Chuuya set the card and tickets on the bedside table as he and Dazai quickly grew more intimate.

Chapter Text

Akutagawa left the Port Mafia base, hands in his pockets as he walked away from the towers calmly, watching subordinates as they bowed to him, he looked ahead, walking away and towards a shop he often went to on the way home.

Juniper was having a sleep over with Rei, and Marigold was out of town on a school club trip to Tokyo, so it would just be him and Atsushi at home tonight. It was a bit late, as it often was when he went home.

But if he had to guess, this late, Atsushi would probably still be up, purposefully, probably. Either completing something on his computer or working out… Akutagawa paused in his walk, thinking of Atsushi.

The other man overheated easily, due to his tiger ability, if he was working out he might be shirtless… not that the man hadn’t seen his husband shirtless dozens of times before, but the thought still made Akutagawa smile slightly.

Akutagawa pushed the image to the back of his head, walking to the café and walking inside, it was late, but he ordered a tea to go anyway, waiting for it to be done before paying and thanking the person behind the counter, leaving and continuing to walk home.

He silently wondered if he should have gotten Atsushi something… no. It would be fine, his husband was a simple were-tiger, if he wanted something, they probably had it at home. On the other hand, Akutagawa finished his tea and threw the cup away, walking inside the pet store and grabbing some cat treats.

Atsushi and Akutagawa had three cats, the oldest being a 18 or so year old female black, white and gray, used to be black and white, cat named Jinko, Akutagawa had named her after his nickname for Atsushi after the two had found her as a stray and she had grown connected to them, they had never learned her real name even after taking her in, but she answered to Jinko just fine. The middle cat being a 10 year old female gray cat named Lady Stormy, Atsushi had started calling her Lady Stormy, then Juniper and Marigold had picked it up and now it was just part of her name, and the youngest being a 1 year old female ginger cat named Pumpkin, but she also answered to Tiger, a name that only Akutagawa called her.

After buying the cat treats, Akutagawa finally returned home, walking into the house, Pumpkin was immediately weaving between his feet, meowing and purring. Akutagawa sighed, closing the door behind him and crouching down, scratching Pumpkin under the chin before taking off his shoes, standing up and walking farther into the house.

“Jinko I’m home!” Akutagawa called, he heard a groan from their bedroom and smirked, crouching down as Stormy padded into the room. Akutagawa opened the bag of cat treats and gave a few to Stormy and a few to Pumpkin before closing the bag and standing up, putting the bag away and walking to the living room, finding the cat, Jinko curled up on  the top perch of one of their cat trees.

Akutagawa sighed calmly, walking into his and Atsushi’s bedroom, finding Atsushi laying on the bed, wearing no shirt and only his pajama pants, with the blanket off as he clung to a pillow. “You look like your about to die.” Akutagawa commented at Stormy slipped into the room and jumped onto the bed, curling up on Akutagawa’s pillow as if it was her bed.

“I need my human freezer.” Atsushi whined, Akutagawa sighed, walking over.

“I’m not a freezer, Jinko.” Akutagawa responded, even as he crawled over Atsushi and straddled his back, leaning down and wrapping his arms around  Atsushi’s torso, his chest pressed against Atsushi’s bare, scarred and sweaty back.

Damn, Akutagawa must have just missed Atsushi working out. Akutagawa sighed, disappointed as he pressed a kiss to the back of Atsushi’s neck, Atsushi shivered, even as he responded to Akutagawa’s earlier statement.

“Akutagawa, dear, you feel like what I expect Russia to feel like.” He spoke calmly, Akutagawa huffed, pushing Atsushi’s hair, which had been put up in a messy bun, to the side, starting to press more kisses to Atsushi’s neck.

“Then you greatly underestimate the cold weather of Russia, babe.” Akutagawa responded, Atsushi huffed, looking back at Akutagawa as the older spoke again. “And your also just very hot, temperature wise.”

Atsushi growled, “Only temperature wise?” He challenged, Akutagawa chuckled softly, sitting up and letting Atsushi roll onto his back. Atsushi had become much better built as they had grown up, though both of them were still twigs, Atsushi had vague abs now, and more muscle in his arms.

Akutagawa pulled Atsushi’s hair out of its messy bun, running his hand through the white locks. “You wanna say something? Careful, the children are here.” Akutagawa smirked, glancing at Stormy, who was watching them, tail flicking every so often.

Atsushi huffed, looking back at Akutagawa and grabbing the loose tie around his neck, pulling Akutagawa down into a kiss, the older quickly reciprocated it, their lips moving against each others.

