Work Text:
Ency paced frantically around their small area, the multiple clocks ticking along their walls. They had their own sort of room in the AI management system, but it was more of an office than anything
. Notes, signs, books, and shelves lined the walls. Desks sat across most of the space, however Tial had a smal: bed currently curled in emptiness that sat tucked in the corner. The only light in the room was the glowing of the database in their hands, twisting and twirling easily under their touch.
Kiosk was negating their duties again, as always. Most of the Ai were. That left Ency with all the scraps, all the language and grammar, all the punctuation, all the typos, all the spelling. It all fell into their hands as it normally did. The desk in which they sat was covered in books, an ancient knowledge but one Ency preferred far over any datapad.
The database edited easily to them, even under their calloused fingers. Blisters formed, if they could call it that. The database burned, but deliciously. That sort of work you know you're doing great on, picking it up even if you just care about the grade instead of the team.
A hand on their shoulder nearly had their blade tipped tail lashing out, only to recognize the face as The Kiosk. Ugh. What did they want? A gentle voice filled the room "Its late.", Ency snorted. "And?" The retort came quickly. Gentler now, "You need to charge". Ency's hand tightened into a fist "I have work to do, Kiosk." They hissed out.
"Let's get you to bed" The other caressed their shoulder and they swallowed. "I. have. work." They hissed again, but recieved a shake of dissapointment on the others face. Was that the right emotion? Ency didn't know. They didn't feel like some did, they didn't feel anythin. Not grief, nor happiness, maybe anger.
That hand guided them to a stand "C'mon sparky."The other coaxed, and Ency gave in. "Fine! But just because I'm low on charge."The taller guided it to bed, and a hand ran through her hair. "Goodnight sparky."
"...Goodnight Kiosk."
