The trip to Biosyn was short, but felt long and tedious. After saying goodbye to Agent Barry Sembene, Brooklynn and her friends take off on a helicopter to finish what they started by heading to Biosyn Valley nearby. Brooklynn felt a huge weight off her chest as she took down Soyona Santos, one of the biggest dino traffickers and her attempted killer and had her behind bars for the rest of her life, a worthwhile mission playing by her side for a bit to ensure the safety of not only herself but her friends and family. With Santos and the Handler out of the way, Brooklynn can focus on taking down Lewis Dodgson himself, the man behind Biosyn and every bit of trauma she endured due to the company. As they flew to Biosyn Valley, Brooklynn was deep in thought.
"What should I even say? Hello? Hi? I should probably apologise too. Sorry for faking my death and betraying you? Ugh. This is all so complicated" Brooklynn contemplated in her head as she was staring down at the floor.
The trio noticed her being quiet, Ben and Darius initially just trading confused looks amongst themselves as if to convince the other to speak up before Yaz, rolling her eyes, made the first move.
"Sooo..been a while, eh?" she said, snapping Brooklynn out of her thoughts and back to the present.
"Uh yeah, yeah.." she said, clearly trying to fathom what to even say to her friends, the people she betrayed by leaving with the Broker, her family.
"Some things changed" she said glancing at her arm "..but I'm ok now...I guess...w-what about you?"
"I'm fine, thanks Brooklynn"
"Yeah we are great now that we have you back, holy shit we missed you"
"I'm greater than ever before, ooh look at my arms due to all my working ou-" Yaz coughed. "...Oh...I didn't mean it like that, I meant that like, I have my amazing muscles on my two arms and uh-" Yaz put her hand over Ben's mouth.
"It's ok, guys, really, I'm fine."
Yaz looked a bit concerned and stated "Brooklynn...what's wrong..? You were happy a minute ago when you said goodbye to Barry, what happened?"
Brooklynn was on the verge of tears but she kept them under wraps "N-no...I'm fine, it's ok"
Darius pressed on "Brooklynn, we know you, Superstar....you can trust us...we have your back ok? I have your back."
Brooklynn couldn't hold it in anymore "I'M SORRY. I'M SORRY FOR EVERYTHING" with tears fully running down her face as she let all of her emotions out in a go.
"I'M SORRY I ABANDONED ALL OF YOU, PRETENDED TO BE DEAD FOR MONTHS, SIDED WITH OUR ENEMY, I'M SO SORRY."
"Brooklynn"
"I KNOW WHAT I DID WAS MESSED UP, EVIL, I KNOW I AM A MONSTER AND DON'T DESERVE YOUR FORGIVENESS OR KINDNESS BUT"
"Brooklynn listen-"
"I'M TRYING MY BEST TO MAKE IT UP TO YOU BUT I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE DONE AND-"
"Brooklynn STOP..." Darius practically yelled at this point "It's ok, I understand. But there is nothing to be sorry about. You were trying to protect us and while yes you did side with the Broker, it was only so we could be off her radar and safe from her clutches. You're not a monster, Brooklynn. You're human, just like us. You stumbled and had some bad times, but you got back up and look where we are now, we're back again, as a family. You don't have to apologise for anything..."
"We're just glad you're safe, B" Ben added on.
"Don't worry, we'll always stick with you. Camp Fam for life?" Yaz finished raising her hand for a fist bump to which Brooklynn responded by hugging her.
"Thanks" she said quietly as she wiped her tears and proceeded on positively during the trip. The Nublar Si-I mean, Nublar Four here at this moment were enjoying talking about the past and the good times they had, so much so that they forgot they were on a mission.
The helicopter began its descent, taking everyone by surprise before slowly hovering and landing at a helicopter point adjacent to Biosyn Valley. They have arrived.
