Chapter Text
Danny was hesitating. He knows he is but how can he not when he was about to tell his parents what their friend, that they’ve known for years, that he was… touching him inappropriately. For 5 years now. He was also going to reveal his identity to them.
He was thinking of how to bring it up to his parents. Should he just rip it off like a band aid? Should he gently talk into it? Danny doesn’t know what to do, but if he could, he will do the latter. He will try to.
Danny could see his home just around the corner, he started to slow down, thinking of what Vlad said if he told anyone what he was doing to him. He said if Danny told anyone, Vlad would kill Jazz.
Danny didn’t want that, he didn’t even want what Vlad did to him. Clockwork should have told him, not all that bullshit that he says, “All is as it should be.” Why does he keep saying that? Is it because he wanted to see this timeline come true? Or is it this one the real timeline that he had to do so he didn’t break the timeline? But why would Danny break his timeline? Would he become a second Dan? Will he bec-.
He needs to calm down, he is spiraling. Deep breath in, hold, and then slowly let it go. Repeat until calmed.
…
Oh.
…
Danny is in his front yard now.
…
Huh.
Time flies by when you are having a crisis.
Danny walked back and forth in his yard, looking to see if his parents were even home. And they are, he is starting to get a little scared now, overthinking how they would react. Will they just wave him off? Saying their dear friend Vlad did nothing? Or would they finally see that he is not as innocent as he seems? If Danny told them he was Phantom, would they shoot at him? Or will they tear him apart molecule by molecule? Would they take their time? Or will they accept him for who he is? Will they even try? Or-
…
He is spiraling again. He needs to breathe again. Deep in, hold, slowly out. Repeat until calmed. He should really stop having crises. That means he has to go inside, but… will they? Jazz knows already, just about Phantom. Not the other thing. Tucker and Sam know too, just like Jazz.
…
…
…
He should go in now.
Well here goes nothin’.
Chapter 3: Something just happened.

Just read it, you will know.

Here you go, another other one in the same day. I will be gone for a bit because I want to.

Chapter Text
Danny very slowly grabbed the front door handle, then slowly twisted to open the door. He walked in at the same pace. Trying to stay hidden, he looked around to see if his parents were around. When he sees that they aren’t where he can see them, they might be in the basement, he scurries up the stairs, down the hall, and into his room. He takes a deep breath again.
“I am okay, I am going to be alright. I will be.” Danny says to himself, trying to believe what he is telling himself. He really does want it to be okay, he hopes it will be. He needs a weighted blanket. The 14 pound one.
He goes to his closet and looks for it, it is on the floor of the closet. Danny pulls it out and drapes it over his shoulders and shuffles over to his bed. Once he is over to it he face plants on the bed then curls into a ball under his weighted blanket, relaxing under it. He stays like the blanket for a few moments before he hears a knock on his bedroom door.
“Little brother, are you alright?” Jazz's voice comes through, sounding concerned, but light. Like she always does when he comes home like this.
“I am fine.” Danny calls out from under the weighted blanket, not at all sounding fine, as his voice is a little unsteady.
“Are you sure? May I come in, please little brother?” Jazz asks, catching the small waver in his voice, she is now sounding more softer and concerned.
After a little bit Danny answers, “I am not sure, Jazz. Please come in.” His voice sounds so small and vulnerable. It sounds so lost.
Jazz walks into his room immediately, finding Danny under his blanket, as if he is hiding from something. Danny heard her come closer and closer, then he felt a hand on his shoulder, he involuntarily flinched away. Jazz’s hand stayed like nothing happened, as she is used to it, thinking it is from his fights as Phantom. Most of it is.
“Little brother? Want to come out?” Jazz asks gently, almost motherly. Danny thought about it for a moment before slowly getting out from under the weighted blanket. He keeps the blanket on his shoulders, looking at Jazz with uncertainty. He looks like he wants to say something but keeps hesitating, looking for his words. Jazz waits until he can talk.
“I… I need to talk with you, and our parents.” Danny mumbles out, sounding a little scared. Jazz’s eyes soften and she nods, letting Danny think if he needs to say more. “It is… about me being Phantom. And another thing.” Danny continues, more confidently.
“Another thing? What is it, little brother?” Jazz asks gently but firmly, eyes hardening. “Do you want me to set up our escape plans?” She asks, keeping her tone gently, like they are talking about the weather.
“I would like to talk with our parents about it with you, please? And please do get the plans ready, just in case.” Danny asks hopefully, not wanting to be stuck when they do start shooting. Jazz nods and opens her arms up for a hug.
“You look like you need one, little brother.” She says with a warm smile. Danny dives into her arms and hugs her as tightly as he dares. Not wanting to hurt her at all. Even if she is starting to show abnormal signs of being ecto contaminated, and he isn’t taking any chances. Jazz’s squeezes Danny for a few moments, then let’s go. Danny also let’s go, but after lingering in her arms for a bit.
They play games to lighten the mood and pass time, waiting for dinner and for Danny to dump his 2 biggest secrets, hoping to still have his family after.
At dinner
Danny walked down to the kitchen, going slowly to stall for time. Jazz was walking next to him, acting as his anchor as they walked. Jazz on his shoulder for comfort as they walk closer and closer to their parents, and the talk. As they get closer to the kitchen, they hear their parents fighting the food that came to life, again. Why can’t get a deep freezer to keep the ectoplasm in? And not keep it in the fridge?
Danny takes a seat at the table, Jazz follows right after he does, sitting next to him. Danny takes a deep breath and fights his food so he can eat. He gets some cuts and the hotdogs throw the silverware at him, Danny dodges and uses his knife to cut them in half, then keep chopping, then eat.
“Mom, dad, and Jazz I need to talk with you all.” Danny says as he finishes swallowing the now re-dead hotdogs, feeling a little sick. Jack and Maddie stop talking to each other about their new weapon to get rid of Phantom.
“What is it, Danno-boy!” Jack asks happily, unaware of what Danny is about to say. Danny looks a little nervous, but he took a deep breath.
“What if I told you I was Phantom, what would you do?” Danny asked like it was a hypothetical question, trying to see if they would take the bait.
“Well, I would help take that… thing,” She spat out, but continued. “Out of you and let you rest in peace.” Maddie said matter-a-factly. Danny froze a little, but then looked at his dad.
“I would not know what to do with myself if I found out you were dead. But, can we know why you are asking that question?” Jack asked back, sounding a little quiet, rather than his normal booming voice.
Danny took a deep breath again, then looked them both in the eyes for a few moments. “What if I said that Vlad was… touching me… inappropriately?” Danny asked instead. Making everyone stop dead in their tracks, even the hotdogs, they all turned their heads to him slowly, Jazz looked horrified, Jack protective rage, and Maddie just looked at him like HE did something wrong.
“Vlad would never do that, Daniel.” Maddie spat at him, like Vlad was something that needed to be protected. Danny looked her dead in the eyes and just said:
“He did, he HAS been. For five years now, mom.” Danny said coldly, but there was a slight tremor in it. Jack stood, making his chair scrape then fall down. Everyone jumped, even the hotdogs jumped, they looked like they wanted to leave, some looked like they wanted to vomit while others were backing up.
“Danny, what are you saying?” Jack said, sounding hurt, then realization washes over his face. “Is that why you asked to keep him away? Because of… because of what he was doing to you?” Jack asked, gently but firmly.
Danny nodded, having lost his voice at Jack’s strong reaction. Jack looked Danny in the eyes. Looking for anything, but finding nothing he was looking for. “Your Phantom, aren’t you?” Jack asked.
Before Danny could talk, Maddie cut in. “Of course he’s not Jack, he is alive and lying about what Vlad did.” She spat out, looking at Danny with so much hatred that Danny flinched away. Jazz stood in front of Danny, hiding him behind her own body.
“Mom! What are you doing!? He told you the truth!” Jazz yelled at Maddie, looking at her like she went crazy. Maddie took offence to that and raised her hand to slap Jazz across the face.
“How dare you yell at your moth-” Before she could do anything, Jack grabbed her hand, stopping her attack. Jazz is wide eyed, looking at Maddie with fear.
“Danny held onto Jazzes shirt, watching with fear filled eyes as Jack pushed Maddie back and away from the kids.
“Don’t hit my kids!” Jack yelled with fatherly protective rage, making Maddie stumble back more from the now very angry Jack. Maddie’s face contorts with fear and anger, before she stomps out of the house to who knows where. Jack took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but it did not work. He heads to the door after grabbing the Anti-Creep Stick™ in his hand.
“Dad? W-where are you going? Why are you taking the Anti-Creep Stick™ with you?” Danny asked, watching as Jack walked to the door, face unreadable.
“Danny, stay here with your sister.” He said coldly, Danny flinched at it but nodded. Jazz looked down at Danny, then back at the hotdogs that watched the whole thing go down. She took a deep breath, then slowly let it out.
“Can we finish eating now?” She asked the hotdogs, who just nodded and let Danny and Jazz eat them. They ate in silence, the T.V on the news channel. After about 15 ish minutes, they heard something… familiar. They look over and-
“WHY IS DAD BEATING VLAD WITH THE ANTI-CREEP STICK™??!!” Danny yelled at the top of his lungs.
Notes:
I got lost in my thought on this one, hope you like the longer ones, they all wont be like this, some will be smaller or longer, really depends on how much motivation I have.
Chapter Text
Danny was told to stay at home while Jazz goes to where Vlad was getting his ass beat. He stayed on the couch, video taping it because he can, waiting for Jazz to try and stop his dad from beating Vlad to his second death, even if Jack does not even know that. Yet.
Jack was just screaming things like, “You r@ped my son! What gave you the right to do that!!” And things like, “I thought you were my friend! How could you betray me like this?!” Jack went on and on about that. Saying it over and over again while beating Vlads face in. And after a few minutes, the police came and tried to get Jack of Vlad.
They tried their best but Jack was too strong, he could not be taken off of Vlad. Though, they were barely even tried, as everyone believes Jack, even without any evidence. Everyone saw how the Fenton kid changed 5 years ago, then changed again 2 years ago. Then people started seeing Jazz’s little dot in the distance.
“DAD! STOP IT!” Jazz's voice could be heard a few 100 feet away, which somehow got Jack to go harder and harder on Vlad. Not letting him get up or even move as he continued his beat down.
Jazz kept yelling, getting closer and closer, her voice getting louder and she closed the distance between them. She stood in front of him, then just yelled at the top of her lungs. “STOP, NOW!!” Her voice booming over everything, making Jack finally stop. Though he does not look guilty, not one bit. He looked at his only daughter, and just stared into her eyes. After a few tense seconds, he got up with a nod.
Jack was put into the back of a police car with more force than necessary and driven to the station to be questioned, while Vlad was driven to a hospital to be treated and healed to the best of the ability of the staff.
BACK AT HOME
Maddie opened the door, finding Danny on the couch watching the news, his phone is away now. She looked at the screen and saw Jack being up into the back of a police car, then what she saw next made her blood run cold as Vlad was rushed to the hospital.
She turned to Danny with just pure hatred, knowing that Phantom is possessing her poor boy and won't let him rest in peace. She aimed her anti-ecto gun at him and got ready to shoot, but Danny saw and just… ran. Ran passed her, shoving her out of the way. Ran out of the house, and just kept running. To where? Who knows. But he just kept running.
Danny had no idea where he was going, but he just followed the pull of his core that was leading him to safety. Then he heard a shot fire, then just pain in his right thigh. His mother just shot him. In. The. Fucking. Thigh. He grunted in pain but kept going, as if, if he stopped he would be no more.
Danny was out of breath as he came around a corner, blood running down his leg, it almost looked like he was going to die a second time. “Dad!” He sounded like he was about to cry. He took a pained gasp, his vision blurring some at the edges.
Jack looked surprised to see Danny, and Jazz looked just as shocked, then she gently said, “Danny! What happened!?” Jack yelled as he asked, concerned for his youngest. Jazz ran to his side, letting him lean on to her. And he did, heavily, too weak to hold himself up anymore.
“Mom, she shot me. She might have followed me.” Danny says weakly, blood still coming out of his leg. He started swaying a little, back and forth, even with Jazz trying to hold him steady. People ran to him to help, but he was loosening his consciousness. He was barely able to hear. Then another shot rings out, this time his left arm got hit, he screamed his pain as this time, it was just burning. Almost like Blood Blossoms.
“Frostbite, please.” Danny managed to get out before passing out, unable to bear the pain. The last thing he saw was Jazz looking terrified with tears in her eyes, then nothing. Everything went black.

Chapter Text
After they arrive at the Far Frozen, Jack looking shocked, Jazz is carrying an unconscious Danny, and she is hurrying to get Danny to Frostbite.
“Frostbite! Help!” Jazz screams at the top of her lungs, causing the Yeti’s to spring into action, they swoop the Fenton’s(Never Maddie) to Chief Frostbite.
Frostbite rushes over and gently but quickly takes Danny from Jazz’s arms. “I will hurry my dear, please wait.” He turns to leave but Jack blocks his path.
“Where are you taking my son? Will he be alright? Will he be safe? I am coming with you.” Jack spits fire, looking deep into the Yeti’s eyes. Frostbite just nods along, stepping past the worried father.
“I am taking the great one to my cave. He will be better then alright. Yes he will be safe. You are along to sit out of the operating room(OR).” Frostbite rushes to reply, moving as fast as he can to his OR in his medical cave, but not trying to jostle Danny too much, trying not to let more blood ooze out of his wounds.
Jack follows the Yeti closely, watching him handle his baby. Jazz follows closely behind Jack.
The entrance to Frostbite cave comes into view, “Get the OR ready for the Great One!!” Frostbite yells to his workers. And they do so quickly, moving as fast they can, as they don’t have. Much. Time.
One of the Yeti’s, Nova, sterile’s the OR, moving quickly. She sets up everything Chief Frostbite might need for the Great One.
Frostbite places Danny on the operating table, looking him over. Quickly noticing the Blood Blossoms in Danny’s left arm, with the bullet still in his arm, and still releasing those deadly flowers. “Everyone, CODE BB!” Frostbite yells.
Code BB, means Blood Blossoms are in the area, and everyone needs to wear protective gear. Blood Blossoms can be airborne, with a 80% success rate. And can be spread through touch, with a 88% success rate. It spreads through the body slowly, and it is painful. Very, very painful. If not treated, it will take 3 months on average before a ghost disappears for good. And at the rate the Blood Blossoms are spreading through Danny, it will take no less than 4 weeks to fully be killed and make Danny disappear permanently, if left untreated.
