Hot Weather, Cold Outfit
It was a cold day in the mountains as always, and Crunchy Chip had nothing better to do that day; his king, Dark Cacao, was inside his castle, doing, probably, king-like things. So he decided to ask him if he could go to the Hollyberry Kingdom for a while, after all, nothing sounded better than going to pay his boyfriend, Wildberry, a surprise visit. Maybe even buy him some gifts! He had enough coins for that.
So, he climbed onto his cream wolf and went to the entrance of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, asking to be let in, so he could speak with the king for a moment. Of course, he was ready for the possibility that he would say no, but he really wished for him to say yes, it had been some peaceful days here, so why not? Once he was in front of Dark Cacao, he gave a gentle bow to the king.
"My king" he spoke calmly, his energetic demeanor changing to a more professional facade "I have come to you to ask for a request" he said, looking at the cookie in front of him, the biggest warrior and king he has ever known.
"Crunchy Chip Cookie" the king said, looking at him "What is it that I can help you with?" his face ever so serious, not a single smile nor a sparkle, the face of all those who live in the Dark Cacao Kingdom.
All except for the one in front of him right now.
"I wanted to ask for permission to pay a visit to a friend of mine in the Hollyberry Kingdom" he spoke, always referring to his lover as a friend, he never felt safe enough to out himself nor Hollyberry's guard "My friend, Wildberry Cookie" he finally said, Dark Cacao showing a hint of a smug before shaking his head slightly.
"I guess there is no issue for you to go for a while... Remember to come before the training of Thursday evening, I need you and Caramel Arrow Cookie to train the new guards, since you two are the most capacitated for such job" he explained, getting a nod as an answer "See you later then, Crunchy Chip Cookie."
Crunchy Chip got everything ready and embarked to his destination: The Hollyberry Kingdom. He saw more practical to go in the ballon dock, so he opted to that, going in along with his cream wolf and some other cookies, which he was talking with the whole time. Something he noticed was how the temperature seemed to raise; the farther they were from the mountains, the hotter it got. Which yeah, was obvious was going to happen, but he was using his clothes for the cold, so he kind of was feeling more and more heat, and the Sun was as bright as a million stars. But it was fine, he could manage the hot temperature, he is Dark Cacao's warrior AND guard! He could with this and more... Yeah, of course.
After some hours, the balloon dock landed and, with that, the cookies could get down of it, paying its price before walking away. Crunchy Chip said his goodbyes to the cookies and continued his way, he wanted to make a quick tour of the market, see what he could buy for his lover, keeping in mind what he liked, what was useful and everything. To be honest, Crunchy Chip's one of his love languages, aside of screaming, hitting and biting, was gift giving. Well, he learned that while being with Wildberry, he felt like he needed to make Wildberry feel loved in every single way he could think of, including with something as silly as gifts.
His only problem? It was hot right now... WAY too hot, he felt his vision a bit blurry, but again, nothing too serious, right? After all, he had endured worst than a simple hot weather. He continued walking, buying a little bit of everything and stuffing everything in a backpack he brought with him and his cream wolf had in his back right now; he bought a bit of everything, but above all there were necklaces and bracelets to share, some sweets and one or another silly stuffed animal that he saw and found silly. Would Wildberry like that? Not sure, he hoped so though.
Going back to the heat issue, he found odd how some sellers were asking if he was okay, of course he was! Why wouldn't he?
"Sir, I would recommend sitting down for a bit, I have water for you to drink! It is a really hot day today and... Your dough seems very... Dry, even for a cookie" said one of the merchants, making Crunchy Chip chuckle a bit.
"Pft! Nothing to worry about! I am perfectly fine" he said, turning around to leave "THanks for worrying though."
He did not even get to do a step before collapsing on the floor, unconscious.
Wildberry was doing some errands his queen mother asked him to. Nothing interesting, just visit the town and be sure everyone and everything is okay. His walking was precised, as if he knew where to go, what to expect. And, to be honest, he knew it would be a normal and calm day, where his worst issue will be, probably, stopping a cake hound from eating something that can hurt its tummy.
