Flower of Transformation

Summary:

Sapphire is struggling both at home, and at school.

Chapter 1: Hey, what's with that look?

Chapter Text

Click, click, click.

The purple haired teenager was counting every click of his pen, waiting for the school day to end. Sapphire didn’t quite want to go home, but he’d rather die than remain at school, truthfully. He was sick of constantly hearing those whispers about him just because he was dating Shamil. Sometimes Sapphire would think about accepting the others' offers to skip classes, but he didn’t want his parents on his case for that as well.

Someone clicking their fingers in front of his face snapped him out of his thoughts, though.

“Sapphire. We need everyone's cooperation for this task. Not just Finan and I’s.” CC said, taking the pen from the others hand, and writing something on the shared sheet of paper. Finan nodded as CC spoke. To Sapphire, it seemed like all she ever did was agree with him, and it pissed him off.

Sapphire simply nodded, staring down at the paper on the desk, he couldn’t quite make out any of the words, at least, without putting in the effort needed, considering he forgot his glasses again today.

Forgot was a bit of an inaccurate word for the situation, though, all things considered. His parents had decided he did something wrong by not eating his dinner the night before, so they took most of his belongings, glasses included. Though, they always managed to conveniently only barely miss finding his stash of blades. Sapphire found that fact funny, but he was also just wondering. Wondering if they did know about his issues, and chose to leave them with him anyway. If they didn’t know, and genuinely managed to miss them. He had no idea

The bell tolled, signalling the end of the day. Sapphire started packing his things into his bag, as CC spoke to him. “I’ll go with you to your place so we can work on this and have it ready for tomorrow. Okay?”

Sapphire paused. He thought for a moment. Would his parents be upset about this? They definitely would be, but this project was worth a huge portion of their grade. So they wouldn’t yell until the next evening, most likely.

After CC had left the house, and Sapphire had spoken to both of his parents and said goodnight to Candy, he returned to his bedroom.

He opened Discord on his burner phone, and opened his chat with Shamil.

May 18 - 10:34PM
Sapphy: shamil mylove ims o sorry for not talking to you today i was really stressed and i didnt want you to worry
Shamil: I’m certain that’s not true, is it? I saw you with that blond after school. What did you do with him, hm?
Sapphy: it was nothing with him i promise. i had to work with him for a stupid project i could never love anyone but you, you know that right?
Shamil: Mhm. Sure. Now, I’ve got an idea that’ll make me forget all about this little incident, okay?
Sapphy: of course, what is it? i’ll do anything.
Shamil: If you cut yourself again, same as usual, I’ll overlook this. M’kay?

Without another message Sapphire had turned off his phone, rushing to his drawers to take out some of his blades. He knelt down on his floor, picking up his phone again and opening the camera app. He took a sharp breath in, before pulling up his sleeve with his free hand. He quickly aimed the camera at his wrist, before picking up one of his blades and tapping the record button.

He put the blade against his skin, before applying pressure, and dragging it over the width of his arm. He repeated the action upon the whole length of his forearm, wincing every time he saw it cut deeper, and deeper. He stopped after twenty five cuts, unable to continue due to the pain of it, and the blood dripping down his arm. Sapphire felt lightheaded as he hit the record button again, ending the filming, then wiping the blood with some tissues, and wrapping the wounds with a few bandages he kept under his bed.

He quickly sent the video to Shamil before he opened Twitter, scrolling for a few minutes before finally posting the video he had taken.

After a few minutes of the post being up, Sapphire noticed that he had a new follower on his account. “Nooseofguilt”, hm? Interesting username, he thought. He turned off his phone, and went to sleep

____________

CC was shocked when he opened Twitter that evening to see a post from one of the self harm communities he knew of that had Sapphire’s bedroom visible in the background. Was the other okay? How long had he been doing these things for? How often? And most importantly, how bad did it have the possibility to get?

CC shook his head as his thoughts swirled. He couldn’t be worrying this much about someone he barely knew. Besides, he has his own things to deal with.

The blond opened his notes app, typing in what he had eaten since he returned home (which, truthfully, was a very small portion of his dinner), and took a screenshot, posting it to his twitter.

Everyone has their own issues. Not everyone can afford to risk themselves over it.

Or, at least that was what CC was thinking, before he scrolled back down to the post he realised was from Sapphire, tapping open the account information, and following.

It wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on him, right?
