Work Text:
Fang wouldn’t call himself a jealous person.
He loved Tan, and Tan loved him, he knew that. He trusted Tan more than he had ever trusted anyone before. It didn’t matter how many men or women were interested in his boyfriend, how many people asked for his Line or made flirty comments – Tan was his.
Tan was a doting boyfriend, always making his love known loudly and for everyone to hear – much to Fang’s annoyance (not really). What did he have to worry about?
Fang wouldn’t call himself a jealous person. – but that didn’t mean he wasn’t.
In his defence, it wasn’t entirely his fault – or Tan’s fault, for that matter. (Though, to be fair, it’s hard for Fang to find any faults in Tan.) It was that stupid engineering senior and his stupid smile and his stupid dimples and his stupid muscles and the way every other engineering student fawned over him like he was a god.
Tan included, unfortunately.
“I heard you were the first in your year group to make tops scores in all your classes!” As usual, Fang heard Tan before he saw him, rounding the corner as he walked towards the heart of the engineering facility, a bag with Tan’s favourite snacks inside held in his hand.
He scrunched his brows in confusion when he caught sight of his boyfriend talking animatedly to (at) a senior. Fang had never seen this guy before, but the way his hands were perched on his hips cockily already rubbed him the wrong way.
There was a feeling he couldn’t quite place bubbling in his stomach – anger or annoyance, but different, not towards Tan, towards that senior…
And the way he was looking at Tan.
“that’s true.” The man chuckled – and whose voice is even that deep, really? “I’d be happy to help tutor you sometime, Nong.”
Fang sped up his steps a little bit as he watched this random man lift his hand, just to place it gently on his Tan’s shoulder, his thumb rubbing against the fabric of Tan’s engineering jacket.
“Really Phi?” Tan sounded way too excited, he was so naïve, eyes wide and smile big, not able to see how this guy was looking at him. “That would be-“
“Tan.” Fang’s voice seemed to break whatever fanboy headspace Tan was in, the younger immediately turning his head towards his boyfriend with a bright smile that Fang easily reciprocated. “I was looking for you, have you eaten Teerak?”
Maybe – just maybe – he deliberately avoided the other man, keeping his eyes on Tan – not that they were ever anywhere else, really. And maybe – just maybe – he reached out and gently guided Tan’s hand to its usual place on his arm, where it belonged.
And maybe it was a little more PDA then Fang was known for, and maybe those sweet moments where Fang calls him ‘teerak’ and acts as obsessed with him as he is tend to be just between them, but something about this guy made Fang want to make sure he was very, very, aware of Tan’s relationship status.
“oh! Teerak!” Tan grinned, instinctively moving closer to Fang, properly wrapping his hands around Fang’s arm, clinging onto him like it was instinct, Fang couldn’t help smile a little. “I didn’t realise you were coming today so I already ate, but I will still eat with you if you want!”
The little pout on his lips had Fang sighing, a soft smile on his lips, it was hard to feel any negative emotions around Tan, but-
“Sorry, I took him for lunch earlier.” Fang swore he felt the other man’s voice in his chest, like a little bug crawling up his ribcage, his eye twitched. The man’s tone was apologetic, but his face was not. “Gotta take care of my nongs.”
Fang’s eyebrow shot up, his composure falling slightly, and he was suddenly overwhelmed with the need to say something very unpleasant to this man -
“Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce you.” Tan interrupted Fang’s near destruction of his own reputation with a smile, gesturing towards the other man. “Fang, this is P’Lay, he’s a senior who has been helping us with our courses lately, he’s been so helpful! And P’Lay, this is Fang, my boyfriend.”
“Nice to meet you,” Fang spoke shortly, a fake smile plastered on his face. He moved one of his hands from where his arms were crossed and rested it on top of Tan’s. Tan didn’t seem to notice. “Just came to give him some snacks for class.”
“Ooooi you’re so cute.” Tan grinned, reaching up to pinch Fang’s cheek. Fang suppressed the cringe he would usually display in favour of biting his tongue. “Treating me so well teerak.”
“Ah yes, I can see how sweet you are.” Lay smiled, but there was a look behind his eyes Fang didn’t like. “I just hope he isn’t too full from our lunch, we had a lot of Korean barbeque from that new place just off campus.”
Yeah, Fang knew the place. He had been planning on taking Tan there, an expensive KBBQ place he knew Tan would whine about the price of, but inevitably accept. He felt his grip tighten on Tan slightly again, his ears heating up.
