Work Text:
It was already evening, the stars were twinkling beautifully, and the grass was pleasantly illuminated by sunlight. Clouds floated smoothly across the black sky. Coral was standing at the edge of the hill, while Ena stood nervously in place. Ena had a bouquet of roses in her hands, their color palette resembled her face. The thoughts in Ena's head were confused, as if she had suddenly woken up in this place. "What am I doing here? What is this place?" Her thoughts were abruptly silenced when she saw her colleague
Coral looked at Ena tenderly.
"Hi, why did you call me?"
"Hello, my dear Coral! To be honest, I don't even remember anymore."
There was an awkward pause, but Ena quickly handed the bouquet to Coral. She wanted to sound confident, but her smile was a little twitchy. When Coral saw the bouquet, her eye widened and a blush appeared on her face.
"Oh.. Thank you very much."
"I am very glad that you liked him! Although I don't remember why I called you, I don't think you'll lose any benefit from our meeting, because I'll try to justify your time!"
"That's nice of you, it's not necessary that you have a reason to call me, I'll always come." A lot of red rings appeared on the coral and the girl began to sweat a lot.
"I'm very glad to hear that, then let's spend our free time with pleasure."
Coral accepted the bouquet, but it began to blossom and disappear beautifully. Rose petals flew all over the field, and it was a beautiful sight.
"Wow...ah, I-I hope he didn't disappear because of me?"
"No, you're all fine."
"This is the first time I have seen the phenomenon of disappearing objects, they say that they may reappear later, but this phenomenon has no scientific explanation"
"I didn't know you were interested in this, I can't imagine how much more you might know. I wish I could get your geniuses..."
Ena stopped abruptly, remembering that Coral doesn't like to make contact.
"Genius microbes?"
Ena switched to the evil side. "YES. BUT THAT'S NOT PART OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION, SO I'LL DO IT, TO HELL WITH THEM!"
Although it was the evil side, she didn't say a single insult towards Coral.
"But still, we're not at work right now. So I think you can get them, no matter how strange it sounds."
Excitement seemed to appear in Ena's eyes, and she slowly began to reach out her hand. Coral's slightly trembling hand also moved towards her. Their hands touched, and Coral was sure that Ena's evil side was smiling, but immediately switched to the seller.
"Thank you, you know, I have unusual feelings."
"Have you never touched other creatures?"
"No, it's not because of the touch. Seeing or remembering you makes me feel different."
"Ah.."
"I'm sorry if my words put you off."
"No, no, it's fine. I'm interested to know a little more about you."
"Great, then I'll try to explain them. I think that even if all the sounds disappear and the words stop in silence, I will still want to hold your hands, if you fall asleep, then I will fall asleep too. If you're far away, I'll miss you forever."
"This.. Very nice."
Their fingers intertwined, and Coral's tension was almost gone.
"I don't think you've found any benefit from these words, but don't worry, my feelings won't interfere with our business relationship."
A slight sadness could be heard in her words.
"I feel the same way."
Coral quickly blurted out and turned her head away, but not letting go of Ena's hand.
"Really? How do you interpret this?"
"... L-love.."
"I love you Coral"
Ena looked at Coral, waiting for her to look at her.
"I love you too"
Coral slowly turned her head back, and her eyes seemed to sparkle.
They hugged each other tightly, as if for the last time. Ena's hat flew off, but they didn't even pay attention to it. Ena's head pressed against Coral's chest, and her arms wrapped around the girl's body. Meanwhile, Coral's hand was gently stroking Ena's head. Coral's legs suddenly began to lose their balance, and she let go of Ena, falling to the grass. Ena started to grin, restraining herself from laughing. Coral blushed with embarrassment, but she couldn't hold a grudge against her. Ena walked around Coral and lay down. Her legs were mirrored to the other girl's, and their heads were a couple of inches apart. The grass was like a soft sheet that enveloped them. It was as if time had stopped, and the sun had stopped, but it was still shining pleasantly.
"I will provide you with any services 24/7, without interruption."
Ena's face switched to an angry one
"BECAUSE I'M READY TO LOVE YOU FOREVER! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? I'LL NEVER FUCKING LEAVE YOU, I'LL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU."
Although it was difficult for Coral to get used to the screams, this is also a part of Ena that she loves so much.
"Always?"
"OF COURSE I'M FUCKING NOT MAKING MYSELF CLEAR?"
"Then promise me that."
Her voice was quiet.
Ena wanted to shout something again, but her face switched to the salesman.
"My dear, I promise that I will be there, ready to sign the contract."
"No need, words are enough for me. You know, I'll always be there for you, too."
Although she felt comfortable, she wasn't used to preparing such words, so every time her face turned red and red circles appeared on the coral.
Ena stared at Coral in fascination and suddenly an idea came to her, she grinned.
Ena quickly moved due to the fact that her parts could levitate and now she was above Coral, she moved a little closer to the girl and stroked her head. Coral froze and started sweating profusely, with a funny smile on her face. When Coral regained consciousness, she wrapped her arms around Ena's torso and pulled him into her arms, the rest of her limbs also pulled in. They lay in silence, enjoying every minute they spent together. Then Ena raised her head a little and asked a question:
"Can I have some more of your genius germs?"
her eyes were a little narrowed.
“what? All right,"
she raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Ena kissed Coral. Coral jumped in surprise, but closed her eyes and reached for Ena's face again. They lay like that for hours.
Ena felt sleepy and began to fall asleep on Coral's chest.
Waking up as if from a gunshot, she was in a cold sweat, her body was humanoid, her skin color turned dark and a little dull, and there was a huge hole in her stomach. She was sitting alone and a dim light was shining from somewhere. Memories began to stir in her head. "Are these real memories? Was it a dream?" tears rolled down her cheeks. She clutched her head with her hands, realizing that she was on the verge.
She lay down, now hugging her legs and crying softly.
Her soft whisper could be heard.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, dear. I probably won't come back to your arms anymore. Sorry..
You have no idea how much I miss you. Coral, I love you... I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry, I didn't keep my promise."
