Work Text:

Togame Jo's day starts earlier than most.

It's 5 am when his eyes blearily open, body already adapted to this routine such that he doesn't need an alarm to wake up. He closes his eyes, telling himself that he can afford to spend another 5 minutes in bed today. After all, today's breakfast has already been prepped in advanced, and all that's left to do is to cook it. This gives him a few more minutes in bed to enjoy the feeling of Sakura's warm body cuddled up against his, a chance for him to pull said body closer and nuzzle into the fluffy hair just below his chin. Taking in the scent of citrus and mint as a means of waking him up to get ready for his day. After what feels like 5 minutes, Togame reaches over and checks his phone only to see "5:15" greeting him. As much as he would like to spend the entire day cuddling, unfortunately for him it wasn't an off day. And so with a heavy heart, he untangles himself and slowly gets up. Letting out a few groans as he stretches and releases the tension from his body.

His morning routine begins proper when he heads over to the attached bathroom and begins washing up. Brushing his teeth with his eyes closed to let them rest a little longer before washing his face with a few splashes of cold water. Next comes a quick gargle of mouthwash, followed by a quick shave courtesy of an electric razor.

Scratching himself as he makes his way to the living room, the first thing he does is to pull the blinds open. Revealing a beautiful view of the city down below while the first rays of the morning sun begin spilling into their living room. He remembers their first day moving in, how Sakura was plastered to the window because he couldn't believe that the view was all his to enjoy. And when night fell and the city beneath them began lighting up, the expression on Sakura's face was more than enough for Togame to know that he made a good choice picking this place out.

Once he's had his fill of being warmed up by the morning sun, he slowly trudges over to the kitchen and begins going through the usual motions of his morning routine. First thing to do is to prepare a cup of tea for himself, the instant bagged stuff since he doesn't have time to sit down and appreciate it if it was brewed with dry leaves. While it steeps, he takes out his phone and begins reviewing Sakura's schedule first. As usual, Sakura's schedule is packed to the brim until the evening. Vocal training first thing in the morning, an afternoon spent in the studio practicing his setlist for an upcoming concert, and to top it all off Sakura has another photoshoot today. Togame is at the very least relieved that it's only three major commitments today. Plus, the photoshoot shouldn't take too long, meaning that Sakura still has time in the evening to properly rest and unwind.

Tea now steeped to his liking, he takes a long and slow sip of it, letting out a soft sigh to no one but himself at the end as he feels it warming him inside out. Well, he should start preparing now so that Sakura can immediately wake up to a nice and hot breakfast.

It doesn't take long for him to get everything started and cooking. Rice already in the cooker, mackerel in the fish grill, now all that's left for Togame to do is to leave the miso soup to simmer and more importantly wake Sakura up. If his timing isn't off, Sakura will be seated just as everything is done and ready to be served. Giving him a hot and hearty breakfast to start his day. Togame can't help but feel a little giddy each and every time he thinks about it, how content Sakura looks being able to enjoy a hot meal in the morning rather than leftovers or convenience store bread because he didn't know how to cook nor did he have time to properly sit down and eat. But that was all in the past, and now the only thing he has to focus on is making sure Sakura eats well.

Once he's done beating the eggs, he leaves the mixture behind on the table and wipes his hands before heading back to their shared bedroom. Carefully pushing the door open, he peaks inside to see Sakura still fast asleep. A fond smile finds its way onto Togame's face once he realizes that Sakura had migrated over towards his spot instead, curled up and likely trying to revel in whatever remaining body warmth there was. He has to resist the urge to audibly coo and awe as he walks over to Sakura.

Gently as though he were rousing a cat from its deep slumber, he shakes Sakura's shoulders and leans down to speak directly into his ear.

"Sakura~ It's time to wake up~"

Sakura grumbles, turning onto his side away from the windows to avoid the inevitable burst of sunlight that's soon to follow. The moment he feels the warmth of the sun hit the back of his head, Sakura burrows even deeper into the sheets to try and escape it. No matter how many times he sees it, it's always the cutest sight in the world, the way Sakura would try to burrow and hide like a kitten wanting to go back to sleep. Togame takes hold of the sheets and begins to pull at them, easily winning the battle of strength against a sleepy Sakura who's barely able to keep them wrapped around him.

"Sakura~ Don't be like that, I already have breakfast ready and waiting for you. If you don't get up now, I'll be forced to make you get up~"

And much to Togame's disappointment, the mention of food is enough to wake Sakura up this time. Depriving him of a much anticipated tickle session that'll leave Sakura breathless and begging for mercy. Still, he'll take what he can get as he smooths out Sakura's hair so that he can press a kiss onto Sakura's forehead. He gets a sleepy grumble followed by Sakura flopping over and leaning onto him once he sits up. Were it not for today's busy schedule, this was more than enough for Togame to instantly apologize for waking Sakura up and tuck him back in to let him resume sleeping. But alas, Togame isn't very keen on getting the both of them chided for tardiness again.

"Nice try Sakura, but we have a busy day today." Togame supports Sakura's head against his body, idly running his fingers through Sakura's hair.

"Was worth a shot."

"Now go wash up, I need to make sure your breakfast isn't burning."

