Chapter Text
Gabriel woke on the remains of a human bed, dried blood staining his armor. He wasn’t dead. He was supposed to be dead. The Machine was supposed to kill him, but instead it had just sort of… grabbed him. Everything past that was a blur.
“Why am I alive?” He said out loud.
To his surprise, he heard an electronic chirp in response.
He shifted, pulling his head up enough to scan his surroundings.
The machine was sitting on a table across from him. Not attacking him, not saying anything, just kicking its feet.
It made another chirping noise. It wasn’t any human language Gabriel knew, which was all of them. But it didn’t matter. He didn’t know why it had spared him, but he would make it regret that . With a roar, he launched himself at it, swords bared.