Akutagawa pulled away looking down at Atsushi. Akutagawa sighed, throwing his coat somewhere else in the room. Akutagawa still didn’t like the idea of stripping completely, but when his husband was with him, their trust had grown strong enough to where Akutagawa could handle being naked.

Stormy, noticing Akutagawa starting to undo his tie, quickly sat up and bolted from the beds hissing in annoyance. Akutagawa and Atsushi watched her go, before Atsushi laughed, rolling Akutagawa over and undoing the rest of the tie.

“Do you wanna dom tonight?” Atsushi whispered into Akutagawa’s ear, the older sighed.

“I think your way to interested in tying me up to let me say yes to that, huh?” He smirked softly, Atsushi snickered.

“I’ll take that as a go ahead.” He teased softly.

(Short flashback~ because Author-Chan likes writing romantic scenes but feels self conscious of any smut scenes they write~ OoOoO~)

Back about 14 years ago, when Marigold had been recently born, she lay asleep in her cradle in her room, while Atsushi and Akutagawa cuddled in bed, finally having a moment of silence to each other.

“Do you think she’s gonna sleep long?” Akutagawa whispered.

“I doubt it.” Atsushi sighed, messing with Akutagawa’s signature coat.

“Your on baby duty tonight.” Akutagawa whispered, pressing a kiss to Atsushi’s lips.

Atsushi squinted, rubbing his eyes. “Why am I on baby duty?”

“So you don’t forget that we have a child.” Akutagawa smirked tiredly.

“And I’d forget? Just because I didn’t go through pregnancy, doesn’t mean I’ll forget about her.” Atsushi responded defensively but tiredly.

Atsushi and Akutagawa had originally wanted a biological child. After that, they had decided that if they were to have any other kids, they’d adopt.

“Sure, Baby, sure.” Akutagawa responded to Atsushi’s complaint, pulling his husband close, Atsushi sighed, snuggling against Akutagawa’s cold body.

“Shut up.” Atsushi huffed.

It might have seemed like a confusing situation, Atsushi and Akutagawa were both men, right? Not exactly. Atsushi was a man, born a man and felt male. But Akutagawa had been born a girl, with his sister Gin. But it had never felt right for him.

Back in the slums, he had kept his hair short and worn masculine clothes, he had looked male, and wore a scarf tightly around his chest. He had contributed his feeling of not feeling right being female as just him trying to survive in the slums, it was easier to live in the slums when he dressed and acted like a boy, anyway, not much easier, but something.

But when he joined the Mafia, Mori quickly found out he was a woman, and offered him a medication to stop his periods. Akutagawa excepted with almost no hesitation. He knew why Mori offered it, without the monthly bleeding and cramps and mood swings, Akutagawa would be more useful.

When Akutagawa was sixteen, he requested for Mori to put him on medication to help him transition to male, he had realized at that point that he envied people who had a man’s body, he wanted that. He wanted to be a man. And so, Mori complied.

That was around the time that Dazai left the Port Mafia, and Akutagawa had gotten overwhelmed, his mentor had left him without even saying goodbye. He couldn’t stand it, was he not good enough to keep Dazai-San around?

In the stress, Akutagawa forgot to take the pills, his voice eventually returned to its naturally higher pitch, and Akutagawa had to start forcing it deep again. He went back on the period stopping pills and wearing a binder instead, not ready to go through major changes.

Now, with Atsushi, Akutagawa and Atsushi had talked about Akutagawa transitioning, the two had decided to wait for as stable a time as they could. Eventually, they had decided they wanted a child and had Marigold.

Once Akutagawa recovered from that, he decided to transition to male. He didn’t feel fully male, he preferred demiboy, he/they. But he didn’t feel female, he didn’t want the female body, so he transitioned to male, now that they had decided to not have another biological child.

(Back to the present after smut~ OoOoOo~ Small rant to signify return; Two things, 1. I don’t headcannon that Akutagawa is trans, but I thought I might as well add it in to this AU, IDK why, I hope I don’t miss represent anything, just know I’m trying my best. Second, I know that a lot of people headcannon that Akutagawa is asexual, I agree with that a bit, so I had done some research, I think Akutagawa would be a sex-favorable or sex-neutral asexual, or Demisexual, idk really, I am a form of asexual, but I don’t really know how to portray him like that specifically, but tell me what you think… back to present~ OoOoOo~)

Atsushi clung to Akutagawa’s side, sighing as the two relaxed together. “And now I get to relax with my human freezer, what a life, huh Ryūnosuke?” Atsushi smiled up at his tired husband, Akutagawa rolled his eyes.

