Work Text:
Three months have passed since A-Chong had last gotten a haircut. His hair has always been on the longer side, compared to Ning Yu, who prefers to keep it short, casually tousled (or Ning Yu had thought before he knew how much work went into maintaining it), the ends going past the nape of his neck. However, it’s now gotten so long that A-Chong has to tie the longer strands at the back into a tiny ponytail.
Which is all good, until he turns the right way and bares the skin on his neck, honeyed skin glistening tantalizingly with sweat.
Ning Yu swallows.
He feigns nonchalance. “Hasn’t it been a long time since you got a haircut, Chong-ge?”
A-Chong seems surprised. “Oh, I thought you haven’t noticed.”
“You know I notice everything about you—I even memorized when you usually get an appointment at the salon.” Ning Yu offers him a piece of chilled pineapple. “But that’s weird, isn’t it?”
“Maybe,” A-Chong muses, pinching the pineapple between his fingers. “But I like it. I like that you know everything about me. Shouldn’t you know that, if you notice everything about me?”
“Using my words back on me like that—unfair!” Ning Yu protests. He knows he’s blushing.
“Silly puppy.” A-Chong pinches his cheek, his fingers cool against Ning Yu’s burning face and sticky with pineapple juice. He’s totally doing that on purpose.
Ning Yu can’t find it in himself to be mad, though.
