"Akutagawa!" Atsushi shouted, running towards the other.
Atsushi and Akutagawa, along with Dazai and surprisingly Chuuya, had all been sent on a mission.
A mission to stop a plan of the Decay Of Angels.
That's how they got here.
To Akutagawa hanging over an alleyway from the roof of a five story building (I needed the height of a building *cough* what? Nothings going to happen😁)
The four had been fighting Nikolai and Fyodor, though Fyodor more watched.
Atsushi leaned over the building and held his hand out to Akutagawa, who took it as Atsushi pulled Akutagawa up.
The two fell to the ground, panting. Akutagawa started to cough and Atsushi stood up, turning to watch Chuuya and Dazai.
Nikolai was keeping a distance from Dazai.
Atsushi locked eyes with Fyodor. Fyodor smirked. Atsushi flipped his father off.
No one knew.
No one... but the Decay Of Angels and Atsushi.
Not even Akutagawa knew.
And it would stay that way, as long as Atsushi was alive.
'Cub. You should take a break.' Byakko appeared next to Atsushi, the tall tiger woman looked down at Atsushi.
Atsushi ignored her and helped Akutagawa up.
'I'll take a break later.' He thought back to her as Akutagawa stood and leaned against Atsushi.
Byakko disappeared as Akutagawa got his footing again.
Atsushi quickly ran to help Dazai and Chuuya. Not that they needed help. He just wanted to help.
"Dazai-San!" Atsushi shouted, Dazai turned to Atsushi and grinned.
"Atsushi! Great!" He called
Chuuya rolled his eyes as the two talked.
"Weretiger, distract that clown. If you fall, I'll get you." Chuuya snapped. Atsushi nodded, rushing towards Nikolai.
Nikolai quickly dodged an attack, laughing. Atsushi froze at the gun pointed at his head. Even if he knew Nikolai wouldn't shoot.
Atsushi turned to face Nikolai and started to back towards the edge, thinking he had more room than he did.
He took the last step he would take, but there was no ground beneath that foot.
"Chuuya!" Atsushi shouted as he started to fall backwards, Chuuya turned and cursed under his breath, running towards Atsushi.
There wasn't enough time, Atsushi fell backwards and off the building.
It was quiet.
Everyone froze.
Fyodor's face paled and Akutagawa stopped coughing.
Chuuya stepped forward, once, twice, thrice. He looked over the edge and fell to his knees, hands over his mouth, his eyes wide.
"D-Dazai..." Chuuya whispered, Dazai rushed over and looked down, he stumbled back.
"No, no, no. No. No, no that should be me. I was supposed to die first." Dazai said, falling backwards.
Akutagawa was next to look over the edge. He said nothing as tears made their way to his eyes.
"What have you done, Jinko?" Akutagawa whispered.
Fyodor was finally able to move as he walked to the edge, looking over as well, he stepped away and looked to Nikolai.
"Moy Syn..." He whispered. Nikolai fell to his knees, no longer smiling or laughing.
Fyodor turned and ran down the stairs of the building to check.
(I'm sorry. I know it's kinda out of character for him to be so worried and stuff. But I want at least some of this to not be angsty. So Fyodor is trying to be a good father... emphasis on the trying. Also, Moy Syn means My Son in Russian😌👏I think...)
Dazai stood up and rushed after Fyodor, not trusting the other.
Chuuya had closed his eyes to no longer see and Akutagawa turned away from the edge.
Both of them heard shuffling below, Nikolai probably did as well, but it didn't register in him. He could only think of one thing.
This was supposed to be good. I was supposed to be freed by Fedya killing me... Not me killing his son... I'm the reason Sushi is dead...
(Yes. I do have Nikolai calling Atsushi, Sushi)
"Hey Chibi!" Dazai suddenly shouted from the alleyway. He sounded confused.
Chuuya opened his eyes and looked down, his face paled.
"What did you do!" Chuuya snapped, standing up and grabbing Akutagawa's arm, pulling him down the stairs with him as the two ran to the alleyway, leaving Nikolai behind.
Akutagawa froze at what he saw...