“Not sure I know the one you’re talking about.” Fang lied, trying to keep the phony smile on his face. “We usually go out for lunch, not to University spots.”
“It was really yummy actually.” Tan smiled in response, big eyes meeting Fang’s once again. “We should go there together teerak.”
Fang’s own expression softened a bit, and he sighed. “mmm, if that’s what you want.”
Tan grinned, leaning into his boyfriend’s side and transferring the bag of snacks into his own hand- before suddenly perking up. “Wait, don’t you have class right now?”
Fang cursed internally, glancing down at his watch, he may have been a little preoccupied trying to rescue his boyfriend from the grasp of this overeager senior and completely forgotten this was supposed to be a fast trip.
“I do.” Fang nodded, before moving a little closer to Tan, “I’ll see you tonight?”
“of course.” Tan replied easily.
“Good.” And then – surprising himself as well, Fang leaned down and pressed a very quick kiss to Tan’s cheek, before turning and walking away.
He could hear Tan squealing behind him, but he ignored it, ears going a little red. What had even gotten into him?
_________
The next morning, Fang was contemplating.
He was sitting on his couch in his school uniform; arms crossed and face concentrated as he watched Tan pull his lunch out of the fridge and pack it in his university bag.
“I’ll be home a little late tonight, teerak,” the younger man spoke, as he zipped his bag up. “P’Lay is teaching me how to do this particular model for class, so don’t worry about where I am.”
Fang’s gaze hardened a little bit, imagining all the flirting that guy was going to try to do to his boyfriend that afternoon. Yesterday it was a hand on his shoulder—what’s next? A hand on his leg? A hand on his neck?
“Mmm.” He nodded, trying to seem unaffected. “Don’t be too long.”
“Oii, you love me so much.” Tan grinned, walking over and standing directly in front of Fang, placing a hand on his cheek. “My teerak is so cute.”
Fang only hummed in response, grabbing Tan’s hands and squeezing them lightly, before pulling his boyfriend down onto his lap.
“Teerak, you’re too cute today.” Tan giggled, arms falling over Fang’s shoulders, familiar with the position. “Should I skip class?”
“Your grades will suffer.” Fang murmured, hands resting on Tan’s waist now, their faces inches apart. “You have to go.”
“Can I have some motivation at least?” Tan asked, hopeful, his eyes on Fang’s lips, and the older huffed a laugh at his boyfriend, to which Tan pouted, “Please, teerak, I’ll miss you so much today.”
“You’re so dramatic.” Fang laughed. He raised his eyebrows, amused. “What kind of motivation?”
“Hmmm.” Tan pressed a finger to his lips, as if in deep thought, before offering Fang what could only be called a wicked grin. “How abouuutt… a kiss?”
“A kiss?” Fang raised an eyebrow, his eyes darting down to Tan’s lips as his tongue ran over them. He was grinning—his mind definitely no longer on that senior. “Just one?”
“Just one.” Tan confirmed, winking. “I need to charge for the day, otherwise I’ll die.”
“I’ll plan you a nice funeral.” Fang smiled back, but – despite his words – leaned forward to kiss the small pout on his boyfriend’s mouth. “There you go.”
“Ohoo, teerak.” Tan whined, but there was mischief in his eyes. He lightly smacked Fang’s shoulder. “That wasn’t even a kiss.”
“I think it was.” Fang replied, an eyebrow raised, one of his hands coming to run gently through Tan’s hair.
“Barely,” the younger prompted, a bright smile on his face, and he leaned in closer. “That only gave me fifteen minutes. I have to survive the whole day.”
Fang huffed, but he wasn’t one to ever really deny Tan - especially not when they were alone - so he leaned up again, meeting Tan in the middle and capturing his lips with his own.
It was more this time. Fang let his eyes slip shut and his mouth move against his boyfriend’s, hands coming to properly wrap around Tan and pull him impossibly closer.
Tan let out a little sigh, his hands coming up to tangle in the hairs at the back of Fang’s neck, kissing him deeply, his lips catching on Fang’s, tongue licking along the seam of his lips.
When Tan’s hands came up to grasp Fang’s hair, the older moved down to a place he was very familiar with - Tan’s neck.
“Teerak.” Tan sighed, never the one to be quiet if his mouth was free. He tilted his head while Fang pressed open-mouth kisses to the side of his neck, wet and warm against his skin. Fang could feel it heating up.
