Work Text:
“But hyung…”, Jimin begs, words turning into a whine as Yoongi prompty ignores him, muttering an I’m busy, Jimin. I can’t teach you now. He expects to hear Jimin’s retreating footsteps, maybe a door slammed shut but nothing happens. When he turns around, Jimin’s arms are crossed over his chest and his lips are settled in a pout. A very adorable, powerful pout.
Yoongi sighs, smile tugging at his lips.
“Alright. I’ll teach you but first, let me finish this. It won’t take long”, he says and the way Jimin’s whole face lights up is totally worth possibly not finishing the song today. Jimin leans down and gives Yoongi a peck on his cheek, giggling happily when Yoongi’s cheek turn the same shade as his hair. Yoongi throws him a glare and Jimin unsuccessfully tries to hide his smile behind his small hands.
“Come back in a half an hour and I’ll show you how to play Wedding Dress on the piano”, Yoongi says, trying to ignore the obvious blush on his cheeks. Luckily Jimin doesn’t tease him and instead nods eagerly, plopping down onto the couch.
“I promise I won’t bother you, hyung”, Jimin assures, ending his words with a small yawn. Yoongi bites back a comment about how cute he is and nods, turning his attention back to his computer. Jimin fishes his phone out of his pocket, grabbing his headphones at the same time.
Yoongi gets to work in peace for five whole minutes before Jimin’s silent humming breaks the silence. Here and there, Yoongi can make out words and eventually comes to the conclusion that Jimin is singing Wedding Dress. He’s not being too loud, and his voice is absolutely beautiful so Yoongi lets it slide. Maybe zones out as he listens to the boy sing but he’ll never admit to being so unprofessional.
Slowly, the singing dies down. Yoongi waits for it to continue and when it doesn’t, he turns around with a frown and is met by the cutest sight he’s seen in days. Jimin is lying on the couch, fast asleep with his legs almost stretched out and hands tucked under his cheek. His lips are slightly parted and his eyes are closed, a stray strand of hair tickling him. He scrunches his nose and Yoongi smiles.
He’s quick to save his work and turn off the computer, stretching his limbs as he stands up after hours of sitting still. He makes his way to the small electric piano and sits down, rummaging through the papers until he finds the right song. Yoongi spares a glance at Jimin’s peaceful face as he places his fingers on the keys, thinking back to the first time he tried to teach the song to Jimin.
Yoongi placed his fingers on the keys and played a few notes, looking back to see Jimin’s eyes glued to his hands.
“You have pretty hands, hyung. A pianist’s hands”, Jimin said with a smile, eyes crinkling at the corners. Yoongi shook his head slightly and continued playing, suddenly very aware of how easily he could hit the wrong key and completely screw up.
Standing next to him, Jimin huffed a sigh. He was inspecting his hands, idly playing with his rings as Yoongi stopped playing to turn to him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“My hands are so small. How am I going to play the piano?”
Jimin’s eyebrows were knit together in worry as his eyes finally met Yoongi’s. Without a word, Yoongi got up and circled around the bench, gesturing Jimin to sit down. Then he leaned closer, taking Jimin’s hands into his, guiding them onto the keys and trying not to think too much about how comfortable it felt to hold Jimin this close.
“Okay, now. Do you remember what I just showed you?” Yoongi asked, not bothering to lift his hands from Jimin’s. Hesitantly, Jimin played the first few notes Yoongi had shown him and stopped, biting his lip.
“I don’t remember more”, he muttered, ducking his head as Yoongi started to speak.
“It tickles, hyung”, he giggled, turning to face Yoongi, way too close for comfort but flinching away would have seemed weird so Yoongi stayed still, a smile finding its way to his lips.
“What tickles?” he asked, eyes dropping down to Jimin’s plush lips.
“When you talk really close, it tickles. But I like it”, Jimin replied and Yoongi raised an eyebrow.
“Do you? How about this?”
He brushed his lips over Jimin’s neck, gently tugging at his earlobe and, judging by the way Jimin’s breath hitched, he definitely liked it.
The sounds of Jimin switching position on the couch has Yoongi reeling his mind back to reality, returning his attention to the piano. With how many times he’s sat there with Jimin next to him, he should know the song but something else always catches his attention. The little frown on his face when he concentrates or the way he smiles when Yoongi compliments him or the small frustrated pout he puts up when he gets it wrong.
The little things.
“Hyung?”
Jimin’s voice is heavy with sleep and he’s rubbing his eyes, hair sticking up in multiple directions and yet somehow it’s still cute.
“Yeah?” Yoongi asks, letting his fingers dance over the keys as Jimin gets up and stretches, shivering a little. Yoongi wonders if he should let Jimin borrow his hoodie but chooses against it as Jimin tells him to make room and then sits down next to him, leaning into the warmth.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Jimin asks, lips parted as he glances up at Yoongi.
“You looked so cute”, Yoongi shrugs and Jimin rolls his eyes, hooking an arm around Yoongi’s waist. Amused, Yoongi leans in to kiss the side of his head.
“Do you want to go back to sleep, Minnie baby?” he asks softly but Jimin shakes his head, pulling away somewhat reluctantly.
“I want to learn this so I can play and sing it for you some day”, he says, blush creeping onto his cheeks and Yoongi wonders when his heart learned how to do cartwheels better than Jimin.