Where was Atsushi? He was... gone... there was blood... but no Atsushi.
"Where the fuck is he!" Chuuya snapped at Dazai as the two walked up. Dazai was silent.
"He was gone when I got here." Fyodor whispered, Akutagawa turned to Fyodor.
"Why do you even care! For all we know, you could have taken his body somewhere before Dazai-San got down here!"
"No. I wouldn't do that." Fyodor responded calmly.
"How do you expect us to believe you!" Akutagawa snapped.
"Akutagawa." Dazai stopped him. Aku fell silent, taking a step back.
"I..." Akutagawa felt the grief return and he fell to his knees.
"I'm going to call boss." Chuuya whispered, backing away and taking out his phone.
(Time skip ^_^)
"I can't believe he's gone..." Kyouka whispered, sitting next to Dazai at the table. A week after Atsushi's death and the Port Mafia, Armed Detectives Agency, and Decay Of Angels had met up on 'peaceful' terms.
"No. No. He's not dead! He must have just hit his head and then walked off!" Kunikida snapped. Dazai frowned.
"It's no use, Kunikida. You'll only hurt more if you let yourself believe that." He whispered.
Kunikida dropped his head into his hands. "Damnit. The kid was too young to die."
"It is very... unfortunate..." Mori spoke, Dazai scowled as the man spoke.
"It's not just unfortunate. It's a tragedy." Fyodor responded coldly. Nikolai sat next to him, silent for once in his life. Sigma sat as well.
"What was your connection to Atsushi?" Kyouka whispered, looking up at Fyodor. Fyodor eyed the girl for a moment before speaking.
"I was his birth father. We didn't have the best relationship. I was trying to make amends. I guess I was too late." Fyodor responded.
"Oh..." Kyouka was silent.
Everyone was to numb from the fact that Atsushi was dead, or shocked by how calmly Fyodor revealed his connection to the boy.
"Damnit. This was my fault." Akutagawa whispered, his head in his hands.
"No it wasn't. It was mine. I promised to catch him." Chuuya responded.
"I'm his boyfriend! I should have protected him!" Akutagawa snapped, punching the table. Everyone fell silent again.
Before Akutagawa's words finally hit, not only was Fyodor Atsushi's father, but Akutagawa had been dating the weretiger?
The room erupted into shouts of argument for a while before Mori was able to 'calm everyone down'
The room fell silent again.
"We must find his body." Fyodor spoke after some time.
"Why is it so important?" Fukuzawa questioned.
"Moy Syn's ability rests in his body. So technically, if you have his body, you can exploit his ability. The healing, the strength... if whoever took his body knows that..." Fyodor trailed off, Dazai finished for him, eyes wide.
"They could exploit it."
"Yes. And I doubt your ability would be able to nullify an ability where the wielder isn't the true user." Fyodor responded.
"We need to find his body." Dazai said.
"Yes. We will. Somehow." Kyouka responded.
(Scene change this time)
"Ow... my head hurts..." Atsushi opened his eyes to the beam of a bright light. He looked down. What was he wearing?
Atsushi sat up, his palm against his forehead.
He wasn't wearing his orphanages uniform?
"Where am I?" Atsushi whispered, looking around.
"You're in my office." A man responded, Atsushi narrowed his eyes as the man walked up to him.
"Who are you?" Atsushi asked.
"You don't remember me? I'm disappointed. I was like a father for you. After your orphanage kicked you out." The man responded, smiling.
Atsushi was about to repeat his question, but the man spoke first. "Seki Ryota. That's my name." The man answered.
"What happened?" Atsushi questioned.
"You died. I brought you back." Ryota responded, sitting down next to Atsushi on the surgical bed and setting a hand atop Atsushi's head.
The boys eyes widened.
"How?"
"You were killed"
"By who?" Atsushi grew annoyed with the vague answers, until he got the one who was looking for.
"A cruel and manipulative man... named Dazai Osamu... he killed you, after I told you the truth about his lies. No doubt if he saw you alive he'd try to manipulate you again, into believing he was your friend." The man answered.
"Who... Who's Dazai Osamu?" Atsushi asked.
