Two Boys, Two Lovers, One Tragedy

Summary:

A poem from Patroclus to Achilles in his final moments about their years together.

Notes:

This is my first time doing poetry so it doesn't necessarily adhere to any strict rhyming pattern.

Work Text:

A boy, a prince, an exile, a lover.
A boy, a prince, a hero, my other.

Upon moon cast sky,
And sunkissed sea.
With us up high
And her down beneath.
There was nothing,
We could not be.

But when news crossed the Aegean sea.
Your mother picked you up,
And made you flee.

Oh how I wish Odysseus had not came.
For had he not,
You would still be the same.

As blood flashed red,
Your hair glowed gold.
For even in bed,
Your soul, for glory, had been sold.

As I close my eyes,
And Hector draws near.
Just know, please just know,
I still love you, my dear.