“I’m not a freezer, your just insanely warm.” He argued, but was too tired to really put much into it, his hair out of its ponytail and messy.

“Agree to disagree. Bath now or tomorrow?” Atsushi smirked back.

“You’ll need to carry me either way.” Akutagawa responded.

“Now it is.” Atsushi sat up and picked Akutagawa up bridle style, carrying him into their bathroom and closing the door behind them, setting Akutagawa down on the side of the bathtub and starting the water running. “Hot or cold bath?” Atsushi asked, Akutagawa coughed into his hand.

“Warm.” He answered, Atsushi shrugged, setting the temperature to warm and letting it fill up, Atsushi grabbed a towel.

“Warm it is then… you think your gonna need a wheelchair?” Atsushi teased, Akutagawa huffed.

“I can use my ability to support my legs once I’m wearing clothes again.” He answered, slipping into the tub once the water was high enough, Atsushi got in as well, sitting in front of Akutagawa and getting the towel wet, starting to clean his husbands body.

“Right, so you just want me to carry you unless someone is there to see.” Atsushi joked.

“Basically.” Akutagawa teased back, Atsushi stuck his tongue out, resting against Akutagawa.

The two finished their bath, drying themselves and returning to bed, pulling on pajama pants and cuddling together on Atsushi’s side of the bed, while Pumpkin and Stormy took over Akutagawa’s side, Jinko was still resting in her perch on the cat tree.

Chapter Text

Chuuya looked in the mirror in his and Dazai’s room, pulling his gloves on. Chuuya had black suit pants, black boots, a white shirt under a black, corseted, low neck, buttoned up shirt, and a red cropped vest. He had a black and red coat over his shoulders but was leaving his red scarf at home today. Chuuya wore his black choker and black gloves as always, his hat atop his head, Chuuya’s ginger hair was in a ponytail.

Chuuya turned away from the mirror and walked out of his room, joining Natasha in the hallway.

Natasha wore her hair in a braid at the moment, wearing a black, sleeveless leather top, and a black skirt, a black coat over her top.

Chuuya narrowed his eyes. “You really gonna wear that?” He questioned as he walked past her to the door.

“This is what I always wear on missions.” Natasha responded, Chuuya turned to her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her closer, their faces inches apart, Chuuya looked at her with narrowed eyes, Natasha’s was wide and shaky in shock and slight fear.

“This isn’t a usual mission, Natasha. You are coming on this mission because Dazai is busy, which means I can’t use corruption if things get serious. You are not in charge today, I am. Not as you father, but as your boss. You listen to be without hesitation, and you stick to the mission. Our goal is to take down this shadow organization, do you understand me?” Chuuya snapped, Natasha’s hand shook, and she nodded.

“I- Yes… yes boss.” She whispered, Chuuya let go and stepped back.

“Good.” He left and Natasha followed him silently, arms wrapped around herself. Chuuya had never snapped at her, he had never snapped at any of them… he was this stressed for the mission…

Natasha quickly sped up to match Chuuya’s pacing, following him to the old warehouse the shadow organization should be at.

Natasha looked at Chuuya, one of the red strings on his finger pointed in the direction they were going, the sound wave that the string kept making read ‘capture’… this was the complicated part of her ability. It was so vague… how could she know if Chuuya was the one being captured or the person on the other end of that string was…

“Father, a string says ‘capture’.” Natasha spoke up, Chuuya looked over.

“Yours or mine?” He asked, Natasha swallowed.

“Yours.”

“Then it’s fine, if I get captured, I’ll just escape, and if I capture someone it’s probably the boss.” Chuuya responded, Natasha looked ahead. Her gut said they should quit, they should leave and give the mission to someone else…

But Chuuya wouldn’t listen to her, not at the moment. He was used to taking down organizations, used to taking them down with Dazai, not her.

Natasha shook her head, she should stop being so nervous, they’d be fine, Chuuya was strong, and they could do this alone.

Natasha and Chuuya stopped in front of the building, Chuuya opened the door and stepped inside, immediately met with someone who tried to punch Chuuya, the man dodged and hit the other in the stomach, sending him flying.

“Terrible defense, but defense in the first place… they knew we were coming, but their scrapping for yen.” Chuuya smirked, walking inside, Natasha followed, dodging someone else and aiming her gun at their head.

“No, guns are too loud, they’ll know we’re here.” Chuuya stopped her, Natasha frowned.