Or well, seems like the destiny had different plans for him, because he heard panic and calls for help at a distance... But it did not seem like help from something but... to someone? He quickened his pace and, before he knew it, started running. He was not sure what was he expecting to find, but Crunchy Chip on the floor, being aired for some cookies, and only on a shirt and, he suppose, pants he uses under his gear, with his cream wold alongside him whining was not on his mind. And when it hit that he was, in fact, looking at his lover on the floor, he started panicking internally, going towards him.
"What happened to him?!" he asked, looking around for an explanation, not sure if he was attacked or something worse "Has he been unconcious for long?!"
"Wildberry Cookie" the merchandise of before spoke "He got a heatstroke, he was walking around using a lot of robes and did not seem okay, but he was just denying it" they said, with Crunchy Chip's clothes folded next to them "I- I don't know how much it has been, probably more than a minute"
Without a single word more, Wildberry nodded and carried Crunchy Chip on his arms, rushing to the nearest hospital he could find. Being followed by the cream wolf.
His mind was racing, why was Crunchy Chip here? Why didn't he tell him? Why was Crunchy Chip using all those clothes knowing how hot it is here? He loves him, but his lack of thinking sometimes surprises him. He just continued his path until they got to a hospital, seeing a nurse and rushing towards her.
"He got a heatstroke! Can you please help him?" he asked, breathing rapidly for running too much.
The nurse accepted and she, along with another nurse, rushed him to a room, while he just had to sit in the waiting rom and, well, wait.
The cream wolf was next to him whining and, he thinks, crying. Wildberry just patted him while looking at him.
"He will be fine, okay? We will take care of him when he gets out of here" he spoke, until he noticed something on his back "What do you have there? Let me see"
And that's when he saw all the gifts, understanding everything unbelievably fast. Of course, that's why Crunchy Chip didn't tell him he was coming, he wanted to surprise him, to gift him some silly things. He just watched everything touched and mesmerized, he had the best lover and he never, absolutely never, doubted of it.
He was not sure how many time passed, maybe an hour and a half, maybe more, maybe less, when the doctor asked for famliars of Crunchy Chip and he basically jumped out of his chair, being guided to the room.
And there he was, his man, his everything, looking pale and sick. He just smiled softly, walking towards him.
"You really don't think things through, huh?" he asked, looking at him and chuckling a little bit.
Crunchy chip couldn't anything more than laugh a bit, reaching for Wildberry's hand and holding it calmly, at least before he felt nauseous and had to turn his face to the side in case he wanted to vomit, which didn't happen, thankfully.
"I don't have clothes for weather like this, leave me alone" he said jokingly, looking at his boyfriend "And it's not the worst thing that has happened to me, so I'm pretty sure I'll live"
After talking some more, the doctor came and explained a bit the situation to both of them. He also said that it will be better if Crunchy Chip stays until the end of the day, but Wildberry preferred to go home with him, saying that he could take proper care. At first the doctor said that that was not a good idea, but after a bit of insistence, he just gave some medicine to Crunchy Chip and let Wildberry know how to take care of him and what to do in case he gets bad again, which was not supposed to happen, and to be ready in case he vomits, feels dizzy and/or has a hard time eating things. With that, he finally let them go.
Hollyberry was extremely happy to see Crunchy Chip in the kingdom, offering him a place of his own to sleep these days. Crunchy Chip was not extremely anxious because he had some days before going back to his kingdom, like two or three days.
"I will make sure that he eats somethings" he said to Hollyberry "I ask for permission in the kitchen, Queen Mother."
"Oh but of course! Who am I to deny such request?" she said, full of energy as always "Just don't make a big mess, you know sometimes the helpers don't want to clean up big messes" she last said before laugh loudly and walk away.
Wildberry looked at Crunchy Chip, who seemed as he wanted to laugh "What?"
"´Who am I to deny such request´uhm... The queen, probably?" he said, making Wildberry crack a smile before shaking his head and ruffle his hair "Hey!"
Wildberry got him in bed and told him to wait while he cooked. His boyfriend wanted to go too, but he had to tell him that being near hot things can trigger again a faint or something like that, so he left him in the room (with a bucket in case he throws up) and went to cook, asking the cream wolf to take proper care of him and search for him if they need him.
