AEGIS OPERATIONS DIVISION – CLASSIFIED MISSION BRIEF
MISSION ID: Echo Lantern 7-Alpha
CLEARANCE LEVEL: Omega-Black
DISSEMINATION: Restricted to Operatives Red Wolf and Shadow Fang
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Embed within Strathmore Academy under cover as fraternal twin scholarship students. Protect Subject: Cavendish, Sebastian A. (Midas Seed) from external threat, unauthorized recruitment, and premature activation of latent metahuman abilities.
BACKGROUND:
Subject Cavendish is the son of international financier Alton Cavendish and Baroness Celeste DuMarque. Unbeknownst to him or his parents, his genetic profile exhibits rare but high-potential supergenic markers—recently flagged in an intercepted data cache during a sting operation in Prague. This data included precise DNA sequences, predictive phenotypic modeling, and a list of "assets for acquisition or elimination."
AEGIS Intelligence confirms the data is now in circulation among hostile actors, including The Hyacinth Accord, Project Thorns, and likely the Prysm Faction. At least one hostile operative is already embedded at Strathmore.
JUSTIFICATION FOR AGENT ASSIGNMENT:
Red Wolf (Mark Kelly) and Shadow Fang (Nathaniel Kelly) represent the only field-ready operatives capable of:
1. Maintaining full academic enrollment under cover
2. Neutralizing high-level threats in confined civilian environments
3. Responding to the uncontrolled emergence of Class IV+ abilities
4. Executing long-term operations with minimal oversight
Regional Director Kelly has formally protested the duration and risk level of this mission but approved deployment due to the absence of alternative assets.
OPERATIONAL COVER:
• Mark and Nathaniel Kelly to operate as "Marcus and Nate King", fraternal twins from Nova Scotia enrolled under the Aldebrand Scholars program.
• Live in dormitory suite adjacent to Subject Cavendish.
• Assigned courses and extracurriculars designed to maintain surveillance and fast response capability.
• All communications encrypted and routed through mobile node “Codex Lantern.”
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
• Do not reveal AEGIS affiliation to subject or civilians.
• Do not reveal Subject’s metahuman potential under any circumstances.
• Lethal force permitted only if threat level exceeds Class Delta or public safety is imminently compromised.
• In the event of Subject activation, prioritize stabilization and extraction until containment assets can arrive.
• Psychological integrity of both agents is mission-critical. Mandatory weekly remote debriefs with Drs. Moraine and Singh, AEGIS Psychological Support.
NOTES FROM REGIONAL DIRECTOR KELLY:
“This is not the kind of mission I believe in assigning to my best field agents. Your talents are wasted in a boarding school, and I despise that we are reacting instead of acting. But the leak is real. The threat is real. And until I know where it came from, I need my most dangerous grandchildren playing nice in plaid blazers.”
“Watch each other’s backs. You're not just weapons anymore—but I need your teeth.”
Signed,
Regional Director Kelly

Omega-Black Seal Authorized

AEGIS FIELD DEPLOYMENT PLAN: Echo Lantern 7-Alpha – Tactical Annex
Addendum to Mission Brief
Operatives: Red Wolf & Shadow Fang
Subject: Sebastian A. Cavendish (Midas Seed)
I. HARDENED COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE
Codename: Codex Lantern
A self-repairing, quantum-key encrypted node disguised as a portable wireless speaker.
• Auto-hops signal routing every 12 minutes.
• Converts voice to silent haptic Morse through comm-link rings or inner-ear implants.
• Allows asynchronous field journaling via stylus-and-tablet interface, logs stored in dimensional microcache.
• Emergency 'Dark' channel: vocal phrase “Echo Collapse” activates full lockdown and alerts Regional Director Kelly directly.
Additional Components:
• Mark carries a smartwatch disguised as a student fitness tracker; dual-band for comms and vitals.
• Nathaniel’s "calculator" is a full terminal interface to Codex Lantern. Looks like standard student issue.
II. COUNTER-SURVEILLANCE PROTOCOLS/p>
Infiltration-Level Camouflage:
• Mark’s soft-tissue nanomask requires 10 minutes daily recharge. Comes with hormonal patches to mimic teen biochemistry.
• Nathaniel’s appearance requires no modifications. Insert snark here.
Campus Grid Mapping:
• 42 internal cameras (9 covert), mapped by Nathaniel and looped into scrubbed feeds.
• Unknown operative believed to have access to at least 3 compromised systems—sweep ongoing.
Behavioral Camouflage:
• Each brother is assigned plausible roles:
o "Marcus" (Mark): Varsity fencing team, Art History elective, Study Hall peer tutor
o "Nate" (Nathaniel): Robotics Club, Advanced Language Lab (Latin/French/Japanese), Math Olympiad
• Mandatory participation in one common social event per week to maintain social integration and cover
III. EQUIPMENT & CACHE LOCATIONS
Primary Cache ("The Locker"):
• Hidden in janitorial substation beneath East Wing. Fingerprint and voice-lock coded to both agents.
• Contents:
- 2x Modular Combat Suits (compressed into student messenger bags)
- 1x pair stun batons (Mark)
- 1x collapsible escrima set + data spike blades (Nathaniel)
- Trauma kit, sedative injector, 3x EMP flash-pellets
Secondary Caches:
• Locker in Gymnasium Hall C (fencing locker): civilian-grade recon gear
• Maintenance panel behind Library Reference Section D: emergency rations, climbing gear, burner phones
• One external courier dead drop in nearby town, disguised as a campus bookstore return shelf