“Hate to break your bubble, but they already know we’re here.” She responded, Chuuya sighed.

“Fine.” He walked ahead as Natasha shot the person, following Chuuya. She looked down at her finger, ‘Traitor’… traitor? Who here knew her well enough to count as a traitor-

A shot rang out and Natasha turned as Chuuya shielded her with his ability, the bullet flew back at the person, who fell back. A bunch of other people revealed themselves, all aimed at Chuuya and Natasha.

Shit, they’re surrounded, if it had just been Chuuya, this wouldn’t have been a problem, he knew he should’ve left Natasha at home. Another shot was fired and Natasha dodged it, shooting back, Chuuya grabbed some bullets from his pocket and used his ability to shoot out two other guys.

Good, this should be easy after all…

“Hold your fire.” Someone spoke, Chuuya and Natasha both looked up as someone walked in, followed by two other people. Both Chuuya and Natasha’s eyes widened.

“Zepher?” Natasha mumbled, looking at the guy who had given the order.

“Shirase? Yuan?” Chuuya whispered, falling to his knees, staring at the two. Yuan refused to look at him, Shirase stared Chuuya dead on, glaring.

“Ah, so you do remember them. I had thought the boss of the Port Mafia would have forgotten about his past friends after he betrayed them.” Zepher grinned, before looking at Natasha, frowning. “Sorry, Nat. I really did like you, but my loyalties are with my family.”

Chuuya’s eyes were shaking, he looked between Shirase and Yuan.

“I am sorry for cutting the reunion short, it’s been a very long time since you’ve seen those you betrayed, hasn’t it Boss of the Port Mafia?” Zepher focused back on Chuuya, Natasha looked down at him.

Chuuya clenched his fists, standing back up. “I didn’t betray them! They betrayed me! And I guess they ended up better off, huh?” Chuuya glared back at Shirase.

“They did, without you holding them back. I admit that for a few years they were struggling, but then they found me, and I brought us back together, as a better ‘Sheep’.” Zepher smirked. “And here’s how it’s going to go, you, Chuuya Nakahara-Dazai, are going to give up and turn yourself in to us.”

“And why would I do that?” Chuuya snapped back.

“Because we have a sniper aimed at Mila, she doesn’t know, of course, but I just have to give the word and they’ll shoot.” Zepher responded, Chuuya’s knees felt weak again. Mila? He was threatening Mila?

“You can’t turn yourself in.” Natasha argued, noticing the look in Chuuya’s eyes, Chuuya looked back at Natasha.

“I already told you, if they capture me, I’ll just escape. Go home.” Chuuya responded, starting to walk towards Zepher, his hands raised.

“But-” Natasha stood frozen.

“You promised you’d listen to me, didn’t you? Now go.” Chuuya snapped, Natasha swallowed, she hated this… but she turned and ran.

Chuuya stopped in front of Zepher and someone else walked up, pulling his hands behind his back and tying them. Stupid of them to think this would stop him… “You like your new Boss, Saya?” Chuuya asked the person behind him, they said nothing. Figures, Chuuya sighed.

Mila and Rei watched one of Mila’s shows silently, with Nola resting her head on Mila’s lap, Rei looked up when Natasha walking inside, eyes wide with horror.

“Nat? What happened?” Rei asked, standing up and pausing Mila’s show. “Where’s Ma?”

“They… they got him… they have Father…” Natasha whispered, looking at Mila and Rei.

“What? Who? Who got Ma? How?” Rei walked over to Natasha, Mila followed nervously, Nola in tow.

“The… The ‘Sheep’… the shadow organization… they got Father… because there was and might still be a sniper aimed at Mila.” Natasha’s eyes were wide, she stormed to a window and closed the blinds, Rei ran to another and closed those as well, using his shadow ability to close any other blinds that might allow them to be seen in the living room.

“What now? We need to save Ma.” Rei turned to Natasha, who held Mila close, with Nola sitting next to Mila.

“We… Dad would never let us endanger ourselves… do you still know where he hid the sedative?” Natasha asked, Rei nodded.

“As long as he hasn’t moved it since I found it last.” He answered, leaving the room.

“You have a weird obsession with drugs!” Natasha shouted after him, still holding Mila close.

Rei didn’t respond, until he returned with a glass of something, and a handkerchief. “Now what?” Rei kneeled down with Mila and Natasha.

“Now, we wait for dad to get home before using the sedative on him.” Natasha answered.

“But he’s probably immune to sedatives at this point.” Rei responded.

