Family of Choice

Summary:

In which Ali had too much space in his life that he keeps filling it with people who will break his heart in the end.

Work Text:

Sometimes, Ali wondered why a stranger was much more of a family than his own blood-related one.

He's not saying that his father and uncle weren't a family to him, it's just that they rarely shows their affection to him, too busy with their works that they were practically married to it.

Maybe that's why he keeps collecting people, forming his own family.

His own Found Family.

But then again, what's the use of that? All of them always ended up with either heartbreak or betrayal. Again and again, he went through it, and yet he never seemed to take a lesson from it. Beginning from forming a relationship with them and ending up with breaking it to pieces.

Jenny, who he thought of as a big sister he never had.

Ejen Rizwan, who he thought as his father-figure.

Ejen Zain, another father-figure of his.

Niki, who he privately thought as his mother-figure.

Ejen Kim, another big sister-figure of his.

And the recent one, Alicia. Someone who he still can't define what kind of role she had in his life, unlike the people he had listed, but what he did know is that she was family.

All of these people each have their own roles in his life (one don't but still a family nonetheless), someone he had once loved and still loved until now.

Even when they turned out to be a traitor.

Even when they died.

And even when they lose their memory.

He loved them all the same.

(Even if it was painful to do so.)
