It was a whole war.
The car was packed, John driving with Nikolai beside him who had taken over the radio. In the middle was Simon, Johnny and Kyle, with Johnny being squished in the middle of the other two. Up the back of the car was Sarah and Kate, smirks plastered all over their faces as they watch the chaos unfold.
It had been a long while since anyone had gone on vacation, or had a good break off work. So they all decided it would be an amazing idea to go on a trip together. Little did they know, the car ride there would be a whole other story.
"Oi! Let's put on some music, eh?!" Johnny cries out, grinning from ear to ear even in his squished placement between Kyle and Simon. He squirms slightly, earning himself a elbow in the ribs from Simon.
"Da! We shall," Nikolai beams, already grabbing his phone and reaching for the buttons on the dashboard. "What will we listen too?"
"Put on California Girls!" Johnny suggests, getting a nod and grin from Kyle, while the rest of the car groans.
"Fuck off, put something better on," Simon mutters, rolling his eyes and pulling gently on his mask to fix it up. "Metallica, maybe?"
"Don't you think that's getting a bit old, L.T?" Kyle pipes up with a smirk. His remark earns him a dangerous look from Ghost, and he knew what he had said is now going to be the end of him.
"Come on now, boys! Don't fight… let's see. Ah, how about this?" Nikolai chimes in, already starting to play something on his phone, connected to the car speakers.
A soft sound drifts through the car, gentle vocals accompanying the sound. It was soft and gentle, enough to put someone to sleep. He grins proudly at himself, thinking that he had fixed the argument.
"C'mon now Nik, what is that? Cap's trying to drive and you're gonna put him to sleep!" Kyle chuckles, watching Price's expression via the rear view mirror.
"How about we put something fun on? C'mon boys, we're on holidays," Kate finally adds in from the back, silencing most of them. They were all so used to taking orders from her, they weren't used to hearing her be so chill, being a little bit more unprofessional.
"Don't listen to her, we're all doomed if we listen to her taste in music," Sarah teases, earning herself a slap in the tit from Kate and a brow raised in warning.
"We can't spend the entire drive fighting about some bloody music, it's not that hard to choose, surely!" Price snaps playfully. "Nik, put on one of my playlists."
Both of the Sargent's groan in unison as they hear Price's music taste being brought up. "We don't need to listen to that, Cap."
"Its all that 'divorced dad' stuff!" Johnny adds, and they both start laughing over it.
Price just rolls his eyes, leaning back in his seat with one hand on the steering wheel. Nikolai shakes his head and laughs, about to open his mouth to speak before stopping himself once Price shoots him a warning look. "Guess we listen to nothing then."
"Awh, come on! Least make it a little fun!" Johnny pipes up, sitting up higher in his seat before being dragged back down by Simon.
"Yeah, don't be so strict, John," Kate teases, her grin spreading from ear to ear. Beside her Sarah chuckles, smirking as she watches the scene in front of her.
"Oi, your supposed to be on my side here, Kate," John mumbles, fixing his grip on the steering wheel. He pouts, not matching the way his eyes crinkle together.
"We have to choose something, I ain't sitting in a silent car for the rest of the trip." Kyle pipes up once again, and they all murmur in agreement.
"Make a playlist, wouldn't that work better?"
Everyone turns to look at Johnny as he suggests this. He backs down slightly, feeling overwhelmed and targeted. "What? Would that not work?"
"Da! That can work, here, let me!" Nikolai agrees, his hands already at his phone and opening a music app. "Alright, pick a song or two everyone!"
They all add in a few song choices of their own, but this doesn't stop the complaining from each of them. Johnny whines and huffs when John's songs come on, repeating that they were just 'divorce dad' music and that they should skip his songs. Kyle and Johnny dance around in their seats together as one of their songs come on, singing loudly and making the rest of them regret their decision.
The arguments soon die down, and slowly they all start to enjoy each others music, talking and laughing, teasing each other for their song choices. They soon reach the destination, all of them worn out just from the car trip.
"Bloody hell… who knew sitting in a car could take so much out of you?" Johnny huffs, stretching as he climbs out of the car along with the rest of them.
John grunts and groans as he pulls himself out of the car seat, letting out a long groan as he cracks his back. "Fucking hell… I'm not driving home."
As the rest of them follow suit, all complaining and groaning, Kyle then pipes up with a grin. "We should listen to more music in the hotel room, what do you think?"
He laughs as they all disagree, some being quite stern about it.
"Oh well… worth a try."