“No, we’ll just need to restrain him really quickly.” Natasha argued back, Mila watched the two silently.

“This isn’t going to work.” Rei sighed, dripping some of the sedative onto the cloth.

“Let’s hope it does.” Natasha responded, Rei frowned, handing Natasha the cloth, Natasha held it away from Nola when the dog tried to sniff it. “Mila, stay here with Nola.” Natasha stood and Mila moved to cling to Nola.

Natasha and Rei walked to the door, Natasha stood at a spot that would be covered by the door when it opened, while Rei stood in front of the door, he pulled out his phone.

Silence filled the space, until the door opened and Dazai walked in, hanging up his coat. “Oh, hey Rei, what are you do-” Dazai started before Natasha rushed forward and pressed the cloth to Dazai’s mouth, just praying he’d fall asleep.

Dazai’s eyes widened, but his eyes closed and he fell limp. Natasha pulled away. “You think we got him?” She asked.

“Can't be sure.” Rei responded, picking Dazai up with his shadows and bringing Dazai to the living room.

Natasha got some rope and tied Dazai to the living room table, taking the gun from its spot at Dazai’s waist. “Okay, I’m going to save father, you guys make sure dad doesn’t stop me.” Natasha said as she left the room.

“Right, if you die, I’m blaming you!” Rei responded, Natasha flipped him off when Mila wasn’t looking, grabbing Dazai’s coat and putting it on, slipping the gun into one of the pockets.

Natasha left without another word.

Only a few minutes later, Dazai opened his eyes, looking between Rei and Mila. “Care to explain why I’m tied up?” He raised an eyebrow, Rei’s eyes widened.

“Uh- ya… Ma’s been captured… we knew you wouldn’t let us go save him, so we tied you up. Natasha’s going to save Ma.” He explained slowly.

Dazai was silent. Chuuya… captured… fuck. Natasha was saving him? If they had gotten Chuuya, Natasha wouldn’t stand a chance…

Chapter Text

“You keep watch Mila.” Rei stood up and walked to the kitchen, Dazai watched the boy go before looking back at his youngest daughter sitting with their dog.

“Mila. Listen to me sweetheart. Natasha is going to die, if you don’t let me out. I’m going to get your mother back, but Natasha is going to die if I don’t help.” Dazai immediately spoke, Mila’s eyes widened. “Sweetie, trust me, I’ll help both of them, I just need you to free me.” Dazai smiled hopefully.

Mila was silent before she walked over and untied the knots. Dazai could’ve easily untied them himself, but he didn’t want to have to hurt his kids. Dazai pulled his hands away from the table and turned to Mila, on his knees as he pulled her into a hug.

“Thank you, Mila. I’m going to get Chuuya and Natasha, trust me sweetie.” Dazai smiled softly, Mila nodded slowly as Dazai grabbed the emergency gun from under the table, and stood up, pocketing it and leaving, closing the door behind him just as Rei walked back into the living room.

“Mila, where’s dad?” Rei immediately questioned, Mila was silent, pointing to the door. “Oh fuck…”

(Meanwhile)

“You disgust me.” Chuuya hissed, Yuan frowned, Shirase scowled.

“You’re the one who betrayed us in the first place-”

“-But I didn’t! I already said that you betrayed me first. I had no intentions of betraying the Sheep, and even when you tried to kill me, I was the one that made sure none of the Sheep members were killed when the Port Mafia retaliated!” Chuuya snapped, on his knees with his hands tied behind his back.

“You were planning on betraying us!” Shirase snapped back, Chuuya frowned.

“I wasn’t-” He started.

“What drama, it’s entertaining to watch, to say the least.” Zepher walked up in front of them, Chuuya narrowed his eyes at the boy. “You will be sold to someone whose very interested in you.”

“You do understand I can get out of here whenever I want?” Chuuya scuffed.

“I doubt you’d be able to stand against my buyer.” Zepher responded.

“We’ll see about that.” Chuuya narrowed his eyes.

Natasha watched from behind some crates, she was about to act, when a hand closed around her mouth and pulled her back.

“We need to think this through.” A voice whispered, Natasha pulled away and turned to face her dad.

“Your not going to stop me?” She whispered.

“No, we’re saving Chuuya together. So, what’s your plan?” Dazai responded.

“Well… from what I can tell, none of them have abilities, if I go from the right and you from the left-” Natasha started.

“No.” Dazai cut her off. “I got right you go left, your not fighting that boy in charge.” Dazai added.

