Creativity, it had always lurked in Azure and Two Time's relationship. Wether it be from interaction (only Spawn knows what kind of positions they'd end up in while cuddling.) gifting, truths or even lies.
Two Time, who currently sat on the ground praying to the Spawn for their plan of rebirth to work for them and Azure. They had been planning this for only Spawn knows how long. Only ever since they overheard a rumor.
If one sacrifices someone worthy of the Spawn's blessing, the sacrifice and sacrificer would both gain a second life, if done correctly, that is.
The rumor was spread like wildfire around the cult. But Azure still hadn't know about it somehow. Maybe he was too busy at his garden, too busy caring for the flowers just like one would with children.
Azure's legs limply laid off the bed, stretching his arms out, growing a little impatient at how long Two Time was taking with their prayer. Looking around, his eyes landed on a framed photo that sat on the nightstand.
It was the couple, holding hands in a field of nightshades. There were a few alters in the background, ones that Two Time and Azure would examine as if they were detectives looking for clues.
Azure smiled at the photo, brushing some of his fluffy hair out of his face. He heard the door creak open, head turning to the door. Two Time lit candles that made the room dim, yet enough to see without the luminance of the light.
Two Time looked exhausted, so Azure opened his arms and repositioned himself onto the bed fully, legs crossed. Two Time crawled into his arms, craving the embrace after the exhausting day.
Azure chuckled and rubbed Two Time's back, smiling with pride. He loved his partner dearly, and didn't know what he'd do without them. Two Time was possibly the sweetest thing out there.
"Are you tired, my nightshade?" Azure tilted Two Time's head up to look at him, giving a soft peck to their forehead. Two Time melted at the contact, face flushing with red. "Mhm, we should get some rest. The Spawn would be displeased if we stayed up any longer."
Azure nodded, but couldn't feel a sense that something was wrong. For a while now, Two Time had become more and more obsessed with praying to the Spawn, with thinking about pleasing it more that ever.
Maybe it was just his imagination. He held Two Time close, pulling the blanket over them and himself, watching as Two Time's eyes fluttered shut. He smiled, knowing that Two Time would always be by his side, and vise versa.

Creativity, it was important. Even when it was fiction- a dream, a nightmare. Dreams could be imperfect, and Nightmares could be perfect. Two Time rubbed their head, groaning in pain.
Their eyes opened, and they were in a gloomy, dark forest. The only thing really illuminating the path were candles, and Two Time's skin. Why were they glowing? Blame lighting I guess.
This felt so, so real. Why did it feel real? Why were they alone? Weren't they just with Azure? Two Time's thoughts filled with questions. They got up and brushed off dirt and grass, and began walking.
The dying grass crunched under their feet as they walked through the forest, soon finding a singular nightshade on the ground. They decided to keep going in the direction of the nightshade, hoping they'd find Azure soon.
As they walked, they soon realized more nightshades began to appear, illuminating the surroundings with a purple glow. It was interesting. The path looked almost inviting. Yet off.
They found themselves in an area of nightshades, the path going up onto a stone porch kind of thing, except not connected to any house or anything. It was just alone in the woods. Weird.
Two Time looked close, and saw Azure. Yet, he looked off. Black skin that blended in with the darkness of the world around the two, a purple shirt unlike his usual clothing. Black tentacles coming from his back. And his hair was a little longer.
They walked up to the Azure, could it even BE Azure? It didn't look like him, yet it did. It was off from the familiar, warm Azure was. This one was cold, and distant. Almost angry.
"Azure" turned to Two Time, looking down at the smaller one. They didn't say anything, and neither did "Azure." It felt weird to be here. And suddenly, out of nowhere and as a change of pace; Azure grabbed Two Time by the neck.
His thumbs gripping the centre of their throat, as they quickly tried to escape, trying their best to pry Azure off of them. It was getting hard to breathe already.
He looked angry. Almost pissed. Why would they be angry? Why did they look like that? What happened? Did Two Time do something? Fuck, did they forget to do something and Azure got angry at them...and turned into this thing?
That didn't make any sense, actually.
Azure's grip tightened, staring Two Time down like they were a frightened deer. They practically were at this point in time. Yet they were still wondering WHY WAS HE MAD?!
Azure didn't speak, yet it almost sounded like he did. Yet it was probably Two Time's thoughts or- what the fuck the hat was speaking.
"You TRAITOR.." It spoke, venom in it's voice. No, now Two Time was confused, Why the ever living FUCK was the hat speaking?? Two Time blankly stared, still struggling to breathe of course, but was so lost in thought that they didn't realize Azure's grip got tighter.
"So lost in this thing you call a religion, that all you can do is think of pleasing the Spawn. Let me tell you, The Spawn doesn't EXIST." The hat harshly spoke, practically talking for Azure. Yet, Azure didn't seem to want to be harming Two Time.
Like the hat was making him. ...What the fuck was Two Time even thinking about?? Why did this actually hurt, if a dream? Pain shot through their body as Azure snapped their neck, gasping in pain.
It felt so, so real. So painful. Yet they didn't die immediately. They only pretended to.
And they heard a sob come from Azure, hugging Two Time tightly. Not letting go. As if guilty. Guilty as charged. "Please, wake up..."

