Work Text:
“Hey Tim, what are you and Lucy doing tonight?” Angela stops him as they’re both walking in the bullpen getting their days started.
“Umm,” he stops and thinks for a minute. “Nothing that I know of, why?”
“Come on a date with Wesley and I. We have two extra tickets to see Alex Warren. We can all go to dinner first.”
“Now why would we do that?” He’s pretty sure he’s heard Lucy mention him before, maybe has even heard some of his songs but really doesn’t have any interest in going to a concert full of young, loud girls.
Shaking her head, “Because he’s amazing. Just ask Lucy,” her eyes flicker over to someone walking up to Tim and he turns slightly to see her.
“Ask me what?” She asks cheerfully, glaring right at him.
“I guess we got invited to a concert tonight with Angela and Wes. But we don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”
“Wait a minute,” she stops him before turning to Angela. “Who is it?”
“Alex Warren,” is all she can get out before Lucy is practically jumping up and down with excitement.
“Oh my gosh I love him! Tim, we have to go!” She grabs his hands, giving him that look he can never say no to.
“Fine.” She groans and it’s accompanied by an eye roll.
“Timothy, you are so whipped,” Angela chuckles before pulling out her phone. “Okay, sending you the details now.”
After she walks away, Lucy turns to Tim who doesn’t look excited in the slightest. “Oh come on babe, we’re going to have so much fun,” she nudges his shoulder playfully.
“Yeah, sure,” he mumbles.
Thinking for a second, she looks up at him with a knowing smirk on her face, “I’ll owe you.”
Just like she thought, that’s all it takes for his mood to change. Suddenly he too is excited about this. “Well when you put it like that, I can’t wait.” He has to remind himself they’re at work and has to keep his hands to himself.

The concert was at The Forum and they were all riding together to make the parking situation less complicated.
“Babe, do I look okay?” Lucy comes out of their bedroom wearing a pair of jeans that showcased her body in all the ways that made him go crazy and a low-cut floral printed shirt. He had to stop himself from picking her up and carrying her right back into their bedroom.
“Okay? You look incredible.” He walks up to her, pulling her into him by her waist and wrapping his arms around her. Cupping her cheeks with his hands, he pulls her in for a kiss. Before they know it, they get lost in each other and almost miss his phone ringing on the coffee table.
Groaning as they let go of each other, he picks up his phone to see three missed texts and one missed call from Angela. One look outside and he realizes they were out there waiting for them.
“We’re finishing this later,” he whispers against her lips with a wink before giving her another kiss.
Once outside, after making sure Kojo was set and the security alarm was set, she grabbed his hand as they walked the short distance to the street to hop in their friend’s waiting car.
“Took you two long enough,” Angela smirks from the front seat looking back at them.
“Yeah, yeah,” is all Tim says while Lucy’s cheeks turn a blush pink. They get situated in the back seat, reaching for each other’s hands after they’re buckled in.
Dinner was at a sports bar near the venue. The four sat at a rounded table sharing appetizers and drinks.
“How are Jack and Emmy doing?” Lucy covers her mouth as she turns to the married couple.
“Getting bigger and bigger everyday, it’s crazy.” Wesley shakes his head.
“So, how are things going with you two?” Of course Angela would be the one to poke and prod. Tim just sends her a quick glare before taking a swig of his beer.
“Really good. Finally got all my stuff moved in, just making sure we do it right this time.” She smiles and reaches over to grab Tim’s hand resting on the table, giving it a squeeze. He thanks his lucky stars every day that she gave him another chance.
Once dinner was done, they made the short walk to the venue. It was just as Tim expected it to be. A lot of young, very loud girls. He groans as he walks alongside Lucy into the venue.
“Oh come on, don’t make me break out the hashtag grumpy cop, again.” She jokes while playfully shoving his arm. “It’ll be fun!”
“Yeah, a blast,” he mumbles under his breath. She just rolls her eyes and starts talking to Angela about all the cute little girls with their posters and cute little outfits.

The show was well underway and Lucy, Angela and Wesley were all jamming out and singing along. Tim would be lying if he said he wasn’t actually enjoying it, too. For one of his songs, ‘Burning Down’, he even brought out Joe Jonas that got Lucy even more excited. As much as this wasn’t his scene, he enjoyed seeing Lucy so happy.
It was towards the end when he started playing ‘Ordinary’, a song Tim definitely has heard lots of times on the radio. Whenever it would play as he was driving with Lucy in the passenger seat, he’d catch her just staring at him with the sweetest smile.
Angela and Wes were in their own little zone, arms around each other singing to each other. Tim pulled Lucy closer to him, so close that she was now standing in front of him. Wrapping his arms around her mid section as she leaned back into him, he lowered his lips, gently pressing them to her neck.
“I love you, more than you’ll ever know,” he whispers against her ear while they start swaying to the music.
“I love you more,” she smiles as she turns her head slightly to kiss his jaw.
He just shakes his head but holds her closer, swaying together as they sing along.
Love, I take one look at you
You’re taking me out of the ordinary
I want you laying me down till we’re dead and buried
“See? That wasn’t so bad.” She nudges his shoulder as they’re walking back to the car once it’s over.
“Only because you were there,” he says straightforward, pulling her into his side as they walk together. “Remember you owe me,” he smirks.
“Hm,” she mutters. “I guess you were a good boy.”
“You know we can hear you! You aren’t as quiet as you think!” Angela looks back at them, just a few steps ahead.
Stopping in her tracks, which also gets him to stop, she leans up to whisper in his ear. “Don’t worry, I pay my debt.” She winks before starting to walk again, pulling him along with her.
