"Come on, big guy, I made a safe house just down this way!" Steve shouted back, diamonds falling out of his pockets and clinking against the cold cave floor.
"Y'sure about this, muchacho? These spiders ain't getting any slower!" Garret Garrison huffed, refusing to let any of Steve's loot stay on the ground for long. "I told you we shouldn't go mining this late!"
"Weren't you the one to insist-"
"Up there!" Garrison cut him off. His fingerless glove pointed through a handful of diamonds to a small opening in one of the walls. "Forget the bunker! This'll do!"
With the ksheew of the spiders in imminent pursuit, Steve and Garret shove themselves inside the small two by four hole, as Steve blocks off the entrance with his remaining cobblestone.
Garret took out his pickaxe, digging a little deeper into the hole until KLANK- the pick shattered beneath the freshly exposed andesite. "Shit."
Steve managed to give an annoyed look before the light inside the small cavern fully snuffed out.
"Don't suppose you brought any torches with those diamonds?"
The silence from Garret told Steve all he needed to know.
