You had completed the last mission of the day, you could finally do as you please. Guarding the outskirts of Konohagakure was utterly boring. Although you wanted to snuggle up in your bed reading the new volume of Make-Out Paradise, you decide to do extra work and really make sure there isn't a surprise ambush (since you half-assed your mission anyways).
As you approach deeper into the forest, you notice a few rodents skirmishing to different bushes. You look ahead of you to see what could be causing so much disruption, only to see your friend sitting on a tree.
"Standing around doesn't quite suit a Jonin like you, now does it?" He snickered.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be training?" You questioned.
"I wanted to show you my improved Chidori."
"You're really risking your life sneaking out unbeknownst to Orochimaru, just to show me your jutsu..?"
"Just shut up and follow me." He said, leading you to an open field.
You haven't seen Sasuke for a few months, you cant help but notice the little details about this new change. His outfit really suits him, his hair is longer, and he's grown taller...
"And what are you staring at?"
"What do you think?"
"Just don't get too carried away, otherwise it won't be any fun."
"When did you care about having fun?"
"Tch."
"You seriously don't think you're the only one who has improved, right? I haven't been just standing around this whole time." You teased.
"Hmph, we'll see about that."
If you were a little more keen on your senses, you would've been able to detect a fellow ninja watching your every step. A very powerful ninja, in fact.
Itachi lurks Konohagakure for one reason and one reason only, to watch over his brother Sasuke. The older brother ensures that he is on the right path for revenge. However, you've been deterring him off this path ever since you've reunited with the raven-haired man. This angers the older Uchiha, and he must get rid of you. Sasuke should be used to his older brother taking things away from him.
When you arrive to the battlefield, you feel uneasy. You ask if Sasuke is feeling the same, but he brushes you off and tells you to prepare for his attack.
The beautiful melody of Chidori relentlessly assaults your ears, it reaches a specific part and you know that it's finished charging.
