Chapter Text
The cold student council room was full of the sound of paper flipping, print machines whirring and heated discussions. If you focus just a bit, you will realise it is all just a backdrop for the prince’s plans. A new student just joined the student council. The princes tried to befriend him, just for him to isolate himself and cling onto Gion. He was at a corner toying with a Rubik’s cube when Ciel announced, “Guys, it’s princess Neelam’s birthday soon! What should we get her?”
“We should get her a sweater, she loves wearing those.” Alexis suggested.
“In this weather? Absolutely not. How about a tablet, or something useful for studying?” Leon replied with haste, somehow always bringing academics into the subject.
“She did say she likes desserts. Maybe we should get her a macaron cake!” Ciel enthusiastically announced, just for his idea to be shut down by Albert.
“You fool! She looks like she likes functional items! Let’s get her a fountain pen, since she’s the vice president.” They all started arguing and the student council room erupted into chaos.
“Gion, what do you think?” They all turned to Gion, who despite being cold, was the most rational person in the room.
“I’m not familiar with Neelam, ask him.” He pointed to Anu, who was solving his 15th Rubik's cube.
They were all stumped. There’s no way a guy like him ever got close to Neelam! In fact, Neelam didn’t like guys like him! However as they think back, they remembered that Neelam and Anu did have some kind of relationship, considering the way Charles had pointed out Neelam’s reaction whenever they brought up Anu.
Anu glanced up at them, frowned and played with his Rubik’s cube again. Alexis decided he had to be intimidating.
He mimicked the way he saw Principal Evan negotiate with unwilling clients and troublesome students. He slammed his hand against Anu’s table, and bore holes into Anu’s head with his glare, but Anu didn’t even flinch. He just continued to play with his Rubik’s cube.
“Why aren’t you answering? Do you think this is not worth your time? This is important for a good relationship between the two schools!” Alexis tried his best Principal Evan voice and spoke with an intimidating tone. Only then, did Anu make eye contact with Alexis and glared at him.
“If you have a muscle ache, go slam your hands somewhere else. Don’t even bring up the name of my Neelam in front of me if you don’t know her well.” He didn’t bother to memorise anyone’s name so he just merely pointed his finger at them. “You, with the golden blonde hair. Neelam must have mentioned she liked macarons, but you immediately assumed she liked sweet things. She thinks sweet food is bad for her health.”
Ciel was mad,but didn’t say anything because Anu was accurate, Neelam really only mentioned that she liked macarons through a brief chat with him about Carla’s wellbeing. He was about to throw hands at Anu, but Anu just calmly pointed to Albert. “If Neelam had to choose between something functional and something cute, she would pick the cute one without hesitation. You should see the number of golden “cute” stuff she has in her dorm.”
He then looked at Alexis again, who went back to his hamster self. “Prez, if you want to get her a sweater, make sure it is made from cashmere, and matches her skin tone. She likes dark yellow, velvet or brown. Any others? She would give it to charity. I’ve seen her do that with my own two eyes.”
“Go with Leon’s idea. It’s not half bad.” He finally said, albeit too smug. He likes being the prince who knows her best, considering the amount of time he has spent chilling in her dorm after breaking into the highest guarded girl’s school in the world, Poposi. He has already prepared his gift beforehand, briefly touching the box in his pocket. Matching earrings for the both of them.
Wait until the princes find out, Neelam doesn’t like to receive gifts before her birthday, she thinks it’s bad luck. Anu will personally give her a gift, with Neelam promising to share a slice of cake with him.
Just the two of them.