The Yeti’s quickly put on their protective gear, then just get to working on Danny, getting the Blood Blossom bullet fragments out of his left arm, and just in time, as the Blood Blossom has started to slowly move to his core.
If the Blood Blossoms moves to the core, it feeds off the ectoplasm to keep alive, to keep eating. The pain from that is almost torture- no IS torture. The Blood Blossoms surround the core, in a tight circle. It feels like 12 elephants are standing on the fragile core.
Frostbite feels the worst sadness for the Great One, as he gently and slowly takes the bullet out of Danny’s left upper arm. When it comes out, Frostbite quickly puts it into an air tight box, then hands it off to Nova. Who carefully takes it to the holding cell for the Blood Blossoms to be secure.
Frostbite gives Danny a shot of the antidote, then as fast as he can, begins to stitch the wound up, while the other Yeti’s works on Danny’s right thigh gun shot. And they are lucky it missed the arteries.
With Jazz and Jack:
Jack was pacing back and forth, clearly worried. Jazz was sitting on the chairs nearby, watching her dad pace like a caged animal. Jack groans and moves to sit next to his daughter, leaning back to stare at the ceiling, lost in thought. Jazz stares at the floor, not able to get the image of her baby brother’s hurt and unconscious form out of her head.
When the operating room door opens, both Jack and Jazz stand up, fully aware now. “Is my son okay?” Jack frantically asks. Jazz waiting for Frostbite to answer.
“The Great One is stable now, but I need permission to run some tests, may I?” Frostbite asks calmly. Watching them both relax. “It is to see if the Great One will need medicine, as to see how far the Blood Blossoms have gone in his system.” He explains professionally. Waiting for their responses.
“Yes. Please, we want Danny to be healthy.” Jazz answers fast, as soon as Frostbite finishes talking. Jack pauses, then just nods, agreeing with the tests.
Frostbite nods and disappears into the operating room again to take Danny’s blood for tests. After about 4-ish minutes, Frostbite comes out with two six syringes of Danny’s blood, then walks past Jack and Jazz with a small nod, to the testing room.
5 hours later:
Frostbite walks over to Jack, Jazz sleeping on him. He looks troubled. “Great Ones father, have you seen the Great One acting strange?” Frostbite asks, watching Jack's face shift to confusion, then deep thought.
“Yes… in the past month he has been getting more sick after eating. Why?” Jack slowly begins, worry creeping in his eyes, a tight feeling bubbling up in his chest. He carefully shifts Jazz off to stand up. Fear creeping in now as the large Yeti hesitates to answer.
“We… found something important. Please wake your daughter, she needs to know this too.” Frostbite states, starting slowly, watching Jack turn serious.
“Jazzy-pants, wakey wakey.” Jack gently wakes Jazz up, watching her slowly come to. She sits up, looking around, then snap fully awake. Standing up so fast that she becomes dizzy.
Frostbite and Jack quickly move to steady her, waiting until she can stand all by herself. Jazz nods to signal that she is fine, not needing help anymore, after a few seconds. “What is it? Is Danny alright?” Jazz asks, worried for her little brother at the faces both Frostbite and her dad are making, well, more so just Frostbite’s face.
“The tests came back, and the Great One needs to stay a little longer to get the rest of the Blood Blossoms out of his system, but…” Frostbite hesitates to finish, clearly not wanting to believe what he found.
“What did you find Frostbite?” Jazz whispers, desperate to know. Jack was standing there, waiting with a look that was unreadable. Which was unusual, as he always shows his emotions. That makes Jazz even more desperate to know what Frostbite found.
Frostbite takes a deep breath, then slowly and shakily lets it out, even if he doesn’t need to, then he starts talking. “We found out the Great One is pregnant with twins, he has been for 2 and a half months. We believe Vlad Masters is the father, with everything that has happened.” Frostbite tries to keep the rage from his voice, he almost did, but some bled through.
Both Jazz and Jack just freeze, processing what was just said, along with any nearby Yeti workers. Then Jazz slowly takes a deep breath, “VLAD DID WHAT!?!?” Jazz just screams in rage, startling everyone as she is normally always calm.
Jack gently reaches over to her and places a hand on her shoulder, almost calming her.
But rage can’t calm rage. It can only make it stronger. And it won’t calm until the thing that triggered that rage is dead, gone, or just broken. Unable to move, eat, sleep, even blink without seeing their faces. Bloody, broken, unrecognizable.
Frostbite forces himself to calm down. “Don’t do something you’ll regret in the future.” He states. Calmly, and he is able to calm the protective family.
“Is my baby really pregnant?” Jack whispers, sounding weak, thinking he could not protect his youngest, like he is the weakest person alive. The most worthless father in the world, unable to protect from the monsters that lurk this world.
“Dad, you did your best. You didn’t know, I didn’t know, Tucker and Sam still don’t know.” Jazz whispers. Hoping to get her dad out of the mind space he is in right now.
Frostbite gently guides Jack to sit down. Jazz helping. Frostbite puts a cold rag on the back of Jack’s neck, hoping to ground him. And it works, Jazz holds her fathers hand, gently squeezing to ground him more.
A Yeti frantically runs over, which worries the other three. “Nova, is something wrong?” Frostbite asks, looking her over.
“The Great One is awake!” She frantically says, which again, makes the other three more worried. Jack stands up fast and walks over to Nova, making her face him.
“Is my baby okay? Is he safe?” Jack asks like a scared father worried for his child. Nova nods, agreeing with him, unable to speak for a moment.
Frostbite gently takes Jack’s hands off his worker. “Let’s go see the young Great One. Yes?” Frostbite says. And the family nods, quickly moving to where Danny is.
Jack looks hopeful, and a little scared for Danny.
Jazz looks ready for anything that might be thrown at them again.
Frostbite gets back into his professional state, ready to spill what Danny is now carrying.
Nova just looks scared, but clearly wants to help, even if she is new.
The door to Danny’s room is like a very long walk through a never ending hall, the anxiety rising with each step they take. Jazz takes her fathers hand, squeezing tightly, trying to keep her emotions from rising too much. Jack gently squeezes back, a little surprised by the strength his daughter has, and very impressed.
Frostbite notices, but says nothing, just walking straight and confidently. Nova walking behind him less so, clearly not knowing what to do, but desperate to help.
They finally reach the door and slowly walk in, seeing Danny just happily talk to one of the interns about space, specifically supernovas.
Danny’s head snaps to them, and just gives his signature lop sided grin. “Dad! Jazz! These people are very nice and warm!” He happily says, clearly unaware about what will happen in the very near future.
“Well, time to break his happy spirit.” I say to myself.
Notes:
The reason the blood resalts did not take days, is because Frostbite prioritized Danny's Blood.
Hope you like this!
Six pages long this one!

Chapter Text
Jack smiles at his son, not wanting to break his son even more with this. Jazz watches, not knowing what to do. She sighs and moves closer to Danny, placing a hand on his shoulder with a sad smile. Danny looks at his sister, noticing her sadness.
“Are you okay Jazz?” Danny asks, his grin fading with worry for his sister. He reaches for her hand on his shoulder, taking it into his own.
“I am, promise. Though, Frostbite has something to say… and it’s not anything good.” She whispers, looking to her dad for help on this matter.
Jack takes a very deep breath, and lets it out slowly. Nodding along with his daughter. Frostbite walks over with his clipboard, adjusting his glasses. Danny fidgets with his hands, waiting. Hoping they didn’t find out about this thing.
“Ahem, so. We got the Blood Blossoms out of your system. But we found something… disturbing. We would like to talk about it with you.” Frostbite flips through the papers on his clipboard. Looking over everything to make sure he is right, so he spreads no misinformation.
“I know I’m pregnant. I’ve known since the beginning.” Danny confesses, hiding his face out of shame and embarrassment. Not wanting to be in trouble, he is close to tears as he watches everyone's faces turn from sadness to shock.
“What do you mean?” Jack asks, his face pale, making Danny look at him, gently putting his hands down and cupping Danny’s face, wiping his tears away before they even fall.
“Please tell me why you did not tell us!” Jazz yells her question, desperation in her eyes. She gently squeezes his hand, not wanting to hurt him further then he already has. Danny squeezes back.
“Dani and Dan were captured by the GIW, they got tortured until they retreated into their cores. I was too late to save them! So I took their cores and started housing them, so they can start growing like normal kids! I want them to live normally and not in this hell hole of a town. I want to give Dani the childhood she never got. I want to give Dan a better one.” Danny explains, talking without taking a breather. Making the others worry about him. All not really knowing he does not have to breathe for a while. But as he is still half human, all it takes is half the human needs.
“Danny! DANNY! Calm down! It is okay! You are okay.” Jack tried to calm his baby. Pulling him into a hug, as he does not have Danny’s weighted blanket. He uses his weight to act like the blanket, which slowly starts working. Danny’s breath coming in more even and more smoothly.
Danny slowly melts into his fathers embrace, calming down. He looks at his sister and doctor.
“Great one, has Vlad, “ Frostbite spits with so much venom, but continues, “ever… finish in you?” He tries to move gently, trying not to retraumatize the young fourteen year old.
Danny tenses, then answers just as tensely, “... Yes. Why?” He asks, clearly not wanting to hear what the chief Yeti is about to say.
“Because… you might share that monster’s children, if after you took on Dani and Dan’s cores, that monster… touched you and, ugh, finished in you with the cores. That would mean you are now sharing his children.” Frostbite just rips the bandage off, not wanting to keep this information away from the young child and his family.
“ What? ” Jack, ever the lovely man, says so coldly, even the Yeti’s shiver. Some almost feeling bad for Vlad. Almost.
Danny looks… hurt, sad, but most of all, self-hatred. Jazz quickly pulls Danny out of her fathers hold, and into hers. She carefully runs her fingers through his hair.
“It is alright Danny, you didn’t know. Didn’t know this would happen, no one knew.” Jazz gently says, keeping Danny in her hold.
“We need to go back. We need to leave, now.” Jack says, quickly gathering his children and walks back to the portal.
“I will guide you all back.” Frostbite offers, but not really, walking with them. Handing Jazz the Great One’s medicine. She takes it, and looks into the bag. It is just the medicine to keep the babies healthy and strong, along with the holder of the baby.
Back at the mortal world, FentonWorks:
Jack carefully looks around the house, finding divorce papers on the kitchen table, and a note that reads:
“ You can keep those monsters you call your children, I never want to see you or those pretenders, I will rid you of the brainwash that ‘Phantom’ has done to my family. I will rid him of our baby boy, and let him rest in peace.
-Maddie”
Jack’s eyes narrow, then just rip the letter apart, signing the divorce papers without any sadness or regret. Only cold fury.
“Dad, I am going to go pack. Can you help me?” Danny asks hesitantly, looking a little embarrassed, his head down. Playing with the hem of his shirt.
“Of course, go ahead and go. I will come up in a little bit.” Jack speaks soothingly. Nodding at Jazz when she comes down to pack up the kitchen.
After a little bit, Jack moves to Danny’s room to help. He knocks on the doorframe, walking in when Danny says he can. They work in comfortable silence, Jack getting the rockets hanging from the ceiling, and the glowing stars.
“Dad, do you think I will be a good father to them?” Danny whispers, pausing in the packing, his left hand on his lower stomach. Fear can be seen in his eyes as he looks up to his fathers.
Jack pauses, slightly tense at the question from out of the blue. “Danno, I know you will try to be the best, but you can’t be perfect in parenthood. There will be challenges and bumps and twists. But, if you try, that is all that you need to be a good parent to them. I promise, I just ask you to keep trying, ask for help when needed, and never give up. Protect your kids with your life.” Jack speaks with the wisdom of a tired but loving father. Facing Danny with a warm smile.
Danny nods along, then slowly starts packing again. Deep in thought.
Jazz comes up the stairs, “Dad, I finished packing the kitchen, I will start on my room now, can you do the living room?” Jazz says as she passes Danny’s room.
Jack looks at Danny, who just nods for him to go. Jack nods back and goes to pack up the living room, the basement, the dining room, the outside things. Danny helps here and there, but Jack gently and carefully makes sure Danny does not over do it. As he needs more rest then normal.
After everything is packed and on the moving truck:
Danny wipes the sweat off his forehead, walking to sit next to Jazz in the moving truck, noticing that he might need to sit on the floor board. He shrugs and moves to do so.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Jazz says, popping out of nowhere, startling Danny. He whips around, rubbing his right arm.
“I was going to sit on the floorboard, because mo- Maddie took the car. And GAV.” Danny mumbles, kicking at the dirt, looking away. Not making eye contact.
“That is my spot, Danny. You get the seat. You need to be comfortable, and well rested. That means no sitting on the floorboard.” Jazz says sternly, already moving to sit on the floor of the moving truck. Danny moves to stop her, but she gives him ‘The Stare’ she has.
Danny sighs and just gives up, moving to the seat. Then just melt into it, too comfortable to move. Almost falling asleep.
“Danno, need a pillow and blanket?” Jack opens the driver's side door, looking at his son with fatherly love, and Jazz with worry.
“Yes, please.” Danny answers fast, then hides his face in his hands in embarrassment. Jack chuckles and moves to get his son the blanket and pillow. Coming back not even 5 minutes later to hand them to Danny.
Danny takes them and wraps the blanket around him, realizing it is his weighted blanket, he melts more into the seat, then sets the pillow on his lower back. Jazz giggles softly as she watches her brother relax fully, it has been way too long for him not to. Jack’s eyes soften as he starts up the moving truck.
“I have been looking at places with ambient ecto, but as I continue to look, only one other city has enough for you both to survive.” Jack talks slowly and he drives away. Keeping his eyes on the road.
“What is it?” Jazz asks skeptically, side eyeing her dad. Danny doing the same, but less noticeable.
“It is Gotham, please don’t look at me like that.” Both Danny and Jazz are staring at their father. Both just blank stares.
“Gotham? Really? Dad, you do know that Amity Park has ghosts, and we have seen everything, and experienced many things. Hell, Danny was the one to fight them all. He has the scars to prove that.” Jazz deadpans.
“Hey, it is really the only city that will keep you and Danny, who is carrying twins, healthy. No other city has the amount Amity does. Not even Gotham, it barely has enough to even keep you both from looking too sickly. Hell, I know that I also rely on the ecto in the air. How do you think I am this buff?” Jack says as he drives out of the city limits and onto the interstate. He drives for a while in silence as his kids just stare at him, waiting for more of the story to be told. But nothing else comes out of his mouth.