“Mhm?” the older asked gently, sucking on the skin, tongue coming out to soothe over it afterward. His hand beginning its ascent up the back of Tan’s shirt, caressing the bare skin of his back.
Tan didn’t answer, shifting on Fang’s lap slightly.
As Fang continued to kiss down Tan’s neck, he couldn’t help but smile to himself. Tan was his. Nobody else got to see him like this - especially not stupid ‘P’Lay.’
Sometimes he wished he was more confident with himself - like Tan. No shame showing off their relationship at all, ready to grab Fang’s hand or kiss him in front of a crowd. Fang just wasn’t like that, but he wished he was now. Wished he could show somehow that Tan was his boyfriend. Nobody else’s.
It was Tan gasping lightly that snapped him out of his thoughts, and when he pulled away he was met - quite obviously - with the purple marks he had apparently been littering all over his boyfriend’s neck.
His instinct to apologise, to be embarrassed for leaving obvious marks on Tan’s neck - something quite out of the ordinary for him - was drowned out by something he hadn’t really felt before.
Some sort of smugness - that’ll show him.
Gently, he kissed back up Tan’s neck, toward his mouth, Tan leaning down to meet him, their lips pressing together once again - softer this time, and for less time.
“You have class.” Fang mumbled against Tan’s lips, his hand coming back out from under Tan’s shirt where it had settled.
Tan didn’t respond, just hummed, arms wrapping further around Fang and pulling him closer, chasing his lips.
“Tan.” Fang mumbled again, this time pulling away, pressing a hand to Tan’s chest when he tried to lean in again. He was smirking slightly. “That was one kiss.”
Once Tan seemed to realise that Fang was serious, his eyes widened, and he guffawed, “Teerak, are you serious right now?”
“You should be plenty charged for the day.” Fang smiled, easily sliding Tan off his lap and onto the couch next to him. “I’ve got to go as well. I have a group meeting.”
“Teerak, you are such a tease.” Tan reached his hands back out toward Fang. He was smirking slightly. “Don’t you wanna…”
“Wanna what?” Fang asked, amusement evident in his voice, and Tan frowned, hands dropping back to his sides. “You said you needed motivation. I gave you motivation.”
“That was motivation for something else.” Tan grumbled, finally standing up from the couch. He glared at Fang, but there was no malice behind his eyes. “You’re lucky you’re so cute, teerak.”
“Or else?” Fang stood as well, grabbing his own bag from next to the couch and holding out one hand. “You’d be angry?”
“Yes.” Tan huffed, but he still interlaced his fingers with Fang’s, a small smile gracing his lips at Fang’s actions. “I’d be very, very angry.”
“I’m terrified.” Fang laughed, leading them toward the door. “I’ll make it up to you if you don’t fail your class.”
At that, Tan perked right up, swinging their interlaced hands. “Ohh, my teerak is the sweetest.”
Fang just hummed, his eyes locked on the purple and red splotches very visible from under the collar of Tan’s engineering jacket. His heart did a funny little flip.
“Mhm.”
___________
Phum and Peem were already at the cafeteria when Fang arrived later that day. He was already exhausted, and it was barely lunch time.
The two younger boys were seemingly bickering – Phum smirking and definitely making some irritating comment, and Peem scoffing in response. their hands were clasped together on the table.
“Already so open in public.” Fang hummed as he swung his legs over the bench, placing his plate on the table in front of him. “Shameless.”
“and when was the last time you were alone?” Phum snarked back, hand gripping Peem’s tighter. “Rarely see you without Tan nowadays.”
“Not my fault he’s so clingy.” Fang shrugged, crossing his arms, the tips of his ears went a little pink. He didn’t say that he couldn’t answer the question – he wasn’t sure he had spent a night without Tan since they got together.
“You should be an actor Phi.” Peem piped up, smirking as well – and maybe Fang shouldn’t have supported these two. “Tan tells us all about how you act when you’re alone.”
Fang leaned back a little, looking away. “Well, he’s a liar.”
“Sure.” Phum laughed, picking up a meatball off his plate and placing it on Peem’s next to him, Fang resisted rolling his eyes. “Where is he anyway? Coming for lunch?”
“Should be soon.” Peem answered for Fang. “He texted me about five minutes ago.”
Phum clutched his chest; “texting other guys?”
Peem sent him an unimpressed look.