“I want to beat him up for using me.” Natasha hissed back, Dazai narrowed his eyes at Natasha before sighing.

“Fine.” He scuffed, Natasha nodded and the two split up.

“Who even is your buyer?” Chuuya spoke up again.

“She-” Yuan started before Zepher interrupted.

“It would be stupid to tell you.” He snapped, Yuan fell silent.

“True.” Chuuya sighed and shrugged, noticing movement to the right, he mentally cursed.

Shirase cried out in pain as he got shot in the arm, pulling out his gun and shooting back at whoever had hit him, Zepher turned as well, taking out his own gun but a bullet just barely missed his neck and her turned around to face Natasha.

“Well shit, I thought you had run off.” Zepher blanked before shooting at Natasha, the girl dodged, running up to Zepher and punching him across the face, grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back, holding her gun to his head with her other hand.

Natasha looked over, the Shirase guy was on the ground and Yuan stood to the side awkwardly as Dazai untied Chuuya’s bindings.

Chuuya turned to Dazai and kissed him. “I could’ve freed myself.” Chuuya smirked, Dazai chuckled, helping Chuuya up.

“But I wanted to help anyway.” He responded. Chuuya rolled his eyes, turning to Natasha.

“Thank you, Nat.” He mumbled. “You did good.”

Natasha looked away. “Whatever.”

The sound of heels against the ground grew louder, along with the sound of a slow, one person applause. Everyone looked up as a woman walked in.

The woman seemed in her mid 20, she had black hair in a high ponytail, and it reached to her waist, her bangs framed her face, with some of her hair only reaching to her shoulders and staying out of the ponytail.

The woman had a tight, somewhat stretchy black skirt that reached a bit above her knees, she wore a white blouse that tucked into the skirt, and her sleeves rolled up past her elbows, she wore a loose bow around the collar of her blouse and it was unbuttoned on the top two buttons.

She had black stockings from under the skirt and wore black, heeled, military boots. She had a black suit jacket over her shoulders and wore black fingerless gloves. The woman had many tattoos all across her arms and legs, and a few peaked out on her collarbone from under her shirt.

The woman had cold, brown almost black eyes and she wore red lipstick and dark purple eyeshadow, along pale, smooth skin across her face.

“Who are you?” Natasha snapped, the woman looked to Natasha for a moment, an almost unnoticeable hint of… want? In her eyes, before she focused on Chuuya and Dazai.

“My name is Pharis Maja, I work with the Special Division for Unusual Powers, I work under Mr. Ango Sakaguchi. I had originally come here to free a Chuuya Nakahara, but it seems that assistance was unnecessary. However… I will be taking these three into custody.” The woman looked between Yuan, Shirase and Zepher.

Chuuya looked over Pharis for a moment before smiling, relaxing. “Right, go ahead. Thank you.” Chuuya nodded, Pharis nodded back, two men walking in behind her, one taking Yuan’s wrist and cuffing her, and the other going to Shirase, who was still bleeding on the ground.

Pharis walked over to Natasha. “Can I take him for you?” Pharis tilted her head to the side, Natasha moved away.

“Thank you.” Natasha responded, Pharis nodded, taking Zepher and cuffing him.

Dazai watched with narrowed eyes. “We’re really letting them just take him?” Dazai whispered to Chuuya, it was odd that Chuuya and Natasha were trusting this woman so easily…

“Why wouldn’t we?” Chuuya responded, watching as Pharis and the two men left with Yuan, Zepher and Shirase. Dazai stared at Chuuya, something was wrong… but he couldn’t place what it was. “Let’s go home.” Chuuya added, taking Dazai’s hand.

Dazai watched as Chuuya seemed to pause for a moment upon contact with Dazai, before shaking his head and walking off, Dazai frowned, something was definitely up. But he followed Chuuya and Natasha anyway.

Chapter Text

After Fyodor’s defeat, nearly nineteen years ago now, Atsushi had gotten his hands on The Book, and had written a few things. They went vaguely like this.

“After Fyodor’s defeat, those of both the Armed Detectives Agency and Port Mafia who had been killed by Fukuchi returned to reality, now able to be safe. Bram Stoker’s ability allowed him to survive on his own. Those who had been vampires were no longer afflicted.”

He had gone on to add a few other things, but that was unimportant for this specific point.

Atsushi Nakajima brought back Bram Stoker, because the girl who had helped him and Akutagawa, Aya, had begged him to do so, and Atsushi had complied.

Bram had afterwards agreed to help the government in order to make up for his crimes, and eventually moved in with Aya, who had been living with Kunikida and messing up his schedule terribly.