“Well, are you going to keep talking dad? Is there more you are going to say?” Danny tries to pry for more information. Jazz is also trying with puppy eyes.
TIME OUT.
Chapter 7: New things, and field trip!
Summary:
In car, review things, leave, family time. 👍😐
I don't know what else to say.
Notes:
Have fun, be sad, do anything. Be free from this hell hole we call Earth.
If you say anything about the background of them all, just know I really tried. I promise I did. Though Danny's was hard to even try to begin.
And, on another note, if the people you surround yourself with don't try for you, leave and find someone new to be friends with, or date, of just distance yourself from family that don't try for you. You are very much worth it, and don't think other wise. Please. You deserve to be happy for yourself and no one else.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Jack startles as everything and everyone freezes, nothing moving, even his children are frozen in time. He looks around, realizing that he is the only other thing that is not frozen in time, like the very concept of time, Clockwork. Jack stares at the man’s shifting form from old man, middle aged, teenager, kid, toddler, baby, then starting all over again.
“If you are to move to Gotham, you need new identities.” Clockwork says calmly, like how only the Ancient being of time can do. Jack continues to stare at him, so Clockwork sighs and unfreezes Danny.
Danny looks around before spotting that time is frozen, then looks right at Clockwork. “Why is time frozen? And why is dad not frozen?” Danny asks very tiredly.
“I am here to give you your new identities, I picked Nightingale as your last name. I hope you don’t mind.” Clockwork switches to a kid, his voice high pitched. Jack opens his mouth, then closes it, then opens it again. This happens for a few moments, both Clockwork and Danny wait patiently for him to find his voice.
“Who’s this?” Jack finally gets out, though it is barely above a whisper. He tries to comprehend this being that represents TIME IT’S SELF, and is clearly having trouble doing so. Danny sighs and looks Clockwork in the eyes.
“You are giving my dad whiplash with your changing form, can you not do that for a little bit, please.” Danny asks as nicely as he can, as he does not want to fight his ghost parent for his living one. Clockwork nods and stays on the middle aged form, trying to be humble, and still getting respect he deserves.
“I am Clockwork, to answer your question. Here, these are your new papers, and don’t worry about the past you, as I have gotten rid of them. Let’s just say… they never existed.” Clockwork says in his usual cryptid way. Danny grabs the large binder for the them all, looking over his new identity, and yep, the rape is still THERE.
“Gee, thanks for keeping my trauma as is. And time time of how long it went on for. Real nice of you.” Danny is really sarcastic, but honestly, he can’t get rid of this in a day, or get rid of everything that happened to him. All the fights, his death, Vlad. His mom shooting him with the one other thing that can kill him fully, and make him stop Being. All his scars, both physically and mentally. That all can’t go away in one night, no, it will take months- hell years even.
Think of it as that one song by Eminem, Not Afraid. (My favorite song from him)
Anyway, Danny nods in thanks, “Dad, apparently you worked at Star Labs, then had to move with your kids, us, to Gotham because your great grandma died and gave everything to you, even the paid off home with 4 baths, 6 rooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms, and a couple of random closets and storage rooms. Your great grandma died at 126 because she was a metahuman with healing abilities, so that can explain your strength, my things, and Jazz’s stuff.” Danny summarizes for his dad. Trying to keep short and simple, giving the important information first. Waving bye at Clockwork as he starts to leave.
Time In.
Jazz looks at Danny as he did not have those three(3) very big and very thick binders of papers. Danny just smiles sheepishly at her. “Clockwork gave us new identities, here yours.” He hands his sister hers, so she can read it over, and study it.
Jack quickly focuses on the road, getting back in the lines, trying to drive normally, not like back in Amity, chasing the ghosts around the town, trying to catch them, to experiment on them, on his son, because of those STUPID FUCKING LAWS. Jack takes a deep breath, calming down.
Danny and Jazz watch him, like they are waiting for something, and doesn’t that hurt more than being shot in the shin with a BB gun over and over again. Jazz ever slowly reaches over to him and rests her hand on his forearm gently. “Dad, are you alright?” She sounds like she is talking to a frightened animal.
“I am fine Jazz, just thinking.” Jack keeps his voice steady, turning to the fastest lane in the interstate, to get to the first fast-food place to get his pregnant son and, he can very much tell, very hungry daughter some food to eat, as they have not eaten in more than 10 hours, if you count the barely eaten dinner any of them had.
As if on cue, Danny’s stomach growls in hunger, and poor Danny tries to hide his face in his hands and the pillow at the same time. Jazz chuckles at Danny’s reaction, then her stomach growls, a little louder and just a pinch deeper then Danny’s hungry growl. Jack smiles warmly at his children, loving them deeply, but words can’t describe how terrible he feels for HUNTING DOWN HIS SON! WHO IS CARRYING BABIES!! TO EXPERIMENT ON HIM FOR A GODDAMN GOVERNMENT AFRAID OF EVERYTHING!
Jack’s stomach growls, the most loudest and most deepest growl any of them ever heard come from him. Jazz is slightly startled and very shocked, Danny on the other hand, just bursts out laughing. The sound of his laughter just sends joy through the other two's hearts. Jack melting at the sound while Jazz smiles gently at her brother, she slowly joins in with her own laughter, creating a beautiful scene in the truck.
Danny takes a breather, leaning back into the very comfy seat, weighted blanket around, pillow on his left side leaning on it, legs in the seat with him so Jazz can have more space on the very cramped floor broad of the moving truck.
Jazz puts her head on the edge of his seat, rest her head while shrill giggling a little bit, he plays with her hair absentmindedly, doing little braids and buns, just enjoying the feeling of her hair in his fingers, how soft it is, how familiar it is. Even if it reminds him of m- Maddie.
Jack reaches over and rests his hand on Danny’s upper arm gently, keeping him grounded, well, as much as he can for his son. He rubs little circles into Danny’s arm, trying to just keep him grounded for a little longer.
Danny slowly but surely comes back, blinking, then smiles softly, “Jazz, have I ever told you that your hair feels like the clouds?” He says with a slight prep in his speech pattern, causing the other two to breathe a small sigh of relief.
“No, you haven’t little brother, but why are you saying that now?” Jazz is slightly confused, and it can be heard in her voice as she talks, her head tilted to the side. Danny shrugs in a ‘I don’t really know why’ since, and just goes back to playing with her hair. He keeps his dads hand on his upper arm though.
Jack takes that as a win, for him and for Danny. They go back into talking and joking with each other.
After about an hour
They just non stopped talking and telling jokes at each other, they pull off the interstate and into a little diner. Jack gets out first and walks over to the passengers side, seeing as Jazz gets out first and starts stretching, he then helps Danny out, who huffs and rolls his eyes but accepts the help.
“Just because I have babies growing in me does not mean I need help all the time dad.” He huffs out, still holding his dads hand while getting out the moving truck, hopping the last step. Jazz raises an eyebrow at that but doesn’t comment on it. Jack just chuckles, gently ruffling his hair with fatherly love.
“Let’s just go eat before we all pass out. How's that sound?” Jack suggests, already moving to the little diner’s entrance. The three of them walk into it. Quickly following Danny’s lead as he moves to sit where he can see all exits easily, and where he is almost hidden, but not really.
They look over the menu and each pick the normal things like waffles and pancakes, even muffins. And they just whisper about mundane things. They eat in comfortable silence for a while before they all get to studying their new identities. Danny reads with an intense energy, looking everything over carefully, because he will be damned if he messes up this time.
“Oh hey, looks like Clockwork is allowing me to still pursue psychology.” Jazz says quietly but enthusiastically, causing both Danny and Jack to smile warmly at her, nodding along.
Jack looks over his portfolio, pausing when he sees that he will work for Wayne Enterprise, under the mechanic division. He stares for a moment, they start reading the rest. Apparently he starts next Monday, as Jack H. Nightingale, taking care of his two kids after divorce that left him with nothing but the things he bought with his own money, and around $4,000 in the bank. His great grandma on his fathers side had healing abilities from being a metahuman that he got, to explain why some of his hair is pure white and why he is very strong, then passed onto his kids. His father died right after he was born from a heart attack and was raised by his mother until he was 18 when she kicked him out for looking too much like his father. He met Maddie when he was 23 and they got married 5 months later when she was pregnant with Jazz.
Jazz reads her and finds that she is just starting to get her GED so she can start working on getting her psychology license to help get more money into the family. Her new name is Jasmine G. Nightingale. She never had a good relationship with her mother, and also went to Jack for help with things, she was the number one in all her classes. She helped the ones in her classes who were struggling with getting the information in their brains. She has $328 in her bank account for tutoring them, though she also used that money to get the kids with money trouble, food, and small things they might need. She cares for her family, she is loyal to them. She will kill for them if it comes down to it, and she will defend them with her life. She is very smart, smarter than many adults, she has a small streak of pure white hair too.
Danny still has all his trauma, though it says that his metahuman gene got activated when he was, and you won’t believe this, electrocuted. Half to death. He new is Danny J. Nightingale. He was still a ‘hero’ so his scars and why half his hair is pure white can be explained. He got hit the hardest with the gene. He still likes the stars, that is a given. He was in the astronomy club, the founder really. He helped when he could. He is just like Jazz when it comes to family. (That is all I can come up with right now, sorry 😭)
“Well, it says nothing about my powers, guess I can just keep them as is.” Danny comments absentmindedly, to no one in particular. He takes a bit out of his chocolate pancakes with a shrug.
“Little brother, let me see.” She reaches for his binder, and he lets her, pushing it to her. She looks it over, noticing that it is way smaller than hers. Her eyes narrow, likely thinking the author is very lazy. She takes her dads and looks that one over. “How is yours shorter than mine and dads?” She is very confused.
“The author probably couldn’t think of anything else to add.” Danny shrugs, the other two just shrug with him. Jazz hands their binders back, and they take them back carefully, as their important papers are still in the binders.
The three of them eat, going back in that comfortable silence they came in with. After a little while they finish eating and move to pay before leaving the little diner. Jack stands up and walks to the front, while Jazz and Danny stay back to gather the dirty plates and cups into an easy to grab and go stack. Jack comes back to see his children getting out of the booth and getting ready to leave.
“Ready?” He asks his kids, looking them up and down, waiting. They both nod and start walking out, Danny going right back to the seat and Jazz the floorboard. Jack to the divers seat, get the truck ready, and start driving away, with everything they need.
They stop a few more times to use the bathroom, get snacks, and drinks, to refile the truck with gas. Danny fell asleep half way to Gotham, Jazz falling soon after, listening to the radio. The drive is around 13 hours and a half. Though it takes more than that, like 17 hours so Jack can get some sleep. Even if only 4.
After a while, they finally see the withered and messed with sign of. “Welcome to Gotham.” There's a little frowny face next to it.
They look at each other, though both Jack and Jazz notice that Danny is a little pale, already showing signs of the low ecto in the air, making him look more weak than he really is, and he just looks like he is walking dead(HA!) on his feet with how tired he looks.
Jazz looks slightly concerned for her little brother, though she knew this would happen, then she gets a look at her hand, and holy shit, it is as pale as Danny is, which means… She is as pale as her brother. She quickly looks at her dad, and yep. He is also very pale, and his muscles look slightly smaller, though no one else would know if you were a stranger, but she was raised by him, she can tell.
Jack ever so slowly starts looking like how tired Danny is, so does Jazz, though they all feel fine, could be better, but fine. Jack drives into Gotham, unaware of what all will happen with just the three of them entering the city.
As soon as they pass into the city limits, a shadowy figure appears in front of the truck, making Jack small on the breaks, but nothing happens. Everything goes black before a slimmer of light cuts through the darkness, then slowly grows brighter.
They appear in front of a beautiful woman, covered in shadows like a cloak, the shadows fall to the floor- or abyss? Void? No floor, like a water fall, smooth and silk like.
“Clockwork said that you three will be moving into my city, or should I say five?” The voice is smooth and gentle, with a slight rasp around the words. Lady Gotham.
“Lady Gotham, it’s me! Danny!” Danny happily waves at the woman, ghost? Ghost woman. She smiles warmly and floats closer to Danny’s side of the moving truck, her massive form slowly shrinking until she is about 8 feet tall.
“Hello little King, it is an honor to meet and protect you in my city. I promise to let my knights know of any unwanted pests.” Lady Gotham bows elegantly in front of Danny, who just looks confused.
“King, what do you mean by that?” He tilts his head like the innocent little cinnamon boy he is, melting everyone’s hearts by doing so.
“Has the master of time not told you?” Lady Gotham is now also confused, and when she gets a shake of the head from all three of the people in the truck, she sighs and continues to talk, “You have won the crown by trial of combat, as you defeated the previous Ghost King.” She states.
The Fent- the Nightingale’s stare in shock, then- “ WHAT DO YOU MEAN!! I WAS JUST TRYING TO KEEP AMITY SAFE!!” Danny shouts, very loudly, making everyone cover their ears. Danny quickly starts doing the in for 4, hold for 8, out for 7. Trying to calm down as fast as he can. “So, I am the King, and I need to learn how to rule the infinite realms.” He slowly and calmly asks.
“Yes, you do need to learn how to rule, but, you don’t need to, not yet at least.” Lady Gotham starts out slowly, then goes back to normal speaking speed. Watching as Danny pauses, then relax as he does not need to rule first hand yet.
“Can we get going now? We have to unpack and get settled in our new home.” Jazz states calmly, though she clearly wants to get out of the truck and into a bed. Lady Gotham chuckles and nods, moving them through the shadows to their new home. Carefully putting them in front of it.
“Well, that was easy. Come on and get out, stretch then start moving everything into the house.” Jack says, then gets out himself to do just that. The kids quickly hop and get to following him.

Chapter Text
After they settle down, and everything is in the house, they get to claiming the rooms they want. Danny moves to the stairs and walks up them, Jazz and Jack following him as he does. He looks through the doors, looking for a room just for him.
The upstairs has 3 rooms, 2 baths, a kitchen, and a living room. Just like downstairs. He moves to the second to last room, seeing it is a small room, but cozy looking.
“This is my room, I will take this room.” Danny says while pointing at the room, now his. Jazz nods at him with a thumbs up.
“Alright, Jazz go look for your room while I help Danny get his stuff up here and set up. Ok?” Jack asks as he moves to the stairs to get his youngests stuff to his room, Danny follows him.
