Work Text:

Never in a million years would anyone have expected Onychinus's base to become the home of a happy family. "The King and Queen of the N109 Zone," and their little princess.

"Solana!" A feminine voice rang through the halls. "No running in the halls!" The command was followed by childish giggles as a silver-haired girl darted through the corridors of the vast mansion. She then promptly ran directly into the legs of two identical masked men.

"Woah, woah, hold on, little nuisance." One of them quickly scooped up the child with a laugh. "Kiewan!" The little girl called "Solana" excitedly hugged the man's neck. She somehow always managed to tell the twins apart, something that her mother still had trouble doing. The two were like big brothers to her, often watching her when her parents went on date nights.

Rushed footsteps approached as a panting woman came into view. She sighed in relief, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Thank you. She had a headstart, and I couldn't catch up." Kieran handed the child to her mother. "It's no problem, Mrs. Bossman. She keeps us entertained." The other twin, Luke, replied.

The woman rolled her eyes at the nickname the twins often called her. That's what happens when you're married to the head of Onychinus. Her gaze fell on the girl in her arms, looking into eyes whose color matched her own. "If you don't listen again, Cheffy won't make you a sweet treat after dinner." Solana pouted in response, her lower lip jutting out. "Cheffy" was what Solana called her father's private chef, and she knew her mother was being serious. It wouldn't be the first time.

"What's all the commotion about?" A deep voice tinged with amusement grew closer as the man himself approached. "Oh, it's nothing, Sylus. This little devil just takes after her father in terms of not wanting to listen to my rules." She playfully glared at her husband.

"I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about." Sylus feigned innocence, though his smirk contradicted his words. "Here, why don't you let me take the 'little devil' so you can have a break." He chuckled and gently took the child. "Yay, Daddy!" The little girl replied, to which her mother responded with a sigh. "It's always 'yay, Daddy,' and never 'yay, Mommy!'" The woman mumbled with another sigh, though there was a hint of amusement in her tone.

Sylus kissed his wife's forehead gently. "I've got this taken care of. You go rest." He smiled, and his wife retired to their bedroom for a much-needed nap. His crimson gaze returned to his daughter, glittering with a love that surpassed anything he'd ever felt before. "What do you think about going swimming?" He whispered, and Solana's eyes lit up. "Yes, yes!" She replied excitedly. He dismissed the twins with a grateful nod before carrying his daughter off to her room to help her change into her bathing suit.

The summer sun warmed the silver-haired pair as they splashed around in the pool. They played all sorts of swimming games, and Sylus ensured that Solana was safe the whole time. "Ready?" He asked with a grin, and the little girl nodded with eyes wide with excitement. Sylus carefully tossed her straight up, his strong hands catching her before she hit the water, and he slowly sank her bottom half back into the pool. "Weeeee!" She giggled as she came back down, her arms splashing the water's surface.

Who would've thought that the notorious "mafia boss" would be an incredibly dedicated father? Sylus always made sure she was spoiled rotten, though he also made sure she was grateful for all that she had. Designer children's clothes, all the plushies she could ever want, and lots and lots of time at the park in Linkon, but she was always polite in accepting what she was given. Sylus loved her more than anything, though his love for his wife was strong in a different way. He would do anything for his girls, and he would kill anyone who dared lay a hand on either of them. However, his wife could protect herself. She'd made that clear many times.

Solana. He'd suggested the name shortly after they found out their child would be a girl. His wife loved it, though she didn't know its significance. He was fine to keep it that way. For the flower family, Solonaceae, was the family of nightshades. Also known as... Datura. Never in a million years would anyone have expected Onychinus's base to become the home of a happy family. "The King and Queen of the N109 Zone," and their little princess.
