Stolen Gem(but fun comes along)

Summary:

Opeli lost her entire afternoon due to someone stealing a gem but that same someone did stick around her office to spend some time with her like planned.

Work Text:

Opeli walked down the long halls of the Council building with annoyance filling her entire being. Almost her entire afternoon was taken up by someone committing a crime. A gem and a notebook was stolen, a laboratory ruined with paint and an explosion on one half of the room, half a dozen guards were dead, one guard injured, and a building burnt to bits. She knew it was probably wrong to be annoyed at this, people were killed and someone was hurt.

But her afternoon was stolen from her, all over a single gem and she's allowed to be annoyed by that. Especially since she had plans to meet up with a certain someone in her office but that was no longer on the table, he would be gone by the time she got there. Opeli let out a sigh and ran her hands over her robes before folding them in front of her, nodding at the Guards that patrolled the halls whenever they passed by her.

“Lady Opeli!” Opeli paused at the familiar voice. She turned slightly to see Pharos, Karims loyal follower, rushing towards her. Once he caught up to her, they fell into step together. “Is something wrong?” Opeli knew Karim was in charge of finding whoever stole the gem which meant Pharos should be helping him, not talking to her.

“No, nothing is wrong.” Pharos folded his hands behind his back. “But I would like to discuss a certain…rumor with you.” Opeli raised a brow.

“Rumor?” Opeli smiled a bit, maybe her afternoon wasn't completely ruined. Pharos was offering her some entertainment. “I didn't know you'd listen to those.” Pharos let out a quiet laugh.

“Typically I do not, they're mostly false anyhow but I'd figure you'd deserve to know about this one.” Opeli hummed as they got closer and closer to her office. “How come?” Opeli looked at the man walking beside her.

“It has to do with you.” Opeli’s brows furrowed slightly as she frowned. “What?” Opeli paused, Pharos took a few more steps before noticing and pausing as well.

Pharos turned to look at her, a brief look of remorse passed through his features. “People are saying, every afternoon in your office, you meet up with the most wanted criminal in Xadia.” Opeli's frown deepened. Pharos gave a weak smile in response. “I know it's not true, you're too loyal to Xadia and your lawful oath to do that.” Opeli hummed, her frown disappearing.

“But others don't believe that.” Opeli gave a small nod, rubbing the back of her hand with her thumb. “Thank you for telling me.” Pharos nodded.

“Of course, have a good night Lady Opeli.” Pharos continued on his way. Opeli frowned as she made her way to her office, letting out another sigh once she reached the door. Opeli opened the door and quickly stepped inside before closing it behind her.

She closed her eyes as she pushed back her hood. Did someone see something? Soren always claimed to stay out of sight, unseen by Guards and civilians as he essentially broke into her office. A sharp low whistle caused her to open her eyes and look around her office. Opeli saw no one, like she was completely alone. “Who's this pretty lady?” Opeli smiled at the voice, relaxing as she walked towards her desk.

Soren.” She looked around once again, unable to find him. Soren let out a laugh, light and full of life. “I'm not a pretty lady, haven't been for a while.” Soren let out a soft hum.

But I've been told I'm quite the pretty boy.” Opeli rolled her eyes as she pulled out her chair and sat down. “Why are you hiding then?” Opeli took off her robe, letting it pool around her hips as she leaned against her chair.

Soren finally came out of hiding, smoothly moving from out of the shadows like a cat. He smiled at her as he locked her office door, biting his bottom lip. Opeli raised a brow as she stared at him, looking him over. Her eyes lingered on the trail of hair that went down below his pants and up to the buckle on the band of his top. Opeli noticed that Soren kept one hand behind his back before the other joined.

“Hiding something?” Sorens smile seemed to grow as he made his way over to her desk. His long braids swished like two cat tails. “Maybe.” Soren was sitting on her desk with his feet resting on the arms of her chair faster than she could blink.

Opeli gently hit the side of his knee with her knuckles. Soren pulled his hands from out behind his back. In the palm of one hand was the stolen gem while the other hovered over it a bit like he was showing off a magic trick. “Pretty huh?” Opeli stared at Sorens face. His eyes were bright as he smiled at her.

“Yes, it is quite pretty.” Opeli looked at the gem for a moment before looking at him again. “Where'd you get it?” Soren let out a small hum as he moved his head as if to say ‘you already know’.

“Don't you work with the dummies that make all the rules?” Soren raised a brow, a teasing smile making way onto his face. “Or did you miss me so much you weren't paying attention?” Opeli raised a brow at the question.

She did miss him, she always did but he spent the night with her so she didn't miss him enough to not pay attention. “I'm kidding.” Soren leaned in close, their lips almost touching. Opeli glanced at his lips, quickly wiping her tongue over her own. “I know that.” Opeli looked back into his eyes.

She saw Soren tuck away the gem from the corner of her eye. “Then why are you looking at me like that?” Soren pouted lightly, bumping their noses together. “Because it wasn't one of your better jokes.” Soren rolled his eyes.

“You're so mean to me.” Soren moved closer, their lips even closer. She could feel his breath against her lips, it was cold and made it feel as if the wind of winter was blowing against her lips. “You're so dramatic.” Opeli moved a bit closer, bringing a hand to his hip.

Soren smiled before connecting their lips. He brought a hand up to hold her face, cradling it carefully just like he does with his make-shift bombs. Opeli let Soren push her back against her chair before climbing into her lap as he brought his other hand to her face. Opeli brought her unoccupied hand up to the side of Sorens chest, two of her fingers slipping under his shirt and underneath one of his breasts.

Soren hummed against her lips, pressing closer. Opeli brought her hand from his hip to the side of his neck. When Sorens tongue brushed against her bottom lip before slipping into her mouth, it felt like all of her senses were suddenly heightened. “Soren.” Her voice felt weak, she barely recognized it.

“Opeli.” Soren smiled, sounding amused at how she sounded. Opeli pulled him closer, wanting more. She could feel him smile against her lips as he pulled her face closer to his. When they parted, it felt like she couldn't breathe. “I-” Opeli was cut off by a sharp knock on her office door.

Soren pouted as he turned to face the door. “I suppose that's my cue to leave.” Soren moved off of her in order to stand. Opeli moved to follow but Soren was quicker as he placed his hands on the arms of her chair. “But I'll see you soon.” Soren smiled.

Opeli held her breath as Soren leaned in close. “After all, I have a new toy for us to try out.” Soren pulled away with a smile, before his eyes fell onto her groin. “Better hide that before opening the door.” Opeli nodded as Soren walked towards the windows.

He's overly confident.