Creativity was a lie. A well planned connection of words to deceit somebody. Two Time woke up with a gasp, that dream felt and looked so, so real. But in reality, they were in bed with their beloved Azure.
The dream, could it have been a warning of some kind? A glance into the future? Why would their mind play tricks like this, let alone the night before their plan to grant Azure and themselves a second chance?
Two Time glanced at the clock. "My sky, it's time to awaken..." They spoke gently, brushing hair out of Azure's face. Azure held Two Time closer. "Noo...'few more minutes, pleassee, Timey?..." Azure muttered, still tired.
"No excuses, Azzy. We mustn't stall today." Two Time pushed themselves off Azure, smiling softly. "...We have plans? Since when..." Azure sat up, rubbing his head, trying to shake off the sleepiness.
Two Time giggled, "I planned something just for us. Only we must know about this event." They stroked Azure's cheek softly, pushing themselves off the bed. "I must go shower, get ready my dear,"
Azure sighed and nodded, getting up as Two Time walked to the bathroom with a towel in their hands. Azure rubbed his eyes and grabbed his clothing. He got dressed and stretched, hearing the water of the shower turning on.
He walked to the kitchen and made some food, humming to himself as he put bananas on peanut butter covered bread. He had always liked peanut butter & banana sandwiches.
After a while, he decided to write a note. Grabbing paper and a pencil, he wrote on the paper, gentle strokes of the pencil creating letters to form words, and after a minute he was done.
"Two Time, I'm going out to get something for our date (if that is what this is!) (even so, i think you'll like it :D) so i'll be back soon, text me if you need me to go somewhere instead."
He put the note on the counter, and got his shoes on, and walked outside, shutting the door gently behind him. He walked down the sidewalk, waving at neighbours and petting strays.
With Two Time, they were pondering. Why would dream Azure call them a traitor? Or even betray the Spawn in such a manner of tone? That definitely wasn't the Azure they knew.
They washed their hair, and body, sighing, and getting lost in thought. Did Azure hate them? Did they do something to deserve that? Why were they in pain thinking about this? Why did these thoughts fill them with existential dread?
They would only have to find out with time, wouldn't they?
Azure was trying to think of which bouquet to buy, he knew that Two Time really wouldn't care, but he cared. He wanted Two Time's smile, Two Time's warmth.
He picked up a bouquet of multicoloured flowers, and walked to the cashier, "just these, please!" He smiled, the cashier nodded, and rung him up as he paid. He walked out with the flowers and couldn't wait.
A notification went off on Azure's phone, from Two Time. "Go to the nightshade field, Azure. That is where you'll find me." He nodded and walked to the location provided.

Creativity, what a beautiful lie. It could crumble trust within seconds, milliseconds even. It could cause pain, pain that would last decades longer than it took to plan.
At the alter, Two Time held their dagger tight. Could they really do this? It hurt to think about, yet, who wouldn't want a second chance at living forever with your partner?
Azure arrived, looking so, so beautiful. Two Time took in their partner, blushing slightly, feeling so ashamed that they would hurt them in the process of getting a second life for both of them.
Before he could even speak, Azure was tackled to the ground- letting out a gasp of shock. "T-Two Time?" He stuttered, looking up at Two Time. They looked so...ashamed. Yet excited? It was hard to read them.
They took a breath in and stabbed Azure in the chest. Two Time gasped as they realizes the weight of where they stabbed him. The heart. They teared up, and didn't realize they had twisted the dagger into their chest.
Azure heard Two Time mumbling sorrys. It pained him to see them so upset. They reached up to Two Time's cheek and carressed it. "Oh Timey, don't cry. The last thing I want to see is you crying..."
Two Time held Azure with a gentle touch, looking so, so devastated. "I'm sorry, Azzy...I'm so- so sorry..." They muttered, putting their head on his stomach. Azure placed his hand on their head, petting them.
"Oh, my nightshade...please. Just remember if you're upset...I'm here for you. Always." Azure smiled, blooding trickling from his mouth. "I love you, Two Time."
And that was when Azure went cold, in Two Time's arms. They sobbed, realizing they screwed up big time. They felt so much pain- was what they heard wrong? How could they hear wrong?
"...I love you too, Azzy..."

Creativity. The lie of the century. Painful, exhausting, lies. They held to keep up right, for Azure. For the sake of the Spawn. They got a second life but at what cost?
They were face to face with the one they loved most. But it was that same Azure they say in that nightmare so long ago. Tentacles, bright shades of purple and dark shades of black.
Being held so coldly, with no care or grace, no mercy or love. They missed Azure so much, but their body ached. "How do you feel?" Azure's hat spoke outloud for Azure.
The pain was too much to bare, the aching only worsened. They couldn't muster anything up, and Azure didn't like that. With a simple movement, the air's weight lessened. They managed to say a few words before the sound-
Crack.
"-I love you too...Azzy."
Thud.
