Chapter Text
Today, two years ago, was when you left your life to live with Mychael. At first, the transition from your old life to your new one was hard. Leaving behind your friends, your family, the people you knew was really tough. But now, you know you made the right choice. Although, at the time you remember your head feeling a little fuzzy before you finally made said choice. In fact...now that you think about it, you don't remember exactly why that happened. Around that time, it was a frequent occurrence, a static buzzing in your head before making up your mind on something, your vision blurring slightly and your mind suddenly fogging up. It was definitely strange, but luckily, it doesn't happen anymore. Logically, it must've just been the stress of recently losing your cat.
Nowadays, you spend your life with Mychael by your side, and you couldn't be happier! As of currently, his head was resting on your lap as you ran your fingers through his hair, a faint purring coming from him. It was moments like these that you treasured the most, bonding simply through touch and being together. As you looked down at him, you glanced at the makeshift ring on your finger. It was a simple ring, made from twine with a tiny rhinestone in the middle. Mychael had eagerly made a matching pair for the two of you after you explained the concept of marriage. You weren't truly married, but you didn't bother telling him that, it's the thought that counts anyways.
You smiled as you looked down at him, fond of the memory of your "marriage".
"Mychael?" You called out to him, leaning down a little.
"Yes, Firefly? What do you need?" He peered up at you, curious as to why you interrupted the silence.
"I love you." You grinned, gently kissing his forehead. In response, his face immediately flushed blue out of embarrassment.
"Stop.." He mumbled, covering his face with his hands. You loved showering Mychael with affection and you knew that sometimes, he could be very insecure with his appearance. So, in order to solve this problem, all you had to do was constantly praise him! That way, he'd feel a little better about himself, two birds with one stone!
"Why? You know it's the truth. I love you, I love your gorgeous eyes, your soft hair, your cute little horns...I love every part of you, Mychael." You gently pulled his hands away, kissing his face all over. He began to laugh, giggling and squirming to escape your kisses. You continued anyways, teasing him and now laughing too.
"Stop! Stop it!" Mychael was smiling as he finally pulled away from you. It took a moment for the both of you to settle down, now you were both just sitting across from each other, staying in a comfortable silence. For a few moments, nothing was said between the two of you until Mychael spoke up.
"Firefly? Thank you...for everything...I love having this time with you, it means the world to me..." He scooted closer, cupping your face with his hands. "Don't ever leave me, promise?" Mychael gazed into your eyes, waiting for you to say something.
"I promise." You whispered, pulling him into a tight hug.
