Chapter Text
Damian couldn't think.
His mind was racing. He would never have imagined that his brother (mentor? father figure?) was a vampire, was a traitor.
the moment he ripped out his father's heart, the moment he almost broke Cassandra's neck, the moment he crushed Tim's head.
Damian felt hate, utter hate, but at the same time, he couldn't move properly.
he couldn't attack.
he would not be able to face the demon that now used his brother's body
he wouldn't be able to face Dick.
but unfortunately, it seems that Dick realized that Damian was still there before the boy could move to get away.
the blood covering the nightwing suit. The twisted smile on the vampire's face
then Damian managed to transform his hatred into strength to at least get up. But Damian couldn't stay there, he knew he would die if he stayed, he didn't want to die now along with his father and brother.
Dick takes a few steps closer to Damian. "It's a shame that you're the only thing that will still remember your father's legacy," Dick says.
This only makes Damian angrier, how could he betray Batman after everything? How could he have the audacity to destroy the family he fought so hard to keep together?
He broke something he fixed himself.
"You're dead Grayson!!" Damian grabs his bow as he launches a few arrows with sharp points, but Grayson blocks them with ease as he approaches Damian.
Damian realizes he is cornered, he wonders if he will die alone, at least Alfred and the others would be far away.
But before Dick can grab the boy, someone else joins the battle
Jason Todd
the black sheep of the family
"You can't beat Jason" Dick begins as he tries to land some kicks. "I'm better than you every time We face off. And now, i’m god like”
"I was just holding back" Jason replies as he punches Dick
Damian watches as Dick still tries to convince Jason to join him. But it was clear that Jason was also getting the worst of it, the two were evenly matched.
When Jason seemed to corner Dick against the wall and make his final blow, Damian saw something in the corner of his eye.
Diana
She was free, and was heading towards Jason's neck.
Damian doesn't think twice before running towards his brothers and pushing Todd away.
"Now Arrow!" Jason shouts, Damian doesn't understand, not until he sees an arrow hit Diana's chest.
Damian and Jason take advantage of this distraction to flee the scene, but the submarine was already far from them.
So they had no choice
but to stay in Gotham
…
