Work Text:
There was one thing and another that made Hyunjae have to step back from their project. Chanhee could wait, but the project—and its stakeholders—could not.
So Chanhee got a new partner, and the project went well—a little too well for Hyunjae's liking. The new couple received just as much love as they once did,
and Chanhee....he seemed happy.
Or maybe, even happier?
Chanhee kept getting busier untill one day, Hyunjae stopped hearing from him altogether.
They drifted apart,
And in the end, all Hyunjae got was a breakup message from Chanhee for their closure.
Two years passed, and Hyunjae still could not move on.
(you guys don't have to tease him, the teasing he got from his friends is enough to remind him how stupidly in love he is)
Today, Chanhee and Younghoon, Chanhee's new on-screen couple (or so Hyunjae desperately hopes only on-screen) are holding their first fancon.
Hyunjae, the masochist that he is (Kevin’s words, not his), went to watch it.
Now, halfway through the show, he really wishes he had listened to Sangyeon. He’s never cared much about his other friends' opinions, but ignoring Sangyeon? That was a mistake.
And he regrets it now—deeply.
Because how could he not?
Right there on stage, Chanhee ended his performance with Younghoon with a quick peck on the older’s lips.
Chanhee initiated the skinship first? And it was a kiss?
NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.
But it happened.
And it wasn’t with him.
It wasn’t Hyunjae.
And to make it worse, when Chanhee pulled back, Younghoon held his tiny waist firmly—and pulled him into a deeper kiss.
Chanhee did not resist. He wrapped his arms around Younghoon’s neck and kissed him back.
The crowd erupted in cheers, while Hyunjae sat frozen, feeling his heart shatter into a million pieces.
Had Chanhee really forgotten him?
That was all Hyunjae could think about on his way home.
Yes, that’s how pathetic he had been all this time.
Kudos to his friends for putting up with him.