Togame leans down to give Sakura one more good morning kiss before he finally returns to the kitchen. Leaving Sakura alone in their bedroom to properly wake up and start his day.

Sakura's morning routine has a few extra (Read: A dozen) steps compared to Togame. After getting up and stretching to release any lingering tension in his body, he trudges over to the bathroom to begin washing up. Unlike Togame, Sakura idly scrolls through his phone with one hand while brushing his teeth with the other. Reading through group chats to see what he missed and checking if he received any business emails outside of working hours. Of course, it wasn't his job to reply to them anyway, that was what Togame was here for.

Next comes the part he dreads the most, but alas it's a necessary evil. He opens a side cabinet to reveal a whole collection of skincare products and lets out a long sigh before automatically taking out what he needs for the day. Cleanser, toner, facial oil, moisturizer, and eye cream. All things he once considered unnecessary luxuries at the start of his career, now a pain in the ass since he has to keep up appearances and give the camera something to feast on.

And like always, the moment he leaves their bedroom and walks into the living room breakfast is already set out for him. Togame sits on the opposite end of the table, already halfway through his own breakfast. It's a calm and peaceful scene, though the moment Sakura sits down and begins eating he knows that the peace won't last for much longer. He can see Togame set his chopsticks down and pull out his phone.

"Togame, what's on my schedule for today."

"You have vocal training in the morning and a dry rehearsal in the afternoon-"

"Rehearsal for what?"

"For your upcoming concert Sakura, don't tell me you forgot?"

"O-Of course not!" Despite Sakura's protestations, Togame can tell clear as day that the concert had entirely slipped Sakura's mind. Not like he could fully blame Sakura though, considering how it was still at least two months away. Plus, he'd promised Sakura at the start of their relationship as idol and manager that Sakura only had to worry about performing and making music. Togame would deal with everything else, including remembering things on his behalf.

"They also want to go through your setlist again. They're asking if you can try to squeeze in your newest single as an encore."

"Mmm, what else?"

"You have a photoshoot in the evening, promotional material for said concert- Sakura don't give me that look, you were the one who told me to schedule it whenever and this was the only time slot that worked for everyone involved. It won't run late, I promise." Togame considers it a small win that Sakura doesn't outright protest against the photoshoots' timing this time around, only grumbling about it as he continues to eat his breakfast.

As usual, Togame is the first to finish and brings his dishes over to the sink. He'll wash the dishes before he leaves, but for now he has more important things to deal with. Walking back to their bedroom and into the walk-in closet, he first sets out his clothes for the day. Luckily he doesn't have any meetings today, so he can settle for wearing his usual suit with a turtleneck underneath instead of the usual shirt and tie. Next comes the hard part, preparing Sakura's outfit for the day.

Togame gets the easy parts out of the way. Black pants with the usual set of boots. Now came the real challenge, what shirt should Sakura wear for the day. It takes a lot of internal back and forth as well as double checking with the photoshoot's request. In the background, he can hear the bathroom door closed followed by the sounds of the shower being turned on. A sign that Togame didn't have the luxury of time on his side today. In the end he manages to pull through with a blue floral patterned shirt and a red overcoat to accompany it.

After getting dressed, he comes out with the pile of folded clothes in his arms just in time to see Sakura come out of the shower. Hair still wet, wrapped in a fluffy bathrobe with a towel around his neck. Neither of them need to say anything for them to fall back into their usual routine. Togame sets the clothes down on the bed while Sakura sits in front of their dresser and lets Togame work his magic. His hair is gently blow dried and styled, and he'll never admit it but this was one of the highlights of his mornings. Being able to feel Togame's fingers running through his hair and trying to sneakily scratch his scalp as if Sakura couldn't tell what he was up to.

Hair dried and styled, Togame excuses himself and gives Sakura some privacy to change into his outfit while he continues preparing everything they need for the day. Cold water for when he gets thirsty, lozenges for him to suck on after vocal training, bandages in case Sakura's guitar cuts into his fingers again, cold compress in case he gets a headache or migraine, everything ends up deposited neatly into Togame's backpack. An all in one kit that accounts for almost all of Sakura's needs. He doesn't need to prepare any bento lunch for today, given that Sakura already had lunch scheduled with fellow idol and manager duo Nirei and Suo. Still, it was a bit of a pain to try and push his rehearsal back just to accommodate the lunch, but if it meant making Sakura happy then Togame was more than happy to negotiate and promise that Sakura did not need the full rehearsal time.

"Togame, you remembered to make a reservation at the restaurant for lunch right?" Togame looks up to see Sakura walking out of their bedroom, fully dressed in the outfit he picked out. Something inside him swells with pride at how good Sakura looks wearing clothes that he specifically chose, though to him Sakura would look good in just about anything.

"Of course I did Sakura. Reservation for four at 12 pm, so we should have an hour to relax after your vocal training."

Togame does one final check to make sure he has everything they need for the day. Once he's sure they're not missing anything, he puts the backpack on and opens the door for Sakura to leave first before grabbing the car keys and giving their home one final look to make sure he hasn't forgotten anything. Certain that nothing's been forgotten, he finally closes the door behind him. A signal that their day has finally begun.
