“My bro’s are here!”
Jungkook freezes as eleven thousand eyes are on him, and deafening screams fill his ears. Taehyung cheers next to him, and Jimin’s smile is practically blinding, but Jungkook’s eyes are as wide and shiny as ever.
“I’ve felt very lonely being on stage by myself, but now they’re here, and so are armies!”
The screams get louder as Jungkook blinks, trying to will the tears springing to his eyes away. He can’t imagine how burnt he smells right now.
Yoongi? Lonely? That’s unacceptable, but he imagines it’s something like how he’s felt the last few months.
But now, Yoongi’s finally home, and he’s not going anywhere—Jungkook will make sure of that.
An arm snakes its way around his waist, his favorite cinnamon scent returning him to reality.
“You’re okay,” Jimin says, only loud enough for him to hear, and he kisses his cheek. Taehyung squeezes his hand, and Jungkook’s reminded that they’re here and love him.
Jungkook watches as Yoongi makes his way to the piano at the bottom of the stage. Echoes of their fan chant fill the room, and it takes Jungkook’s breath away. He pulls Jimin tighter and drags Taehyung closer, holding them as tight as he can as the three of them sing along to Yoongi’s version of life goes on.
Yoongi’s melodic voice, the fan chant around them, and the beautiful citrus and cinnamon scents filling his nose are everything he needs to let go and release everything he’s been holding in since Yoongi left for tour.
Yoongi belongs on the stage; he’s always known that, but watching videos and seeing pictures of him every night and now witnessing it in person, he knows Yoongi’s home is on a stage.
He thinks back to Yoongi telling him about the tour, quietly confessing it in the early morning hours, telling him that he wanted him to know first.
He thinks back to how heartbroken he felt that his beta would be leaving him, but the tremble in Yoongi’s words washed it all away.
Jungkook always knew that music was Yoongi’s calling, but they’ve always had each other to rely on, to look to while performing if they felt uncertain. But seeing Yoongi perform his solo songs with grace and power, there’s no argument that Yoongi is a born performer, and Jungkook is glad to be one of the six people by his side to witness it.
----------------------------
The three of them go out to dinner after the show, and it’s all gummy smiles and breathy laughs and everything that Jungkook’s been missing.
They didn’t have a chance to see each other before the show; Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook were a little late due to scheduling conflicts. The three of them listen as Yoongi recounts each city and performance of the tour, and Jungkook can’t tear his eyes away from him. His mint is as vibrant as ever and he missed it desperately. He holds Yoongi’s hand under the table, determined never to let it go again. He missed the way their scents mix and mingle, how Jimin’s cinnamon plays with Taehyung’s citrus, and Yoongi’s mint is there too, subtle but never overpowering.
He wishes the other three pack members were here, but it’s nice to have alone time, too, and they’ll all be reunited soon enough.
Jungkook doesn’t want dinner to end, but he also has been dreaming about the makeshift puppy pile the four of them are going to find themselves in when they make it back to the hotel room, then they’ll wake up and meet up with the other members, and Jungkook will be as happy and content as ever.
Yoongi picks up the bill, and then the four start heading upstairs. Taehyung takes the opportunity to tangle himself in Yoongi, and Jungkook takes Jimin’s hand in his. He smiles as he watches Taehyung and Yoongi whispering and giggling, sharing a kiss, and spots the same fond smile on Jimin’s face.
They reach the elevator, and it feels like an eternity as they go up to get to their floor. Jungkook tugs Jimin out of the elevator, and the omega and beta trail behind him. He stops at the end of the hall, remembering the number Yoongi told him earlier. He waits, albeit a little impatiently, as Taehyung and Yoongi trail behind.
Yoongi glances between the three of them with the softest smile, and it takes everything in Jungkook not to melt into the floor.
He’s pulled from his thoughts by Taehyung switching from Yoongi to Jimin. He wraps his arm around his waist, and a mischievous smile plays on his lips for a second.
“We’ll meet up with you guys later,” Jimin says, wrapping an arm around Taehyung’s shoulders.
Jungkook’s brows furrow, but before he can say anything, Taehyung tugs him forward by the shirt and presses their lips together. Yoongi snorts from behind him, and any ounce of worry that Jungkook had melts away.
Taehyung shrugs when they pull away, “Just want something sweet. We’ll be back in a bit.”
Jungkook’s nose scrunches slightly, and he nods, knowing there’s truth behind their words.
He steps back, but Jimin raises an eyebrow and says, “I think you’re forgetting something.”
Jungkook’s cheeks turn pink, and Yoongi can’t help but laugh as he watches the exchange. He doesn’t waste another second before he surges forward and captures Jimin’s lips in a kiss. It’s soft, quick before he pulls away.
The two alphas go to leave, but then Yoongi clears his throat. “Now you’re really forgetting something.”