“When Tan gets here.” Fang spoke, trying not to sound too suspicious. “don’t say anything.”
The two boys raised their eyebrows.
“Anything about what?” Phum asked, grinning.
“Just anything in general.” Fang replied with a glare, turning his head to avoid his brother and his brother’s boyfriend’s eyes. “Just don’t.”
Peem opened his mouth to say something, but he was interrupted by the tell-tale sign of Tan’s approach.
“TEERAK!” the three turned their heads in Tan’s direction, watching in mild amusement as he ran, full speed- towards then, bag clutched in his hand, a huge grin on his face.
“you’re so loud.” Fang huffed, but his eyes were on Tan as he sat down. “the whole university knows you’re coming.”
“Good, they should.” Tan grinned, swinging an arm over Fang’s shoulders. “And they should all know how passionate I am about you, teerak.”
“Everybody knows already.” Peem scoffed, rolling his eyes. “You announce it every time you enter a room; “Fang’s boyfriend is here!” the teachers don’t even know your real name.”
“they don’t need to, it’s not as important.” Tan stuck his tongue out at Peem, stretching his neck just so that his collar slipped down, and –
“Jesus christ.” Peem’s eyes widened. “What happened to your-“
“Do you have class soon?” Fang interrupted, sending a pointed look to Peem, who was still gaping. Phum had a very disgusted look on his face.
“hm?” Tan hummed, looking back towards fang. “Oh! Yes! I actually just came by to tell you I missed you.”
“You saw me this morning.” Fang raised an eyebrow at him, a small smile on his lips. “And all day yesterday.”
“its been so long since the morning though.” Tan pouted, poking Fang’s cheek slightly, the older winced. “don’t you miss me every second I’m gone teerak?”
“Gross.” Phum gagged, but his hand was still clutching Peem’s on the table, stroking the back of his knuckles. “if the state of you wasn’t enough, the minute you open your mouth I want to puke.”
“The state of me? You mean the look of a man in love?” Tan grinned back, not perturbed. “don’t be jealous just because your boyfriend doesn’t like you.”
“Your boyfriend looks like he wants to smother you half the time!” Phum argued.
“You don’t know him like I do.” Tan hummed, wrapping both arms around Fang shoulders and tugging him close. “He is so in love with me, right teerak?”
Fang sighed, nodding; “mhm.”
“Told you.” Tan bragged, sticking his tongue out again.
“Peem loves me too.” Phum grumbled, and Peem side-eyed him, spooning some rice into his mouth.
“Nobody can have what me and my Fang have.” Tan smiled, pulling away from Fang slightly, arm staying firmly around his shoulders. “we are unbeatable, unbreakable, the cutest couplet to ever –“
“Tan.” Fang interrupted, his voice was stern, but he was smiling. “Class?”
“oh, shit right.” The younger man gasped dramatically, standing up and swinging his bag over his shoulder. “I better go, bye guys – bye bye teerak, see you later.”
And with that he pressed an obnoxiously loud kiss to Fang’s cheek – and skipped away.
Once he was fully out of ear shot, Peem spoke up.
“Why did you maul him?” he asked, voice definitely a little too loud. “And is he not like – aware??”
“None of your business.” Fang mumbled, ears red.
“You subjected us to that.” Phum pointed out, leaning forward with a smirk, “I think it is.”
“Shut up.” the oldest replied, arms crossed defensively over his chest, mostly because he didn’t really know what to say.
“I’ve seen you scold Tan for trying to kiss you in public.” Phum continued, leaning in close. “And you’ve just given the entire university a sneak peek into your sex lives.”
“don’t talk about my sex life.” Fang groaned, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
Peem tilted his head at the older boy, his eyes widening slightly in what Fang was afraid was realisation. A smirk grew over his face.
“Wait a second.” He leaned forward, grinning; “doesn’t Tan have that meeting with the senior today – P’Lay, I think his name is?”
Fang’s ears felt hot, but even the name had anger bubbling in his stomach. “I don’t know who that is.”
“Impossible, Tan has been talking about him non-stop since he offered to tutor him.” Peem’s eyes were smug. “he’s been talking about him too much, really.”
Phum gasped, looking at his brother; “is that was this is? Are you… jealous?”
“I’m not jealous.” Fang said flatly, not helping his case in the slightest.
“You totally are!” Phum perked up, like he was excited. “Tan starts talking about this new hot senior, and you mark him like he’s your property!”