Finally in the kitchen, he was thinking about what could he make, maybe a hot jelly stew? Hearty rye? Or maybe a fluffy omurice was a better option? No, the omurice was too heavy with how sensitive his state was. He just decided for a hearty rye and hot jelly stew, Crunchy Chip will either eat both or one, but he couldn't just leave him without eating, that could make his state worse.
While cooking everything, he was also ready in case the cream wolf appears crying again. He won't say it out loud, but he was really scare for Crunchy Chip's health, what would have happened if he didn't go to the town? If he didn't hear the pleas for help? Or even worse, if no one was near if he collapsed ina different place? That was genuinely scary, maybe he should give Crunchy Chip some clothes for when he decides to visit him again by surprise. Well, at least he was alive and as healthy as one could be after an incident like that. And he didn't throw up on him, so that was that, now he had to try and make him eat and keep him distracted. Maybe talk a bit about their day, it's been a while since they last saw each other. Maybe a month or so, it was hard to see each other when they are both the main guards of their king and queen, respectively. But it was fine, even with the busy schedules, the little moments to see each other and things like that, he always trusted Crunchy Chip, and he knows he trusts him too.
He went back to the room, just to see Crunchy Chip throwing up in the bucket he gave him. Shaking his head and sighing, he walked towards the bed and sat next to him, watching him put the bucket on the ground and look at him.
"I look like shit, don't I?" he asked, looking as Wildberry just got comfortable on the bed with the tray on his lap "You have to be honest with me or I won't be happy" he joked a bit.
"Oh, no, you do look like shit" he answered honestly, with his boyfriend looking at him indignantly, making him chuckle "You asked me to be honest"
"Yeah but you were supposed to lie! I can't believe this" Wildberry was not very open, but Crunchy Chip was really making him chuckle and lit his face since he got there "Thanks for... helping me out there, I almost died, probably" he mumbled, reaching for Wildberry's hand once again.
"Please, you are my boyfriend and you were in danger, I will always help you out, because I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you" he said sincerely, watching as his boyfriend's face blushed entirely, and in the brightest color he had ever seen.
The rest of the night was Crunchy Chip trying to eat, and then looking at the window while talking about everything; the past, the future, everything in between too. What got them talking the most was about the future, their future together.
"You know?" Crunchy Chip said, getting Wildberry's attention "I... never imagined myself with someone, like this... It feels great" he mumbled, looking at Wildberry for a second before watching at the nightsky through the window once again "Thanks for... loving me, even if we live far away from each other, even if I tend to be so loud, intense and... I don't know, I don't really have any defects" he said in the middle of his romantic speech, getting a bit overwhelmed and not sure how to continue it, making his lover laugh a little once again "Anyways, thanks for everything, you do a good job"
"Thanks, my love, you are doing a great job too, I'm happy having a little ball of energy next to me" he bothered, getting hit with a ´´how did you just call me?!´´ and with a pillow too "Hey, that's foul play, you had me off guard."
"Don't care, didn't ask, I won anyways" he said, seeing how the bear he had for a boyfriend just launched onto him and started attacking him with kisses, even in his mouth "Woah, woah! Dude I was throwing up not even a minute ago, don't be gross!" but his yelling was just ignored, trying to fight him, even punching him in the back but to no avail.
Maybe he won't be able to train the new guards in the Dark Cacao Kingdom, and maybe he will stay here more tha had expected, but it was okay. He was with his boyfriend, and he couldn't ask for anything else. Well, maybe not getting sick in the first place, but he really didn't feel that bad anymore.
"I love you, vomit-kisser" he mocked his boyfriend before receiving another kiss, making him giggle.
"I love you too, heat-boy" he mocked back, getting hit in the head with Crunchy Chip's fist "Ow!"
"Don't call me heat-boy again in your life" but when Wildberry just kept laughing, he started bitting him, starting a small, stupid little fight.
The fight just ended with them cuddling, with Wildbery as the big spoon just so Crunchy Chip could laid on his side and use the bucket in case he really needed that.
And he spend the next days just laying down and bothering his lover, mostly talking or just playing around, sometimes going out for a bit, just not too long in case he starts feeling dizzy and (more) sick again. And of course, he went back to the Dark Cacao Kingdom using all the matching jewelry he got with Wildberry.
