Work Text:
Aizawa walked into Yamada's office, a stack of papers in his left hand. "Hey," he murmured. As usual, Yamada's face lit up upon seeing his bestfriend.
"Hey!" Yamada smiled. "Whatcha got there?" He asks, that stupid smile Aizawa couldn't bring himself to hate still plastered on Yamada's face.
Aizawa rolled his eyes at that stupid smile. "You left a few papers you need to grade in your classroom. Remember, you asked me to get them for you?"
"Right, right! Hand em' over please Shou'." Aizawa walked over, handing him the papers. Now that the ravenette was closer to Yamada, he could see the tiredness in Aizawa's eyes. He had these deep dark eyebags, and his eyes had a glint of exhaustion.
"You seem more exhausted than usual, Shou'! Rough night patrolling?" Yamada questioned. He kept himself postive.
"...Yeah, you could say that." Aizawa responded, reaching a hand up and rubbing his eye.
Yamada nodded, a pang of concern for his friend shooting through him. "You gotta take better care of yourself, man. Your gonna exhaust yourself at this rate."
"Tell that to my hero agency, Zashi.." Aizawa’s hand fell from his eye to stuff itself into his pocket.
Yamada stood up, walking over to where Aizawa was. He placed a hand on the ravenettes shoulder. Aizawa found himself leaning into the hand. "Well, what are they gonna do if you miss a patrol to catch up on some zz's? Fire you?"
"Probably."
"Your the best hero they've got! They'd suffer without you."
"...No I'm not, Zashi. And no, they wouldn't."
"I'm sure they would!" Yamada reassuringly squeezed Aizawa's shoulder.
"I can't lose my job Hizashi.. My financial situation couldn't handle that loss..."
"I know, I know. I get it, money sucks. And that your job is important, but your going to burn out!"
"Then it's a problem when I do." Aizawa leaned Yamada's hand that was now massaging his shoulder.
"Its a problem now, Shou'." Yamada smiled when Aizawa leaned into his touch. "Your really touch starved, huh?" He teased half-heartedly, continuing to gently massage Aizawa's shoulder.
"I guess.." Aizawa muttered, not even trying to deny it.
"You know, you always act like a lone wolf. Everyone needs affection." He pulled Aizawa into a soft hug Against Aizawa's better judgement, he accepted the hug. He rested his head on Yamada's shoulder, his arms coming up to loosely encircle the blondes waist.
"See, that's better, right? You act like your so tough, but deep down you just want attention and affection.." Yamada ran his hands through the messy black hair of Aizawa's. He held Aizawa closer to his chest.
"You know, friends don't hug eachother like this.." Aizawa pulled back to look at Yamada.
"Your right.. But you and I have never been typical friends, right?" Yamada's voice softened. "We've always had.. a unique relationship."
"...I guess.." Aizawa replied, looking into the gaze of his bestfriend.
"You know what else friends don't do?" Yamada asked, leaning in, his lips barely brushing Aizawa's.
"Hm?" Aizawa grunted in question, the faintest pink tint dusting across his face.
"Friends don't do this." He pressed his lips gently against the ravenettes.
Aizawa's eyes fluttered shut, welcoming the kiss tiredly. He pulled back after about 30 seconds, his eyes full of love. Why didn't they do this sooner?
