Everyone watches women’s sports! And especially in this day and age, everyone watches women’s basketball!

USC

While the University of Southern California's Women of Troy may not have as many accolades as some of the other teams on our list, they certainly present a formidable opponent in this year’s upcoming season. After the school recruited the people’s princess Azzi Fudd and generational talent Juju Watkins, this So Cal team has been on the up and up. Now, with some new pieces like Stanford-transfer Kiki Iriafen and freshman Kayleigh Heckel to round out solid starters like Rayah Marshall, this may be the year that USC breaks into the final four this decade!

UCONN

When you think about women's college basketball, the University of Connecticut is almost guaranteed to pop up first. Not only the most winning-est program in history, the program with the most successful coach in NCAA Basketball history, and the program with the most WNBA #1 picks ever, UCONN hasn't missed a Sweet Sixteen in over 30 years. However, in recent years the dominance of this dynasty has started to dwindle—they haven't won a title since 2016 and even didn't make it to the Final Four in 2023. But with stars like Paige Bueckers, KK Arnold, and Jana el Alfy and new recruits like National Player of the Year Sarah Strong and Princeton-transfer Kaitlyn Chen, we’re certainly not going to count UCONN out of title contention!

Last year was nothing but a flight straight upward for the University of South California, eventually even finishing out the season with their best performance during March Madness ever. And although her collegiate career has been stalled by several unfortunate injuries, there's no doubt that Azzi Fudd will continue to cement her status as one of the greatest players in program history. One of the most prolific shooting guards in women's basketball, Azzi has made her presence known at the collegiate level, not only just as a sharpshooter but a certified bucket getter. In her personal life, Azzi has been known to practice with Steph Curry the three-point god who himself, mentioned that he was jealous of her perfect shooting stroke! We’re even more excited for her return after this adorable press conference moment when Steph showed up in her jersey!

PAIGE BEUCKERS - University of Connecticut, Guard

Sound the alarms! Everyone’s favorite blonde is back! The first freshman to ever win NPOY, Paige Beuckers is a formidable opponent, known for her passing skills that combine with a deadly midrange shot. Growing up alongside Minnesota NBA stars like Jalen Suggs and Chet Holmgren, Beuckers made a name for herself, one that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Despite getting knocked out in the Final Four last year, we expect Beuckers and UCONN to come back swinging and for her to make a serious run for NPOY again.
