A Grave of the Heart

Summary:

A short poem about the words Kim said and wishes to say to Porchay.

Not rich in words but hopefully rich in story (and sorries).

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

A Grave of the Heart - June 2nd, 2025

I can’t speak,

the words don’t flow.

My tongue tied.

I wish to speak my heart,

the beats echo in my ears,

yet your innocence…

only brings fear.

“I’m sorry”

is the only thing I say.

I watch,

tears falling down your face.

Silence…

My heart drops,

our paradise,

gone.

The wish to follow the beat,

yet, death follows me close.

The closer you are,

the harder death’s chokehold.

Please…

fly away.

Run…

from this impure world.

I took your innocence ,

Your trust,

Your pure heart.

I wished to protect,

yet I only seemed to hurt.

“I’m sorry”

hides the truth I wish to say.

It pains my chest,

your eyes filled with betrayal,

the doe eyes now of ire.

Innocence that I tried to protect,

washed away,

your eyes, full of the horrid life.

There is less and less to protect,

my heart yearns,

it tears at the flesh around it.

Yet…

I can never say the words I meant to.

Your heart yearning for mine,

buried six feet under,

away from the pain.

While mines,

suffocates alive in a coffin.

“I’m… sorry…”