“Yes dad, I’ll go now.” Jazz replies to her dad, moving to find her room, or well, pick her room. Though she notices Danny is looking paler, she thinks nothing of it because he might still be adjusting to the low airborne ectoplasm.
Danny pauses, then slowly walks to the nearest bathroom, feeling nauseous. Jack immediately notices and follows him, having been through this twice. He knows what morning sickness is, though he is surprised that it is happening right now, as Danny hasn’t eaten anything or been near any food since they walked in the house.
Danny enters the bathroom and just crumbles to the floor in front of the toilet and just vomits up what little was in his stomach, as the food from the diner has been almost fully digested. It takes way longer for the food to be digested for him than normal.
Jack quickly holds his hair back while he vomits, gently saying encouraging words to him. Danny has never been this tired and sick since he became Phantom, and it is humbling. Very much so, that he feels bad for anyone who is sick like this.
“Danno, just let it all out, you’ll be fine. It will pass soon.” Jack comforts his youngest, even if he doesn’t know what's going on inside of his son's body too well. Danny just continues to empty his stomach.
When he gets done, Jack moves to clean up the little mess his son made, though it is only a little bit. Danny leans back and watches as his dad cleans up, feeling bad that he is cleaning up after him. Jack notices.
“Danny, it’s alright. This is normal when you're pregnant, it's just a part of the process, even the cleaning.” Jack gently explains, spearing a glance at his son while cleaning. Danny nods and stands up on weak legs, Jazz coming down the stairs and finally noticing that her brother had a moment.
“Are you okay? You look like you just fought Skulker.” Jazz comments, just to be an annoying older sister. Danny glares at her but there's no real heat behind it. Jack sighs and just gestures at the bathroom, then at Danny. And with that it clicks in her head, and she sheepishly backs up.
“Soo, I am just going to bring your stuff in your room. Bye!” She quickly leaves to do just that, making Danny sigh and look his dad in the eyes with a face that says, ‘Why is she like this?’. Jack just shrugs and carefully helps his son be stable on his feet, then moves him to a chair in the kitchen.
“Dad, when do you start at WE?” Danny asks, clearly not wanting any silence. Jack ponders for a little bit, then just gives up and goes through his binder with all his new information. It doesn’t take long to find it.
“Well, today is Wednesday, and I start next Monday. So in… I think 5 days(?).” Jack says, getting his calendar ready to be on the downstairs kitchen wall. (I don’t know how to count days correctly. Sorry.) Danny watches, nodding along.
“Is there a dress code at the job?” Danny asks, just to have a conversion with his dad, as this hasn’t happened in a very long time. Jack continues to look in the binger.
“All it says is to wear my best, even if it is just comfortable attire.” He sounds confused by this, like it doesn’t make sense.
Danny just shrugs and they fall into a comfortable silence, and after a while, he goes to help Jazz with bringing his stuff up to his room, not wanting to leave her out there longer all by herself. As this is Gotham of all places, and she is very pale and can be spotted from a mile away, though her hair got a deeper shade of red too. He knows she can handle herself in any situation but he still worries, might be because of his obsession for protection, he has another one too, space.
He goes out of the house and spots his sister on the moving truck, noticing that no one else is near, which is surprising in its own right, he goes to help her.
“Hey sis, hand me something please.” Danny calls into the back of the moving truck, startling Jazz.
“Little brother! Don’t do that!” Jazz yells at her brother, though she does hand him something, the living room couch, because she knows he can hold it and move it. Though it might also be because of how Amity Parkers just carry heavy shit all the time.
Danny just picks up the couch like it weighs nothing and just walk back inside, holding it one handed, even though he looks like a fucking twig with how skinny he is. Jazz also looks a little skinny but a little more full then him, more meat on the bones.
It takes a few hours to get everything in the house and set up, though it was fun with all the teasing and jokes. They get Batburger when they get everything in its spot. They enter the restaurant and get in line, Danny between his sister and dad. When they can place an order, they get a lot of food, Jazz getting the smaller amount, and Danny getting the largest.
They eat, uncaring of the stares they are getting, though it's just mainly Danny, because how can this twig eat more than Bane 2.0? And the kid is smaller than the girl! She’s eating less than the other two.
The three of them go home after they finish eating and get ready for bed, as they have a long day ahead of them tomorrow.
They need to go get food for the house, get the kids enrolled in school, and clean the place up of any dust or spiders(I call them spooders).
Welp, better get some sleep.
Notes:
Sorry for this short one. I don't want to try for a little bit from the other story I written about. The one with over 4,700 words. With only two chapters. It's about the r.e.p.o game.
I also have a Tumblr account where I post updates on my fics.
Tumblr:https://www.tumblr.com/blog/sleep-weak, though I probs won't post much on there, its a hit and miss for me.
Chapter 9: Doing things and deep clean.
Summary:
They get more settled in, and a deep clean of the house, though I will not write that. Just wanting to get their home clean in your mind.
Notes:
SORRY FOR THIS BEING SO LATE!! LIKE MONTHS LATE! I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS THE LONG!!
Anyway, hope you like this one, even if it is short. 🥲
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Danny wakes up before anyone else in the home, he finds himself in his room. He lays in his bed, on his back staring up at the ceiling. After a little while he sighs and moves to look around his room, seeing what all he needs to do, even if it is 6:29 am.
He unpacks the rest of his things. Floating up to the ceiling to get his rockets hung up on it, spacing them around to make them look pretty. He is careful not to make them too close, not wanting them to look clustered in the small room. Every now and again he will move them just enough to make just a little bit of room, making the rockets on the ceiling look perfect.
He then moves back down to look at the clock now that he’s finished. It’s now 7:02. He sighs and walks out of his room, not making any noise so as to not disturb his family. He tiptoes through the home, and as it is a little dark, but not enough for his dark vision to activate.
He uses his feet to use as his eyes.
Which means he stubs his pinky toe.
He stops breathing so he doesn’t scream.
Then he enters deep thought.
Danny pauses, then smacks his head with his left hand as he forgot he can float, but if he does more floating the GIW might be able to find him. And now that he thinks about it harder, he should probably just not use his powers.
He groans softly, rubbing his face. He walks to the downstairs living room to see if he can get it set up, or if it even needs to be. Which it does. Danny smiled and got to setting it up, putting the couch in the corner near the window. He put the T.V. in front of the couch on the opposite wall, along with the stand for it. He puts a wooden end table on the right end of the couch, which is NOT on the wall.
He places the pictures of just his sister and father with him on the walls, smiling at them. He places the coffee table in front of the couch, then gets to putting the curtains up. Danny looks at the clock and it is 7:53, around the time Jazz will wake up.
His ears perk up when he hears her getting ready, perfect timing really. He smiles warmly, moving up the stairs to catch her, wanting to help with anything he can. She spots him peeking around a corner and smiles.
“Little brother, what are you doing up so early?” Jazz asks, keeping her voice down as their dad is still sleeping and his hearing is very sharp after years of hunting ghosts.
“I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I set up the living room downstairs.” Danny answers, clearly not tired at all and has been up for a while now. Though he tries to stay quiet like her, and it barely works.
“Danny, little brother, how long have you been up?” Jazz asks silently, eyeing him with suspicion as she brushes her teeth, going through her morning routine.
“Like, 6:30? Around that time. Though I don’t know why you would ask that.” Danny is trying his best to stay quiet and let his dad sleep a little bit more. Watching his sister go through her routine, forgetting to blink.
“Wow that’s early, and blink little brother, we’re not in Amity anymore, remember? Also, are you hungry? I can make you something. If we even have anything for me to make in the fridge.” Jazz continues to keep her voice calm, and silent. Washing her mouth out with mouth wash after she finishes talking, then face Danny when he starts talking, brushing her hair out.
“Yeah, I remember, and I would love something to eat, your cooking is second to best with dads. Though you know I don’t have to eat much because of yesterday, eating all of that. But I don’t think we have anything in the fridge, might have to wake him up to get fast food.” Danny is still trying to talk silently, waving his hands around as he talks, reminding her that he digests food more slowly than them, well, all the way alive people. And since he is half dead, he doesn’t need to eat much to keep his human half well fed. And it takes twice as long for the food to be fully eaten, and passed through.
“Oh, I forgot, sorry little brother. It is so easy to forget that part.” Jazz says, keeping her voice as silent as possible now, blushing from embarrassment while putting her teal headband on to keep her bangs out of her face. She then gets to washing her face, to wake up, and to keep her face clean.
“Well, that’s okay, even I forget sometimes. Well, before Frostbite forced that information into my mind.” Danny says with a shrug. Then flinches when Jack, his dad, puts his hand on Danny’s shoulder. Jazz also flinches, because he didn’t make any sound.
“What are you both talking about?” Jack asks, looking concerned when they both startle again, as his voice is just the regular booming volume.
“Just what we are going to eat for breakfast, though Danny won’t eat, as he is still digesting his food from last night.” Jazz says, gesturing to Danny, who is leaning heavily into Jack’s hand, wanting the good touch, not the touch that hurts.
“Alright, though I do need to go shopping, do you two want to come with me?” Jack asks with a nod, keeping his hand on Danny’s shoulder gentle and warm. Both Danny and Jazz shake their heads, not wanting to leave the house anytime soon. Unless they need to, like school.
“Well, if that’s what you want, then sure.” Jack says with a shrug, then takes his hand off Danny’s shoulder, moving to get ready to leave for a grocery run. Danny trails after his touch, but only pouts when Jack doesn’t stay. So Danny moves to the downstairs living room to see what is on the T.V. Jazz finishes her routine, then moves to follow Danny. Moving through her routine faster than normal.
Danny puts on a funny little show, it is not funny, called Pit Bulls & Parolees. Jazz side eyes Danny, but sits to watch the show, starting from the very first episode. About halfway through it, Jack moves down the stairs, wearing a comfortable outfit of sweatpants that hangs low on his hips, and a loose t-shirt that is tight on his biceps, with black pair of shoes with white laces. His black with little specks of gray in his messy hair.
Danny looks over to his dad. “Huh, I never noticed that dad can clean up like that.” He mutters to Jazz, who is also staring slightly at Jack, nodding subtly, because he never really did back in Amity, just always wearing that bright orange jumpsuit with large goggles.
“Ok, I will be going now, lock the doors and windows just to be safe, and keep a weapon near you too.” Jack says, wallet in his pocket, and a weapon in his other one. He moves to the door, but Danny shoots up and runs to Jack, giving him a hug before he leaves. “Woah there buddy, I love you too.” Jack keeps his tone light as he wraps his arms around his son to return the hug.
Danny tilting his head to face his dad, a big smile on his face, his eyes closed making his smile more winder looking, though it might be because he is making his smile more wider from his unnatural half dead biology. Uncanny looking. Though both Jazz and Jack are used to it, as it’s been two years since Danny became like this.
Jack squeezes Danny once before letting go, moving to open the door while Danny lets go, moving back to the couch to continue to watch the show with Jazz, waving as Jack leaves, closing the door behind him. Jazz also waves bye, turning back to the T.V to also continue watching the show.
Before Jack can even close the door, now outside, Jazz says, “Stay safe, dad.” Her voice soft, making Jack pause for a moment, before a smile comes onto his face. He nods, then closes the door, finally out and not in sight. Around 2 minutes later, the sound of the moving truck can be heard starting up and driving away.
Around 40 minutes later, Danny sneezes, startling Jazz as she was deep into the show. She looks over to Danny, concerned as he does get sick more often from being half dead and pregnant. “Are you alright?” Her voice is very concerned.
“Yeah, just dusty in here, could hardly even fall asleep last night because of it.” He responds, rubbing his nose, eyes still on the screen of the T.V. Which just makes Jazz worry more for her little brother.
“You know what, turn the T.V off and let's get to cleaning everything, we need to do that anyway, for your health, and maybe a surprise for dad when he gets back with the food. How’s that sound to you?” Jazz asks Danny, already standing up and moving to her room to change into some clean clothes, mask, gloves, and hair tie to keep her long hair out of her face.
Danny turns the T.V off, then follows her lead, clearly having been itching to do just that since they moved here. Getting an apron on himself, one upping her, while also having to need to. “I clean the downstairs, you get the upstairs, how does that sound?” Danny asks, pausing to look at her, waiting for her to answer.
“Sounds like a plan, let’s get to moving.” Jazz says, moving to work up stairs, while Danny moves to turn the T.V back on, for music. The song "Immortals" by Fall Out Boy is what he chooses first(because that is what is playing on my Spotify right now). While that plays, he moves to sweep first, which does take like 20 minutes to do. Same as Jazz with the time.
After they get done sweeping, they move to moping, and Jazz makes the water for that, as Danny is not allowed to after that one incident. Somehow giving life to the water, and for like 4 days that thing took over the town, then Danny had to get Frostbite’s help with getting rid of it. The fight lasted 8 hours.
When the mopping gets down, they take a little break, then wonder why Jack isn’t back yet, but they don’t worry, as that man is a fucking tank, and will fight if needed, though he doesn’t show mercy when he does. Just taking the enemy out as fast as he can. Danny knows, having been fighting him for 2 years.
Anyways.
They get back to cleaning after the little break, and having placed bets as to when Jack will get back, Jazz vacuums the upstairs first while Danny moves to cleaning the walls, Jazz making the water again. Yes, they are going a very, very deep clean. It needs to be done.
When Jazz gets done vacuuming, Danny gets done washing the walls of the downstairs, and they just switch off. Jazz washing the walls, Danny vacuuming. It takes a while for them to finish that, 15 minutes each, and when they get done with that, they move to the cabinets, and get to washing that.
You all get it by now, they just clean. And in total it has taken around 4 hours. And Jack is still not back, so he must either be fighting, doing other things, or is now coming back. One of them should have gone with him, now that they think about it.
Wait.
Shouldn’t he just have gotten food from the nearby store? Or is he registering them both in school?
“Let’s sit down and continue watching that show you picked, yeah?” Jazz says, moving to sit, done with cleaning, her hands a sore, her back could be better, her knees hurting as she sits.
“Yeah.” Danny agrees, moving to sit on the downstairs living room couch. He takes off his mask and he plops down on it, his knees and back popping in protest, making him wince slightly in pain. Then, he feels… reassurance? From Dani and Dan’s cores. Sending him feelings in place of messages.
