Work Header

Late Night

Summary:

Planet awoke to the sound of a light knocking on his door. Before he could get up fully the door had already opened. It was Spoke. His hair looked disheveled and kinda shaking.

“Planet are you awake?” he whispered out into the dark. The small light coming from the door illuminated Spoke’s back though his eyes slightly glowed which showcased part of his face.“Yeah. Did yah need somethin?” Planet managed to mumble out. He turned to the side to look at Spoke trying not to awaken the other on his bed. “Could I stay with you? I had a.. I can’t sleep,” Spoke muttered.

Notes:

I might make a remake of this in the later future because this fic is a little old
also thx to my friend for editing this

Work Text:

Planet awoke to the sound of a light knock on his door. Before he could get up fully the door had already opened. It was Spoke. His hair looked disheveled and kinda shaking.

“Planet, are you awake?” he whispered out into the dark. I had a..I can’t sleep,” Spoke muttered. He was clearly in the wrong state of mind and how could he say no to his teammate who was practically his family. “Yeah, that’s fine. I do have Parrot on the other side of me as well, just letting you know.” he watched as the door slowly shut. Soon, a small click was heard in the room.

Planet lifted up part of the blanket on his right side opposite of where Parrot slept. Spoke steadily made his way towards where he thought the bed was. He became more careful as he got closer and closer to the bed worried he would bump into something. Thankfully, he didn’t bump into anything.

Spoke sat at the edge of the bed for a minute. The silence was getting more awkward for Planet. “Lay down bro. C’mon,” he said. If Spoke was going to stay he might as well just sleep here while he’s at it. “I’ll take up too much space,” he replied back with. A sigh came out of Planet’s mouth. The bed was a super king size. Which should be enough to fit about three people.

Planet’s bed was specifically a super king because of situations like these. Even if he didn’t enjoy sleeping in the middle, at least he knew both Spoke and Parrot would be comfortable.

“Dude, my bed was made for three people. Just lay down,” he sighed out. Spoke momentarily hesitated before finally laying down and his back faced Planet. ”Do you wanna talk about it?” Planet said softly, a bit concerned. “Not really. Not right now,” he mumbled. Planet let out a hm. There wasn’t much he could do if Spoke didn’t want to talk. He turned to the side to face Planet. A couple of tears ran down his face, as Planet watched him start crying and closed his eyes no longer wanting to watch. He couldn’t stand to watch one of the people he considered family to cry.

Spoke wrapped his arms around Planet’s waist and put his face onto his chest. In return he placed one of his arms somewhere below Spoke’s arm to circle on his back and the other going through his hair. Planet could feel part of his hoodie getting wet where Spoke’s face was. Neither of them made a noise. Whether it’d be because Parrot was also sleeping peacefully beside them or because there was nothing to be said.

After a few minutes of this and Planet felt the arms around him go limp. As he went to close his eyes again he felt a tap on his back. So close to drifting off, but it seemed Parrot wanted something. He took a deep breath in and out waiting for Parrot to say whatever he wanted to say.

“Planet? Did something happen?” Parrot managed to slur out still in between the line of consciousness and sleep. Planet could guess when they’d woken up. “Spoke had a bad dream so he’s here now,” he whispered. Parrot’s hands skimmed around on his back trying to feel if Spoke’s hands were near. Once their hands felt Spoke’s, they moved to wrap their one arms around Planet as well. “What was it about?” they mumbled as they put their face onto his back. “Don’t know, didn’t ask,” he yawned. Both of their eyelids were starting to progressively get heavier as the conversation continued.

“Did we wake you up?” he kept in a low tone. His hands still combed through Spoke’s hair trying to battle somnolence. He couldn’t help it. He was warm and comfortable where he was. “Yeah? No? I don’t know,” Parrot’s voice mumbled into his hoodie.

Again, he felt the arm of another person go limp as they fell into a state of sleepiness.

Planet let out a sigh and let his body succumb to rest for the first time in forever.

They’ll all probably wake up in completely different positions, but right now it was nice. He smiled a little at the thought before he passed out.