Jungkook feels like fireworks bloom in his chest as Yoongi kisses Jimin and Taehyung. The only thing he likes more than being on the receiving end of his pack’s affections is witnessing it between them. They’re all so gentle with each other, and each action has so much love and adoration poured into it.
Yoongi and Jungkook watch Jimin and Taehyung leave, and then they’re left alone.
“Did you—”
Before Jungkook can finish his sentence, Yoongi shakes his head but smiles as he opens the door.
“I thought it was going to be the four of us,” he says.
Jungkook doesn’t let him get another word out before he surges forward and pulls Yoongi into the tightest hug he can muster. “Missed you so much,” he whispers. Yoongi laughs, and it’s the quiet and breathy kind that’s Jungkook’s favorite.
“Missed you too, little one,” he murmurs, rubbing Jungkook’s back. Jungkook’s nose finds its way to Yoongi’s neck as he presses him into the door, but he hesitates.
He knows Yoongi doesn’t like scenting, but the only thing he’s wanted for the last few months is to cover Yoongi in his brown sugar and ensure he doesn’t smell like anything else.
“Go ahead, darling.”
Jungkook doesn’t waste another second and rubs his nose along Yoongi’s throat, peppering it with light kisses. He can feel the tension from the beta melt away as he leans into him. His hands fall to his waist, and he leans against the door. He plays with the hem of his shirt, content to stand here for as long as Jungkook wants.
When Jungkook’s satisfied, he can barely smell the beta’s mint; he trails his lips up his jaw, then kisses his cheek and the corner of his mouth, but then he hesitates.
“Kiss me, please,” Yoongi breathes.
This time, Jungkook doesn’t surge forward. He gently presses their lips together and melts into Yoongi. The beta’s hands slide up and tangle in Jungkook’s hair, pulling him closer. The kiss has no heat or urgency; it’s soft, like they’re discovering each other again.
Yoongi tugs Jungkook’s jacket off and leads him to the bed. When Jungkook sits down, and he’s towering over him, those doe eyes shining up at him, Yoongi thinks he could explode.
“I love you,” he breathes, and Jungkook’s smile is blinding. He leans down and connects their lips again, but Jungkook breaks apart with a breathy giggle. “Ah, you’re laughing at me?” Yoongi questions. Jungkook nods shyly. “And why is that?”
“You’re pretty gross right now.”
Yoongi’s cheeks heat up as he realizes he hasn’t showered after the show yet. He only changed his clothes, not wanting to waste a minute of being with his pups.
“Come with me?” Yoongi offers, holding his hand out.
Jungkook takes it, a devilish smile playing at the corner of his lips. “Only if you let me scent you after.”
Yoongi snorts as they walk to the bathroom. “I don’t think that’s an argument I’ll win.”
“You know you would,” Jungkook reassures him as an out.
“It’s not one I want to win.”
Yoongi turns on the shower, and they undress each other and climb in together. Before Yoongi can reach the soap, Jungkook grabs it and starts to lather up a washcloth. Yoongi spends so much of his time taking care of them— him —he wants to return the favor.
“I had a hard time with the idea of you leaving,” Jungkook confesses. He’s not really sure where it comes from, but it feels good to tell him. “Hobi-hyung, too, even if it’s only for shows and tours, and I knew you guys were coming back and—” He cuts himself off with a huff, and the two of them trade places, Jungkook standing under the water.
“My alpha felt like everything was falling apart.”
“Jiminie had a hard time with it, too,” Yoongi adds.
“I know. We talked about it a lot.”
Yoongi’s fingers trail down Jungkook’s arm, and he takes his hand in his own, squeezing it.
“I’m sorry,” Yoongi says quietly.
Jungkook’s quick to reassure him, “Don’t be. You needed to do this—we all needed this, even if some of us didn’t realize it.”
When the eldest pack members confessed that they’d been feeling burnt out and needed a break of some sort, Jungkook felt like his world came crashing down—that everything he’s known and loved and grown up in was falling apart, and he couldn’t keep it together, and his alpha took it even harder.
It took a lot of conversations and a lot of reassurances for Jungkook to realize that nothing would change; they just needed some time and space to grow.
Space can be good, it doesn’t mean things are going to change—Seokjin had told him many, many times over the last few months.
Yoongi drops Jungkook’s hand, brings both up to cup his cheeks, leans forward, and kisses him with everything he has. Jungkook smiles into it and couldn’t be happier that the beta is back from tour and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
They finish washing up, and as they’re drying off, they hear the door open and a series of giggles as Jimin and Taehyung come stumbling in. It brings a smile to both of their faces. They quickly get dressed and meet the other alphas, who are already sitting on the bed waiting for them.
“We brought you guys’ ice cream,” Jimin offers, holding up two cups, and Jungkook dives forward and sits between them, grabbing the cup and happily eating.
He glances between the three of them, smiling as Yoongi sits next to Jimin. The alpha had some lingering doubts before today, but tonight has silenced them all. He is loved and loves his pack members more than anything and knows they’re not going anywhere.
