Chapter Text

Firey was pacing back and forth, distressed. He… didn't feel normal. He wasn't like himself today, something was on his mind. No.. not something. Someone. He eventually stops to sit down, rest, distract him from what troubles him. But… he can't think of anything else other than Leafy, his secret crush. Since when was she so pretty? Who gave her the permission to be? She's so nice, so Cheerful, lovely, so..

 

“Heyyy, Firey!” Leafy joyously says, walking up to Firey, completely oblivious.

“...H-Hey Leafy.” Firey says, his gaze fixed on her, and nothing else. 

“How's my best friend doing??” Leafy asked, just wanting to talk to Firey, and no one else. She sits down next to him. 

But.. “best friend”? Firey wanted to be more than that! Firey looked even more uncomfortable and tense. Now Firey thinks that Leafy only sees him as a friend!! Firey just sits there, too stunned to speak.

“Uhh.. Firey?? You good??” She asks, showing concern for someone who she fancies. 

“Yeah- I just- Have a lot on my mind right now, Leafy.” Firey says. 

“Like what? Is there anything I could do to help?” Leafy asks, just wanting to spend the whole day with him.

“Not to sound rude, or anything, but maybe you could give me some time and space? I need some time to think.” Firey said, quickly regretting it after.

“Oh.. sorry then, Firey. I guess you never wanted to hang out with me anyway! I bet you didn't even want or need my help!” She gets up, walks away before Firey can even say something.

“Wh- Wait, no! Leafy, it isn't like that! I- I want to- I-” He sighs.

“I love you.. Leafy.” He mumbled, but it was too late for that. 

What was even the point anymore? To ask her out, only for her to reject? 

To be made fun of?

To sound stupid? 

Its not like Leafy would listen to him. She almost never does. Firey wasn't mad at her, he likes her. 

No…

He loves her.

No…

He's in love with her.

This causes Firey to overthink, something he probably doesn't do often. A lot of stuff was spiraling in his mind…all of them being about Leafy. He starts pacing again. Until he hears a familiar voice, interrupting his thoughts.

“Firey?” Said the familiar voice. It was Pin, in the background glancing at him, “what are you doing here? You look more stressed than Leafy is… oh wait you're like never stressed. What's going on?” Pin sits down, offering the seat next to her. 

“That's the problem!” He says, sitting next to her. 

“What is? Leafy?” Did you two get into an argument agai..” Pin trails off, 

..oh.

“OH! Okay, so, you like Leafy? Wait, don't answer that, I already know you do." Pin said. 

“WHAT.” Firey said, “calmly”. (Cough.. /ref) 

“I mean uh..okay yes I do, I admit it!!..” Firey said, embarrassed.

“Okay, tell me about it. Let's have a heart-to-heart about it.” Pin requested.

Firey sighs, “Leafy is.. absolutely amazing. I love her, she's so nice, so caring, so cheerful, lovely, she has no care in the world. She always makes sure I'm okay. But I don't think she likes me in that way.. I'm pretty sure she only sees me as a friend. She wouldn't like someone like me.. what if she doesn't even like me…? I feel guilty for not letting her into Dream Island, I know that was years ago but still.. …the last time we talked was a few minutes ago, and I think I made it worse..she seemed mad after I told her to give me space..” 

“...Oh, wow. Uh. It's okay! I felt the same way with Coiny, and now look at our relationship now! (Dating) ha.. oh, coiny. Anyway, you're in luck Firey! Because guess what!” Pin says, happily.

“Leafy doesn't like me, doesn't she?” Firey says, doubting that Leafy would ever like him. 

“No… Quite the opposite actually! Leafy came to me too, saying that she feels the same way about you!” Pin reveals..

…this 

…is a joke, right?

..just, a little prank from Pin?

“Wait.. what.” Firey asks, In disbelief.

“I'm not repeating that, you heard me.” Pin says.

“A-Actually? This isn't a joke, right?” 

“Yeah, I wouldn't do something like that. …or would i” Pin says, grinning.

“I- I'm going to Leafy, this instant!” Firey states, getting up and running off.

“Good luck!” Pin sighs, “Job well done, Pin. ..Hm. I wonder what my dear Coiny is doing right now..”

Meanwhile…

“LEAFY!!” Firey yells, catching up to Leafy.

“Firey? What are you doing here. I thought you needed some “time and space”?” She glares at him. 

“You like me..?” Firey asks, wanting the truth.

“Wh- WHO TOLD YOU..??!!” Leafy questioned him, blushing.

“That doesn't matter right now, what does is that I like you too, I love you! I never meant for you to get mad or for me to get mad, I'm sorr-” He gets cut off, Leafy hugged him tightly. 

After the hug, they hold each other's hands. 

“You.. do? Really?” Leafy asked

“Yes!!” Firey exclaimed, excitedly.

And then they kissed. The End! (Of the First chapter 🤩)
