Watching Peter slowly becoming a father was both heartwarming and relativly amusing
He recognized that sweet nervousness of a brand new dad who just realized the blissful world he just entered to. It was a true beauty to watch with experienced eye,s like his.
Somehow, Peter thought he was doing everything wrong. And yet, it wasn't even that surprising, he was always thinking like that. It was a thing he'll have to fix, he thought. To Scott's eye's, Peter was the best dad this world would ever have walking on it.
Sometimes (scratch that, all the time ), the older man would take some time to admire the portrait that was painting itself in front of him. Watching Peter gently lulling their son to sleep or feeding him with a bottle was a true masterpiece. Just like it was with Cassie.
She was absolutly thrilled to finally be a big sister. She didn't care if her brother was adopted, she was just shaking with impatience because she possibly coudn't wait to show him all the cool Ant-mant trcicks she knows. She dropped by every single day at their place just to spend time with him (and them of course, but they were a bit of a second choice, honestly) Wich Scott didn't complained about. He was more then happy to get to see his daughter every day, wich was impossible to even dream about a few years ago. Well, only a few years for him but way longer for her, since he like....been stuck in the quantum dimension for five years but you know...
The biggest fear for both him and Peter was Cassie not accepting the adoption. In fact, the adoption itself was supposed to be a surprise, but Peter snapped him out of it, in fear that if Cassie was upset with it, it could quickly degenerate. Peter was so releived when Cassie's eye's lit upwhebn they told her that he nearly cried.
But, having another children didn't made it any easier, it's quite the opposite actually. Since Scott is clearly not as young as he was when he had Cassie, waking up every couple of hours or so had been extremly hard difficult for him and so for Peter. Even if his metabolism works way fasterthan a normal human, his partner still need to rest. For being honest, he thought he was quite taken aback by this whole situation. And frankly, who could blame him? Parenthood is something difficult to get used to, and really, something difficult end.
Tonight was no different at all. Scott was waken up by the violent cries of a very fussy little human being, claiming the attention from both his parents. Still half-asleep, the lst he heard before falling back into unconsciousness was the sleepy 'I'm going' from the opposite side of the bed. He did not know when he waked up again, but when he did, Peter was shaking him gently with their son snuggled up in his arms, yawning.
''I uh...I changed him, he's fed but eh...he's still awake. Do I like...hang out with him?''
Scott tried not to laught too lound at the statement.
''Yeah we could...hang out with him.'' he said, turning on the TV of their bedroom and lowering the volume at minimum.
He's going to need a good cup of coffee.