“I didn’t mark him like he’s my property!” Fang hissed, trying to shrink in on himself. “and P’Lay isn’t hot.”
“I thought you didn’t know who he was.” Peem sing-songed, ignoring the way Fang glared at him – he was too comfortable.
“Wow I haven’t seen you be jealous before.” Phum hummed, smirking as well. “This is new for you – are you going to pee on him next?”
“Shut up Phum.” Fang’s eyes narrowed at his brother, who just smiled back. “I’m not jealous, Tan would never do anything.”
Even the words coming from his mouth felt wrong though. Jealousy wasn’t something was familiar with, especially not with Tan. He didn’t really understand why he was feeling this way, there was just something about that ‘Lay’ guy, the way he acted with Tan that made him… annoyed.
“of course, Tan wouldn’t.” Phum spoke, like it was obvious – which, it was. “But you’re allowed to be annoyed at P’Lay about the way he acts with Tan – especially if its clear he’s interested, and he knows Tan has a boyfriend.”
“Yeah, Phum knows all about jealousy.” Peem grinned, giving his boyfriend a look. Phum looked down like a kicked puppy. “People like P’Lay are annoying, but as long as you’re not mad at Tan about it, you’re allowed to be jealous.”
“Its hard to be mad at Tan for anything.” Fang sighed, a small smile gracing his lips at the thought of his boyfriend. “It’s just that guy I – I don’t like the way he… interacts with tan.”
“What? Buying him lunch, offering to tutor him for free, touching him?” Peem grinned.
“Exactly.”
“You are so jealous.” The younger laughed, meeting Fangs unimpressed look. “I’m sorry its just – it’s a bit funny, you act like he makes your life harder most of the time, then P’Lay comes into the picture and you leave like forty hickeys on his neck.”
“It wasn’t forty.” Fang grumbled. “And it wasn’t – I wasn’t… it was an accident.”
“You blacked out and attacked him?” Phum laughed. “I didn’t realise my brother was an animal.”
“Hey, you threw a tantrum because Kluen talked to me.” Peem pointed at Phum accusatorily, and the older huffed. “Maybe it runs in the family.”
Fang rolled his eyes; “don’t compare me to him.”
“hey!”
“For what it’s worth though, I get it.” Peem continued, placing a placating hand on Phum’s shoulder to stop him from pouting. “The guy is clearly pushing it, and Tan is kind of oblivious, he probably doesn’t know – and he definitely wouldn’t play into it on purpose.”
“I know.” Fang sighed.
“Still, that doesn’t mean you have to mark your territory the minute someone starts sniffing around.” The younger continued, too wise. “You should talk to him about it,”
“I don’t know – sometimes a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.” Phum shrugged, a small smirk on his face now.
“You would say that, puppy Phum.” Peem grinned.
“Ok, please don’t foreplay in front of me.” Fang held his hand up. “What do you mean talk to him? Like… tell him what?”
“That you love him? Care about him? Don’t trust P’Lay? I don’t know.” Peem shrugged, attention back on Fang, but his hand obviously resting on Phum’s leg under the table. “That you want to sit with him in class and make out with him in front of his senior?”
Fang blinked; “that’s not-“
“- a bad idea.” Phum continued, looking contemplative. “Assert dominance.”
Peem smacked him.
Peem leaned forward, elbows on the table, chin in his hand. “All I’m saying is, Tan’s not gonna be mad if you admit it bothers you. He’ll probably throw a parade and start giggling about how ‘his teerak loves him soooo much.’”
“You don’t think he'll think it’s weird?”
“Please.” Peem chuckled. “Phi, the only reason I know he hasn’t realised the hickeys is because he hasn’t posted it on the group chat with a million love hearts yet.”
There was a brief pause, and then Fang let out a sigh, quieter this time; “I’ll think about talking to him.”
Peem grinned. “Good. Preferably before you end up biting someone else.”
“Yeah, you’re not allowed to go near P’Lay,” Phum added. “People already think you’re violent."
Fang shot them both a look. “You guys really deserve each other.”
“Thank you.” Phum grinned.
Peem groaned; “don’t say that.”
_____________
Fang was sitting on the couch, head tilted back, eyes drooping down, some documentary he wasn’t watching playing on the television in front of him – when the door to the apartment burst open.
