What If It Went Right, but Also Wrong

Summary:

This is just double life but how I think it would have gone if Scott gave Pearl another chance.

Notes:

Just want to say that this is my first fic so mind the scuff of the writing.

Chapter Text

Day 1

She was here again, and almost immediately she realized what the game was this time. She never thought she would be here again… much less bound with another person. This would make it harder, but hey at least she would have a permanent partner. She didn’t know who her partner was yet, but she had to guess that it was a good person. Seeing as she had taken minimal damage so far. Well, if she had such an excellent partner, then that would mean that they most likely would not care if she went with Martyn to the nether for supplies. Hey, they might even be happy for her to have gotten them some items. Oh, how wrong she was. She and Martyn thought that not everyone would have their partners yet, so they set to make a game show for the remaining people left. Then the two people without their partners came: Scott and Cleo. “Great,” she thought, both people she was friends with and were her partners in some of the other games. Once the rules of the game show were read and explained, everyone got into their place next to the animatronic goat heads, preparing to get punched. That is when Scott said, “I already know who my partner is and so does Cleo, we have chosen to be our own partners! We waited for you and looked far and wide for you and yet you never looked for us, so we have chosen to be our own soulmates!” She is shocked, one of those two are your partners, and now they are choosing to not be with you? Is this even allowed? Scott then climbs up onto one of the makeshift walls of the game show, and says, “Just because I want to know who for sure my partner is, I will take a handful of fall damage just to see.” He falls and once he hits the ground, she feels a sharp pain in her legs. Scott, Scott is her partner. How could he just leave her? For Cleo? She knew it made sense they would do great together, and. “You know what, “Cleo says, “maybe we judged them too quickly. Let’s give them a second chance. We could be a team of four.” She saw Scott’s face go from the frustration of be left to contemplating. “Ok,” he says, “one second chance. Pearl, I have a base all ready started. Would you like me to show it to you?” She smiles because she gets to stay with her soul mate. She knows that she would have gone mad if he had chosen to leave. She then started to follow Scott to his base. Scott’s house at this point was only a tiny house on the top of a ridge, and she saw Cleo on the other side. “The bridge isn’t pretty yet, and neither is my house. I think I’m going to tear it down tomorrow and try again. Do you want to help,” Scott said, scaring her. She smiled and nodded, thankful for the invitation. Scott smiled and said, “Great! Now let’s craft you a bed… it’s getting late. That’s when she noticed that the sky had turned into vibrant shades of red, pink, orange, and yellow that normally come with the sunset. “Of course, “ She said, “I guess that is time for that.” With that the pair went into the house, made a bed for her, and went to bed for the night.