When Danny places a hand on his lower stomach, Jazz notices immediately and looks over when Danny goes very quiet, she reaches over and takes his hand in hers, tilting her head to the side, as if asking if he is ok.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just… felt Dani and Dan send emotions to me. Is that too early?” Danny asks, not knowing what ghost pregnancies can be like. And all Jazz can do is shrug, also confused about all of this.
Before Jazz can even talk, the moving truck can be heard returning, making both Danny and Jazz perk up at the sound. They wait on the couch as the sound of footsteps move closer and closer to the front door, but both of them are relaxed. Though there is a bat near Jazz, and a knife near Danny, just for protection. You know how it is living in America, right my fellow Americans?
The door knob juggles, and as the door is locked, it sounds weird. It might just be Jack checking if the door is locked. After a little bit of just the door doing that, Jazz drabs the Anti-Creep Stick™ and walks over to the door, feeling that something is off. And Danny feels it too as he stands up to go hide, but to where he can see Jazz and help if needed.
Jazz looks through the peek hole of the door, and it is just…what is that? A clown? With green hair. And white shin, with just makeup. A growse red smile that’s fake as fuck.
“Danny, clown alert.” Jazz whispers, knowing Danny can hear it from wherever he is in the house. She hears two taps from somewhere, and that’s all she needs before she opens the door.
And that scares the shit out of the person, clown thingy. And he says in a too high pitched voice that's in a mid laugh, and he just sounds insane, “Well hello there young lady!”

Please, I beg thee to try to read my other stories. Though they might not be your type of tea, I would just like thee to take a little peak at them.
A new one will probs come out soon.
By the way the show in this is real, and I love it.
Chapter 10: Recleaning and concerned father talk
Summary:
Jack gives a talk to Jazz and Danny, one he should have years ago.
Danny gets morning sickness again after around lunch time(I don't know when normal lunch is anymore)
Jazz makes Jack get them in school faster so they don't have to get bored and open doors for fights.(You must remember that they were from Amity, the ghosts fight for fun and bonding time, more so in the realms)
Notes:
Forȝif me, for I am seke; my wit waxeth feble for this siknesse.
This just means I am sick and I will forget how to use my hands how to type words out on the google docs.
I rushed through the beginning because I don't know how to make a fight thingy without magic, also. I think I have a eating problem. Like the one where I don't really care about if I eat or not. Don't dwell on this, please.
The curse has gotten me. It takes my soul. My voice. My mind as I cannot sleep. I am on my second day in a role of my sickness keeping me up. I cannot breath though my nose, and I will rather give my life away to the universe and become a star in the sky then breath though my mouth.
My nose is bleeding from how dry it is, and it only runs when I lie down. That, again, has taking two days from me and I am seeing spiders out of the corner out of my eyes, I see moving little bugs to. In the dark I see things I know aren't real. Humanoid craters made from the shadows themselves.
And when I get at least a little nap, I feel like I am drowning. My head swims, pounds with my heart beat. Coughs don't help, they hurt more then when I broke my fucking ancle. And it's still not healed all the way. You know how when you can move you foot in a circle? Yeah, I can't do that all the way. But it's fine, it will always be fine.
Will all tell ourselves white lies to just get through our terrible lives. Lying is for survive they call it. But your raised like that to live. To hold your tongue, not to speak out loud unless to lie. To save you or your family, friends, lover(s), strangers even.
This is what is am seeing and feeling at the moment, so please forgive my forgetfulness.
Alright sorry to go into the much detail, have fun reading this chapter with this mind set! No I didn't plan this. I promise on my life. And may I lie I breath through my mouth.
I can seeing strings attached to my body moving me around like a puppet. It might just be a trick of the light though. I feel asleep, and I don't remember writing that.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Jazz backed away from the door, holding the Anti-Creep Stick™ behind her back. Hiding it from this weirdos view. She glares at this clown rip off, holding her grown against him. Not backing down at all. Which seems to slightly irritate him, as his eye twitches slightly. A subtle sign that does not go unnoticed from her. As she grew up in a house full of weapons that were unsteady left in the open. And would go off at random times. Plus living with her dad and Maddie also adds to that problem.
“Hello young lady! Do you want to play a game?” The clown rip off asks, sounding slightly mad at her for even daring to stand up to him. He stalks forward, trying to be menacing, but all he ends up looking like in Jazz’s eyes is a child trying to scare the parents while giving their hiding spot away.
“No, I don’t want to play a game, get out of my house you rip off of a clown that looks like it has mommy AND daddy issues.” Jazz states like it’s facts. Pulling the Anti-Creep Stick™ out from behind her back, holding it in a way to be ready to hit him if needed.
“Now now, that is no way to treat a guest.” The rip off of a clown moves closer to her, making his way more into the house. Jazz’s hold on the Anti-Creep Stick™ tightens. The clown notices that Jazz is not scared, and feels irritated. Wondering why this family he chose for the plan he set up is not scared, and he will just have to search for the other two people that he knows are gone.
The rip off of a clown is starting to get bored, so he moves to make this quick. He launches himself forward aiming to knock her out, but she dodges to the right. Ready to defend herself, and her brother that is hiding somewhere in the house.
The clown uses his fists first, but Jazz dodges, as he is so much slower than the ghosts she fought before. The clown growls when he can’t land a hit, so he takes out his gun and aims at her. Jazz’s eyes widen when the clown shoots. But she is fast enough to dodge it, but it nicks her shoulder. Making her grunt, but not standing down.
“My my. You're a slippery one.” The nasty, rip off of a clown says, sounding irritated, voice dropping slightly. His smile dropping slightly. But still there, just more cold. More sinister. More calculating. His eyes showing nothing but the same coldness in his smile, almost black. He takes aim again. Ready to shoot once more.
“Not slippery, just fast.” Jazz states, just wanting to make him more angry, knowing it will mess up his movements. She runs to the left side, not staying in one place for too long. Knowing that staying in one place will get her killed from experience.
She spots a weak spot in his stance, then aims at it. His ribs on his left side. She winds back, hands stopping just above her head, then swings as hard as she can. Her eyes cold, not caring for this intruder, as her brother hates clowns, and has trauma from Freakshow.
He tries to dodge, but all that does is make the hit land on his left hip. That’s going to leave a bruise. And the metal vibrates from hitting so hard, but she keeps her hands tightly on it, white knuckling it. Not making the mistake of dropping her weapon mid fight again.
The rip off of a clown winces, grunting in pain. Then glares, angry now. He aims his gun and shoots, nicking her again, this time in the right thigh, and now it is her turn to wince. But just like the clown, she does not give up. Steadying herself, keeping herself up and standing. With a slight limp now.
“You’re getting on my nerves.” The clown growls out, frustrated with her. Jazz just moves forward, moving fast despite her limp, aiming for his right hand holding the gun.
But she miscalculates, tripping over a box that was left of the floor, making her fall. When she tries to get up, it takes a lot of effort. The nick on her thigh holding her back from her full strength. She is now just frustrated with herself for letting this happen, and that the ecto in this city is bad and not enough for her to fight like she normally does, meaning that when she needs to fight she needs to be more careful and win as few strikes as possible. Might need to tell Danny and Jack that too.
The clown immediately hits the back of her head when she’s down, using the back of his gun, a Glock. Taking the chance given to him from her trip and weakened state. He smiles pleasantly, thinking he can finally pull her out and to his van. Unaware about how she really is weak, thinking it is the nicks from his bullets, but it’s not. It’s from the less ectoplasm in the air, as it is not as thick as it is in Amity.
Everything goes black, but just before she closes her eyes, she spots Danny coming out of hiding. Looking pissed, eyes going from her form to the rip off clown. Then, her eyes close. Diving into nothingness. Unaware of what Danny is about to do.
…
…
When she wakes up next, there is blood. Everywhere. And the clown is nowhere to be seen. Danny on the couch, staring into nothing, hands bloody, blood splattered on his clothes. Cuts on his body, likely from the clown, a bullet hole on his left thigh, close to the hip.
The sound of Jack's heavy step can be heard running to the house from a yard away. Jazz tries to get up, her head spinning, likely concussed. Danny’s head slowly turns to her, then after watching her struggle for a moment, he snaps out of his haze, rushing to her side to move to help her up. Limping from the bullet in his thigh. Ignoring the pain that shoots through him, as he felt worse from The Box Ghost.
She allows Danny to help, as she can barely see straight and her limbs are still weak from the lack of ecto. And it will just make it worse if she refuses help. She leans on him slightly when he gets her to stand, not wanting to let her brother strain himself for her. Especially when he is carrying two little ones. Danny helps her to the couch and helps her sit without her just falling onto it.
Jack bursts through the door as soon as Danny gets Jazz to sit on the couch. And he immediately sees all the blood on the floor, and the blood on Danny and Jazz. Jack slowly walks over to Danny, who faces him when Jazz is on the couch in a comfortable position. He looks… shaken. As if scared to face his dad.
Jack puts a gentle hand on his son’s shoulder, in a soothing motion. “Danny, what happened?” He asks gently and carefully, not wanting to think he is in trouble, and not wanting to scare him more. Danny takes a shaky breath to steady himself, leaning a little into his dads touch.
Danny hesitates for a moment, then tells him everything, “This clown knocked on the door, then attacked Jazz without prompt. And Jazz told me to hide before she opened the door, so I don’t know what all else happened, though I heard gun shots. And when he knocked her out, I ran out and saw red, and I forgot what happened next.” Danny’s voice trembles as he talks, his eyes downcast, looking at the floor. He mumbled the last part, hating what happens when his core screams to protect his family from the ones who are them.
Jack tenses at the mention of gun shots. He looks Jazz over quickly, spotting the nicks on her, he then looks Danny over, noticing that he has a GUN SHOT HOLE IN HIS LEFT THIGH. It looks like it doesn’t have an exit hole. Jack takes a breath to calm himself down, just like Danny did.
“Danny, sit down. Why are you even standing? You're hurt.” Jack’s voice is stern, and concerned, moving Danny to sit down next to Jazz on the couch that now has blood stains on it. That is going to be a bitch to clean later. But right now, Jack focuses on his kids.
Danny lets Jack guide him to sit, limping as he walks. Jack slowly guides him down, not letting go until his son nods that he is fine. He slowly lets go of Danny, just to be sure and careful. Jack then rushes to the upstairs bathroom, to get the things he needs to help Danny. He moves fast so that the blood doesn’t ooze out more than it needs to.
It doesn’t take long for him to return, mainly because he is running as fast as he can, and sets down the supplies. Jack gets the tweezers, and starts to fish out the bullet. Trying to be careful and not hurt Danny too much. Jazz also tries to help Danny by cleaning up the scratches on him, and oh Ancients there are so many bruises. And the scars on Danny, she doesn’t like it, and she can tell Jack doesn’t either. But they can’t undo Danny’s death. Or, well, half death. And they also can’t undo all the trauma of what Vlad did.
Anyway, back on track. Jazz is putting band aids on all the little scratches on Danny, just wanting him to feel loved and cared for while Jack works on the bullet hole. It takes a little bit to get all the fragments out. He then quickly cleans the wound again. When it is cleaned once more, he starts stitching Danny up. It only needs 2 stitches, but stitches nonetheless. Jack then wraps it up in gauze.
“Danny, please be careful from now on. You have to think about the two little ones that you are carrying now, not just yourself.” Jack says sternly, eyes focused on wrapping the gauze around Danny’s thigh.
Danny freezes, but after a few moments he replies with, “I know, dad. I just…” He can’t finish the sentence. Making Jazz hold him in her arms, trying to sooth him by rubbing gentle circles on his back. Danny takes a deep, shaky breath, then faces Jack for the first time since he came back.
“Danny, if you don’t start taking care of yourself more, you're going to end up all the way dead, or just broken. I don’t want my son, or daughter, to end up like that.” Jack glances up, looking Danny right in the eyes before looking down again to finish off wrapping him the now stitched up bullet hole, tying it up so it doesn’t come undone.
Danny stays silent for a long time, clearly thinking it over, and Jazz is also silent, as she was involved in her fathers words. Both kids think it over. Deep in thought, and Jack lets them. And while they think, Jack helps Jazz with her bruises, and the bump on the back of her head, that gets an ice pack. He cleans the nicks on her, and then puts band aids on them too.
… (As the author, I want you all, yes the readers, to think about something you can do to fix your in life. If it is not how you like it, then I want you to write down five times what you want to change. ON PAPER, with pencil. Everyday. Until you can get it in your mind, then start that in real life, small things first.
Please do small things first. I want what's best for my readers. Even if you are young, or old. I just want you all to be the best you can. Even if in others eyes it won’t be the best, or up to par, or in their eyes you can try harder.
But, you are you. Your best is different from everyone else's.
Now, back to the story.)
“... Ok. Ok. I will, I will try to be better. For you, for me, and for my little ones.” Danny mumbles at first, but finds his voice at the end, one hand on his stomach, his other on Jack’s arm. Danny is also leaning on Jazz more.
Jack nods. Done with helping Jazz, as she is now holding the ice pack on her own, and she is leaning back on the still blood stained couch. Though the blood is now almost dry now, so they will need to get a new couch, or keep it and clean it.
They will probably just clean it. They will need to get a lot of Hydrogen peroxide to clean this couch. And Danny’s clothes. And Jazz’s. And the floor- you know what? Jack will just clean everything. In this living room with Hydrogen peroxide, even the shoes.
“Alright. We’re going out for lunch, go wash yourselves up. And that blood, you know what that means.” Jack says, guiding them to the upstairs bathroom, because that’s where most of the things are. For the bathroom, because fuck the downstairs one. That one is for guests.
Both the kids hurry to do as told, changing into different clothes, and washing their hands with Hydrogen peroxide. They also clean the blood on their faces and body. Wanting to be careful, and also not wanting that nasty ass clown’s blood on them longer than necessary.
They both grimace and shudder, not liking that clown at all, especially Danny, because of all the souls that were attached to that clown. They all were angry, sad, disgusted at the clown. But, when Danny took care of him, they were all joyous. Happy that the clown was gone. Happy that they were now free, not tied to him anymore.
Jazz and Danny walk down the stairs, walking to Jack who is wearing an apron, gloves, those cleaner boots, a hair net, and a mask. Just cleaning the blood, like it’s normal. Well, it might just be normal for this family. Jazz is wearing a dark blue sweater, with loose jeans and regular sneakers. Her hair is in a messy bun. Danny is wearing a long sleeved black shirt with some gray sweatpants, also wearing sneakers. Both couldn’t really be bothered to dress nicely.
