Snack Bag opened his eyes. The room was bright. Much too bright. The first thing they felt was the heat. Their dough was already a bit burnt at the edges. Oh no.
No no no no no no no no no no no
They were here again. Back into the fire. It was eating away at the house like a beast with its prey. Snack Bag tried to scream, but all that came out was a deep and hoarse cough. They got up and ran. They tried to run faster this time, but they weren't fast enough. They never were.
Before they knew it, a wooden pillar from the ceiling fell on top of them, stopping their movement. The weight pinned them to the ground while the fire spread across the home. They looked in front of them. The exit was just across from them. A well known figure stood outside of it.
They reached their hands towards the figure. They tried to beg for help but once again, all that escaped from their mouth was black smoke. The figure stared coldly for what felt like an eternity, before turning away, closing the door as they left.
He was alone now. The light hurt their eyes as the fire burnt their dough.
Snack Bag sat up from their bed. Their hands shook as they held onto his blanket.
The room was dark. The only light came from the moon that shined out the windows. It was just a dream. He was safe. He jumped as a knock was heard on his door. Oh. He must've screamed again…
The door creaked open, revealing Poison Mushroom.
“You okay Dude…?”
Snack Bag nodded nervously.
“Did you have that nightmare again…?”
Snack Bag paused. They weren't sure how to respond. They really didn't want to worry the small cookie. They didn't want to worry anyone.
“You want a shoomie…? It'll make you feel better…!”
Snack Bag gently pushed the mushroom away as they shook their head. They patted the small cookies head as a sign of thanks. They pointed to themselves then did a thumbs up to show that they were fine.
“Hm… I'll have some if you need one later…!”
Snack Bag nodded, his bag hiding his smile. Poison Mushroom left the room, leaving him alone. He stared at the ceiling for a while, knowing he wasn't going to fall asleep anytime soon. He stood up, deciding to take a short walk to clear his mind.
