Everything was quiet around camp as the night settled in, save for the crackling of the fire pit that shone brightly. Most of the survivors had already gone to bed as the next day was sure to be just as grueling as the last. Even the scientist who usually refuses to rest was asleep.
Wilson laid sprawled out from under his blanket in his tent, his mouth agape and his eye bags prominent. A soft snore emitted from him before he giggled for a moment. Normally, he'd usually have nightmares whenever he slept, but whatever his brain was showing him in his dream must've tickled him a bit.
His head slowly tilted to the side, his mouth closing into a frown for a moment. With eyes fluttering open, Wilson blearily glanced around his surroundings before his gaze settled onto a familiar face.
"There ya are! Still sleeping, nerdy nerd?" came the teasing voice.
He groaned as he narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows into a sleepy frown. "What in the name of science are you doing in my tent, Willow?" grumbled Wilson, clearly irritated from being woken up. The woman shrug exaggeratedly with a wide shit-eating grin. She looked a little off, but then again, Willow was always off.
She carried a weird scent too-
"I'm bored."
Wilson's eyes narrowed further for a moment before he rolled onto his side and closed them again, attempting to go back to sleep. He did not want to deal with her when he's sleep deprived. Willow scoffed with an "ugh!" at him for ignoring her, her hand sluggishly gripping his shoulder and shaking him. "Wilson, c'monnnn mannn!" she slurred in a whiney tone. He continued to ignore her, which bothered the woman even more.
"Fine! Be boring! You're always sooo boring!"
She huffed as her fists propped against her hips, glaring down at him for a moment. Willow then smirked as she glanced around.
Hands shot to his ribs as her fingers danced across, causing Wilson to suddenly shriek and jolt. He immediately flailed about as his hands gripped her wrists to push them away.
"S-stop-! What the heck, Willow-!?" Wilson squeaked as he glared up at her, somewhat propped up.
"You're bein' boring! I'm bored!" She whines in protest, giving him a pouty look.
He was not going to deal with her like this.
"Then sleep! That's what night time is for, right?" He shot back in somewhat of a huff, still glaring at her as he let go of her wrists. The scientist sat up fully, his arms crossed in disapproval. "You always get onto me for not sleeping!" Wilson added with a frown. Willow just looked at him stupidly, her expression mostly relaxed with a dumb smile.
"Yeah, but I can't sleep right now, nerdy dummydum" She giggled. "Besides, you're silly like this- you're so dumnums."
Wilson's brows furrowed as he took a few seconds to register her sluggish speech. His nose wrinkles a bit due to the weird scent again.
"...Did you take something?" He questioned suspiciously.
Willow giggled again, her hands raising for a moment but then they dropped back down. "I dunno, maybe."
The man facepalmed into his hands.
She's definitely on something. Great.
"Are you feeling alright?" Wilson asked, glancing to her as he rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"Are you dizzy? Nauseated?"
Willow shook her head, but it made her teeter to the side, which caused Wilson to quickly grab her shoulders to keep her from falling. He furrowed his brows again.
The pyromaniac giggled again, her arms wrapping around him under his arms. Wilson immediately unlatched her hands and pushed them back to her side.
"Let's not do that, shall we?" He stated flatly, his expression stern and slightly irritated despite the soft pink dusting across his face.
"Aw, Mr. No Touchy Grumpy Pants here-" Giggled Willow, opting to poke at his cheekbone and nose. He gently swatted her hand away.
"Can you not? You're clearly on something."
He huffed with a grumble. Wilson could not believe that out of all nights to bug him, it had to be the night he was actually trying to sleep.
"What did you take, Willow?" The scientist groaned with disdain. His eye bags seem to grow heavier.
"I dunno." She shrugged.
Wilson sighed as his shoulders slumped.
Of course it wasn't going to be that easy. This is Willow.
"Alright, well, you should sleep." The man stated wearily.
"Ugh, but sleep is boring! I wanna DO something!"
Willow protested as her hands flopped about with a huff.
Wilson shook his head with a sigh. "You can't stay here."
He replied calmly, slowly beginning to get up.
Willow whined as she yanked him back down into a sitting position. "Nuh uh! Nuh uh, no leaving!" The woman cried out, hugging his arm. "I-I'm not leaving, you are...!" Wilson protested as he unlinked his arm and stood up again.