Jack looked up from where he was cleaning on the floor, “You two look nice. Are you ready to leave for lunch?” He asked, voice his usual booming one. His gloved hands covered in cleaning supplies and blood. Even his knees, because he is on his hands and knees just to clean this floor.(Get your minds out of the gutter you dirty minded people)
“Yep. And thanks for the compliment." Danny said, slipping his phone into his pocket, then putting his hair into a low pony tail, because it has gotten a little long. Knowing he won’t eat, but he is just going because he wants to, and if he does get something to eat, it won't be a large amount. Well, a small amount for his family is eating for two grown adults.
“Yes, we’re ready, and thank you dad. But are you ready? You don’t look like you are.” Jazz says, helping Danny with his pony tail, which he nods in thanks. She smooths it out, then subtly checks if he has his binder on right, which he doesn’t, so she fixes that. And Danny smiles gratefully when she does, because he forgot, and he doesn’t want his binder loose when in public.
“You're both welcome.” Jack says, then looks down at himself. “Alright, I need to change, wait for me to return, it won’t take too long.” He walks to his room upstairs(Everything is upstairs, just for the moment, trust me with this layout. They just moved in, so upstairs is good, and it is safer in their eyes.) to change into something nice, or a little nice. Maybe just dress like he got out of bed, today is a lazy day for the family.
Jack comes back down just a few minutes later, just to find Danny and Jazz in a staring contest with each other, their eyes gaining a light green hue. Jack quickly walks over, knowing they might just start a brawl with each other for fun if he doesn’t stop them fast. “Hey, hey, no. No fighting in the house, you both know the rule. If you want to brawl with each other, go out to the backyard. But go easy, Danny is pregnant, remember that Jazz.” He puts his hands on their shoulders.
Both of them startle out of the staring contest, then break out in nervous chuckles, Jazz scratches her check with her index finger, while Danny rubs the back of his neck. They both say sorry and move to follow him out of the house and to the car.
At the nearby batburger.
They all walk in, and Jazz and Danny walk to a seat in the corner that has a view of the whole place, Danny facing the front door, Jazz facing the back. Jack goes to get the food, already knowing what the kids want.
Both Danny and Jazz can also look out of the window, just to be careful, and safe. Though they both start staring at each other again. Then they kick at each other under the table, just bored out of their minds. But they don’t talk, no, they just stay silent as they see who will win, and who will lose from the pain.
Jazz ends up losing. Not used to the pain Danny is used to. She loses just as Jack comes back with the food, giving Danny the smallest portion, Jazz the second smallest, and himself the largest one. They all begin eating, just enjoying their company.
They eat like there’s no tomorrow, except Danny, because he is not trying to trigger his morning sickness(Can that happen??). Jack and Jazz just glance at Danny, a little concerned, but not enough to comment.
The others in the batburger watch as this family of three practically inhales the food, and they think the youngest one, Danny, is the slowest because he is young. Even though he eats the fastest when he is very hungry, he even eats more than both his dad and sister combined.
It doesn’t take long for them all to finish, and Jack leaves a little tip on the table, then leaves. Goes home with his kids. Danny climbs into the front seat, Jazz in floor board, Jack in the givers seat. Still not having a car of their own, still using the moving truck. They really need a car of their own.
Back at home.
Danny runs to the bathroom. Jazz follows after him, just to hold his hair back and to give him soothing touches. Just to keep him calm even when he empties his stomach. Danny hates this part of being pregnant, he really does. Even with how sore he is, how his back is starting to hurt, how his ankles are very slowly starting to get more swollen. But he won’t want it any other way, he will carry Dani and Dan over and over again if they need it. No matter what. Even if Vlad is the other father.
“Just let it out, little brother. Don’t hold it in. That will just make it worse.” Jazz gently says, stretching his head in a soothing matter. Danny relaxes and doesn’t hold back. Letting his body run its course.
After Danny gets done with his business. He slumps backward onto Jazz, completely drained. Jazz continues to sooth Danny, as if helping him fall asleep as she washes his mouth out and around his face. She gently calls for her dad, so he can pick Danny up to take him to his bedroom.
Jack, as silently as he can, walks over to pick Danny up, then take him up the squeaky stairs, then down the hall. He opens up his son's room, noticing that he unpacked everything and put his room to his liking. Jack smiled, and as carefully and as gently as he can puts his son down on his bed, and covers him up.
Jack leans down to kiss his son a good nap. Then leaves, closing the door behind him to let his son sleep, but not before saying, “I love you, my son. Sleep well.” quietly.
He walks back to Jazz, who is back to cleaning the blood up with Hydrogen peroxide, focusing on the couch, because that’s where they sit. It needs to be clean of all blood, and she is not going to miss a spot. Jack just gets to helping her, going for the walls.
“I got you both enrolled in school. It starts in less than two weeks. 9 days. So next Tuesday, be ready. I enrolled you into online school, but Danny into Gotham Academy. I know he won’t do any of his school work if he was homeschooled.” Jack breaks the silence after a long moment of cleaning to nothing, startling Jazz from the sudden noise.
“So basically… we’re going back to school every soon, and we don’t even have our school supplies?” Jazz asks, looking up from cleaning the couch, there’s a lot of blood on this couch. And is deep in the cushions of the couch.
“Don’t worry, we’re going shopping soon. Just not today or tomorrow. I want Danny to rest after what had just happened.” Jack says, explaining what he is going to do. Getting the high wall, slightly impressed by how high Danny got the clowns up there.
“Oh, alright. Well, let's get this done before dinner, and if Danny is not awake by then, then he will probably stay asleep until tomorrow.” Jazz says, getting the last of the cushions clean, and now the house just smells of cleaning supplies. Jazz gets an air freshener, it is cinnamon scented, but subtle. But still strong enough to hide the cleaning smell.
(I used this one website called The Scented Angles as inspiration with the sent, 10/10 would use again. Also it is homemade)
Jack and Jazz watch this one youtuber called Rotten Mango, just waiting for dinner. Well, Jazz waits while Jack leaves the house again to cook dinner. It’s been awhile since he made his famous chicken legs. And no it’s not just salt and pepper, it's a lot of different spices. Like garlic salt, red pepper, paprika, rosemary, cardamom, and cayenne. Sometimes it is not all of them, just a few at a time, and sometimes it is all of them. And Jack roasts the chicken legs, he doesn’t like to fry them.
Jazz cannot wait for him to return with his haul of food, and she can’t wait for her dad to return. She wonders what the sides he will get for the meal. She likes her lips, almost drooling by the thought of her dads cooking.
2 hours later.
Jack walks into the house, and notices that his daughter is still watching that lady talking about true crime. He did a large grocery run, like 14 bags of food, and they are large bags too. Jazz’s head looks to him when she hears the door open, then quickly hops up to help her dad.
“Thank you Jazzy-pants.” Jack thanks his daughter, then walks to the downstairs kitchen, putting everything up, in the fridge and freezer goes the food. Like frozen peas, fresh veggies, fruits, different meats, and just some canned food. Not a lot of them, but they are just there for when anyone wants a snack.
He pulls out a bowl and keeps the eggs and flour out, along with the spices he wants, which is all of them, and starts cooking. Jazz watches from behind a wall, looking into the kitchen. Jack notices, but chooses not to comment, letting his kid watch him put things up, and watch him cook.
After he does get down, the roasted chicken legs are down with a side of hand mashed potatoes with corn and brown gravy. With another side of steamed broccoli(I love me some broccoli). Jazz makes her way in as her dad plates some food, then hands it to her and she takes the plate then scurries off with her food.
Jack chuckles as he watches her do so. Amused by his oldest kid’s personality. He then makes his own plate of food and makes his way to the living room(It’s the downstairs one). He finds Jazz sitting on the now clean couch while trying to find something to watch while she eats, he makes his way over and plops down beside her.
They eat in silence once Jazz finds something to watch, just an animal planet one.
Notes:
Pages: 10 and a half.
Find a way to get "hard lime difficult time" in the story.
I tried on the fight thingy, I really did. Hope you liked it. 😑👍
I know this isn't dialog heavy. I just hate dialog. Like, even in real book, I would skip the bulk of it, and if it has something important, I would read that one or two sentences. But other then that, I won't read it.
I know some of you like it, and I know some of you hate it like me. But I am trying to find a middle ground of where it is not heavy heavy, or non at all.
But I am trying to like, space it out. Let the dialog run where it feels natural or important. So please forgive me!
Also sorry for the notes at the beginning, I was on like 30 minutes of sleep for two days, and I started seeing things.
Chapter 11: Finally, school!!
Summary:
Finally meeting someone. Love at first....?
Notes:
This is set a few days later, and yes, the kids in Danny's belly are growing, and yes, Danny is getting special attention from the school because Jack is built like Bane 2.0 but slightly smaller.
Yes, he put the fear of god into them.
Jazz is homeschooled because I don't really know how to write her in this.
Also there is more swears in this chapter so.... yay? This is just because of the people in Gotham who curse like it is second nature. Also sorry for the beginning and Danny mood change, he will have those from his hormones going all over the place. Like real pregnancies. I think? (Can you tell I am ovulating? ToMuchInformationSorry.)
I am trying something new, so please forgive me, this is the first time I am even trying this, and if you don't like it, please tell me 🥲.
PEOPLE TALK IN THIS ONE! LIKE A LOT MORE THEN I LIKE SO PLEASE BE WARNED! If it feels lazy, it's probably because it is. I tried not rushing those parts. So that's why it took forever to get out.
I might update this every other Thursday. But I will try to stick to every Thursday if I can. If I can't post it on that one, then I will post it on the other.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
POV: Danny’s.
Danny is walking to the school, he believes that it’s called Gotham Academy? And apparently it gets attacked a lot by the villains in this city. Just like Amity Park. Danny smiles and walks into the school and to the front desk. He looks around and sees that the inside is… not that much better from the outside. But eh, it's a school with minimal holes in it.
He walks up to the woman at the front desk. She looks up at him, then up and down his whole body, liking sizing him up, then raises an eyebrow at how skinny he is, though the pure white streak of hair that peeks out from behind his left ear, and how pale he is too. “What’s your name?” She asks, not bothering to hide her boredom.
“Danny J. Nightingale.” He responds, voice also bored, but with a hint of ‘I don’t care’ and amusement in his tone. The woman behind the desk eyes widen slightly in recognition and with a hint fear, remembering how his father was, and how he looked fucking scary. And was scary to talk to. Nearly made the principal piss himself when talking to this kid’s father. Now that she thinks about it, this kid’s father also has a pure white streak of hair, and he was pale too.
“Alright, um, take this note, tell your teachers that you will need this note back every time you show it to them, and this is your schedule. Erh, have a nice day.” She says, forcing a smile and a nice tone. Danny side-eyes her, knowing she is faking because of her true feelings that surround her. She starts sweating heavily, but Danny slowly walks out of the front office, eyes never leaving her. She sweats harder when Danny’s eyes glow a faint light green, looking everywhere but Danny and his eyes.
When Danny walks out, he smirks, very happy to have scared the rude fake lady that hides her emotions behind a wall, though maybe it’s normal around here. Hiding to keep safe, lying to also keep safe. Danny looks down at his schedule, feeling slightly guilty for scaring the lady at the front desk, then notices that it has a map attached to it, with lines that are different colors that match the classes he needs to go to. Huh, they must have been very scared of his dad for them to have done this.
Maybe he should just, yeah, he just gets to moving to his first class, thinking about how he needs to apologize to the lady behind the desk, and maybe get her name when he sees her again, anyway back to the classes, which his schedule is… Art, ELA, history, lunch, advanced science, advanced math, and cooking. Yay, he gets to draw for a class, and cook for one. He walks through the halls, following the map, apparently the line for Art is red, pink? Reddish pink. Yeah he will go with that. But seriously why is this color hard to identify? Why can’t it be easier to see the color? Do Gotham people just like to have so many inconvenient things happen in their life?
Anyways, he is getting off topic. But can you blame him for complaining in his mind? No, because everyone does it, some people just say it out loud a lot, and some just over do it.
He follows the reddish pick line all the way to the art room, and looks through the little window on the door when he gets there. The inside is like any other art room, drawing on the walls, hanging from the ceiling, even on the door, though the colors are a little muted. It’s kind of depressing in Danny’s opinion, maybe the city is just like this, from all he has seen of the place. He knocks, waiting to be let in.
“Come on in.” A woman’s voice calls out, a little soft and raspy, likely the teacher’s voice, and Danny does as told and opens the door and walks in. Not a lot of people are in this class yet, maybe because it is early, about 7:37 am. Actually if he looks about, only him and the teacher are in the class right now. He doesn’t really mind though(He doesn’t like people who he doesn’t know touching him, keep that in mind please, it is relevant).
“The ru- the lady at the front desk told me to hand you this note, but I will need it back for the other teachers. She didn’t write more than one.” Danny says as he approaches her desk, handing her the note for her to read, while she does that, he looks over the room to see where her name should be. On the whi- chalk board? Huh, he hasn’t seen one of those in a while, the teacher’s name is Mrs. Tallulah (t(a)-llu-lah), the board also says if the kids can’t say her last name, they can call her Mrs. T.
Mrs. Tallulah’s eyes widen slightly as she reads the note, it doesn’t take long for her to hand it back with a half real half fake smile. Danny takes it, and puts it back in his pocket, “Soo… where am I supposed to sit?” He asks after a moment of awkward silence. And her smile confirms his theory about all Gotham people lying to survive, or at least not get on a powerful person's bad side.
“Oh! You can sit wherever you like in my class. Just don’t go hiding from me now.” Mrs. Tallulah says the last past with a playful wink and finger gun, making Danny a little amused. He nods and goes to find where to sit. It might just be a teacher thing for them to be this awkward with the kids in their classes. Or maybe she is trying to stay on his good side, though it might just be her trying to be a good teacher.
He finds a nice little spot in the back right corner, it is cozy, not too bright, not too dark, just right for him and his needs. And it is cold in that spot, nice. He sits down and waits for the class to start. He is early, he has realized yet again, because the time is now 7:40. So around 7:55 is when a rush of kids will come in, he thinks(The author is home schooled, and I don’t know how school works anymore).
He pulls out his phone and just scrolls through it, putting on his headphones to listen to music while he does, the first song he listens to is “Tea & Toast” by Lucy Spraggen. Every once in a while he will glance up to see if any other student walked in, and every time he does, there are more and more people in the class.
