The doctor had encountered the strangest situations when it comes to dates, one moment it's a nice restaurant and then the whole building evolves into some cyber bullet train or the time they thought a little spa day together would be nice but she couldn't be still for more than 5 minutes and had to keep fixing every little thing that was wrong in the building.
So they were more than a little bit skeptical when the doctor offered another date, they obviously would never decline her, they love their girlfriend to bits and could never turn her down especially with a charming smile like that, it's just that literally anything could go wrong on a date, even more so when it's the doctor.
"A date, doctor?" Their eyebrow raised with a small grin on their face, they couldn't help it her smile was just too contagious to keep it in.
"Well yeah! I thought maybe take some time to relax," Sunny couldn't recall the last time they ever had a "relaxing date" with her "in the tardis, so I'm sure nothing bad could happen to you."
They blinked in surprise, a pleasant surprise at that. A little date in the tardis- the safest place in the universe -why in the name of everything holy have they never done that before?
"Maybe, watch a movie? I know of some really swell ones!" The doctor practically beamed at them. They were silently fighting every urge to just pull her into a kiss right then and there.
"That sounds amazing, honey." They replied in a softer tone after they got closer to her, they couldn't help but reach out and straighten her coat. The feeling of the fabric was just so comforting.
"What time?" Sunny tilted their head to the side to put emphasis on their question. The doctor seemed distracted by the sight of them and the feel of them getting so close to her. She had to clear her throat before answering, scratching the back of her head just to hide her little redness on her cheeks
"uh- uhm, anytime is fine really, cause well you know.. time machine! And all.." She nervously leaned onto the tardis console, patting it while trying to hold a smug smirk but the nervous rambling was too obvious. The tardis letting out a hum in response to her leaning against her console.
They giggled softly at the sight of her acting so nervous and flustered, "sounds perfect, doctor" placing their hand on her right cheek and pressing a kiss on her left. "I'll see you in 30 minutes?" They asked and all the doctor could do in response was hold the spot they had just kissed, nodding swiftly and in absolute awestruck.
Somewhere deep inside the Tardis the doctor had turned on a TV. Put on a entraining movie for the two of them, Fantastic Mr fox is what she ended up picking out for the two, they had to endure at least 5 minutes of rambling of little funfacts she already know of the movie. About half way through the film, the popcorn bowl was already empty and the two were closer to eachother now.
Sunny got comfortable on the couch and so did The doctor by deciding to lay her head down on their lap, they couldn't help but smile at how cute the sight is and how sweet the moment is in general. Their gaze was brought back to the TV but their hand lightly grazed between strands of her gold hair, sighing contently as the movie played on.
Towards the end of the movie they could hear soft snores coming from under them, they couldn't help but giggle in a quiet hushed tone as to not disturb the doctor and wake her. It is one of the few times she actually fell asleep next to them or few times they actually saw her sleep in general so they enjoyed the moment. They'd trade the whole universe to stay in this moment forever if they could.
They'd definitely classify this as the best date so far.