“Teerak, I’m home!” Tan’s voice – as usual – rang out across the apartment, and Fang looked up just to see his boyfriend dump his bag and make a beeline for him.
“How was the rest of your day?” he asked, leaning down and pressing a kiss to Fang’s lips, a hand resting on his face.
“Mm, exhausting.” Fang hummed against his lips, smiling.
“Same.” Tan huffed dramatically, standing up properly and stretching like a cat. Fang’s eyes fell on his exposed stomach as his shirt lifted. “Uni is so hard, maybe I should just drop out and be your house husband.”
“You’d have to learn how to cook,” Fang pointed out, and Tan raised his eyebrows in offense. “And clean.”
“I’m not incapable!” Tan argued, crossing his arms over his chest. “You just do it so much better than me.”
Fang snorted. “Of course, that’s the reason.”
“It is.” Tan pressed another small kiss to his boyfriend’s lips. “And you do it ’cause you’re in love with me.”
“Mm, am I?” Fang raised an eyebrow, a smile on his lips.
“You are,” the younger confirmed, grinning now. He stood again, now pulling his engineering jacket off to throw it over a chair. “I smell like grease, I need to shower for at least twenty minutes.”
“Please be mindful of my water bill.” Fang sighed.
“Of course I will.” Tan smiled back, then a little smirk appeared on his lips. “Join me?”
“But I’m so invested in this documentary.” Fang smiled, half serious, glancing at the screen – was that a cheetah? He thought this was about penguins. “You go ahead.”
“Sure, teerak.” Tan laughed, but he winked as he rounded the corner. “I’ll leave the door open for you.”
Fang smiled to himself. It had been a long day, and he could definitely be tempted to relax in the shower, steam, warmth, Tan—
His thoughts were interrupted by a joyful screech, followed by a loud “TEERAK!” and his eyes shot open.
Shit.
The hickeys.
Before he could even stand up, Tan was whipping back around the corner, only in his shorts, shirt off and love bites very much out. Fang cringed at the sight of the purple blooming all over his neck and collarbones.
Tan was grinning. “You marked me!”
Fang blinked. “I forgot about that.”
“You forgot?!” Tan’s voice cracked. “You mauled me!”
Fang groaned, a hand covering his face. “Oh my god.”
“I thought everyone was weird today!” Tan continued, face split in half with a grin. “I kept thinking I must look really good today, because everyone is staring at me, but no! Turns out my sexy boyfriend went wild on me right before class!”
“I’m sorry.” Fang spoke, voice soft. “I got carried away and I—”
“Why are you apologising?” Tan asked, voice definitely too loud. “This is the best thing that’s happened to me all week.”
Fang frowned. “It is?”
“Yes,” Tan said immediately, dropping onto Fang’s lap, similarly to that morning. “You love me so much you couldn’t stop yourself. It’s so hot. So dramatic. I didn’t even feel it – next time you have to tell me so I can post it on my story!”
Fang looked down awkwardly. “Sorry I was a bit… embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed why?” Tan’s expression shifted to something a bit softer, a little confused. He wrapped his arms around Fang’s neck, one hand resting in his hair. “I did think it was very unlike you… is everything okay?”
“I just—” Fang took a deep breath, meeting Tan’s concerned eyes. “I think I was… jealous.”
Tan tilted his head. “Jealous? Of what?”
Fang hesitated, fingers curling slightly into the fabric of Tan’s shorts where his hands rested on his thighs.
“It was that senior,” he admitted quietly. “P’Lay.”
Tan blinked, oblivious. “P’Lay?”
“You’ve been talking about him a lot,” Fang said, looking down again. “And then I saw him yesterday, like – touching you and… I just got carried away.”
“Wait, that’s what this is about?” Tan gawked. “P’Lay?”
“He’s obviously interested in you.”
“Teerak, I literally don’t even notice other guys.” Tan smiled, moving even closer, pressing their bodies together. “I’m so obsessed with you – I don’t even remember what he looks like right now. Couldn’t tell you.”
Fang huffed a laugh, but still didn’t meet his boyfriend’s eyes.
“It’s just that…” he continued, his ears heating up. “You’re so charming, and affectionate, and I know I don’t always show how much I love you in public, and you deserve someone who does, and I get that sometimes you need more—”
“Teerak.” Tan interrupted, tone stern but smiling. “Shut up.”
Fang blinked, startled, and Tan reached up, cupping his cheeks in both hands, and grinning when Fang frowned.