Danny might have jinxed himself when he thought not that many people are in this class. But there is still a lot of room, so he might not have any accidental touches. So, if he just stays in his seat, and makes his aura extend a little bit to make a bubble around himself, his aura is just strong enough to creep the other kids out to keep them away from him. Though he will just have to see if it works, and if it doesn’t, well he tried.
It’s now 7:50, and the class is packed, but not fully, there are still seats for at least 10 people, and those free seats are the bubble around him. Though by the time it is eight in the morning, only four seats are left around him, and the kids that have to sit around him are sweating in nervousness and slight fear. He can tell that they are, their emotions are oozing off them, and he is soaking those emotions up for both Dani and Dan, because they need to feed on human and other creature emotions for them to develop correctly, even animal ones too, or that's what Frostbite told him anyway.
Danny snaps out of it when he feels someone staring at him. He looks around subtly, and as soon as he does start to look for whoever was staring at him, he doesn’t feel it anymore, so he becomes confused but turns back towards the teacher who has started her lesson a few minutes ago. Not thinking much of it. Oh! They are learning about shading right now, cool, he needs that.

POV: Damian’s.
Damian got up like always, going through his routine with practice efficiency. Getting out of bed at 5 am. Walk and feed Titus, feed Alfred the cat, do his morning workout that involves squats, push ups, sit ups, and half a mile run. He takes a short shower, cleans his face, brushes his teeth after his shower, comb his hair, all before breakfast at 6:30 am.
He walks down the stairs to go to breakfast, freshly clean and feeling it, hair slicked back like how he likes it, to eat Alfred’s very delicious food, though he would never admit it out right, but with his actions he does. He was trying to ignore Drake, but when he hears something interesting about a new engineer he can’t help but tune into the conversion, listening to his older brother Drake talk.
“-ery qualified, maybe a little too qualified for the position he chose. But if he is as good as his resume, then he will be climbing the ranks in no time. The background check on him is clean too, so we might have an employee who has never been behind bars, never done anything bad, and is probably just an overall nice guy.” Drake, aka Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne, says, looking at his tablet, scrolling on whatever he is looking at.
“Are you sure the background check was right? Did you do it at least three times?” Richard asks, voice warm with an underlying seriousness to it, as it always is but much more noticeable when he means it.
“Of course I did, I am not the amateur I used to be,” Drake replies with a sigh, then adds while glancing at Damian, then back to Richard, then going back to his tablet, “also, the new engineer has two kids. A boy and a girl, ages 14 and 17.”
Damian perks up a little, but pretends not to care as he continues to eat his food, but he keeps an ear out on their conversion. They both know, and Damian knows they know, but they continue to talk like they don’t. Drake continues to scroll his tablet after watching Richard for a bit.
“Oh? This person has kids? Why didn’t you say that earlier?” Richard says, leaning forward to see what Drake is doing on his tablet. Drake angles himself for Richard to see whatever is on the screen.
“Huh, so that’s what they look like. Is the woman the wife?” Richard asks, pointing to the screen to where Damian thinks the woman is.
“That’s not his wife, it’s his ex-wife. They had a messy divorce leaving the man with only the clothes on his back and his kids. The wife apparently wasn’t fit to take care of the kids.” Drake answers, letting Richard take the tablet from him so he can sip at his coffee and finally start eating his breakfast. Richard might have planned that, but Damian pretends not to notice.
“So that’s code for she is crazy and the kids aren’t safe about her. Is that right? Her- wait what’s this?” Richard moves to hand back the tablet, but something catches his eye and he pulls it back to see what it is.
“Yes the ex-wife is not safe with kids, what I found on her says that she neglected her children often, and that she doesn’t want her son, that was assigned a girl at birth but transitioned to boy, forgot to mention that part. Many believed that was when she started to dislike her child.” Drake says between bites of food, clearly missing what Richard said at the end.
“No no, what’s this?” Richard asks again, turning the tablet back towards Drake, now actively hiding the screen from Damian, it’s not like he could see the screen in the first place. Drake skims the screen, then his hold on his coffee cup tightens a little.
“Well, I didn’t get to that part. Hm… Well, it appears our assessment on Vladimir was wrong in madness, but this was not what I expected.” Drake’s voice sounds cold, that only happens when things get serious. Now Damian really wants to look at what is on the screen of Drake’s tablet, even leaning over slightly to take a look, but Richard doesn’t let him.
“Master Damian, we must be going now if you want to be early for school.” Alfred cuts in, just in time to. Damian nods and finishes up the rest of his breakfast.
After he gets done with his food he moves to follow Alfred to the car to let Alfred drive him to school, a place he can’t believe he has to go to. He has learned everything before coming to live with his father, but he must go to this hellscape of a place to blend in with normal society.
Alfred turns on the radio and the song “Run Boy Run” by Woodkid starts playing. The lyrics are a little too close to home for Damian, but the song is… very well done. And Alfred seems to know that Damian likes the song playing on the radio so he keeps it on for Damian to continue to listen to, Alfred really likes this song too, but he doesn’t show it. Because he is the butler and he has to keep up his professionalism around his bosses. Even if they see him as their pseudo grandfather/father.
The butler seems to know everything, but Damian has stopped trying to make reason with it. It simply can’t have reason. He pulls out his phone and scrolls though the family group chat. Reading through the messages he ignores a lot. Cat pictures here, case files there. Gifs everywhere, seriously, everywhere, mostly from Richard because that man cannot resist doing no matter what.
“Tt. Why must he always do that?” Damian mutters to himself. But continues to look through the messages with mild annoyance. When he finally gets to the end, he turns his phone off. Then looks out of the window to watch the familiar landscape pass by.
When Alfred pulls up to the school, it is around 7:29, so Damian walks out and right into the school. Walking to the library to wait until it is socially time to walk to class. He picks a book to read while waiting, even though he won’t finish it, though he might check it out if he likes it. He chooses the book called “Sounder” By William H. Armstrong.(It's a book I have laying around my room and it is a real book, a very good one too.)
It’s a thin book, couldn’t be over 120 pages. He settles down in a chair nearby and gets to reading until it is at least 7:50 am. Ignoring when some people stare at him, ignoring when they still try to talk with him. His face in a scowl, but focused on the book in his hands. It’s quite a good book.
When it’s around 7:53, Damian walks up to the librarian, putting the book on her desk. “I’d like to check this book out.” Is all he says, and she does check it out, because this child is scary.
“Here you go, have a nice day.” The librarian says, glancing around. Not wanting to have eye contact with Damian, which all he does is take the book and leave. Leaving her without saying anything else, without looking back at her. Just leaving her to sweat in nervousness.
It’s around 7:55 now when he enters the art class room. He looks around like always, and when his eyes land on a new student he has never seen before, he feels a warmth in his chest. This is not something he hasn’t felt before. Why does this boy look… pretty? Beautiful feels more accurate for this stunning person.
When he finally gets moving again, when had he stopped? he can’t stop staring, he sits in his normal spot in the left corner, where some light reaches but not too much. Though the boy has jet black hair, darker than his own, and it is long, so it is in a low bun. The boy is also very pale, riveling Drake in color, even his eyebags. The boy has Lichtenberg marks peeking out from his shirt, stopping just under his jaw line.
Damian can’t stop staring, taking in every detail he can, and he must have been staring for a while because the boy turns around to see who is staring, and Damian quickly looks at the teacher. Trying to focus on what Mrs. Tallulah is talking about. After a few minutes, he finally gets himself to stop glancing back every few seconds.
Mrs. Tallulah is talking about how to properly shade art pieces. Too bad for him, because he already knows this. He draws to distract himself. And it works, so he just does that. Drawing. But what is this emotion still bubbling up in his chest?

POV: Tim
Tim watches Damian leave for school, then turns back to Dick with a serious face, scrolling through all the bullshit Vladimir Masters profile that is his life.
“This is bad. This is very bad. How can someone do that to a child? We live in Gotham and this is bad. Hell, worse even.” Dick whispers, horrified and angry at what this sick fuck has done. He watches Tim continue to scroll, color draining from his face the more he reads. Tim’s hand on his coffee mug gets tighter and tighter.
“... This is one of the worst cases we have seen I- I don’t know how this went on for 5 fucking years. This might be the reason the family moved here, for safety. And this… this monster went for the young boy's mom at first, but then he changed his sights to the young boy.” Tim whispers back, reading from the information on the screen, ignoring his food and coffee, his appetite gone.
“5 years? That went on for five years?” Dick snaps his head to Tim, not wanting to believe what his younger brother said. Tim can only nod in response. Dick stands up abruptly, taking the tablet from Tim’s hand.
“What are you doing? Why did you take my tablet?” Tim asks quickly, standing up to and following Dick closely when he starts moving away. When he doesn’t say anything, which isn’t normal, Tim just continues to follow Dick, not quite knowing where they are going yet.
After a few twists and turns, Tim finally knows where they are heading, to Bruce’s study. He looks at Dick, then back to where they are heading. He slows his pace just a little bit so that he is just a few steps behind his older brother.
Dick bursts in, not even knocking. “Read this and tell us what you think of Vlad Masters after you do.” His voice is cold, waiting for his father to read. Ignoring the little startled sound he made.
“Is there something wrong? What of Vlad should I be worried about?” Bruce’s face shows worry, his voice, he gathers himself and takes a deep breath, watching Tim gesture for him to read. Bruce sighs and begins to read. And when he does, his Batman persona comes out the more he reads.
The front door opens, and Alfred walks in, having gotten back from dropping off Damian at school. When he notices that no one is in the dining room, and that most of the food is still on the table and not eaten, he knows something is wrong. So, he goes to find where his grandchildren Masters are. One may say he is worried, but he will say it is professionalism.
Tim and Dick are watching as Bruce continues to read through everything. His expression is getting darker and darker. Though it breaks when they all hear Alfred’s footsteps coming closer and closer. Bruce takes a breath and tries to calm down, but how can he when this child has gone through this?
Alfred knocks on Bruce’s study door, “Master Bruce, where did Master Dick and Master Tim disappear to?” He asks through the door, voice calm and professional, his British accent soft but strong, unaware that all three are in there.
“Come in Alfred, the doors opened.” Bruce calls out for him to enter, and Alfred does walk in. Then his eyes widen just slightly at the sight of both Tim and Dink inside the room with Bruce. But only slightly, because professionalism.
“Well, there you both are, why haven’t you finished your breakfast?” Alfred asks with a slightly raised eyebrow. Looking at both of them, waiting for an answer from at least one of them. Dick clears his throat to respond but Tim beats him to it.
“A case got our attention. Sorry Alfred, we will go eat the rest now.” Tim mumbles, walking out to finish his breakfast. Dick following soon after, leaving Bruce with Tim’s tablet to continue to read through the information about the Nightingale family. And this was all just a look into the new employee for the engineer part of the company. How can this family be like this? How did they end up like this? And why does it all revolve around Daniel J. Nightingale?
Notes:
Pages: 9
The Tallulah means "Leaping water", it is a Native American name. It is also known as the Choctaw word for “leaping water.” Yee.
All the songs in this story is all the ones I am listening to at the moment of writing. So, if you don't like it, make up one in your mind to replace the song I wrote down. Or if don't know the song, listen to it(You don't have to) and make your own opinion(You still don't have to).
Also the book in here is very real. The page count in is is 116 exactly.

Chapter Text
POV: Damian
Why hasn’t this emotion gone away? It’s so warm, almost hot, uncomfortably so. Mrs. Tallulah has shown hatching, cross hatching, stippling (just dots, better with a pen or pinpoint sharpie), and blending techniques for art. The students do their project in silence, some listening to their own playlists on their phones. Though Damian does glance back at the boy that caught his eye every few seconds.
His cheeks flush faintly every time he looks over to the boy, each time he takes in more details. The pale skin, almost sickly, and this new feeling comes in, almost like concern for this boy. Because this boy is almost too pale, even paler than Drake, which is a cause for concern,
The hair which is black, almost like a void, though there is white, pure white, sprinkled in, making the boy’s hair like stars against the night sky. It’s messy, but it just makes the boy look even more… beautiful. The boy has his back to Damian, so he can’t see the boy’s face. The boy is focused on the assessment for the class.
The boy’s body shape, and Damian shouldn’t be thinking this and he knows that, it’s perfect. His waist is small, not that big, compared to the other boys, almost like a girl’s. Pear shaped, that is the words Damian was thinking. If he takes a closer look, the boy does look more feminine then the boys, like he is a girl, but he might just be born that way.
His hips, god those hips, they are big, like his hands won’t be able to hold them properly, that’s how big they are. Almost like everything the boy eats goes to his thighs and hips. Not leaving anything for the rest of the body. He does have a little bulge in the stomach, but it just adds to the boy’s beauty. His arms are a little thin, so is his top half, but he looks like he eats well. The food just knows where to go.
And those thighs… Damian knows that when someone sits down, their thighs look bigger because of gravity causing the tissue to compress and spread outwards, making the thighs look bigger but with this boy, his thighs are twice the size of Damian’s hand when he sits down. He wonders what it will look like when he stands up. His face flushes more, but still subtle, somehow keeping enough composure to stay calm.
He stares longer than he knows he should, feeling like a creep for how long he stares, and he forces himself to stop staring and get started on his own shading, and he just now realizes he hasn’t even started, so he gets started, feeling the urge to look back up to the boy, but he stomps that down. Not wanting to think of himself as a creep, and not wanting to be seen as a creep by others either.
He wants to have a chance with this boy, he wants to get to know him, his name, his personality, what he likes, what he doesn’t, just everything about him. Damian takes a deep breath, and tries to put his mind on art, not this boy he doesn’t know the name of.
Damian draws a cone, then shades it by hatching, which is just thin light lines, not like dragging the pencil on the paper, because that is just coloring in. Not shading. With hatching you need to lift your pencil after each stroke, making sure it’s light, and dark. Making it look as realistic as he can.
“Remember class, I grade on effort, if it is mediocre, I will grade it as mediocre.” Mrs. Tallulah says, pointedly looking at the students who barely try in this class, and those kids erase, then retry when the teacher raises an eyebrow. Damian smirks at those kids, because of course it is those four specific kids. It is them every time.
The boy that caught his eye is clearly focused on the shading, almost like he didn’t hear anything the teacher said. The teacher walks around the room, looking at the students' work on shading, giving advice for the ones struggling. The boy though, he is focused, like he is in a trance on the shading.
