My Hero Academia: Amaineiro Hinata's Story

Summary:

"I don't think I'll ever get into MHA, really..."

*less than 2 hours later*

"Well."

☆°•¤•°☆

Amaineiro Hinata had dreamed of being a hero ever since she was 8, and she finally was old enough to apply to U.A High! However, things would get much more difficult after applying, unbeknownst to her. Can she keep her friends and family safe, or will she die trying?

Chapter Text

I quickly gulped down the rest of my large 82 ounce water bottle before grabbing my spare one and hopping into my mom's car. "Are you ready?" She asked, beaming at me with a huge grin on her face. "Heh, ready as I'll ever be!" I replied, trying yet failing to hide my nervousness from her, which she clearly noticed. "You'll be fine, Amaineiro. You've got this, we all believe in you!" I chuckled and nodded, resting my head on my hand as we backed out of the driveway.

My name is Amaineiro Hinata, and I'm one of many unique people in a superhuman world where each human possesses some sort of power called a 'quirk'. I always loved how every single quirk differs from one another, so even if they share a category (like fire quirks), there's always something completely new about it.

Even since I was 8, I aspired to be a hero, and now was my chance; by applying to become part of UA's hero course! There was a written part and a physical part, to test the smarts and capabilities of everyone involved. I was always mediocre in my studies, but I wouldn't have a problem passing the written part of the exam. The physical test, however, I was extremely nervous about.

There was no way of telling what I'd be up against, so my quirk might have not even had an effect on whatever we were pitted against!

I should probably explain my quirk, huh?

My quirk is called 'Liquid Control', and it's basically what it's called, to be honest. I can produce and control my own liquids as long as they're over 50% water. I mostly produce plain water since it's the easiest, but there are other times where I'll do something fancy. But my quirk isn't all good, because what is a human without some drawbacks? 'Liquid Control' uses up lots of my bodily fluids when I use it, so I need to drink lots of water based things in order to stay hydrated and to keep being able to use my quirk. Some results of not drinking water for me are:

-Not being able to use my quirk for long periods of time

-My blood coming out with my quirk

-Becoming nauseous and weak

-Passing out easier

...And the list goes on, which is why I always carry a spare bottle with me and why it's so prominent in my everyday life.

My younger twin siblings, Koki and Tsuyuko Hinata, are my life, and I'd do anything to protect them, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to become a hero. They'd supported me at my highest, lowest, and all in-between no matter what happened. My thoughts on the ride there were filled with happy memories of my family, my training, and I smirked as I remembered Tsuyuko's incessant giggling and Koki's plain confusion when I fell over balancing on a ball at the ages of 5 and 9.

And before I knew it, we were finally there. I jumped when mom tapped my shoulder, "Amaineiro? We're here." I glanced over at her and she smiled bittersweetly back at me. "Good luck." "Right!" I responded confidently, opening the passenger side's door and looking back at mom before I closed it, "Love you mom." "Love you too hon. No matter what." I waved as mom drove off after several goodbyes, and adjusted my water bottles' strap, turning to face the giant building ahead of me. This was it. My calling.

As I headed into the jam packed auditorium and tried to pick an empty seat, my senses were overwhelmed with noise from all of the talking, the various scents that I'd rather never smell again, the tons and tons of different colors flooding the entire place, and the difference from the comfort of my home made me feel nauseous, and I wasn't even dehydrated. I took a few deep breaths as I sat down, taking a few sips from my water bottle and thinking to myself, 'I'm fine. If I want to be a hero I need to learn how to deal with much worse situations than this. I already have.' Despite not really wanting to, I pulled out my earbuds and my phone, putting on one of my favorite songs, which immediately cooled my senses and headache. The song finished up and I pulled my earbuds, looking ahead to the stage. After a few seconds, someone politely tapped my shoulder, and I just about jumped to the sky. Glancing in the direction of the one who tapped on me, my eyes immediately focused on all of her details. She was a pink skinned, pink haired alien looking person, with small antlers/horns poking out of her head. Her scleras were black and her eye colors were yellow, making her extremely interesting to look at. To make a good first impression, I smiled softly and said, "Yes?" "Hi there! I'm Mina Ashido, and my quirk is 'Acid'! How about you?" She had a high-pitched voice, speaking cheerfully and fast. I was surprised since she seemed actually interested in me, like I did her. Something tells me that, even if we didn't make it into the same class, we still would have been great friends. "Oh! I'm Amaineiro Hinata, and my quirk is called 'Liquid Control'!" I replied. Mina's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Are you excited for the exam? Cause' I'm PUMPED!" She thrusted a fist into the air energetically, filling me with spirit. "Yup! A little bit nervous but–" I was suddenly cut off by the pro hero called Present Mic trying to hype the crowd up, to no avail since we were all awkward teens who were socially anxious. After all of the announcements were done (I wasn't really paying attention to anything besides the physical test point system), we finally got to get to the written part of the exam, which was, as you could have guessed, uneventful.

Then it was finally time for the moment I'd been preparing for for months. Our physical abilities test. It was time to see if I was good enough to make it into one of the most prestigious hero schools in Japan.

'I'm ready.'