“How could I ever want anyone else?” he smiled, face close, eyes flickering over Fang’s face. “You’ve literally ruined me for everyone.”
Fang couldn’t help but smile a little at that.
“I know you love me,” Tan continued. “You don’t have to shout it or show it off or—whatever. I know. You bring me snacks, you hold my hand, you don’t yell at me even when I’m being loud, and you let me lay on top of you at night.”
“I know, I just—” Fang took a breath. “Seeing that asshole touch you… it made me upset – and angry, like really angry. I wanted to punch him in the fucking face.”
“And you took it out on my poor, innocent neck.” Tan smirked, tilting his head as if to show off the bruises. “How romantic.”
“I am sorry,” Fang murmured again, leaning in to gently press a kiss to the biggest one. Tan twitched away. “Do they hurt?”
“A little.” Tan hummed, tilting his head further to give Fang more access. “But I liked it. Shows me you are just as obsessed with me as I am with you.”
“Could be more, to be honest.” Fang replied truthfully, pressing another soft kiss on the skin. “I love you so much it scares me sometimes.”
“Oi, teerak, you’re so cute.” Tan squealed lightly, hands coming to Fang’s shoulders. “And hot when you’re jealous – just, tell me next time, okay?”
“Alright.” Fang agreed, smiling. “And I’m sorry about your neck – I won’t do that again, I just… I wanted him to see.”
“Woah woah woah.” Tan pulled away, faux concern etched on his features. “I didn’t say don’t do it again. Do both. Communicate and maul me, please. I know you can multitask – I’ve seen what you can do with your mouth and hands.”
“That’s enough.” Fang huffed, cheeks warm. “You’re so much.”
“you love it.” Tan whispered, kissing the tip of Fang’s nose. “No bother denying it, you confessed all about how much you love me already, teerak.”
“Should’ve kept my mouth closed.” The older sighed, smiling. He pressed a soft kiss to Tan’s lips, humming when he kissed back. “Hey, weren’t you showering?”
Tan’s eyes sparkled as he pulled away. “Why? Wondering if the invitation is still open?”
“Maybe.”
________________
It was around two when P’Lay finally showed up for their tutoring session.
His hair was hastily thrown back into a ponytail, bag swung over his shoulder and an embarrassed grin on his face – if he was cute, Tan didn’t notice.
“Sorry I’m late,” he said, slightly out of breath and smiling as he approached the table Tan was sat at in the back corner of the library. “Got caught up in class.”
“That’s okay.” Tan smiled back, opening his notebook. “Let’s start. Fang and I have plans we can’t miss.”
“Oh right, of course. The boyfriend.” Lay did not sound impressed, and maybe it was because Fang had said something, but Tan noticed the way his eyes trailed over Tan’s neck and collar (he had chosen to wear something low today), over where he knew the slightly faded – but still very visible – marks lay. “Can’t be late for that.”
“Nope.”
Lay pulled out the chair beside Tan, but the younger stopped him with a hand on the back of it and a cheerful smile.
“Sorry, phi.” He said, patting the table. “Do you mind sitting across? Fang’s joining us in a minute and I want him to sit next to me.”
Lay blinked, hand still on the chair. “Oh, I thought it was just us?”
“He has to study too.” Tan shrugged, flipping open his pencil case. “He’ll be quiet, I told him he could join us.”
Lay hesitated for a split second, then nodded slowly, as if processing, moving to the chair across from him instead.
“That was nice of you.” His voice was strained.
“Yeah, well.” Tan shrugged again, tugging at his collar. “I don’t like being far from my teerak. Never-ending honeymoon phase. You know?”
“Right.” Lay mumbled, adjusting his chair with a little more force than necessary.
“Oh, there he is now!” Tan perked up significantly at the sight of Fang walking towards the table, a small grin on his face and two drinks in his hand. “Teerak! Over here!”
“Hey.” Fang smiled, immediately taking the seat next to Tan and placing the drinks on the table. “Got you a drink.”
“Aww teerak, you are so cute.” Tan grinned, smacking a kiss on his cheek. He smiled at Fang physically holding himself back from scolding him. “My favourite? You know me so well.”
“Mhm.” Fang turned to Lay finally then, face neutral. “Sorry, I wasn’t sure what you like.”
“That’s okay.” Lay shook his head, waving it off.
Fang just hummed, opening his laptop and glancing at Tan’s notes. “What’re you working on?”