And when Bram moved in, he completely ruined Kunikida’s ideals, but you know what they say, you can’t choose who you love, and Kunikida supposed he could change his ideals at least once in his life…

But never again.

(Back in present)

“Ms. Maja, Sakaguchi-Kun wants a report of your mission from last night.” Aya rushed to walk next to Pharis.

“Tell him I’ll write my report later.” Pharis responded.

“I’ll let him know… where are you going?” Aya stopped herself from rolling her eyes.

“The detention sector.” The other responded.

“Are you going to talk with those three Sheep members? You know your not currently permitted to converse with them…” Aya spoke back.

“I brought them in, Ango won’t mind me speaking with them.” Pharis snapped back, Aya nodded slowly, watching Pharis enter the detonation sector.

Aya sighed, turning away and clocking out of work for a break, she took out her phone, it was 4 in the morning, on a Saturday, Kunikida and Bram were probably still asleep… but Aya didn’t much care, she called Kunikida’s phone as she got in her car.

Kunikida, meanwhile, lay in bed, his short blond hair was messy, his glasses on the bedside table as he wore no shirt and some pajama pants, behind him, Bram lay asleep, wearing a sweater of Kunikida’s and a pair of black pants. Bram clung to Kunikida from behind, arms wrapped around the blond’s waist, forehead against his back.

Kunikida slowly opened an eye when his phone lit up. He sighed, slowly grabbing his glasses and putting them on as he sat up on his side, picking up his phone to see who was calling him at 4:02 in the morning on a weekend.

Bram immediately woke up to Kunikida’s movements, he was a light sleeper, and sat up as well, tiredly resting his chin on Kunikida’s shoulder as his tired mind tried to read the text on the screen.

“Who is it My Lady?” Bram whispered tiredly, his long hair falling over his shoulders.

“Aya.” Kunikida mumbled back, sighing and answering, putting the phone to his ear. “Yes Aya?” He greeted as he answered, Aya spoke from the other side, but Bram couldn’t pick up the girls words.

Kunikida listened before speaking again. “Alright, we’ll see you soon.” He hung up and set his phone back down, sitting up and turning on the lamp light, Bram squinted and rolled away, hiding his face in his pillow. Kunikida sighed, leaning over and pushing Bram’s hair to the side a bit, pressing a kiss to his lovers shoulder. “Aya is going to be here in ten minutes, I’m going to make some breakfast for me and her, she’s grabbing some blood for you on the way.”

Bram squinted up at Kunikida before sighed and slowly sitting up. “I’m tired, My Lady.” He whispered.

“I know, I’m going to get dressed, take your time.” Kunikida responded, standing up, grabbing his work clothes and walking into the bathroom. Bram watched Kunikida for a moment before laying back down, on his back.

Kunikida walked back into the room, dressed for work, turning the lights on and going to make breakfast. Bram lay for a few more seconds before sitting and standing up, walking to his closet and grabbing his black coat, black pants and gray shirt.

Bram changed into it, tiredly walking to the bathroom and looking himself in the mirror before splashing his face with water and pulling his hair up onto a ponytail.

Bram sighed, leaving the bathroom and entering the kitchen, Aya sat at the counter, she looked up when Bram walked in and grinned.

“Welcome to the land of the awake, Bram-Chan.” She greeted, Bram nodded back tiredly, sitting down.

“How’s work?” Kunikida asked Aya as he passed her some breakfast, before taking a small pack of blood and pouring it into a glass cup, sliding it over to Bram.

“Fine, it’s annoying, but as long as it helps the agency’s stability, it’s worth it.” Aya shrugged as she ate and spoke.

“Don’t talk with your mouth full.” Kunikida scolded, Aya rolled her eyes as Bram watched absently, drinking the blood from the glass.

“How does it feel to be back with the agency?” Aya spoke up after swallowing what had been in her mouth.

“You’ve been asking me that for that past five years.” Kunikida responded calmly.

“I know.” Aya shrugged and huffed.

The three quickly finished breakfast, Aya left to go back to work, Kunikida got ready in a rush to go to the agency, while Bram entered his private room, putting on headphones, starting a playlist and stepping into his coffin, letting it close with him inside.

“Love you Bram!” Kunikida called as he left. Bram was too focused on his music to hear, as he always was.

As the day moved on, Kunikida realized he was missing one of his documents, and he quickly texted Bram about it, Kunikida did what he could of his work while he waited, and in half an hour, Bram walked into the Armed Detectives Agencies office, setting the papers Kunikida had requested on the desk.