"But your tent is nice! I want your tent- it's mine now!"
Willow whined before she flopped down onto his bed and flailed about, effectively twisting herself into his blanket.
Wilson sighed. His shoulders slumped further before he rubbed the bridge of his nose again.
"You CAN'T stay here, Willow. This is my tent-"
He paused before he yanked the blanket off her, making her roll a bit.
"-and you have your own tent!"
Willow curled up in his bed and looked up at him with a pouty expression, but Wilson wasn't having it.
"Seriously, Willow, go to bed." He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder as he frowned down at her, blanket still in his other hand. "I am in bed, dummy." She scoffed at him before she wiggled about to get comfy.
This woman was going to give him an aneurysm.
"Listen, I didn't want to do this- I still really don't want to-"
Began Wilson before he discarded the blanket and shuffled his arms under her, pulling her up into a bridal carry. Willow squeaked and giggled as she playfully smacked his shoulders.
"Yo, Wilsonnnn! C'mon, put a lady down, will ya~?"
She gleefully kicked her legs a bit as he made his way out of his tent. His frown deepened further in exhaustion.
"You're silly! Can we burn things together? Can I burn your vest?" Willow giggled as she poked his chest sluggishly.
Wilson continued regardless in silence, trying to ignore her and put her in her own tent. "Do you like fire, Wilson? Cuz I like fire. Like a lot, lots lot." She giggled as she began to ramble incoherently. The scientist sighed tiredly, pausing just outside her tent. He's never been in her tent before, much less anyone else's- Wilson was too much of a gentleman to intrude on others' privacy, especially women's. His cheeks puffed a bit as they darkened slightly.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside and made his way over to her bed, hoping to just drop her off and quickly dart back to his own tent. "Wilson! Wilsoooonnn! Silly nerd boy!"
Willow waved her hands in front of his face before she smacked him a few times, causing him to jolt and stumble back a bit. "Can you-!? Stop-!?" Wilson protested with irritation as he averted his head about to avoid getting hit, his eyes squeezed shut. "Nuh uh! I gots your attention now!"
Willow gleefully chimes with a giggle before she began pinching his cheek and nose.
"STOBP-!" he huffed through his pinched nose, stumbling the rest of his way to her bed.
The woman just giggled and kicked her feet childishly, her arms wrapping around his neck. Wilson glared down at her half-heartedly, too tired to promptly deal with her nonsense.
Willow then pulled his head toward her as her lips pressed against his cheek for a moment. The scientist, too stunned and flabbergasted, stood there in silence afterwards, his eyes wide as his face burst into a deep scarlet shade.
Without saying anything, he dropped Willow ungracefully onto her bed as she squeaked, and briskly turned around to leave. She quickly gripped his sleeve and yanked him back. "Wait, why leave!? I'm gonna be bored!"
The pyromaniac whined pitifully as she pouted.
Without looking at her, Wilson tried to speak as calmly as he could, but his words came out stammered:
"I-I-I- G-G-Goodn-night-night, W-Willow-!"
With that, he quickly shuffled his arm away from her and bolted out of her tent, running back to his own. As soon as he was inside, Wilson stood in silence and stared at the floor before his hand rubbed his cheek. His face was still flushed badly and his eyes were still wide. He could hardly breathe, it was as if he was allergic to kisses.
"Aghh...! What in the name of science-!"
Wilson groaned with a whine, burying his face into his hands. She's just on something, that's all- she definitely did not intend to do that-! Willow hated his guts, didn't she?
Why else would they bicker so much!?
Wilson never thought much on romance, never really had time or need for such a thing, and yet now he's reconsidering it-!? He didn't know what to think! Clearly, it wasn't right for him to feel this way, it was unintentional and Willow definitely did not like him like that!
He took a few breaths to even out his rampant thoughts, looking at his bed now. Wilson just needed rest, yeah, just needed to sleep this off-
The scientist quickly scrambled into his bed, leaning down to yank up his discarded blanket to fly it over himself. He could still feel his face burning as he groaned in internal misery at his thoughts and feelings.
Even if he wanted to sleep this off, it was quite obvious that Wilson wouldn't be able to.
