Work Text:
The chair squeals as she drags it across the cold concrete floors, very much resembling the sound of nails on chalkboard, but she doesn’t care, she’s use to listening to things that make her ears bleed.
Enid’s music immediately comes to mind.
As she sits down a lowly whistle reverbs throughout the room, as her gaze locks in on the person chained up against the wall before her.
“Wednesday Addams..I knew you couldn’t resist seeing me again, It only took you..” He turns his head to the left and she immediately notices tallies littering the right side of the room.
“ 90 days, but who’s really counting?” He laughed be musingly.
“Seems you are.” She shoots back immediately.
“Yeah well, not much to do in solitary confinement.” He shrugs and his chains jingle a bit.
“I suppose not, so how would you like to get out?” Wednesday asks cutting to the chase.
A smirk immediately forms on his face, “Damn..Already asking me on a date, Wednesday I’m flattered and slightly nauseated at the same time.” He smiles darkly.
“You’re going to be a whole lot sicker if you don’t help me.” Wednesday states matter of factly, she didn’t have time for games, people were dying.
“And why should I help you?” A frown deepens upon his paler than usual face.
It was unsettling to look at him, not when Wednesday had that image of his old self carved into her brain, the golden bright eyed boy with honey curls, kind but sarcastic smile, and eyes that always seemed to say so much more than what any words could.
That was the Tyler she knew.
This person..
This was different.
Skin pale, hair long and unkept, fresh bruises lined his chest and torso, scratches on his biceps, and the parting gift Enid had gave him all those months ago replaced that golden smile with one of mischief and bitterness.
He looked like poison.
And not the good kind.
“Because I think you would like to know about what happened to your mother.” She says calmly, but she immediately saw his eyes perk up in intrigued.
“My mother’s dead Wednesday.” She recognized that voice, this was undoubtedly Tyler in her presence. “Or did you forget?” his tone more bitter than the cake he had made for her on her birthday.
That seemed so long ago.
“Is she?” Wednesday asks.
Tyler immediately looks at her carefully, trying to see what her angle was, but she knew he’d never find it, this week had been a nightmare, but the wrong kind.
“This isn’t funny Wednesday.”
“I’m not laughing Galpin.”
A silence eats up the room faster than Pugsley could eat their grandma’s tarantula pie, he looks at her dumbfoundedly before speaking.
“Why are you here Wednesday?” He asks finally, a bad feeling creeping up on him.
“It’s your father.” She says coolly but even he could tell she was unnerved.
And that within itself was scary.
The pit in his stomach quadrupled and the nausea grew.
“What happened?” He didn’t know who was asking that question, was it himself..or him?
He watched as it looked like she debated in her head a second on how to word it, and that only made everything worse, Wednesday Addams never sugar coated anything, for anyone.
But he wasn’t just anyone was he?
He was the psycho ex boy friend who was secretly betraying her the entire time, the boy who kissed her in the shadows and deserted her in the light.
“Wednesday, what happened to my father?” He found himself repeating urgently, not quite sure why he was so concerned, what had his father ever done for him? Besides ignore, berate, and chastise him on a daily basis?
He might’ve been Hyde, but his dad had been the true monster in his life.
Giving him more grief, heartache, and confusion than anything his other half could do.
And yet the quickening of his heart rate, and Wednesday’s apprehension showed his true feelings and God did he hate it.
As soon as the words “I’m sorry” left Wednesday’s lips he immediately tuned everything else out, because there was nothing left to hear.
He could only sit there as he watched her lips move, and yet no sound came out..he was frozen and for the first time in months his mind was completely blank.
No Hyde, no thoughts, no nothing.
Silence.
He didn’t even realize when Wednesday had called out his name, “Tyler, are you listening?” She asked.
“Who did it?” He asks abruptly cutting her off.
“I have an idea who’s behind it, but this is bigger than just me or you.” She stresses sensing his anger bubbling.
“He was my dad Wednesday!” He spits at her angrily, his heart rate spiking with every passing moment that went by in that cold dark cell.
“I understand, and I will find who did it, but first I need your help.” She says.
She watches his eyes ponder what she’s asking as if he’s trying to make a decision on if he can really trust her or not she nearly scoffs at the audacity.
If anyone should be weary it should be her.
“What do you need?” He finally asks.
“Your home address, and the location of your family photo albums. I think the answer lies in there.” She says.
“Fine, what else?”
“I also need you to start asking your care staff questions, subtle ones, but ones that will give me an idea of how this facility operates, like who’s in charge, what times people go on break, and if you can somehow cause a distraction at a certain time, that would help.” She lists.
“Sounds like we’re breaking out, look at us, a modern age Bonnie and Hyde.” He laughs, this time she can tell he’s genuinely amused.
“Say that again and I'll have my brother zap you instead of that flimsy collar around your neck.” She threatens.
He ignores her statement but asks, “So was this the only reason you came to see me, to tell me my dad kicked the bucket and your breaking me out?” He teases.
“What other reason would there be for me to talk to you?” Wednesday asks her irritation growing larger and her patience getting thinner.
“I don’t know, thought maybe you’d want another kiss.” He smirks.
“Good bye Tyler.” She says immediately turning to walk away.
He laughs as she jet walks out of his cell, a flurry of emotions fills his brain as a result, anger, sadness, intrigued, it stewed in his mind.
He took a deep breath anyway and smiled knowing that this bemusing game of life was far from over.

Hey guys just a little one shot I decided to do on how I think their meeting in season 2 might go to some degree.
