Julio stares at him, the word not making sense. It's like his grasp on English has left the building entirely. "Okay, what?"
"I want it to be you, then," Star says, completely un-self conscious. "You are my best friend." He says it like it makes perfect sense, like it's the only reason he would ever need for this.
"But you said you didn't..."
"I do not want what they do on Mojoworld," Shatty clarifies, a little sharp. "You are different."
"I'm not gonna be as good as an alpha," Julio warns him. "And I've never even, y'know, gone the distance with a girl."
"Well then it is a good thing I am not a girl," Shatterstar says, and he's teasing now, Julio can tell.
