Neal was eating bread at a maid cafe, while wearing a maid outfit, (Why you may ask? Idk it came up in an Izzy stream anyway) when suddenly he heard the familiar voice of the brute tagger walking through the door, which of course panicked all of the runners inside. A tagger walking into the door of a runner’s haven isn’t exactly the most positive thing for anyone logical, but Dexter’s presence didn’t disturb Neal.
“Oh, hey Dex.” he said while eating some bread. “Hey, Neal...didn’t really expect you of all people to be here.” He replied. “Well, I can say the same thing to you, so let’s just not ask questions.” Dex sighed and agreed to not ask and sat across from Neal, blushing lightly from the ridiculousness of the situation. “Want some bread?” Neal offered. Dex declined. “I would buy something else but everyone kinda ran…” “Yeah that’s unfortunate. I think there’s still some food at that old cabin we were in. Wanna go?” Neal offered as he took another chomp out of his bread.
“Fine, no reason not to. Just let the others know where we are in case we die or something.” Dexter and Neal get up and leave for the woods where the cabin should be, Neal slightly shivering from the cold of the winter night. “A- are we there yet..?” “Not yet, Neal.” In about 10 minutes, they spotted the abandoned cabin and Neal immediately ran in, followed by Dex. Neal happily pulled out a loaf of bread and a small pack of water from one of the cabinets. “Food and water is good and all but I’m more worried of freezing to death.” Dex commented. The sun was setting so they had to figure out heat, and fast. It was snowing and they had no matches so fire wasn’t much of an option, they had no sleeping bags, and the cabin was worn down and didn’t have any insulation.
“I mean…I have one idea but it’s a bit odd to say the least.” “A- Any idea is better than f- freezing, so just s- spit it out, Dex.” Neal was shivering badly, Dex could almost see him turning blue in front of him. “We could…” Dex trailed off. “Cough cough share body heat..?” Dex recommended. Neal was opposed to the idea but there simply was no other option, so he reluctantly agreed. The both of them laid on the cold wooden floor, Neal slowly moving over to him before settling against Dexter’s chest.
“Just to specify, this doesn’t mean anything.” Dex wrapped an arm around Neal before drifting asleep with Neal following shortly after. A couple hours later, light footsteps were heard outside, stirring both Neal and Dex awake. “Who the hell could that be at this hour..?” Dex groaned tiredly. The door to the room opened, revealing Anaiyah behind it. “Oh, when I said ‘maybe Neal could take you on that offer.’ I didn’t think you’d actually do it.” Anaiyah teased. Both of them blushed as they stammered an explanation. “S- so basically i- it was reallyyyyy cold an-“ Anaiyah cut them off by taking a photo with her phone. “This will be great in the group chat.”
