Work Text:

The streets were buzzing with the chatter of various people.

Some who were talking amongst each other, some who were eating, sharing food, their eyes shining with happiness.

People in their own orbits, having the time of their lives alone, with friends, or their significant others.

For the first time sylus did not envy the latter group of people, instead he enjoyed seeing how their eyes shone bright, clearly in love with each other.

Sylus felt thankful that he was fortunate enough to experience the thing he had envied the most in the past.

Love.

Such a simple word for something that consumed his being every day, the single thing that motivated him to get up and live another day.

For his love,

A woman he thought he would never be fortunate enough to receive a second chance with.

The same woman who was standing right beside him, offering him a sip of her drink.

He was thankful that he was fortunate enough to receive a second chance at love, though he hoped this wasn't his last.

He wanted to follow her wherever she goes, always being there next to her, preferably holding her hand.

He wanted to wake up next to her, over and over again until his brain memorized every molecule of her.

He wanted to enjoy the simple mundane moments of life, things that he never thought to stop and appreciate before.

He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

—-

He was walking hand in hand with her, an activity he always liked.

Stopping at the weirdest food stalls, something that made Sylus overwhelmed when he first stepped in here, now he was used to it, maybe would even go further to say like it.

Of Course he was skeptical at first, trying food with quite possibly the most obscure names he’d ever heard.

He never had the luxury to grab a cup of hot chocolate while eating a corn dog, one that she made him try.

She taught him how to let his guard down, she taught him how to stop and admire the flowers blooming on the street, the same ones he would've passed by without a second thought.

She taught him love, and for that he is forever grateful to her.

-

She was talking to him. He tried his hardest to listen not because he was uninterested but because he was mesmerized, mesmerized by how her mouth moved when she talked.

Mesmerized by how her facial expressions change, giving life to her words and most of all he was mesmerized by her beauty, The fact that he could stare at her for hours without getting bored, The way the buzzing noise of the market seemed to pause when he looked at her.

How the soft glow of the moon shines down on her, making her look like an angel descended from heaven, with the whole purpose of unraveling him, with the whole purpose of breaking him into pieces and carefully mending each piece.

How the soft glow of the moon shines down on her, making her look like an angel descended from heaven, with the whole purpose of unraveling him, breaking him into pieces and to carefully sew each piece back together.

She was his unravelling and he would gladly unravel at her hands.