~~~___~~~
POV: Danny
Danny can feel someone staring at him, looking over his body, clearly taking it in, and he tries his best to ignore it, just focus on the art assessment, uncomfortable with someone watching him. Not liking attention being on him for a prolonged amount of time. But the stares feel… appreciative? Nothing like Vlad’s stares, those feel oily. Nasty. Possessive.
He manages not to look around, and he feels the person's gaze leave and return throughout the class period. Danny is still uncomfortable with the attention, but the gaze, once again, doesn’t feel creepy, he hasn’t felt a gaze like that from anyone. From someone he doesn’t know, his old classmates back at Amity Park just looked at him like he was weird. Or some price to win and keep for themselves. Or like he is a monster.
The teacher said something, but Danny didn’t hear her, he just continues doing his best with the shading. And over the class period, he becomes so focused on the assignment he loses track of time. He is so into it, Mrs. Tallulah leaves him alone, because she is teaching the kids to get in that mind set of total focus.
She walks around, giving advice to those who need it. Danny gets so focused on the shading, the aura around him he put up at the beginning of the class, goes down, because he needs to focus to keep it up, but his focus is elsewhere, and you all know where. So, everyone who was forced to sit next to him calms down, and they had trouble shading because of how uncomfortable they were. But they can draw and shade now, much better and more comfortably.
They work in silence, and Danny once again feels a glance thrown his way, and he once again ignores it, just working on his assignment, not wanting to pay attention to starers.
…
…
The bell rings, signaling the end of class, and Danny stands up to leave, looking at his schedule to see what class he needs to go to next. God fucking dammit, it’s gym. He sighs and walks off, looking at the number for the class, huh, it just says GYM 1? So there is another gym? Oh well, he walks off to find it.
Turning left when he leaves the art room, walking down the hall, then taking another left. Walking past the main hall, which is the math hall way that heads straight outside to where the buses are for the afternoon, plus the library is down that hall, past the stairs for the classes up there, which is social studies, not history, and science. He doesn’t need to go up yet, and he walks the long way to the gym. Walking past the large windows that show the track and basketball fields.
It takes him a bit to find it, because of how large the school is, though he finds it. Lucky him… well anyway, he walks in, moving just a little hesitant. He spots the teacher and walks over.
“Hello… I am the new student, I believe this is my class?” Danny says, trying to hide his nerves. He almost does, but a little slips out. The gym teacher looks at Danny, up and down, then nods.
“What’s your name kid?” The teacher asks, waiting for an answer while looking at his roster, taking attendance with pencil and paper. Putting a check beside each kid present, and an X beside the ones not present.
“Danny J. Nightingale.” Danny does indeed answer, watching as the teacher pauses, then looks back at Danny. The teacher's face drains slightly of color, and Danny hands the teacher the note from the desk, “I’ll need the note back when you're done reading it.” Danny says, hold the note out for the teacher to take.
The teacher takes it, reading it quickly, then the gym teacher ‘s face flashes with realization, and then understanding. He nods and hands the note back to Danny, and then marks him as here. Danny moves to wait near the bleachers, looking through his bag to munch on something, he needs it. Which you can do at this school, for some reason? (I am going off how my school does with food) Danny finds a rice crispy with chocolate drizzle on it. And just eats it, sliding down to sit.
Once he is sitting, still eating his rice crispy, he watched the other kids do stretches. While that happens, the teacher moves to get out… dodge balls. Danny’s really good at dodging, from all the countless times he had to fight his ‘rogue gallery’, more like his friends they just play roughly. It is the nature of a ghost, after all.
It does not take long before the teacher comes back with the dodge balls in a mesh bag he holds with one hand. He places the balls on the middle line of the gym floor, then stands up when he is done. Then blows his whistle, getting the kids' attention, who were all chatting a little loudly, Danny being left alone because he is new and doesn’t know anyone.
“Alright, I will put you all on a team, and everyone will be on a team, Danny, if you want, you can sit this one out,” The teacher waits for Danny to nod before talking again, “there will be two teams. And I will pare you all up, not just friends with friends, you will be with someone you don’t really know, so get to know each other. Who knows, you might make a new friend.” The teacher finishes off, looking over the kids.
Danny has to sit this one out, his stomach acting up, most likely morning sickness. And he wasted a really good rice crispy treat, damn.
What a shame. What a shame. God that was a good treat.
Danny stands up slowly, putting a hand on his stomach protectively, and he walks over to the gym teacher. The teacher notices quickly, and meets Danny half way, “You alright kid?” He asks.
Danny shakes his head, then whispers just loud enough for the teacher to hear, making sure no one else can hear, “Morning sickness, may I go to the bathroom?” He asks, hoping for a yes.
The teacher nods quickly, “Go, take as long as you need. I won’t keep you like this if you feel bad.” The teacher whispers back just as quietly. Danny leaves as fast as he can without being suspicious, not wanting to be called out on his first day of school.
POV: Damian
Damian shakes his head, unable to take the image of the boy out of his mind. He is supposed to be taking a test, not thinking of the boy that caught his eye. He sighs, then continues to try to take his test, mathematics. It is usually easy for him, considering he is far above college level.
He doesn’t understand why his father sends him here, but he can be… grateful now that he has something to look forward to. He shakes his head, and begins trying to do his test again. He can’t believe he has to actually try though, he never needed to before.
Well, there are first times for everything.
It takes him far more time to finish his test than he would like to admit. But he is still the first to turn it in. Damian looks at the teacher,(math guys, the math teacher) and says, “I am going to the restroom.” He says curtly before doing that, leaving for the bathroom with a hall pass, because he is not stupid. And the teacher is too much of a wuss to stop him, hell, all the teachers are not scared to stop the Ice Prince from leaving the class whenever he wishes. But at least he comes back in the five minutes the students have to use the restrooms. And he doesn't abuse this power, only using it when he needs to.
When Damian gets to the bathroom, he walks in and immediately hears someone barfing their guts up, not unusual in Gotham. He rolls his eyes and moves to the stall at the end, but just as he enters, in the corner of his eye, he sees the boy from earlier walk out of the only other closed stall.
So the boy was the one being sick, must be first day jitters, He watches the boy move to the sink, and pulls out a toothbrush and toothpaste, must be common for him if he has to carry around those things. A ping of concern hits him, which he ignores. Or tries to ignore.
Damian goes into the stall he usually goes in, knowing he was staring again for too long at the boy again, having taken in his curves again. He really can’t stop though, there is this pull to the boy that he can quite place. Like they are meant to be together. But that sounds creepy, even to himself.
After he does his business, he moves to wash his hands, expecting the boy to still be in the bathroom because he hadn’t heard him leave. But when he moves to wash his hands, the boy isn’t there. Damian keeps in his disappointed sigh, he really wanted to ask for the boy’s name.
He dries his hands when he gets done washing them, refusing to use the air dryers, using the brown paper towels(You all know which ones). The air dryers are too loud for his liking. He heads back to class when he is done, he would be lying when he said he wasn’t rushing just to see which class the boy has for this period.
Huh, the boy has gym for this period? He hopes the gym teacher isn’t pushing the boy too much. Damian heads to his class, walking a little faster than he would normally. Having to do so for lost time, that boy is going to get him in trouble one day, and the scary part about that is, he isn’t afraid of it. Looking forward to it even.
Damian shakes his head, trying to get those thoughts out of his head. What is wrong with him today? What are these feelings coursing through him? Why is he feeling concern for this… this stranger? Why is he feeling anything for this boy? This light feeling in his chest, the fluttering of his gut when he thinks, sees, or even breathes near this boy. What is that? And why is it happening to him now?
He sighs this time and knocks on the math teacher's door to be let in. A student sees him through the narrow window, and jolts up to let him in. When inside the classroom, he puts up the hall pass, and marks down the time, then moves to his spot and sits down, pulling out a book, the one from the library, and begins to read it, waiting for the other kids to get done with their tests.
POV: Danny
Danny’s third period wasn’t all that bad, even though it was History, and he was getting stared at again. He looks around again, but the same thing that happened that morning, happens again. The person staring at him quickly looks away, wait, did he look around in the morning? It felt like he did. But it is possible that he just thought about looking around.
Anyway, he is in AT(academic time), and he has first lunch. So right after this, he plays one his messed up phone, with cracks and black spots on the screen. He plays the game, ‘number match’.
It doesn’t take long before the bell rings and he leaves for his lunch. He moves through the halls, taking a right as he leaves English class, then once he gets to the main hall, he hangs a left and hugs the right side of the hallway.
He passes the math classes, because the main hall is also the math hall, then the bathrooms, literally just a girls bathroom and a boys bathroom, then hangs a right to the cafeteria. He walks in, then loosely turns right again to get in line for food.
It takes him like 6 minutes before he can get his food, he walks out once he gets his food and moves to find a place to sit. But the lunch lady stops him, “Hun, you have to put your number in.” She says. loud enough to be heard over the sea of voices.
“Oh, uh… I don’t know it?” Danny says to her, holding his plate of food in one hand while the other scratches his cheek in embarrassment.
The lunch lady nods, then pulls out a pen and sticky note pad, clicks the pen once, so that she can write with it, then looks up at him. “Your name please?” She asks, clearly trying to be sweet. So the word about him has gotten around.
“Danny.” Is all he says, watching her face contort in confusion.
“I need more than that hun. What’s your last name?” She begins typing in his first name, waiting for his last name.
Danny sighs, because how many times does he have to say his name today, he is getting a little irritated. Unbeknownst to him, his aura around him has gotten a little darker, more suffocating to be around him. The lunch lady tenses, Danny doesn’t notice, “Nightingale.” He says, irritation clear in his voice.
The lunch lady’s face pales and she nods, quickly telling him his number, then Danny walks away to find a table to sit at. When he finds a table that is completely empty, he takes the farthest seat away from everyone and begins to eat. Unaware of the person walking up behind him, as Danny is focused on his phone, not needing to eat at the moment, maybe after the next 3 days he will eat.
The person reaches out, and places their hand on his shoulder. Danny tenses. Then whips around, hand in a ball, aiming for the person’s nose. His fist contacts with this person’s nose, sending them back a little. He might have not held back his strength as much as he should have.
The person’s, no, the boy’s nose starts dripping blood, sliding down his cheek, down his chin, blood droplets landing on the boy’s chest, who was knocked on his ass. Looking up at Danny, a mix of confusion, shock, and what seems like… admiration.
Everyone is staring, because this only happens in a few seconds. Very quickly started, and quickly ended. A teacher sees this, and runs over to get ready to pry apart these two students, but nothing happens, as Danny sits back down, and begins playing on his phone again.
Danny gets pulled away, and so does the boy. “You are in big trouble mister!” A teacher says, not one Danny knows. Clearly aiming it at Danny, which he does feel bad, immediately regretting it once he did it. But, he doesn’t like to be touched without seeing that person who wants to touch him.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, truly! I got startled! And I don’t like being touched.” Danny tries to justify why he did that. But the teacher doesn’t listen, still dragging them both to the principal office. Going right once out of the cafeteria, then walking until reaching the door on the right, which is the main office. They head in, taking yet another right, then walking past four doors, heading straight to the principal's office.
They burst in, the teacher not knocking, and forces both Danny and they boy down, and ha finally has the courage to look over to the boy, and he has green eyes, light dark skin, slicked back black hair, he is a little taller than Danny is, and he has some bulk on him. The boy is staring at Danny, still, like he hasn’t looked away from him when he looked at Danny’s face.
Danny looks away, toning out the teacher who is yelling about something, Danny doesn’t know what, liking about him punching a student. He shifts a little, getting more comfortable, knowing he is going to be here for a while. Though Danny does feel a little bad for the boy, he is red in the face, blood still dripping down, but at a slower pace now. Staring at Danny still, but he feels like he can let the boy, he did punch him after all. Ignoring how the staring feels, but it doesn't feel bad, it just feels admiring, star struck even.
POV: Damian
Damian is heading to lunch, AT is over, walking past all the people, who give him a wide berth. Once he makes his way into the cafeteria, going through the line easily, putting in his number, and making his way to his usual spot to the table no one wants. He claimed it as his own. But someone is there, just sitting there, they- no, the boy from earlier, from first period, is on his phone, playing on it and ignoring the food in front of him. A hint of concern hits him again.
He walks up to the boy, thinking about how he will iterate with the boy. He really wants to see his face, his hand moving out without him knowing, his legs moving him closer.
His hand lands on the boy’s shoulder, and within a blink of an eye, he lands on his ass, looking up at the boy in front of him. He pauses, because what is this beauty in front of him? It’s the boy? The boy has delicate features, high cheek bones, rosey pink lips, a little plump, but not too much, soft looking.
And his eyes, oh those eyes, they are an icy blue, more blue than Damian has ever seen. They almost glow with how icy blue they are. The boy’s hair from the front perfectly frames his face, his cheeks a little round, giving him an innocent look, his eyes are soft too. The boy's eyebrows are thin, but slightly bushy, making him even more beautiful.
He feels a thick liquid flowing down his lips, some darting off to the side and going down his cheek, then his chin, which drips down to his chest. It is likely blood, but he can’t feel the pain, not yet at least. He can tell his face is flushed, but he is too shocked and starstruck, he can’t bring himself to care about what others are seeing him right now. Not caring how his reputation has shaken.
By the time he looks around, he finds himself in the principal's office, and the boy is sitting beside him, leaning forward, his legs crossed, an elbow on his right one to rest his head on his hand. Looking… just wow, Damian can’t get over this boy's beauty.
Damian might be in love with this boy, and he still doesn’t know his name. He will have to ask for the boy’s name soon.
Notes:
Pages: 10
Seriously though, sorry for the lateness, I think I should just drop the schedule thing and post when I can 😑.
Does Damian feel possessive in this chapter? I try not to do that with my characters be like that, mainly because I don't like it in real life. But I think I can write it like this? Will you guys like that, or would you like something else?
I forgot he had a set schedule, so lets just say he got a change to his. Off the 'screen' like they do in movies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
The gym teacher appearance and a little back ground: He looks about 30-35 years old, a little bald spot on the back of his head, small, just starting to become noticeable. He is pale. His hair is black. Just black. He has light freckles, he had a soft Roman nose shape. He is on the shorter side, like 5'6-5'7. He has lean muscles, a little toothbrush mustaches. Bushy eyebrows, but not to bushy. He has a scar on his left shoulder, about middle finger length, but pinky in width(Talking about the thinness). He is divorced, and is a girl dad of three. Eldest 16, youngest 10. Middle is 13. I NEED A NAME FOR THIS MAN!! PLEASE HELP ME!!