“Structural equations. It’s so hard.” Tan pouted, nudging him under the table with his foot. “Now I have my moral support though, so I should be all set.”
“I came here to study.” Fang raised an eyebrow at him.
“Mmm, but you bought me a drink, sat beside me, and your hand is on my thigh.” Tan countered, still smiling. “You love me.”
Across the table, Lay cleared his throat lightly. “Uh – nong, should we start?”
“Oh! Yeah, of course.” Tan blinked, leaning back in his chair. “Sorry P’Lay, got distracted by how pretty my boyfriend is.”
“Tan.” Fang’s lips twitched, and he poked Tan’s notebook with his pencil. “Focus.”
“Get your hand off me then.” Tan whispered back, smiling more when Fang didn’t move his hand from where it was resting on Tan’s leg. He turned back towards Lay. “Okay, what page are we on?”
Lay let out a loud exhale, eyes flickering between the two of them, clearly not happy. “Page seventy-two.”
“Perfect, almost the end.” Tan chirped, opening his book. “Maybe we’ll finish early and can get home quick for our plans.”
Fang just hummed.
“Movie night,” Tan said to Lay, as if he had asked, a saccharine smile glued on his face. “With cuddling.”
Lay muttered something under his breath, looking down at his book.
“You happy now, teerak?” Tan leaned in close, whispering just loud enough for Fang to hear. “I’m very taken.”
Fang bit back a smirk. “I don’t know.” He hummed, voice just as quiet. “Those marks on your neck have faded quite a bit.”
Tan grinned. “If I let you give me more, will we end up watching the movie tonight?”
Fang tilted his head slightly. “Probably not.”
Across the table, Lay slammed his book shut, stood up, and stormed off.
Tan looked at Fang with wide eyes. “Teerak, I think he heard us.”
“Possibly.” Fang stood and picked up his bag, then held his hand out casually. “Movie night?”
Tan grabbed it.
“I love you.”

Bonus
Tan was sprawled out, on the bed, the remnants of their “movie night” playing quietly in the background – Tan forgot what movie it was the minute it had started and Fang had curled his arms around him.
Now he was laying in bed, content, his skin warm under Fang’s lips as the older boy pressed soft kisses along the faded marks on his collarbone.
“You were so embarrassed about them before.” Tan laughed, grinning. “And now you’re leaving more?”
“I’m not.” Fang murmured, lips brushing the edge of a particularly dark one. “I’m making them better.”
Tan squirmed a little, a soft hum escaping his lips. His fingers played absentmindedly with Fang’s hair.
“You know teerak.” He spoke after a beat. “P’Lays face was so funny when you rocked up, he looked so annoyed.”
Fang let out a small hum.
“I didn’t even realise he was interested in me like that.” he continued, frowning at the ceiling. “I mean, I was always talking about you, pretty sure he knew your name better than mine.”
“mhm.” Fang sighed, pressing his lips to the space just below Tan’s ear, the younger shivering slightly at the feeling of his breath.
“I mean, how does someone miss that? you’re on all my social media, I have a highlight of you on my Instagram called “my teerak”, it’s obvious!”
Fang pulled away. “Tan.”
“He really changed fast though, right? Trying to flirt with me one minute, then packing up really quick.” Tan laughed a little to himself. “Do you think he’s gonna ask to reschedule? Actually-“
“Tan.” Fang’s voice was louder this time, slightly stern, his face perfectly neutral except for the slight twitch of his eyebrow. “Please stop talking about Lay.”
Tan blinked, then his face lit up.
“I will pay for you to get a new tutor.” Fang continued, a hand coming up to brush Tan’s hair from his forehead. “Just please, stop.”
Tan stared at him for a second – before bursting out laughing.
“Oh my god teerak, you’re so jealous!” he laughed, hands coming up to rest on the sides of Fang’s neck. “You’re really gonna buy me a new tutor?”
“I am tired of hearing his name in my condo.” Fang leaned in close, his voice soft.
Tan smiled, pulling Fang’s face down and capturing his lips in a slow – deep kiss, feeling the way Fang melted against him, grip tightening around him, lips moving together.
He exhaled when he pulled away, a little flushed and smiling.
“I love you teerak.” He whispered, just between them (for once) “even when you’re super duper jealous and a little crazy.”
Fang rolled his eyes, moving his hand so he was lightly caressing Tan’s cheek.
“I love you too.”
