Fell paced back and forth in the hallway before knocking on the door to Sci's lab/room/practically-where-Sci-lives. "One moment!" Sci exclaimed with a clatter coming from the other side.
"sweetheart, it's been a few moments. like, 3 days."
"Fell, I'm doing something important!"
"what is so important that ya haven't left your room, and presumably haven't ate, slept, or drank anything other than coffee, for that fuckin' long?!"
Sci went silent. Fell sighed, resting against the door with a soft thud. Sci sighed in return as he thought over his words.
"Just… Just give me some time. I should, uh, be done in... uhm, I wasn't expecting a time estimate to be needed. Give me two hours?"
Fell ran a hand down his face, shaking his head even though Sci couldn't see him. "if ya aren' out by then, i'll be draggin' ya out myself."
Sci mumbled an affirmative before he went silent as he looked down at what he had finished. It was almost complete, sure, but would two hours be enough time? Sci turned on his CD player and started to hum to the tune of the first song.
An hour passed with no words spoken between the two, even as Fell leaned against Sci's door. He was really curious about what Sci could've been doing, sure, but it seemed important to the other. Instead of looking in, he kept his curiosity to himself and listened to Sci hum.
Sci stood up and stretched, before he picked up his work delicately. He knocked on his door, shifting.
"Fell, er.. I'm done. Can you close your eyes?"
"sure." Fell stepped back from the door, closing his eyesockets as he heard the door open. Sci took a breath and grabbed the other's hands, placing the item in them.
"sci, can i open my eyes? 'm curious on what this is."
Sci nodded, before stammering out an affirmative. He took his hands out of Fell's and laughed sheepishly. As Fell opened his eyes, he saw the thing Sci had spent so long on; a necklace.
Fell picked it up gently, examining it. The necklace was a thin gold chain with a green gem as a pendant. Fell smiled at Sci as he put it on.
"hm. is this aventurine?"
"From my knowledge.. You like that one, right? I think you look nice with it."
Fell nodded, taking Sci's hands in his own. He looked to the side before he looked back at Sci.
"i know i got a bit mad at you. i'm sorry. but," Fell adjusted Sci's glasses, "you know ya shouldn't put aside sleep for that long."
"Yes, you tell me about this a lot.. though, you must understand! This was really important, for—"
"—for our anniversary, because ya forget a lot. i could guess. now, c'mon."
Fell picked up Sci, carrying him over to the couch. He tossed Sci onto the couch, and then the remote at Sci. "get comfy 'n' pick a movie while i make some popcorn."
Sci stayed silent before he chuckled. "You've got it, Edge."
