‘Adamai’
'Where are you, brother?’
It had already been four months since Ogerest’s Chaos, and after a rest in the Sadida Kingdom, Yugo and Ruel had returned to Emelka.
Adamai was nowhere to be found.
At first, Yugo thought that the Dragon would return eventually. That’s what everyone thought, anyway. But the Eliatrope gave up the second month. His brother wasn’t coming back.
So Yugo set off to search for his brother. Ruel offered him his help, but the Eliatrope declined, claiming that he needed time to think.
Now, two months later, Yugo asked himself if that wasn’t a mistake. Now, he felt alone, more alone than he had ever felt. Maybe because of the fact that his brother, his twin, had left him. Maybe if an Eliatrope was abandoned by his Dragon brother, he too fell into depression.
He had looked everywhere he could think of. And beyond that. Brakmar, Bonta, Suvokia, Panadalucia, you name it. It seemed that Adamai had left the World of Twelve. But that was impossible. He can’t just disappear, can he?
In the end, Yugo decided that maybe the Dragon wasn’t in the same dimension as him.
He had discovered the existence of other dimensions apart from this one through his dad’s stories. Alibert would tell him amazing legends about the god’s different dimensions, and he, fascinated, would only dream of going there someday.
When Ogerest’s Chaos happened, Yugo finally had the chance to do so. With Joris, Kerub and Atcham, he travelled to the ecaflip dimension, where he fought Ush, and ecaflip demigod of some kind of organization, the same organization that stole the six Eliatrope Dofus, and the same organization that made Adamai leave.
‘No’, Yugo made himself think, ‘It wasn’t the organization.’
Deep down, the Eliatrope knew that it was him, and only him, that was responsible for his brother’s departure.
Now, having accepted that Adamai wasn’t in the World of Twelve, at least not the World of Twelve that he knew, Yugo started exploring other dimensions,
At first, it was difficult. To travel from one dimension to another you needed keys. For example, when he went to the ecaflip dimension, Kerub used his key. In the ecaflip dimension, only the 22 ecaflip demigods, sons of the Ecaflip god, had the key.
‘It is said that the height of the dimension matched the Ecaflip god’s love for his sons.’
Yugo travelled around the world, searching for keys, and exploring dimensions. But he reached the limits.
There are Divine Dimensions, belonging to the twelve gods of the World of Twelve. These are the ones we have keys for. There were other dimensions apart, of course, but no keys existed.
So Yugo started tinkering with his portals.
He only knew to open portals to places that he saw, never too far. But now, he tried to open portals to places he couldn’t see. He imagined the places, he pictured them in his mind, and motioned his hand in a circle, then made the attempt to throw the portal.
He soon figured out that this wouldn’t work, and stopped trying to throw the portal. He remembered when he used the six Eliatrope Dofus, to send part of mont Zinit into the Shustuf Crust. He didn’t throw a portal. He just imagined the place, and the portal appeared there. So Yugo came to the conclusion that it didn’t have to do with his technique, but rather his capabilities and power.
So he practiced, and tried putting more Wakfu into his portals. One day, he was able to open a portal to a place, without seeing it. It wasn’t that far away, but this gave Yugo hope, so he practiced more and more. What he wasn’t capable of doing is opening portals to places that he had never been to, so interdimensional travel was impossible.
He seemed to have reached a dead end.
Until he made it to the Sadida Kingdom. There, he started searching for Adamai. Amalia did everything she could to help Yugo, but the Eliatrope already knew that he wasn’t going to find Adamai there. Then, Amalia offered to search for the Dragon with the help of the Tree of Life. Yugo, more out of curiosity than anything else, agreed to do it.
They went to the Tree of Life, and Amalia attempted to connect herself to the Tree of Life. The roots of the Tree of Life extended around the whole world. Amalia said that they would ask the tree to let them see through its eyes.
As expected, Adamai was nowhere to be found, and Amalia gave up three hours later. When she left, the Tree of Life seemed to power down a little, but Yugo didn’t lose his concentration, implying that he still needed the tree’s help. And his petition was to see the dimensions.
The Tree of Life’s roots not only extended themselves across the entire World of Twelve, but also all the different dimensions that made up the Krozmos. The Tree of Life showed Yugo all the dimensions.
Soon Yugo understood that he didn’t have nearly enough power to open a portal into another dimension. He also understood that the Tree of Life didn’t show him all the dimensions. Some dimensions were meant to be kept a secret.
While he was in the Sadida Kingdom, he met Master Joris. He had arrived to talk about politics with King Oakheart, as the ambassador of the King of Bonta. As both of them didn’t have much to do in the Sadida Kingdom, they ended up having regular conversations.
‘As you know, Yugo, there are six primordial Dofus. Emerald, Crimson, Turquoise, Ivory, Ebony and Ochre.Ogerest was their guardian until not long ago.’
‘When I was little, I lived in Astrub with Kerub. Just before I was born, there was a big war between Bonta and Brakmar. Julith, in possession of one of the Ebony Dofus, tried to destroy Bonta, and Jahash Jurgen, the King of Bonta, and the most powerful of the Huppermages, fought her, using the Ivory Dofus. Against all odds, they fell in love, and got married. Then, someone reactivated the Ebony Dofus, and it almost destroyed Bonta. Julith rushed to stop it, but the citizens of Bonta thought that it was her who activated it, and almost killed her. Jahash sacrificed himself to stop the Ebony Dofus, and peace was restored. This all happened a short time after I was born.’
‘When I was ten, Julith reappeared, and stole the Ebony Dofus. Bakara, Jahash’s sister, warned Kerub. But me, as an adventurous kid I was, escaped for a while. When I came back to my house, Julith appeared, and Kerub and Bakara fought her. They lost, and Kerub died in that battle, having barely enough time to send us into the ecaflip dimension. During this fight, it was revealed that I was Grougalorasalaar’s host. I had his soul inside me, and the Ebony Dofus (his Dofus) wouldn’t work properly because of that. Also, during that fight, my lifelong friend Lilotte, was captured by Julith. I also discovered that I was the son of Julith and Jahash. It was a lot to take in.’
‘In the ecaflip dimension, Bakara, Khan Karkass (yes, the famous gabowler) and I were attacked by Atcham, Kerub’s brother, and we found the Ivory Dofus. After that, we made it back to Bonta, where Bakara got angry and fought Julith. During this fight, it was revealed that it was Julith’s intention to revive Jahash, my father, with the help of the Ebony Dofus. Bakara was enraged, and accidentally killed Atcham in the process. Then, I left with Julith, abandoning my friends.’
‘I was a kid, and it was a lot. Though I still feel guilty. When I figured out that Julith would have to kill a thousand people to revive my father, I immediately started trying to stop the process. In the end, Julith understood that Jahash didn’t want to be revived at the cost of the lives of the citizens of Bonta, and she sacrificed herself, crashing The Ivory Dofus against the Ebony Dofus.’
‘After this, I was entrusted to take care of Grougalorasalaar and his Dofus. It is the reason for my black colour.’
This story opened doors to Yugo. Maybe he would be able to find the Dofus, and use them to open a portal into another dimension.
He travelled again around the world, gathering information. He remembered that Ogerest had entrusted each Dragon with their respective Dofus.
So all he needed to do was find the Dragons.
He went from village to village, asking about Dragons. Until the time that, in one village, they claimed that in a near mountain, a Dragon was hibernating.
And that is what led the Eliatrope where he was now.