“Thank you Bram.” Kunikida thanked.

“Of course, My Lady. I’m going to head to ‘work’.” Bram turned away tiredly.

“Be careful, Dear.” Kunikida responded, Bram left.

“And to think we thought you were straight 19 years ago.” Dazai teased, Kunikida ignored him and refocused on his own work, Dazai decided to annoy Sigma instead.

For Bram, the vampire walked through the streets tiredly, walking into a government building, and meeting with Ango Sakaguchi, who lead him through the building to the back where the two discussed ability users Bram knew about, for maybe an hour before Bram went back home.

Chapter Text

Chuuya sat with Dazai, Mila and Rei at the dining table, eating silently, not much conversation going around, especially since Natasha had been hauled up in her room for a whole week now.

Mila was silent, watching the three others. Dazai’s gaze sharpens on Chuuya as the man stands up and leaves the table, taking some food to Natasha’s room and knocking on the door before opening it, giving Natasha the food before returning to the table.

“Do you think we’re going to be stuck with a broken Natasha forever now?” Rei spoke up absently, messing with his food instead of eating it.

“Don’t mess with your food, and she’s not broken, she’s dealing with a realization, that’s very different.” Chuuya snapped back, Dazai watched, forcing himself to eat, he didn’t want to get Chuuya even more irritated or mad right now.

“Mama…” Mila spoke up quietly, Chuuya tensed at the title, almost as if holding back a flinch… Chuuya had always been okay with the feminine terms at times… Dazai listened silently.

“…” Chuuya swallowed his food. “Yes, Mila dear?”

“Is Nat going to be okay?”  The girl asked, concerned for the older sister she had always known to be confident.

“Of course she’s going to be okay.” Chuuya comforted, forcing a smile.

Dazai finished half his meal, standing up from the table and walking to the kitchen to clear his plate. Chuuya noticed and stood as well, following him.

“You need to eat.” Chuuya frowned as Dazai cleaned his plate.

“Drop it, will you?” Dazai snapped back, Chuuya’s eyes widened in surprise.

“What did you just say to me?” He scowled.

“I told you to drop it, Natasha hasn’t left her room, I’m not hungry, so just drop it.” Dazai set the now empty plate to the side. “I’m going to check on Natasha, go finish your food.” Dazai walked away, Chuuya clench his fist.

“Fucking idiot.” He scowled, walking back to the dining room.

Dazai walked upstairs and sighed, gaining his composure and knocking on the door for Natasha’s room. He waited for a second before speaking. “Natasha, can I come inside?”

“Sure.” Natasha mumbled, Dazai opened the door and stepped inside, closing the door behind him, walking over and sitting down on Natasha’s bed, watching her on her computer at the desk in her room.

“How have you been?” Dazai asked softly, hopeful.

“Fine.” Natasha grumbled, not looking up.

“Uh… what are you looking at?” Dazai forced a smile.

“Universities.” The girl responded, Dazai froze.

“Uh… what?”

“I’m looking at Universities.” Natasha repeated.

“Is… it really the best time to go to university?” Dazai frowned.

“Yes. I need to get away from here and busy myself with learning.” Natasha responded, continuing to click through her computer.

“Well… any ideas so far? I’ll talk with Chuuya about it.” Dazai offered.

“Tokyo.” Natasha finally looked up.

“… What?” Dazai’s expression blanked.

“I want to go to the University of Tokyo.” Natasha clarified.

“I… I’ll talk to Chuuya about it… goodnight…” Dazai slowly stood up, taking Natasha’s empty plate with him as he left the room, Natasha watched him go.

(Later that night)

“So… Chuuya…” Dazai looked over at his lover, who was reading a book silently.

“Hm?” Chuuya didn’t look up.

“I talked to Natasha… and… uh… she’s interested in going to a university…” Dazai spoke slowly, Chuuya finally looked up.

“What? Seriously? Now?” He raised an eyebrow.

“Ya… she said she wanted to get away from Yokohama for a while and wanted to go back to studying… she’s interested in the University of Tokyo…” Dazai responded slowly. “I told her I’d talk to you about it.”

“I… University of Tokyo?” Chuuya frowned, closing his book and setting it to the side.

“Yeah…” Dazai watched Chuuya closely.

“I suppose if she wants that… but…” Chuuya sighed. “I’ll talk to her about it tomorrow.” He finally said, Dazai nodded, understanding that it was late and he probably should’ve brought it up at some other time.
